Millimeter-wave broadband dual-circularly polarized antenna based on gap waveguide technology

A millimeter-wave (mmW) broadband dual circularly polarized (dual-CP) antenna with high port isolation is proposed in this paper. The dual-CP performance is realized based on the symmetrical septum circular polarizer based on the gap waveguide (GWG) technology. Two sets of symmetrical septum circular polarizers are used for common aperture combination,achieving the broadband dual-CP characteristics. Taking advantage of GWG structure without good electrical contact, the antenna can also be fabricated and assembled easily in the mmW band. The principle analysis of the antenna is given, and the antenna is simulated and fabricated. The measured results show that the bandwidth for S11lower than-10.7 dB and the axial ratio (AR) lower than 2.90 dB in 75-110 GHz, with realative bandwidth of 38%. Over the frequency band, the gain is higher than 9.16 dBic, and the dual-CP port isolation is greater than32 dB. The proposed antenna with dual-CP and highly isolated in a wide bandwidth range has broad application prospects in the field of mmW communication. 展开更多

In this study,the potential application of shaped charge jets as transient antennas for electromagnetic signal transmission was explored and an electromagnetic pulse radiation system with a shaped charge jet as a transient antenna was proposed.During the research,crucial characteristics of the transient antenna formed by a shaped charge with a 30 mm diameter,such as resonant frequency,radiation pattern,and radiation efficiency,were evaluated.The typical shaped charge jet morphology was obtained based on the simulations,in which it could insight the dynamic behavior of the shaped charge jet selected.An equivalent model experiment was employed to test the radiation efficiency,and it showed that a shorting pin loading method could increase the relative bandwidth of the jet antenna to 32.8%,and the experimental results correlate with the theoretical predictions for half-wave dipole antennas reasonably well.Additionally,variations in the diameter of the shaped charge jet were found to affect the input impedance and impedance bandwidth,while the length of the jet influenced the resonant frequency of the antenna.This suggests that altering these parameters can achieve reconfigurability of the jet antenna. 展开更多

In this paper,a feature selection method for determining input parameters in antenna modeling is proposed.In antenna modeling,the input feature of artificial neural network(ANN)is geometric parameters.The selection criteria contain correlation and sensitivity between the geometric parameter and the electromagnetic(EM)response.Maximal information coefficient(MIC),an exploratory data mining tool,is introduced to evaluate both linear and nonlinear correlations.The EM response range is utilized to evaluate the sensitivity.The wide response range corresponding to varying values of a parameter implies the parameter is highly sensitive and the narrow response range suggests the parameter is insensitive.Only the parameter which is highly correlative and sensitive is selected as the input of ANN,and the sampling space of the model is highly reduced.The modeling of a wideband and circularly polarized antenna is studied as an example to verify the effectiveness of the proposed method.The number of input parameters decreases from8 to 4.The testing errors of|S_(11)|and axis ratio are reduced by8.74%and 8.95%,respectively,compared with the ANN with no feature selection. 展开更多

Nowadays,wireless communication devices turn out to be transportable owing to the execution of the current technologies.The antenna is the most important component deployed for communication purposes.The antenna plays an imperative role in receiving and transmitting the signals for any sensor network.Among varied antennas,micro strip fractal antenna(MFA)significantly contributes to increasing antenna gain.This study employs a hybrid optimization method known as the elephant clan updated grey wolf algorithm to introduce an optimized MFA design.This method optimizes antenna characteristics,including directivity and gain.Here,the factors,including length,width,ground plane length,height,and feed offset-X and feed offset-Y,are taken into account to achieve the best performance of gain and directivity.Ultimately,the superiority of the suggested technique over state-of-the-art strategies is calculated for various metrics such as cost and gain.The adopted model converges to a minimal value of 0.2872.Further,the spider monkey optimization(SMO)model accomplishes the worst performance over all other existing models like elephant herding optimization(EHO),grey wolf optimization(GWO),lion algorithm(LA),support vector regressor(SVR),bacterial foraging-particle swarm optimization(BF-PSO)and shark smell optimization(SSO).Effective MFA design is obtained using the suggested strategy regarding various parameters. 展开更多

A novel metasurface antenna consisting of 5×5 rectangular patch elements is presented.Thestructure with and without the central element are both analyzed by the Characteristic Mode Theory(CMT).The developed mutually orthogonal principal modes of the optimized periodic patch structure areexcited by a center-feed dipole.A differential feeding network is employed to realize impedance matching.Prototype with profile height of 0.07λ_(0)(λ_(0)is the wavelength in free space at the lowest operatingfrequency)is fabricated and assembled to verify the simulation results.The measured results show that thereflectance coefficient of proposed matesurface antenna is less than-10 dB in the whole operating bandrange from 4.2 GHz to 5.5 GHz,a relative bandwidth of 26.8%is achieved,and the maximummeasured realized gain is more than 9 dBi with a maximum radiation efficiency of 90%.The designprovides a guideline on the application of characteristic modes(CMs)to radiation problems. 展开更多

In this paper,a dual-band graphene-based frequency selective surface(GFSS)is investigated and the operating mechanism of this GFSS is analyzed.By adjusting the bias voltage to control the graphene chemical po-tential between 0 eV and 0.5 eV,the GFSS can achieve four working states:dual-band passband,high-pass lowimpedance,low-pass high-impedance,and band-stop.Based on this GFSS,a hexagonal radome on a broadband omnidirectional monopole antenna is proposed,which can achieve independent 360°six-beam omnidirectional scanning at 1.08 THz and 1.58 THz dual bands.In addition,while increasing the directionality,the peak gains of the dual bands reach 7.44 dBi and 6.67 dBi,respectively.This work provides a simple method for realizing multi-band terahertz multi-beam reconfigurable antennas. 展开更多

Unmanned aerial vehicles(UAVs)may be subjected to unintentional radio frequency interference(RFI)or hostile jamming attack which will lead to fail to track global navigation satellite system(GNSS)signals.Therefore,the simultaneous realization of anti-jamming and high-precision carrier phase difference positioning becomes a dilemmatic problem.In this paper,a distortionless phase digital beamforming(DBF)algorithm with self-calibration antenna arrays is proposed,which enables to obtain distortionless carrier phase while suppressing jamming.Additionally,architecture of high precision Beidou receiver based on anti-jamming antenna arrays is proposed.Finally,the performance of the algorithm is evaluated,including antenna calibration accuracy,carrier phase distortionless accuracy,and carrier phase measurement accuracy without jamming.Meanwhile,the maximal jamming to signal ratio(JSR)and real time kinematic(RTK)positioning accuracy under wideband jamming are also investigated.The experimental results based on the real-life Beidou signals show that the proposed method has an excellent performance for precise relative positioning under jamming when compared with other anti-jamming methods. 展开更多

This paper presents a systematic methodology for analyzing and optimizing an innovative antenna mount designed for phased array antennas, implemented through a novel 2-PSS&1-RR circular-rail parallel mechanism. Initially, a comparative motion analysis between the 3D model of the mount and its full-scale prototype is conducted to validate effectiveness. Given the inherent complexity, a kinematic mapping model is established between the mount and the crank-slider linkage, providing a guiding framework for subsequent analysis and optimization. Guided by this model, feasible inverse and forward solutions are derived, enabling precise identification of stiffness singularities. The concept of singularity distance is thus introduced to reflect the structural stiffness of the mount. Subsequently, also guided by the mapping model, a heuristic algorithm incorporating two backtracking procedures is developed to reduce the mount's mass. Additionally, a parametric finite-element model is employed to explore the relation between singularity distance and structural stiffness. The results indicate a significant reduction(about 16%) in the antenna mount's mass through the developed algorithm, while highlighting the singularity distance as an effective stiffness indicator for this type of antenna mount. 展开更多

In this paper,a method for spoofing detection based on the variation of the signal’s carrier-to-noise ratio(CNR)is proposed.This method leverages the directionality of the antenna to induce varying gain changes in the signals across different incident directions,resulting in distinct CNR variations for each signal.A model is developed to calculate the variation value of the signal CNR based on the antenna gain pattern.This model enables the differentiation of the variation values of the CNR for authentic satellite signals and spoofing signals,thereby facilitating spoofing detection.The proposed method is capable of detecting spoofing signals with power and CNR similar to those of authentic satellite signals.The accuracy of the signal CNR variation value calculation model and the effectiveness of the spoofing detection method are verified through a series of experiments.In addition,the proposed spoofing detection method works not only for a single spoofing source but also for distributed spoofing sources. 展开更多

在可见光通信多输入多输出系统中,针对天线选择理论建模不足和穷举算法复杂度过高的问题,提出了基于亚模函数的天线选择方案。首先,以下行链路的信道容量最大化为目标,建立了基于亚模函数的天线选择理论优化模型,并证明了目标函数满足... 在可见光通信多输入多输出系统中,针对天线选择理论建模不足和穷举算法复杂度过高的问题,提出了基于亚模函数的天线选择方案。首先,以下行链路的信道容量最大化为目标,建立了基于亚模函数的天线选择理论优化模型,并证明了目标函数满足的单调亚模性。其次,根据亚模函数的收益递减效应,设计了基于容量最大化的天线选择算法。最后,仿真分析了非对称限幅光正交频分复用(Asymmetrically Clipped Optical Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing,ACO-OFDM)和直流偏置光OFDM(DC-biased Optical OFDM,DCO-OFDM)系统的信道容量和误码率性能。在6选4的情况下,当信噪比为30 dB时,所提算法与穷举最优算法的信道容量差异仅为0.51 b/s/Hz和1.2 b/s/Hz,复杂度则降低了约46.3%。另外,随着选择天线数的增多和调制阶数的增大,系统的误码率性能逐渐变差。 展开更多

设计并实施了一个基于TWS蓝牙耳机天线的实验教学案例。借助特征模理论,以蛇形倒F天线为原型进行自由空间天线设计。在天线指标满足要求后,采用Solidworks建模,设计出带有电池、喇叭等部件的耳机壳,并将自由空间天线加载到耳机壳中,考... 设计并实施了一个基于TWS蓝牙耳机天线的实验教学案例。借助特征模理论,以蛇形倒F天线为原型进行自由空间天线设计。在天线指标满足要求后,采用Solidworks建模,设计出带有电池、喇叭等部件的耳机壳,并将自由空间天线加载到耳机壳中,考虑到金属、电池、喇叭等部件对天线性能的影响,对天线进行调整优化。仿真分析了加载耳机外壳的天线加载头模的比吸收率(SAR),结果表明符合国际标准。最后,制作了天线实物,并对天线进行性能测试及结构优化。测试结果与仿真结果基本一致。通过本实验案例教学,不仅有助于加深学生对微波天线基本原理、天线设计实现方法以及天线性能参数的理解与掌握,还能提高学生的创新能力、实际工程能力和精益求精的工匠精神。 展开更多

针对现有流体天线(FA)辅助通感一体化(ISAC)系统难以实现通信与感知动态权衡,且传统优化方法复杂度高的问题,提出一种基于加权联合优化通信与感知性能的FA辅助ISAC波束成形方案。首先,建立通信和速率与感知波束图增益加权和最大化模型,... 针对现有流体天线(FA)辅助通感一体化(ISAC)系统难以实现通信与感知动态权衡,且传统优化方法复杂度高的问题,提出一种基于加权联合优化通信与感知性能的FA辅助ISAC波束成形方案。首先,建立通信和速率与感知波束图增益加权和最大化模型,将通信速率最大化问题转换为加权最小均方误差(WMMSE)最小化形式,在发射功率约束下联合优化波束成形矩阵及收发端天线位置。然后,针对非凸的波束成形矩阵和FA位置优化问题,采用交替优化算法分解波束成形与位置优化子问题,结合泰勒展开与最大最小化(MM)算法构造凸松弛并推导闭式解。仿真结果表明,所提方案在通信与速率和波束图增益上明显优于传统ISAC系统,且通过调节权值可实现通信与感知性能的灵活权衡。 展开更多

文中提出了基于拓扑优化的稀疏阵列天线方向图综合设计方法,构造了基于拓扑优化的稀疏阵列天线布局优化模型以及基于梯度优化算法的优化模型的求解方法。考虑由于布局形式变化导致的阵元间互耦效应的变化,在优化方法中有效集成了参数化... 文中提出了基于拓扑优化的稀疏阵列天线方向图综合设计方法,构造了基于拓扑优化的稀疏阵列天线布局优化模型以及基于梯度优化算法的优化模型的求解方法。考虑由于布局形式变化导致的阵元间互耦效应的变化,在优化方法中有效集成了参数化矩量法以实现阵列天线辐射方向特性的解算和性能的精准设计。为了利用梯度优化算法有效求解优化问题,将各个天线单元等效为一系列等效电阻层,采用正切型材料插值模型建立虚拟电阻与设计变量之间的插值关系,保证离散拓扑变量连续化后的自动0-1分化。优化结果表明,所提出的方法能够有效求解低副瓣稀疏阵列天线布局优化设计问题,且在实现阵列天线副瓣电平降低的同时减少了天线单元数目。 展开更多
