Then, vector model of helical milling hole movement was built on vector analysis method. Finally, surface roughness calculation formula was deduced according to the movement principle of helical milling hole, then the influence of main technological parameters on surface roughness was analyzed. Analysis shows that theoretical surface roughness of hole becomes poor with the increase of tool speed ratio and revolution radius. Meanwhile, the roughness decreases according to the increase of tool teeth number. The research contributes greatly to the construction of roughness prediction model in helical milling hole.展开更多

In this paper the experiments were carried out to dis cuss the surface microstructure of the camera’s guided drawtube by applying ult rasonic vibration cutting device to the traditional lathe. The influence rule of the cutting condition on the surface roughness was put forward, which was drawn by comparing the ultrasonic cutting with the common cutting by use of the cemen ted carbide tool and the polycrystalline diamond (PCD) tool. The test results sh owed that the ultrasonic cutting performs better than the common cutting in the same condition. According to the test results analyzing, the surface characteriz ation is influenced clearly by the rigidity of the acoustic system and the machi ne tool, as well the setting height of the tool tip. Otherwise, the dense regula r low frequency vibration ripples will be scraped on the machined surface. When the tool tip is set higher than the rotating center of the work piece by three t imes of the amplitude of ultrasonic vibration, the vibration ripples behave alig ht; they turn light and shade alternatively when the tool tip is lower than the rotating center of the work piece by three times of the amplitude of ultrasonic vibration. According to the test result analyzing, the following conclusions are put forward: 1) The surface roughness in ultrasonic cutting is better than that in common cutting. Under a one third critical cutting velocity, the value of th e surface roughness in ultrasonic cutting rise slightly along with the cutting v elocity, while in common cutting it decreases contrast to the cutting velocity; the curves of the surface roughness in ultrasonic cutting and common cutting see m to be alike, both increase along with the feed rate and the cutting depth, but the value in ultrasonic cutting is smaller in the same condition.2) The influen ce of the coolant on the surface roughness cannot be ignored. The kerosene can b e employed to improve the surface roughness in ultrasonic machining.3) In ultras onic cutting process of aluminum alloy ultra-thin wall work piece, the PCD tool performs better than the cemented carbide tools.4) The vibration ripples result from the not enough rigidity of the acoustic system and the improper setting he ight of the tool tip. The departure of the tool tip from the rotating center of the work piece to some extent causes the vibration ripples on the machined surfa ce.展开更多

These conditions include the workpiece rotation speed, the oscillation speed, the contact pressure of the roller, the hardness of the roller, and the type of abrasive film. The superfinishing device is applied to polishing a thin and long cylindrical bar. A micro-finishing film and a lapping film were used as abrasive films. A1203 grains or SiC grains were used as abrasives. The surface roughness of a polished workpiece was measured using a stylus-type surface-roughness measuring instrument. As a result, the conditions to improve the polishing surface efficiently include high values for the workpiece rotation speed, oscillation speed and contact pressure. The roller hardness has no effect on the efficient polishing conditions. The mirror finish of a surface can be created using lapping film of 3 μm with Al2O3 grains after polishing to a steady surface roughness under the efficient polishing conditions.展开更多

It i...Powder Mixed Electric Discharge Machining (PMEDM) has different mechanism from conventional EDM, which can improve the surface roughness and surface quality distinctly and to obtain nearly mirror surface effects. It is a useful finish machining method and is researched and applied by many countries. However there are little research on rough machining of PMEDM. Experiments show that PMEDM machining makes discharge breakdown easier, enlarges the discharge gaps and widens discharge passage, and at last forms even distributed and "large and shadow" shaped etched cavities. Because of much loss of discharge energy in the discharge gaps and reduction of ejecting force on the melted material, the machining efficiency gets lower and the surface roughness gets small in PMEDM machining in comparison with conventional EDM machining. This paper performs experimental research on the machining efficiency and surface roughness of PMEDM in rough machining. The machining efficiency of PMEDM can be highly increased by selecting proper discharge parameters (increasing peak current, reducing pulse width) with approximate surface roughness in comparison with conventional EDM machining. Although PMEDM can improve machining efficiency in rough efficiency, but a series of problems like electrode wear, efficiently separation of machined scraps from the powder mixed working fluid, should be solved before PMEDM machining is really applied in rough machining. Experiments result shows that powder mixed EDM machining can obviously improve machining efficiency at the same surface roughness by selecting proper discharging parameters, and can provide reference accordingly for the application of PMEDM machining technology in rough machining.展开更多

The research contributes greatly to the construction of roughness prediction model in helical milling hole.

文摘In the present work, samples of Al-Si-Cu piston alloy after T6 heat treatment were exposed for 2 h at temperatures ranging from 400 to 550°C.The evolution of surface roughness and microstructure of the alloy during thermal exposure was studied by combination methods of roughness profiles, optical and scanning electron microscopy as well as XRD analysis. It is found that the roughness and mass of the alloy increase with the raise of the thermal exposure temperature, and the increasing rates of them are slow as the exposure temperature is below 500°C,but accelerates abruptly when the temperature is higher than 500°C.The variation of surface roughness of the alloy is closely related to phase transformation and oxidation during the thermal exposure.
文摘The effect of surface roughness of aluminum oxide (95%) substrate on the properties of Ni-Cr alloy thin film is studied. The thin films are prepared on the substrates with different roughness by using magnetron sputtering. The micro-structure,adhesive and electrical properties of the thin films were investigated by using scanning electron microscopy, scratch method and four-probe method. The burst voltage and current of the thin film transducers with different substrates were measured according to D-optimization method. The results show that the particle size, structural defect, resistivity and adhesion strength of the thin film increase with the increase of the substrate roughness. The difference among the burst time of the samples with difference substrate roughness gradually decreases with the increase of stimulation amount. The burst time is approximate to 20 μs in the charging voltage of 37 V.
文摘In many fields of high-tech industry the ultra-t hi n wall parts are employed. The departure of the tool tip from the rotating center of the work piece to some extent causes the vibration ripples on the machined surfa ce.
文摘Chrome steels are used in bearings since they possess high strength and wear resistance. However, when those parts are in service, failure happens due to sliding friction before the lifetime. To improve the durability of the American Iron and Steel Institute(AISI)52100 chromium steel,in this work, the effect of laser surface texturing(LST)was analyzed. With the different patterns of circle and ellipse comparing with the untextured samples, the wear behavior was investigated using the pin-on-disc tribometer. The lubricant used for wear analysis is semisolid lithium grease National Lubricating Grease Institute lubricant(SKF NLGI-3).Sliding wear analysis was conducted at different loads of 10 N,30 N and 50 N for the sliding speed of 750 r/min and 1400 r/min.The wear morphology was analyzed using a scanning electron microscope(SEM).The roughness of the samples was found using a white light interferometer. The effect of different patterns like circle and ellipse, alter the friction and wear properties of chromium alloy was observed compared with the untextured samples.LST shows considerable reduction in friction and wear for ellipsoidal pattern compared with the circular pattern because of wear debris and lubricant getting trapped.

文摘In order to support the functional design and simulation and the final fabrication processes for functional surfaces,it is necessary to obtain a multi-scale modelling approach representing both macro geometry and micro details of the surface in one unified model.Based on the fractal geometry theory,a synthesized model is proposed by mathematically combining Weierstrass-Mandelbrot fractal function in micro space and freeform CAGD model in macro space.Key issues of the synthesis, such as algorithms for fractal interpolation of freeform profiles, and visualization optimization for fractal details, are addressed.A prototype of the integration solution is developed based on the platform of AutoCAD's Object ARX,and a few multi-scale modelling examples are used as case studies. With the consistent mathematic model,multi-scale surface geometries can be represented precisely. Moreover, the visualization result of the functional surfaces shows that the visualization optimization strategies developed are efficient.

文摘The cavitation incipience and development of water flow over a thin hydrofoil placed in the test section of high-speed cavitation tunnel were investigated.Hydrofoils with smooth and rough leading edge were tested for different upstream velocities and incidence angles. The observations clearly revealed that cavitation incipience is enhanced by roughness at incidence angle below 2°.This is in line with the former reports, according to whose roughness element decreases the wettability and traps a larger amount of gas.As a result, surface nucleation is enhanced with an increased risk of cavitation.Surprisingly, for higher incidence angles(>3°),it was found that cavitation incipience is significantly delayed by roughness while developed cavitation is almost the same for both smooth and rough hydrofoils. This unexpected incipience delay is related to the change in the boundary layer structure due to roughness. It was also reported a significant influence of roughness on the dynamic of developed cavitation and shedding of transient cavities.

文摘To determine mirror surface finishing conditions and efficient and economical superfinishing conditions for pure titanium and titanium alloys, an abrasive film is used when superfinishing is performed under varying conditions. The mirror finish of a surface can be created using lapping film of 3 μm with Al2O3 grains after polishing to a steady surface roughness under the efficient polishing conditions.

文摘In order to understand the initial surface damage of Al piston in unsteady thermal environment like knock combustion,T6 heat treated cast Al-Si-Cu alloy was thermal shocked under different heating speeds between room temperature and 450°C by adjusting the environmental temperature. The surface evolution was mainly characterized in view of roughness, hardness, morphology, texture, phase and element distribution. Results indicated that both the roughness and hardness went up to the maximum and then decreased with rising heating speed.Micro-structure and phase analysis suggested that the interactions of solid phase transition and oxidation with enhancing thermal stress took responsible for the surface evolution.
文摘Powder Mixed Electric Discharge Machining (PMEDM) has different mechanism from conventional EDM, which can improve the surface roughness and surface quality distinctly and to obtain nearly mirror surface effects. Experiments result shows that powder mixed EDM machining can obviously improve machining efficiency at the same surface roughness by selecting proper discharging parameters, and can provide reference accordingly for the application of PMEDM machining technology in rough machining.
