Cloning scheme for multipartite entangled pure states via photonic quantum walk

The no-cloning theorem has sparked considerable interest in achieving high-fidelity approximate quantum cloning.Most of the previous studies mainly focused on the cloning of single particle states,and cloning schemes used there are incapable of cloning quantum entangled states in multipartite systems.Few schemes were proposed for cloning multiparticle states,which consume more entanglement resources with loss of qubits,and the fidelity of the cloned state is relatively low.In this paper,cloning schemes for bipartite and tripartite entangled states based on photonic quantum walk and entanglement swapping are proposed.The results show that according to the proposed schemes,two high-fidelity(up to 0.75)cloned states can be obtained with less quantum resource consumption.Because of the simple cloning steps,few quantum resources and high fidelity,these schemes are both efficient and feasible.Moreover,this cloning machine eliminates the need for tracing out cloning machine,thereby minimizing resource waste. 展开更多

The advent of Grover’s algorithm presents a significant threat to classical block cipher security,spurring research into post-quantum secure cipher design.This study engineers quantum circuit implementations for three versions of the Ballet family block ciphers.The Ballet‑p/k includes a modular-addition operation uncommon in lightweight block ciphers.Quantum ripple-carry adder is implemented for both“32+32”and“64+64”scale to support this operation.Subsequently,qubits,quantum gates count,and quantum circuit depth of three versions of Ballet algorithm are systematically evaluated under quantum computing model,and key recovery attack circuits are constructed based on Grover’s algorithm against each version.The comprehensive analysis shows:Ballet-128/128 fails to NIST Level 1 security,while when the resource accounting is restricted to the Clifford gates and T gates set for the Ballet-128/256 and Ballet-256/256 quantum circuits,the design attains Level 3. 展开更多

In the process of power scaling large-area Quantum Cascade Lasers(QCLs),challenges such as degradation of beam quality and emission of multilobed far-field modes are frequently encountered.These issues become particularly pronounced with an increase in ridge width,resulting in multimode problems.To tackle this,an innovative multi ridge waveguide structure based on the principle of supersymmetry(SUSY)was proposed.This structure comprises a wider main waveguide in the center and two narrower auxiliary waveguides on either side.The high-order modes of the main waveguide are coupled with the modes of the auxiliary waveguides through mode-matching design,and the optical loss of the auxiliary waveguides suppresses these modes,thereby achieving fundamental mode lasing of the wider main waveguide.This paper employs the finite difference eigenmode(FDE)method to perform detailed structural modeling and simulation optimization of the 4.6μm wavelength quantum cascade laser,successfully achieving a single transverse mode QCL with a ridge width of 10μm.In comparison to the traditional single-mode QCL(with a ridge width of about 5μm),the MRW structure has the potential to increase the gain area of the laser by 100%.This offers a novel design concept and methodology for enhancing the single-mode luminous power of mid-infrared quantum cascade lasers,which is of considerable significance. 展开更多

Colloidal quantum dots(CQDs)are affected by the quantum confinement effect,which makes their bandgap tunable.This characteristic allows these materials to cover a broader infrared spectrum,providing a costeffective alternative to traditional infrared detector technology.Recently,thanks to the solution processing properties of quantum dots and their ability to integrate with silicon-based readout circuits on a single chip,infrared detectors based on HgTe CQDs have shown great application prospects.However,facing the challenges of vertically stacked photovoltaic devices,such as barrier layer matching and film non-uniformity,most devices integrated with readout circuits still use a planar structure,which limits the efficiency of light absorption and the effective separation and collection of photo-generated carriers.Here,by synthesizing high-quality HgTe CQDs and precisely controlling the interface quality,we have successfully fabricated a photovoltaic detector based on HgTe and ZnO QDs.At a working temperature of 80 K,this detector achieved a low dark current of 5.23×10^(-9)A cm^(-2),a high rectification ratio,and satisfactory detection sensitivity.This work paves a new way for the vertical integration of HgTe CQDs on silicon-based readout circuits,demonstrating their great potential in the field of high-performance infrared detection. 展开更多

Ischemia is a significant factor affecting the repair of peripheral nerve injuries,while exosomes have been shown to promote angiogenesis.To further investigate the detailed processes and efficacy of exosome thera⁃py for ischemic peripheral nerve injuries,this study utilized glucose-modified near-infrared-II(NIR-II)quantum dots(QDs)to label adipose-derived stem cell exosomes(QDs-ADSC-Exos),enabling long-term in vivo NIR-II imaging of exosome treatment for ischemic peripheral nerve damage.Experimental results confirmed that QDs can be used for non-invasive in vitro labeling of exosomes,with QDs-ADSC-Exos exhibiting strong fluorescence signals in the NIR-II window and demonstrating favorable NIR-II imaging characteristics in vivo.Notably,QDsADSC-Exos showed accumulation at the site of nerve injury in cases of ischemic peripheral nerve damage.Func⁃tional neurological assessments indicated that QDs-ADSC-Exos effectively promoted neural regeneration.This study highlights the potential of exosomes in treating ischemic peripheral nerve injuries and elucidates the spatio⁃temporal characteristics of exosome therapy,providing objective evidence for the further optimization of exosomebased treatment protocols. 展开更多

As an essential candidate for environment-friendly luminescent quantum dots(QDs),CuInS-based QDs have attracted more attention in recent years.However,several drawbacks still hamper their industrial applications,such as lower photoluminescence quantum yield(PLQY),complex synthetic pathways,uncontrollable emission spectra,and insufficient photostability.In this study,CuInZnS@ZnS core/shell QDs was prepared via a one-pot/three-step synthetic scheme with accurate and tunable control of PL spectra.Then their ensemble spectroscopic properties during nucleation formation,alloying,and ZnS shell growth processes were systematically investigated.PL peaks of these QDs can be precisely manipulated from 530 to 850 nm by controlling the stoichiometric ratio of Cu/In,Zn^(2+)doping and ZnS shell growth.In particular,CuInZnS@ZnS QDs possess a significantly long emission lifetime(up to 750 ns),high PLQY(up to 85%),and excellent crystallinity.Their spectroscopic evolution is well validated by Cu-deficient related intragap emission model.By controlling the stoichiometric ratio of Cu/In,two distinct Cu-deficient related emission pathways are established based on the differing oxidation states of Cu defects.Therefore,this work provides deeper insights for fabricating high luminescent ternary or quaternary-alloyed QDs. 展开更多

The Type-2 generalized Feistel structure is widely used in block cipher design.This work conducts a quantum key recovery attack on TWINE-80,a lightweight block cipher based on the improved Type-2 generalized Feistel structure.By constructing a round function,a new 7-round quantum distinguisher for TWINE-80 is identified.Leveraging the reuse characteristics of round keys in the algorithm,three pairs of repeated round keys are discovered during the 5-round transformation process.Using Grover’s algorithm to search for partial round keys,a 17-round quantum key recovery attack on TWINE-80 is successfully implemented,with a time complexity of 296 and requiring 327 qubits.Compared to similar studies,this work reduces the time complexity by 26 and slightly decreases the required quantum resources by 12 qubits. 展开更多

There is nonradiative recombination in waveguide region owing to severe carrier leakage,which in turn reduces output power and wall-plug efficiency.In this paper,we designed a novel epitaxial structure,which suppresses carrier leakage by inserting n-Ga_(0.55)In_(0.45)P and p-GaAs_(0.6)P_(0.4) between barriers and waveguide layers,respectively,to modulate the energy band structure and to increase the height of barrier.The results show that the leakage current density reduces by 87.71%,compared to traditional structure.The nonradiative recombination current density of novel structure reduces to 37.411 A/cm^(2),and the output power reaches 12.80 W with wall-plug efficiency of 78.24%at an injection current density 5 A/cm^(2) at room temperature.In addition,the temperature drift coefficient of center wavelength is 0.206 nm/℃at the temperature range from 5℃to 65℃,and the slope of fitted straight line of threshold current with temperature variation is 0.00113.The novel epitaxial structure provides a theoretical basis for achieving high-power laser diode. 展开更多

The performance of the photodetector is significantly impacted by the inherent surface faults in GaAs nanowires(NWs).We combined three-dimensional(3D)gallium arsenide nanowires with zero-dimensional(0D)WS_(2) quantum dot(QDs)materials in a simple and convenient way to form a heterogeneous structure.Various performance enhancements have been realized through the formation of typeⅡenergy bands in heterostructures,opening up new research directions for the future development of photodetector devices.This work successfully fabricated a high-sensitivity photodetector based on WS_(2)QDs/GaAs NWs heterostructure.Under 660 nm laser excitation,the photodetector exhibits a responsivity of 368.07 A/W,a detectivity of 2.7×10^(12)Jones,an external quantum efficiency of 6.47×10^(2)%,a low-noise equivalent power of 2.27×10^(-17)W·Hz^(-1/2),a response time of 0.3 s,and a recovery time of 2.12 s.This study provides a new solution for the preparation of high-performance GaAs detectors and promotes the development of optoelectronic devices for GaAs NWs. 展开更多

Witnessing quantum phase transition in a non-Hermitian trapped ion system via quantum Fisher information

Quantum Fisher information is used to witness the quantum phase transition in a non-Hermitian trapped ion system with balanced gain and loss,from the viewpoint of quantum parameter estimation.We formulate a general non-unitary dynamic of any two-level non-Hermitian system in the form of state vector.The sudden change in the dynamics of quantum Fisher information occurs at an exceptional point characterizing quantum criticality.The dynamical behaviors of quantum Fisher information are classified into two different ways which depends on whether the system is located in symmetry unbroken or broken phase regimes.In the phase regime where parity and time reversal symmetry are unbroken,the oscillatory evolution of quantum Fisher information is presented,achieving better quantum measurement precision.In the broken phase regime,quantum Fisher information undergoes the monotonically decreasing behavior.The maximum value of quantum estimation precision is obtained at the exceptional point.It is found that the two distinct kinds of behaviors can be verified by quantum entropy and coherence.Utilizing quantum Fisher information to witness phase transition in the non-Hermitian system is emphasized.The results may have potential applications to non-Hermitian quantum information technology. 展开更多

Extracting more information and saving quantum resources are two main aims for quantum measurements.However,the optimization of strategies for these two objectives varies when discriminating between quantum states |ψ_(0)> and |ψ_(1)> through multiple measurements.In this study,we introduce a novel state discrimination model that reveals the intricate relationship between the average error rate and average copy consumption.By integrating these two crucial metrics and minimizing their weighted sum for any given weight value,our research underscores the infeasibility of simultaneously minimizing these metrics through local measurements with one-way communication.Our findings present a compelling trade-off curve,highlighting the advantages of achieving a balance between error rate and copy consumption in quantum discrimination tasks,offering valuable insights into the optimization of quantum resources while ensuring the accuracy of quantum state discrimination. 展开更多

Using simple and eco-friendly ethanol solvothermal treatment,dual-emission biomass carbon quantum dots(D-BCQDs)were synthesized from biomass viburnum awabuki leaves.Under excitation with 413 nm wavelength light two emission peaks appeared at 490 and 675 nm and the dots could be tuned to emit crimson,red,purplish red,purple and blue-gray fluorescence by changing the solvothermal temperature from 140℃ to 160,180,200 and 240℃,respectively.XPS and FTIR characterization in-dicated that the fluorescence color was mainly determined by surface oxidation defects,elemental nitrogen and sp^(2)-C/sp^(3)-C hybrid-ized structural domains.The D-BCQDs could not only detect Fe^(3+)or Cu^(2+),but also quantify the concentration ratio of Fe^(3+)to Cu^(2+)in a solution containing both,demonstrating their potential applications in the simultaneous detection of Fe^(3+)and Cu^(2+)ions. 展开更多

The quantum entangled photon-pair source,as an essential component of optical quantum systems,holds great potential for applications such as quantum teleportation,quan-tum computing,and quantum imaging.The current workhorse technique for preparing photon pairs involves performing spon-taneous parametric down conversion(SPDC)in bulk nonlinear crystals.However,the current power consumption and cost of preparing entangled photon-pair sources are relatively high,pos-ing challenges to their integration and scalability.In this paper,we propose a low-power system model for the quantum entan-gled photon-pair source based on SPDC theory and phase matching technology.This model allows us to analyze the per-formance of each module and the influence of component cha-racteristics on the overall system.In our experimental setup,we utilize a 5 mW laser diode and a typical type-II barium metabo-rate(BBO)crystal to prepare an entangled photon-pair source.The experimental results are in excellent agreement with the model,indicating a significant step towards achieving the goal of low-power and low-cost entangled photon-pair sources.This achievement not only contributes to the practical application of quantum entanglement lighting,but also paves the way for the widespread adoption of optical quantum systems in the future. 展开更多

The thermal decoherence of harmonic oscillators is investigated here.The quantum system presented here is a one-dimensional oscillator with angular frequency,which is surrounded by a thermal bath of environmental oscillators.There are various environmental oscillators with different angular frequency(below an ultraviolet cutoff).At the beginning,the quantum system is a pure state and the environmental oscillators are in thermodynamic equilibrium with temperature.After a period,the system-environment interactions inspire significant decoherence of the quantum state.Such decoherence is displayed by explicit calculations of the purity and von Neumann entropy of the quantum system.It is worth noting that the decoherence could be significant even in the weak coupling and low temperature case due to the large amount of environmental degrees of freedom.Since the decoherence process is inspired between the quantum system and an ordinary thermal environment here,the thermal decoherence result is quite general. 展开更多

Two new transition-metal coordination polymers,{[Cd(oba)(L)_(2)]·H_(2)O}_n(1)and[Cd(4-nph)(L)_(2)]_n(2)(H_(2)oba=4,4'-oxydibenzoic acid,4-H_(2)nph=4-nitrophthalic acid,L=2,2'-biimidazole),were successfully synthesized under hydrothermal conditions and characterized structurally by IR spectroscopy,elemental analyses,single-crystal X-ray diffraction,powder X-ray diffraction,and thermogravimetric analysis.The results of single-crystal X-ray diffraction show that complex 1 presents a 1D zigzag chain structure and further extends to a 2D network through N—H…O hydrogen bonds andπ-πstacking interactions.Meanwhile,complex 2 has a zero-dimensional structure and also extends to form a 2D network through N—H…O hydrogen bonds andπ-πstacking interactions.In addition,both 1and 2 exhibited luminescent properties in the solid state.Furthermore,quantum chemical calculations were carried out on the"molecular fragments"extracted from the crystal structures of 1 and 2 using the PBE0/LANL2DZ method constructed by the Gaussian 16 program.The calculated values signify a significant covalent interaction between the coordination atoms and the Cd(Ⅱ)ions.CCDC:2332173,1;2332176,2. 展开更多

It is still challenging for exploring high-active photocatalysts to efficiently remove levofloxacin(LFX)by activating peroxymonosulfate(PMS).Herein,we constructed a novel Z scheme ZnFe_(2)O_(4)/g-C_(3)N_(4)/CQDs(ZCC)heterojunction by anchoring ZnFe_(2)O_(4)on tubular-like g-C_(3)N_(4)induced by CQDs(denoted as CNC)using microwave-assisted thermal methods.The ZCC exhibits the highest photocatalytic activity in activating PMS for LFX degradation,endowing a removal rate~95.3%,which is 4.8 and 7.3 times that of pure ZnFe_(2)O_(4)(19.8%)and g-C_(3)N_(4)(13.1%),separately.The enhanced photocatalytic activity of ZCC can be attributed to the distinctive morphology of CNC,enhanced light response,increased specific surface area and abundant pore structure.Besides,the formed Z scheme heterojunction and CQDs acting as a transmission bridge of the photogenerated charges(e−and h+)can accelerate transfer and inhibit recombination of e−and h+.Radical capture experiments and electron spin resonance(ESR)measurements revealed that SO4•-and O2•-play a predominant role in degradation process of LFX.Liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry(LC-MS)was applied to identify intermediates and propose feasible degradation pathways of LFX.In conclusion,this study presents a promising strategy for regulating the photocatalytic activity of g-C_(3)N_(4)by simultaneously integrating CQDs induction and Z scheme heterojunction construction. 展开更多
