One of the detection objectives of the Chinese Asteroid Exploration mission is to investigate the space environment near the Main-belt Comet(MBC,Active Asteroid)311P/PANSTARRS.This paper outlines the scientific objectives,measurement targets,and measurement requirements for the proposed Gas and Ion Analyzer(GIA).The GIA is designed for in-situ mass spectrometry of neutral gases and low-energy ions,such as hydrogen,carbon,and oxygen,in the vicinity of 311P.Ion sampling techniques are essential for the GIA's Time-of-Flight(TOF)mass analysis capabilities.In this paper,we present an enhanced ion sampling technique through the development of an ion attraction model and an ion source model.The ion attraction model demonstrates that adjusting attraction grid voltage can enhance the detection efficiency of low-energy ions and mitigate the repulsive force of ions during sampling,which is influenced by the satellite's surface positive charging.The ion source model simulates the processes of gas ionization and ion multiplication.Simulation results indicate that the GIA can achieve a lower pressure limit below 10-13Pa and possess a dynamic range exceeding 10~9.These performances ensure the generation of ions with stable and consistent current,which is crucial for high-resolution and broad dynamic range mass spectrometer analysis.Preliminary testing experiments have verified GIA's capability to detect gas compositions such as H2O and N2.In-situ measurements near 311P using GIA are expected to significantly contribute to our understanding of asteroid activity mechanisms,the evolution of the atmospheric and ionized environments of main-belt comets,the interactions with solar wind,and the origin of Earth's water. 展开更多

As a production quality index of hematite grinding process,particle size(PS)is hard to be measured in real time.To achieve the PS estimation,this paper proposes a novel data driven model of PS using stochastic configuration network(SCN)with robust technique,namely,robust SCN(RSCN).Firstly,this paper proves the universal approximation property of RSCN with weighted least squares technique.Secondly,three robust algorithms are presented by employing M-estimation with Huber loss function,M-estimation with interquartile range(IQR)and nonparametric kernel density estimation(NKDE)function respectively to set the penalty weight.Comparison experiments are first carried out based on the UCI standard data sets to verify the effectiveness of these methods,and then the data-driven PS model based on the robust algorithms are established and verified.Experimental results show that the RSCN has an excellent performance for the PS estimation. 展开更多

A new meso-mechanical testing scheme based on SEM was developed to carry out the experiment of microfracturing process of rocks. The microfracturing process of the pre-crack marble sample on surrounding rock in the immerged Long-big tunnel in Jinping Cascade II Hydropower Station under uniaxial compression was recorded by using the testing scheme. According to the stereology theory, the propagation and coalescent of cracks at meso-scale were quantitatively investigated with digital technology. Therefore, the basic geometric information of rock microcracks such as area, angle, length, width, perimeter, was obtained from binary images after segmentation. The failure mechanism of specimen under uniaxial compression with the quantitative information was studied from macro and microscopic point of view. The results show that the image of microfracturing process of the specimen can be observed and recorded digitally. During the damage of the specimen, the distribution of microcracks in the specimen is still subjected to exponential distribution with some microcracks concentrated in certain regions. Finally, the change law of the fractal dimension of the local element in marble sample under different external load conditions is obtained by means of the statistical calculation of the fractal dimension. 展开更多

Unlike many other softwar... DQPSK modem has been chosen as the modem scheme in many mobile communication systems. A new signal processing technique of π/4-DQPSK modem based on software radio is discussed in this paper. Unlike many other software radio solutions to the subject, we choose a universal digital radio baseband processor operating as the co-processor of DSP. Only the core algorithms for signal processing are implemented with DSP. Thus the computation burden on DSP is reduced significantly. Compared with the traditional ones, the technique mentioned in this paper is more promising and attractive. It is extremely compact and power-efficient, which is often required by a mobile communication system. The implementation of baseband signal processing for π/4-DQPSK modem on this platform is illustrated in detail. Special emphases are laid on the architecture of the system and the algorithms used in the baseband signal processing. Finally, some experimental results are presented and the performances of the signal processing and compensation algorithms are evaluated through computer simulations. 展开更多

Utilizing the acoustic emission(AE) technique, an experimental investigation into the damage evolution for steel strand under axial tension was described. The damage evolution model for steel stand relating the damage evolution to acoustic emission parameters was proposed by incorporating the AE rate process theory. The AE monitoring results indicate that damages occur in both elastic and plastic phases of steel strand. In elastic phase, AE signals are mainly sent out from the micro damage due to the surface friction among the wires of steel strand, while in plastic phase, AE signals emitted from the plastic deformation of wires. In addition, the AE cumulative parameters curves closely resemble the loading curve. The AE cumulative parameters curves can well describe the damage evolution process including the damage occurrence and damage development for steel strands. It is concluded that the AE technique is an effective and useful nondestructive technique for evaluating the damage characteristics of steel strand. 展开更多

These tables are implemented using column-based techniques and are used to store graphs of database, frequent sub-graphs and the neighborhood of nodes. In order to exact checking of remaining graphs, the vertex invariant is used for isomorphism test which can be parallel implemented. The gears of new energy vehicles are required to withstand higher rotational speeds and greater loads,which puts forward higher precision essentials for gear manufacturing.However,machining process parameters can cause changes in cutting force/heat,resulting in affecting gear machining precision.Therefore,this paper studies the effect of different process parameters on gear machining precision.A multi-objective optimization model is established for the relationship between process parameters and tooth surface deviations,tooth profile deviations,and tooth lead deviations through the cutting speed,feed rate,and cutting depth of the worm wheel gear grinding machine.The response surface method(RSM)is used for experimental design,and the corresponding experimental results and optimal process parameters are obtained.Subsequently,gray relational analysis-principal component analysis(GRA-PCA),particle swarm optimization(PSO),and genetic algorithm-particle swarm optimization(GA-PSO)methods are used to analyze the experimental results and obtain different optimal process parameters.The results show that optimal process parameters obtained by the GRA-PCA,PSO,and GA-PSO methods improve the gear machining precision.Moreover,the gear machining precision obtained by GA-PSO is superior to other methods. 展开更多

We describe a novel lab based X-ray computed tomography system based on the architecture of X-ray Microscopes (XRM) used in synchrotron radiation facilities to be adapted for mineral processing and mineral liberation analysis. As this is a tomographic technique performed with an XRM, it is non-destructive and does not require complex preparation of polished sections typical of SEM-EDS techniques (such as MLA and QEMSCAN). It complements these existing techniques by providing 3D information and mineral liberation of multi-phase particles with much larger sample volume statistics but at a fraction of the time. In several applications, the technique is superior. These include the characterization of tailing loss in precious minerals; the characterization of porosity, particle size distribution, crack and pore network analysis during comminution, heap leaching and for texture and exposure/lock class analysis for floatation. 展开更多

Applying bio-oxidation waste solution(BOS)to chemical-biological two-stage oxidation process can significantly improve the bio-oxidation efficiency of arsenopyrite.This study aims to clarify the enhanced oxidation mechanism of arsenopyrite by evaluating the effects of physical and chemical changes of arsenopyrite in BOS chemical oxidation stage on mineral dissolution kinetics,as well as microbial growth activity and community structure composition in bio-oxidation stage.The results showed that the chemical oxidation contributed to destroying the physical and chemical structure of arsenopyrite surface and reducing the particle size,and led to the formation of nitrogenous substances on mineral surface.These chemical oxidation behaviors effectively promoted Fe^(3+)cycling in the bio-oxidation system and weakened the inhibitory effect of the sulfur film on ionic diffusion,thereby enhancing the dissolution kinetics of the arsenopyrite.Therefore,the bio-oxidation efficiency of arsenopyrite was significantly increased in the two-stage oxidation process.After 18 d,the two-stage oxidation process achieved total extraction rates of(88.8±2.0)%,(86.7±1.3)%,and(74.7±3.0)%for As,Fe,and S elements,respectively.These values represented a significant increase of(50.8±3.4)%,(47.1±2.7)%,and(46.0±0.7)%,respectively,compared to the one-stage bio-oxidation process. 展开更多

By combining with an improved model on engraving process,a two-phase flow interior ballistic model has been proposed to accurately predict the flow and energy conversion behaviors of pyrotechnic actuators.Using computational fluid dynamics(CFD),the two-phase flow and piston engraving characteristics of a pyrotechnic actuator are investigated.Initially,the current model was utilized to examine the intricate,multi-dimensional flow,and energy conversion characteristics of the propellant grains and combustion gas within the pyrotechnic actuator chamber.It was discovered that the combustion gas on the wall's constant transition from potential to kinetic energy,along with the combined effect of the propellant motion,are what create the pressure oscillation within the chamber.Additionally,a numerical analysis was conducted to determine the impact of various parameters on the pressure oscillation and piston motion,including pyrotechnic charge,pyrotechnic particle size,and chamber structural dimension.The findings show that decreasing the pyrotechnic charge will lower the terminal velocity,while increasing and decreasing the pyrotechnic particle size will reduce the pressure oscillation in the chamber.The pyrotechnic particle size has minimal bearing on the terminal velocity.The results of this investigation offer a trustworthy forecasting instrument for comprehending and creating pyrotechnic actuator designs. 展开更多

Laser powder-bed fusion(LPBF)of Zn-0.8Cu(wt.%)alloys exhibits significant advantages in the customization of biodegradable bone implants.However,the formability of LPBFed Zn alloy is not sufficient due to the spheroidization during the interaction of powder and laser beam,of which the mechanism is still not well understood.In this study,the evolution of morphology and grain structure of the LPBFed Zn-Cu alloy was investigated based on single-track deposition experiments.As the scanning speed increases,the grain structure of a single track of Zn-Cu alloy gradually refines,but the formability deteriorates,leading to the defect’s formation in the subsequent fabrication.The Zn-Cu alloys fabricated by optimum processing parameters exhibit a tensile strength of 157.13 MPa,yield strength of 106.48 MPa and elongation of 14.7%.This work provides a comprehensive understanding of the processing optimization of Zn-Cu alloy,achieving LPBFed Zn-Cu alloy with high density and excellent mechanical properties. 展开更多

This letter presents two preprocessing techniques for narrow-band interference (NBI) rejection in Time- Division-Duplex (TDD) CDMA systems. In the proposed methods, at the transmitter, by using Karhaunen-Loeve Transform and Discrete Fourier Transform, the transmitted power is set to zero in the directions of the eigenvectors that will be severely contaminated by NBI; and therefore less part of the transmitted energy will be polluted by NBI in channel. The processing is transferred from receiver to transmitter, and thus the complexity of the receiver is significantly reduced. It is assumed that channel state information can be estimated at the transmitter because in symmetric TDD systems each receiver in turn also acts as a transmitter. 展开更多

This study focused on the production of polypropylene(PP)/silver(Ag)composites via additive manufacturing.This study aimed to enhance the quality of medical-grade PP in material extrusion(MEX)three-dimensional printing(3DP)by improving its mechanical properties while simultaneously adding antibacterial properties.The latter can find extremely important and versatile properties that are applicable in defense and security domains.PP/Ag nanocomposites were prepared using a novel method based on a reaction occurring while mixing appropriate quantities of the starting polymers and additives,namely polyvinylpyrrolidone(PVP)as the matrix material and silver nitrate(AgNO_(3))as the filler.This process produced three-dimensional(3D)printed filaments,which were then used to create specimens for a series of standardized tests.It was found that the mechanical properties of the nanocomposites were enhanced in relation to pristine PP,especially for the PP matrix with various loadings of AgNO_(3)and PVP,such as 5.0 wt%and 2.5 wt%,respectively.The voids,inclusions,and actual-to-nominal dimensions also showed improved results.The 3DP specimens exhibited a more effective biocidal performance against Staphylococcus aureus than Escherichia coli,which developed an inhibition zone only in the case of PP with filler loading percentages of AgNO_(3)and PVP at 10.0 wt%and 5.0 wt%,respectively Compounds possessing such properties can be beneficial for various applications requiring increased mechanical properties and biocidal capabilities,such as in the Defence or medical industries. 展开更多

However, the conventional weighted H∞design does not meet the conditions required by lifting, so the result often leads to a misjudgement of the design. Two conditions required by using the lifting technique are presented based on the basic formulae of the lifting. It is pointed out that only the H∞disturbance attenuation problem with no weighting functions can meet these conditions, hence, the application of the lifting technique is quite limited. 展开更多
