Taking the typical draw-spinning as the study object, and establishing reasonable mechanics model, research on the first pass of spinning process is carried out with FEM system developed. The distributions of the stress and strain are obtained by three types of roller-trace curves: straight line, involute curves and quadratic curves. The results are as follows: (1) The values of equivalent stress and strain are the lowest under involute curve compared to other two curves, and they change relatively small and decrease with the increase of radius. The values of equivalent stress and strain is the highest under quadratic curves, and increase with the increase of radius. (2) The value of radial stress is smallest under involute curve, and is the largest under straight line. Value of radial stress is often used as the criterion of cracking limit, so its distribution laws can provide references for studying the condition of cracking in multi-pass conventional spinning under different roller-trace. (3) Tangential stress is compressive stress. Absolute value of tangential stress is the smallest under involute curve, and values of tangential stress are close between other two curves. The distribution laws of tangential stress can serve as a significant guide to research the critical condition of wrinkling in multi-pass conventional spinning under different roller-trace. (4) The reduction of thickness is the smallest under involute curve. The distribution of the thickness strain is very unequal under quadratic curves. The results obtained can provide references for selecting reasonable roller-trace in multi-pass conventional spinning.展开更多

The assumptions of orthotropic elastic rock with plane strain conditions are made in derivation of the formulations. A tri-linear bond-slip constitutive law is used for modeling the tendon-grout interface behavior and debonding of this interface. The bearing plate width is also considered in the analysis. The obtained solutions are in the integral forms and numerical techniques that have been used for evaluation. In the illustrative example given, the major principal stress is compressive in the anchor free zone and compressive stress concentrations of 815 k Pa and 727 k Pa(for the anchor load of 300 k N) are observed under the bearing plate and the bond length proximal end, respectively. However, large values of tensile stresses with the maximum of-434 k Pa are formed at the bond length distal end. The results obtained using the proposed solution are compared very those of numerical method(FEM).展开更多

Developing a comprehensive understanding of the shear fracture mechanisms and crack propagation behaviors in rocks under the influence of cyclic heating is imperative for optimizing geothermal energy extraction. This study encompasses several critical aspects under cyclic heating conditions, including the assessment of stress distribution states, the characterization of two-dimensional fracture paths, the quantitative analysis of three-dimensional damage characteristics on fracture surfaces, and the determination of the fractal dimension of debris generated after the failure of granite. The test results demonstrate that cyclic heating has a pronounced adverse effect on the physical and mechanical properties of granite. Consequently, stress tends to develop and propagate in a direction perpendicular to the two-dimensional fracture path. This leads to an increase in the extent of tensile damage on the fracture surface and accelerates the overall rock failure process. This increases the number of small-sized debris, raises the fractal dimension, and enhances the rock’s rupture degree. In practical enhanced geothermal energy extraction, the real-time monitoring of fracture propagation within the reservoir rock mass is achieved through the analysis of rock debris generated during the staged fracturing process.展开更多

The curves of wheel sinkage versus slip ratio were obtained and it was found that the sinkage with slip ratio of 0.6 is 3-7 times of the static sinkage. Based on the experimental results, the slip-sinkage principle of lunar's rover lugged wheels (including the sinkage caused by longitudinal flow and side flow of soil, and soil digging of wheel lugs) was analyzed, and corresponding calculation equations were derived. All the factors that can cause slip sinkage were considered to improve the conventional wheel-soil interaction model, and a formula of changing the sinkage exponent with the slip ratio was established. Mathematical model for calculating the sinkage of wheel according to vertical load and slip ratio was developed. Calculation results show that this model can predict the slip-sinkage of wheel with high precision, making up the deficiency of Wong-Reece model that mainly reflects longitudinal slip-sinkage.展开更多

The height of destressed zone(HDZ) above the mined panel was first determined based on the strain energy balance in an underground coal mining area. HDZ plays a vital role in accurately determining the amount of different loads being transferred towards the front abutment and panel sides. Subsequently, based on the load transfer mechanisms, a series of formulae were derived for the average static and dynamic stresses in the island pillar through theoretical analysis. Finally, the model was applied to determining the side abutment stress distribution of LW 3112 in the Chaoyang Coal Mine and the results of ground subsidence monitoring were used to verify the predicted model. It can be concluded that the proposed computational model can be successfully applied to determining the safety of mining in island longwall panels.展开更多
