Modeling and Mode Switching Analysis of Electro-hydrostatic Actuators for Primary Flight Control System

With the advancement of more electric aircraft(MEA)technology,the application of electro-hydrostatic actuators(EHAs)in aircraft actuation systems has become increasingly prevalent.This paper focuses on the modeling and mode switching analysis of EHA used in the primary flight control actuation systems of large aircraft,addressing the challenges associated with mode switching.First,we analyze the functional architecture and operational characteristics of multi-mode EHA,and sumarize the operating modes and implementation methods.Based on the EHA system architecture,we then develop a theoretical mathematical model and a simulation model.Using the simulation model,we analyze the performance of the EHA during normal operation.Finally,the performance of the EHA during mode switching under various functional switching scenarios is investigated.The results indicate that the EHA meets the performance requirements in terms of accuracy,bandwidth,and load capacity.Additionally,the hydraulic cylinder operates smoothly during the EHA mode switching,and the response time for switching between different modes is less than the specified threshold.These findings validate the system performance of multi-mode EHA,which helps to improve the reliability of EHA and the safety of aircraft flight control systems. 展开更多

Aerospace optical cables and fiber-optic connectors have numerous advantages(e.g.,low loss,wide transmission frequency band,large capacity,light weight,and excellent resistance to electromagnetic interference).They can achieve optical communication interconnections and high-speed bidirectional data transmission between optical terminals and photodetectors in space,ensuring the stability and reliability of data transmission during spacecraft operations in orbit.They have become essential components in high-speed networking and optically interconnected communications for spacecrafts.Thermal stress simulation analysis is important for evaluating the temperature stress concentration phenomenon resulting from temperature fluctuations,temperature gradients,and other factors in aerospace optical cables and connectors under the combined effects of extreme temperatures and vacuum environments.Considering this,advanced optical communication technology has been widely used in high-speed railway communication networks to transmit safe,stable and reliable signals,as high-speed railway optical communication in special areas with extreme climates,such as cold and high-temperature regions,requires high-reliability optical cables and connectors.Therefore,based on the finite element method,comprehensive comparisons were made between the thermal distributions of aerospace optical cables and J599III fiber optic connectors under different conditions,providing a theoretical basis for evaluating the performance of aerospace optical cables and connectors in space environments and meanwhile building a technical foundation for potential optical communication applications in the field of high-speed railways. 展开更多

On the basis of theseuncorrelated data gathered, some satisfactory deductions cam be made on the data under re search. A comparison between batch means method and the interval sampling method hasbeen performed by taking the M/M/l queuing system as an example. Based on the decline in exploitation of coal resources, steep coal seam mining and mining face tensions continue to explore the feasibility analysis of steeply inclined faces in the gob. One of the key factors in utilizing the technology of gob-side entry retaining in steep coal seams is to safely and effectively prevent caving rock blocks from rushing into the gob-side entry by sliding downwards along levels. Using theoretical analysis and field methods, we numerically simulated the mining process on a fully-mechanized face in a steep coal seam. The stress and deformation process of roof strata has been analyzed, and the difficulty of utilizing the technology is considered and combined with practice in a steep working face in Lvshuidong mine. The feasibility of utilizing the technology of gob-side entry retaining in a steep coal seam has been recognised. We propose that roadways along the left lane offshoot body use a speciallymade reinforced steel dense net to build a dense rock face at the lower head. The results show that the lane offshoot branch creates effective roof control, safe conditions for roadway construction workers, and practical application of steeply inclined gob. 展开更多

In order to assess the possible collision effect, a numerical simulation for the upper module and spar platlbrm docking at the speed of 0.2 m/s was conducted by using the software ANSYS/LS-DYNA, and the time history of the collision force, energy absorption and structural defonamtion during the collision was described. The purpose was to ensure that the platlbrm was safely put into operation. Furthermore, this paper analyzes different initial velocities and angles on the Von Mises stress and collision resultant force during the docking collision. The results of this paper showed that the docking could be conducted with higher security. The data in this paper can provide useful references for the determination of the upper module's offshore hoisting scheme and practical construction by contrasting the numerical simulation results of the parameters on the docking collision. 展开更多

Fully mechanized mining with large mining height(FMMLMH)is widely used in thick coal seam mining face for its higher recovery ratio,especially where the thickness is less than 7.0 m.However,because of the great mining height and intense rock pressure,the coal wall rib spalling,roof falling and the instability of support occur more likely in FMMLMH working face,and the above three types of disasters interact with each other with complicated relationships.In order to get the relationship between each two of coal wall,roof,floor and support,and reduce the occurrence probability of the three types of disasters,we established the system dynamics(SD)model of the support-surrounding rock system which is composed of"coal wall-roof-floor-support"(CW-R-F-S)in a FMMLMH working face based on the condition of No.15104 working face in Sijiazhuang coal mine.With the software of Vensim,we also simulated the interaction process between each two factors of roof,floor,coal wall and the support.The results show that the SD model of"CW-R-F-S"system can reveal the complicated and interactive relationship clearly between the support and surrounding rock in the FMMLMH working face.By increasing the advancing speed of working face,the support resistance or the length of support guard,or by decreasing the tipto-face distance,the stability of"CW-R-F-S"system will be higher and the happening probability of the disasters such as coal wall rib spalling,roof falling or the instability of support will be lower.These research findings have been testified in field application in No.15104 working face,which can provide a new approach for researching the interaction relationship of support and surrounding rock. 展开更多

It is very important to understand why a small amount of alkali metal doping in Cu_(2)ZnSn(S,Se)_(4)(CZTSSe)solar cells can improve the conversion efficiency.In this work,Na-doped CZTSSe is prepared by a simple solution method,and then the effects on the surface properties of the absorber layer,the buffer layer growth,and the modifications of the solar cell performance induced by the Na doping are studied.The surface of the absorber layer is more Cu-depletion and less roughness due to the Na doping.In addition,the contact angle of the surface increases because of Na doping.As a consequence,the thickness of the CdS buffer layer is significantly reduced and the optical losses in the CdS buffer layer are decreased.The difference of quasi-Fermi levels(EFn-EFp) increases with a small amount of Na doping in the CZTSSe solar cell,so that open circuit voltage(VOC) increased significantly.This work offers new insights into the effects of Na doping on CZTSSe via a solution-based approach and provides a deeper understanding of the origin of the efficiency improvement of Na-doped CZTSSe thin film solar cells. 展开更多

Aiming at the asymmetric deformation and destruction phenomenon appearing after excavating and supporting the 7101 air return way in Meihe mine, this paper comprehensively adopted a variety of methods to analyze the roadway surrounding rock deformation rule, obtaining the roadway surrounding rock stress and plastic zone distribution rule under no supporting condition and the roadway surrounding rock deformation features under original symmetric supporting condition.Furthermore, this paper revealed the catastrophe mechanism, and proposed the concept of ‘‘weak structure'' and the disaster countermeasure of ‘‘overall stabilizing the roadway and strengthening the support of weak structure''. The industrial test shows that the disaster control technology can realize the coordination deformation of the supporting structure and roadway surrounding rock, thus significantly controlling the deformation of roadway surrounding rock. 展开更多

The location of wind turbines on a continuous hilly terrain has an influence on its power outputs.A CFDbased approach is developed to investigate the complex aerodynamic interference between two wind turbines and the hilly terrain.In this approach,a new three-dimensional model of hilly terrain is established to analyze its viscous effect,and a wind shear is modelled through logarithmic function.They are coupled into the aerodynamics of wind turbine based on“FLUENT”software.Then we apply the proposed method to the NREL Phase VI wind turbines and compare with an experiment in the atmospheric boundary layer(ABL)wind tunnel to validate its accuracy.The simulation also investigates the power outputs of wind turbines on the flat ground and the continuous hilly terrain by changing the location of the wind turbine related to the hilly terrain and the shape of the 1st hill.The results show that the wind turbine located on the top of the 2nd hill has the maximum power;and that when the wind turbine is located on the downstream of the hill,the stall zone should be avoided,and the power of the wind turbine located on the side of the hill is higher than that of the wind turbine located on the front and rear of the hilly terrain. 展开更多

The predicted effects of climate change on local species distributions around Beijing,China

To assist conservationists and policymakers in managing and protecting forests in Beijing from the effects of climate change,this study predicts changes for 2012–2112 in habitable areas of three tree species—Betula platyphylla,Quercus palustris,Platycladus orientalis,plus other mixed broadleaf species—in Beijing using a classification and regression tree niche model under the International Panel on Climate Change’s A2 and B2 emissions scenarios(SRES).The results show that climate change will increase annual average temperatures in the Beijing area by 2.0–4.7℃,and annual precipitation by 4.7–8.5 mm,depending on the emissions scenario used.These changes result in shifts in the range of each of the species.New suitable areas for distributions of B.platyphylla and Q.palustris will decrease in the future.The model points to significant shifts in the distributions of these species,withdrawing from their current ranges and pushing southward towards central Beijing.Most of the ranges decline during the initial 2012–2040 period before shifting southward and ending up larger overall at the end of the 88-year period.The mixed broadleaf forests expand their ranges significantly.The P.orientalis forests,on the other hand,expand their range marginally.The results indicate that climate change and its effects will accelerate significantly in Beijing over the next 88 years.Water stress is likely to be a major limiting factor on the distribution of forests and the most important factor affecting migration of species into and out of existing nature reserves.There is a potential for the extinction of some species.Therefore,long-term vegetation monitoring and warning systems will be needed to protect local species from habitat loss and genetic swamping of native species by hybrids. 展开更多

Magnetics,ferroelectrics,and multiferroics have attracted great attentions because they are not only extremely im-portant for investigating fundamental physics,but also have important applications in information technology.Here,recent computational studies on magnetism and ferroelectricity are reviewed.We first give a brief introduction to magnets,fer-roelectrics,and multiferroics.Then,theoretical models and corresponding computational methods for investigating these materials are presented.In particular,a new method for computing the linear magnetoelectric coupling tensor without applying an external field in the first principle calculations is proposed for the first time.The functionalities of our home-made Property Analysis and Simulation Package for materials(PASP)and its applications in the field of magnetism and ferroelectricity are discussed.Finally,we summarize this review and give a perspective on possible directions of future computational studies on magnetism and ferroelectricity. 展开更多

In order to present a retrospective analysis of exposition accidents using input data from investigation processes,data from a specific accident was examined,in which we analyzed possible involved gas species( liquefied petroleum gas; nature gas) and computed their concentrations and distributions based on the interactions between the structures and the effects of the explosion. In this study,5 scenarios were created to analyze the impact effect. Moreover,a coupling algorithm was put into practice,with a practical outflow boundary and joint strength are applied. Finally,the damage effects of each scenario were simulated. Our experimental results showed significant differences in the 5 scenarios concerning the damage effects on the building structures. The results from scenario 3 agree with the accident characteristics,demonstrating the effectiveness of our proposed modeling method. Our proposed method reflects gas properties,species and the concentration and distribution,and the simulated results validates the root cause,process,and consequences of accidental explosions. Furthermore,this method describes the evolution process of explosions in different building structures. Significantly,our model demonstrates the quantatative explosion effect of factors like gas species,gas volumes,and distributions of gases on explosion results. In this study,a feasible,effective,and quantitative method for structure safety is defined,which is helpful to accelerate the development of safer site regulations. 展开更多
