A highly precise and timely diagnosis technology can help effectively monitor and adjust the sucker rod production system(SRPS)used in oil wells to ensure a safe and efficient production.The current diagnosis method is pattern recognition of a dynamometer card(DC)based on feature extraction and perceptron.The premise of this method is that the training and target data have the same distribution.However,the training data are collected from a field SRPS with different system parameters designed to adapt to production conditions,which may significantly affect the diagnostic accuracy.To address this issue,in this study,an improved model of the sucker rod string(SRS)is derived by adding faultparameter dimensions,with which DCs under 16 working conditions could be generated.Subsequently an adaptive diagnosis method is proposed by taking simulated DCs generated near the working point of the target SRPS as training data.Meanwhile,to further improve the accuracy of the proposed method,the DC features are improved by relative normalization and using additional features of the DC position to increase the distance between different types of samples.The parameters of the perceptron are optimized to promote its discriminability.Finally,the accuracy and real-time performance of the proposed adaptive diagnosis method are validated using field data. 展开更多

High-precision and real-time diagnosis of sucker rod pumping system(SRPS)is important for quickly mastering oil well operations.Deep learning-based method for classifying the dynamometer card(DC)of oil wells is an efficient diagnosis method.However,the input of the DC as a two-dimensional image into the deep learning framework suffers from low feature utilization and high computational effort.Additionally,different SRPSs in an oil field have various system parameters,and the same SRPS generates different DCs at different moments.Thus,there is heterogeneity in field data,which can dramatically impair the diagnostic accuracy.To solve the above problems,a working condition recognition method based on 4-segment time-frequency signature matrix(4S-TFSM)and deep learning is presented in this paper.First,the 4-segment time-frequency signature(4S-TFS)method that can reduce the computing power requirements is proposed for feature extraction of DC data.Subsequently,the 4S-TFSM is constructed by relative normalization and matrix calculation to synthesize the features of multiple data and solve the problem of data heterogeneity.Finally,a convolutional neural network(CNN),one of the deep learning frameworks,is used to determine the functioning conditions based on the 4S-TFSM.Experiments on field data verify that the proposed diagnostic method based on 4S-TFSM and CNN(4S-TFSM-CNN)can significantly improve the accuracy of working condition recognition with lower computational cost.To the best of our knowledge,this is the first work to discuss the effect of data heterogeneity on the working condition recognition performance of SRPS. 展开更多

Dynamometer cards are commonly used to analyze down-hole working conditions of pumping systems in actual oil production. Nowadays, the traditional supervised learning methods heavily rely on the classification accuracy of the training samples. In order to reduce the errors of manual classification, an automatic clustering algorithm is proposed and applied to diagnose down-hole conditions of pumping systems. The spectral clustering (SC) is a new clustering algorithm, which is suitable for any data distribution. However, it is sensitive to initial cluster centers and scale parameters, and needs to predefine the cluster number. In order to overcome these shortcom- ings, we propose an automatic clustering algorithm, fast black hole-spectral clustering (FBH-SC). The FBH algo- rithm is used to replace the K-mean method in SC, and a CritC index function is used as the target function to automatically choose the best scale parameter and clus- tering number in the clustering process. Different simulation experiments were designed to define the relationship among scale parameter, clustering number, CritC index value, and clustering accuracy. Based on the characteristics of large flow rate , low head , short annual operation time , and high reliability of the city flood-control pumping stations , a new-type shaft tubular pumping system featuring a shaft suction box and a siphon-type discharge passage with a vacuum breaker as the cutoff device was developed , which possesses such advantages as simple structure , reliable cutoff , and high energy performance.Taking some pumping stations as the case studies , in the light of the specified operation conditions , the hydraulic optimal design of the shaft-type tubular pumping system was determined and the optimized shape of the system was recommended.The performance prediction based on the computational fluid dynamics methodology was determined and the model test verification was conducted.The results show that the predicted data agree with the experimental head and efficiency so that both methods can be used to determine the performance of a real pumping station.Finally , the in-situ measurements of a pumping station during the commissioning period further verified that the shaft-type tubular pumping station with a siphon discharge passage is of higher efficiency , more reliable and stable. 展开更多

This kind of system has the advantage of energy-saving. But, it also has some defects that have to be improved. Microcomputer control of a pump controlled motor electrohydraulic servo system is studied. A PID controller is first adopted on the closed loop control system, and experimental results are obtained. Then, a model reference adaptive controller is designed and realised on the same system applying a single board microcomputer. Experimental results show that the dynamic properties of the adaptive control system is much better than those of the PID system under different inertia load conditions. 展开更多

The submersible pumping unit is a new type of pumping system for lifting formation fluids from onshore oil wells, and the identification of its working condition has an important influence on oil production. In this paper we proposed a diagnostic method for identifying the working condition of the submersible pumping system. Based on analyzing the working principle of the pumping unit and the pump structure, different characteristics in loading and unloading processes of the submersible linear motor were obtained at different working conditions. The characteristic quantities were extracted from operation data of the submersible linear motor. A diagnostic model based on the support vector machine (SVM) method was proposed for identifying the working condition of the submersible pumping unit, where the inputs of the SVM classifier were the characteristic quantities. The performance and the misjudgment rate of this method were analyzed and validated by the data acquired from an experimental simulation platform. The model proposed had an excellent performance in failure diagnosis of the submersible pumping system. The SVM classifier had higher diagnostic accuracy than the learning vector quantization (LVQ) classifier. 展开更多

As water scarcity is becoming a growing threat to human development, finding effective solutions has become an urgent need. To make better use of water resources, seawater desalination and storage systems using renewable energy sources(RES) are designed and implemented around the world. In this paper, an optimal capacity planning method for RES-pumped storage-seawater desalination(RES-PS-D) system is introduced. The configuration of the RES-PS-D system is clarified first, after which a cost-benefit analysis is performed using all cost and benefit components. A function for determining maximum economic benefits of the RES-PS-D system is then established, and the constraints are proposed based on various limitations. The mixed-integer linear programming algorithm is applied to solve the optimal function. A case study is introduced to validate the feasibility and effectiveness of the method. The conclusion shows that the strategy is suitable for solving the configuration optimization problem, and finally both merits and defects of the method are discussed. 展开更多

Aiming at the shortages of conceptual design, introducing the theory of inventive problem solving (TRIZ) into the mechanical product design for producing innovative ideas, and using the advanced computer-aided technique, the intelligent decision support system (IDSS) based on TRIZ (TRIZ-IDSS) has been constructed. The construction method, system structure, conceptual production, decisionmaking and evaluation of the problem solving subsystem are discussed. The innovative conceptual design of pumping units indicates that the system can help the engineers open up a new space of thinking, overcome the thinking inertia, and put forward innovative design concepts. The accurate and intelligent identification of the working conditions of a sucker-rod pumping system is necessary. As onshore oil extraction gradually enters its mid-to late-stage, the cost required to train a deep learning working condition recognition model for pumping wells by obtaining enough new working condition samples is expensive. For the few-shot problem and large calculation issues of new working conditions of oil wells, a working condition recognition method for pumping unit wells based on a 4-dimensional time-frequency signature (4D-TFS) and meta-learning convolutional shrinkage neural network (ML-CSNN) is proposed. First, the measured pumping unit well workup data are converted into 4D-TFS data, and the initial feature extraction task is performed while compressing the data. Subsequently, a convolutional shrinkage neural network (CSNN) with a specific structure that can ablate low-frequency features is designed to extract working conditions features. Finally, a meta-learning fine-tuning framework for learning the network parameters that are susceptible to task changes is merged into the CSNN to solve the few-shot issue. The results of the experiments demonstrate that the trained ML-CSNN has good recognition accuracy and generalization ability for few-shot working condition recognition. More specifically, in the case of lower computational complexity, only few-shot samples are needed to fine-tune the network parameters, and the model can be quickly adapted to new classes of well conditions. 展开更多

Then the servo system control problem is transferred into the problem of robust performance optimizing under regional poles constrains described by linear matrix inequality (LMI). These LMIs are easy to solve through the Matlab LMI-toolbox. Simulations indicate that the controller has excellent dynamic, static and disturbance rejection performance, and the control system is robust and has perfect H2 performance to the bounded external torque disturbance. 展开更多

In order to study marine steam generator feedwater control systems which use parallel turbine-driven feed pumps, a mathematical model of marine steam generator feedwater control system was developed which includes mathematical models of two steam generators and parallel turbine-driven feed pumps as well as mathematical models of feedwater pipes and feed regulating valves. The operating condition points of the parallel ttu-bine-driven feed pumps were calculated by the Chebyshev curve fit method. A water level controller for the steam generator and a rotary speed controller for the turbine-driven feed pumps were also included in the model. The accuracy of the mathematical models and their controllers was verified by comparing their results with those from a simulator. 展开更多

A control unit for the fuel quantity and timing in crankshaft domain is designed on this basis and the engine experiment test has been done. For the constant speed camshaft driving EUP system, the fuel quantity will increase as the supply angle goes up and injection timing has no effect. The control precision can reach 1°CA. With the counter propagated 780nm and 776nm laser beams acting on a rubidium vapor cell, the high resolution spectrum of 5S1/2 - 5P3/2 - 5D5/2 ladder-type transition of ST Rb atoms is obtained by monitoring the population of the 5S1/2 ground state. The dependence of the spectroscopy lineshape on the probe and coupling fields are comprehensively studied in theory and experiment. With the typ- ical parameters of a GaAs/AlGaAs heterostructure, the simultaneous negative relative electric permittivity and magnetic permeability are obtained by the adjustable incoherent pumping field and two inter-dot tunnelings. Furthermore, three zero-absorption windows in the left-handedness frequency bands are observed. The left- handedness with zero-absorption in the solid state heterostrueture may solve the challenges not only in the left-handed materials achieved by the photonic resonant scheme but also in the application of negative refractive materials with a large amount of absorption. 展开更多

We study the wear-induced material loss of the pump components and the impact of this material loss on the volumetric efficiency. The results are combined with an established backflow model to implement a backflow calculation procedure that is adaptive to wear. We use a laboratory test setup with a highly abrasive fluid and operate a pump from new to worn condition to validate our approach. The obtained measurement data show that the presented virtual sensor is capable of calculating the flow rate of a pump being subject to wear during its regular operation. 展开更多
