Challenges associated with path-following control for commercial displacement vessels under varying loading and draught conditions are addressed in this study.Adaptive control with the adaptation law technique is used...Challenges associated with path-following control for commercial displacement vessels under varying loading and draught conditions are addressed in this study.Adaptive control with the adaptation law technique is used to mitigate the adverse effects of uncertainty and unmodeled parameters on path-following,particularly in the presence of ocean disturbances.The proposed adaptive path-following control estimates the effect of unmodeled parameters and dynamic behavior by the state estimator.Then,the proposed structure adjusts the gains of the L1 controller.The indirect L1 control is used in the main controller,and stability proof is provided based on Lyapunov theory.The adaptive path-following control is proposed for the underactuated-very large crude carrier 2(VLCC2)as a benchmark vessel.Hydrodynamic coefficients for full load and ballast conditions are determined using empirical formulas.Simulations are conducted in these loading conditions,accounting for a twoknot ocean current,two-knot wind,and waves up to sea state 5.Results highlight that the fixed structure,such as the PID controller,fails to deliver satisfactory performance due to significant variations in the vessel’s mass,inertia,and draught.By contrast,the adaptive path-following control demonstrates robustness under varying conditions by effectively estimating the vessel’s unmodeled parameters.展开更多
Non-cylindrical casings filled with explosives have undergone rapid development in warhead design and explosion control.The fragment spatial distribution of prismatic casings is more complex than that of traditional c...Non-cylindrical casings filled with explosives have undergone rapid development in warhead design and explosion control.The fragment spatial distribution of prismatic casings is more complex than that of traditional cylindrical casings.In this study,numerical and experimental investigations into the fragment spatial distribution of a prismatic casing were conducted.A new numerical method,which adds the Lagrangian marker points to the Eulerian grid,was proposed to track the multi-material interfaces and material dynamic fractures.Physical quantity mappings between the Lagrangian marker points and Eulerian grid were achieved by their topological relationship.Thereafter,the fragment spatial distributions of the prismatic casing with different fragment sizes,fragment shapes,and casing geometries were obtained using the numerical method.Moreover,fragment spatial distribution experiments were conducted on the prismatic casing with different fragment sizes and shapes,and the experimental data were compared with the numerical results.The effects of the fragment and casing geometry on the fragment spatial distributions were determined by analyzing the numerical results and experimental data.Finally,a formula including the casing geometry parameters was fitted to predict the fragment spatial distribution of the prismatic casing under internal explosive loading.展开更多

Coinciding with the adaptive loading scheme, a semi-blind channel estimation algorithm using subspace decomposition method is proposed, which uses the information in the cyclic prefix. An initial channel state information is estimated by using the training sequences with the method of interpolation filtering. The paper proposes a wireless sensor network(WSN)localization algorithm based on adaptive whale neural network and extended Kalman filtering to address the problem of excessive reliance on environmental parameters A a...The paper proposes a wireless sensor network(WSN)localization algorithm based on adaptive whale neural network and extended Kalman filtering to address the problem of excessive reliance on environmental parameters A and signal constant n in traditional signal propagation path loss models.This algorithm utilizes the adaptive whale optimization algorithm to iteratively optimize the parameters of the backpropagation(BP)neural network,thereby enhancing its prediction performance.To address the issue of low accuracy and large errors in traditional received signal strength indication(RSSI),the algorithm first uses the extended Kalman filtering model to smooth the RSSI signal values to suppress the influence of noise and outliers on the estimation results.The processed RSSI values are used as inputs to the neural network,with distance values as outputs,resulting in more accurate ranging results.Finally,the position of the node to be measured is determined by combining the weighted centroid algorithm.Experimental simulation results show that compared to the standard centroid algorithm,weighted centroid algorithm,BP weighted centroid algorithm,and whale optimization algorithm(WOA)-BP weighted centroid algorithm,the proposed algorithm reduces the average localization error by 58.23%,42.71%,31.89%,and 17.57%,respectively,validating the effectiveness and superiority of the algorithm.展开更多
