The fault detection problem for the nonlinear networked control system (NCS) with packet dropout and delay is investigated. A nonlinear stochastic system model is proposed to account for the NCS with random packet dropout and network- induced non-uniformly distributed time-varying delay in both from sensor to controller (S/C) and from controller to actuator (C/A). Based on the obtained NCS model, employing an observer-based fault detection filter as the residual generator, the addressed fault detection problem is converted into an auxiliary nonlinear H∞ control problem. Then, with the help of Lyapunov functional approach, a sufficient condition for the desired fault detection filter is constructed in terms of certain linear matrix inequalities, which depend on not only the delay interval but also the delay interval occurrence rate and successful packet communication rate. Especially, a trade-off phenomenon between the maximum allowable delay bound and successful data packet transmission rate is found, which is typically resulted from the limited bandwidth of communication networks. The effectiveness of the proposed method is demonstrated by a simulation example. 展开更多

First, assume that an agent receives state information from its neighbors with fixed communication delays and processes its own state information with time-varying self-delay respectively. The state time-delay feedback is introduced into the existing consensus protocol to begenerate an improved protocol. Then a sufficient condition is derived which can make the system with time-varying self-delays achieve the consensus. On this basis, a specific form of consensus equilibrium influenced by the initial states of agents, time-delays and state feedback intensity is figured out. In addition, the multi-agent consensus is considered with time-varying topologies. Finally, simulations are presented to il ustrate the validity of theoretical results. 展开更多

The new method which uses the consensus algorithm to solve the coordinate control problems of multiple unmanned underwater vehicles (multi-UUVs) formation in the case of leader-following is adapted. As the communication between the UUVs is difficult and it is easy to be interfered under the water, time delay is assumed to be time-varying during the members communicate with each other. Meanwhile, the state feedback linearization method is used to transfer the nonlinear and coupling model of UUV into double-integrator dynamic. With this simplified double-integrator math model, the UUV formation coordinate control is regarded as consensus problem with time-varying communication delays. In addition, the position and velocity topologies are adapted to reduce the data volume in each data packet which is sent between members in formation. With two independent topologies designed, two cases of communication delay which are same and different are considered and the sufficient conditions are proposed and analyzed. The stability of the multi-UUVs formation is proven by using Lyapunov-Razumilkhin theorem. Finally, the simulation results are presented to confirm and illustrate the theoretical results. 展开更多

Small signal instability may cause severe accidents for power system if it can not be dear correctly and timely. How to maintain power system stable under small signal disturbance is a big challenge for power system operators and dispatchers. Time delay existing in signal transmission process makes the problem more complex. Conventional eigenvalue analysis method neglects time delay influence and can not precisely describe power system dynamic behaviors. In this work, a modified small signal stability model considering time varying delay influence was constructed and a new time delay controller was proposed to stabilize power system under disturbance. By Lyapunov-Krasovskii function, the control law in the form of nonlinear matrix inequality (NLMI) was derived. Considering synthesis method limitation for time delay controller at present, both parameter adjustment method by using linear matrix inequality (LMI) solver and iteration searching method by solving nonlinear minimization problem were suggested to design the controller. Simulation tests were carried out on synchronous-machine infinite-bus power system. Satisfactory test results verify the correctness of the proposed model and the feasibility of the stabilization approach. 展开更多

Based on the model, an observer-based residual generator is constructed and the sufficient condition for the existence of the desired fault detection filter is derived in terms of the linear matrix inequality. Furthermore, a time domain opti- mization approach is proposed to improve the performance of the fault detection system. To prevent the false alarms, a new thresh- old function is established, and the solution of the optimization problem is given by using the singular value decomposition (SVD) of the matrix. Based on the delay-independent rule, the problem of optimal guaranteed cost control for a class of Takagi-Sugeno (T-S) fuzzy descriptor systems with time-varying delay is studied. A linear quadratic cost function is considered as the performance index of the closed-loop system. Sufficient conditions for the existence of guaranteed cost controllers via state feedback are given in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs), and the design of an optimal guaranteed cost controller can be reduced to a convex optimization problem. It is shown that the designed controller not only guarantees the asymptotic stability of the closed-loop fuzzy descriptor delay system, but also provides an optimized upper bound of the guaranteed cost. At last, a numerical example is given to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed method and the perfect performance of the optimal guaranteed cost controller. 展开更多

A consensus-distributed fault-tolerant(CDFT)control law is proposed for a class of leader-following multi-vehicle cooperative attack(MVCA)systems in this paper.In particular,the switching communication topologies,stochastic multi-hop timevarying delays,and actuator faults are considered,which may lead to system performance degradation or on certain occasions even cause system instability.Firstly,the estimator of actuator faults for the following vehicle is designed to identify the actuator faults under a fixed topology.Then the CDFT control protocol and trajectory following error are derived by the relevant content of Lyapunov stability theory,the graph theory,and the matrix theory.The CDFT control protocol is proposed in the same manner,where a more realistic scenario is considered,in which the maximum trajectory following error and information on the switching topologies during the cooperative attack are available.Finally,numerical simulation are carried out to indicate that the proposed distributed fault-tolerant(DFT)control law is effective. 展开更多

Firstly, the weighted H∞ performance index is utilized as the robustness performance, and the H- index is used as the sensitivity performance for obtaining the robust fault detection filter. Then a novel multiple Lyapunov-Krasovskii function is proposed for deriving sufficient existence conditions of the robust fault detection filter based on the average dwell time technique. By introducing slack matrix variable, the coupling between the Lyapunov matrix and system matrix is removed, and the conservatism of results is reduced. Based on the robust fault detection filter, residual is generated and evaluated for detecting faults. In addition, the results of this paper are dependent on time delays,and represented in the form of linear matrix inequalities. Finally,the simulation example verifies the effectiveness of the proposed method. 展开更多

Meanwhile, the proposed delayed state feedback stabilization criteria are more convenient in application than the existing ones since fewer tuning parameters are involved. The problem of delay-dependent exponential stability is investigated for impulsive stochastic systems with time-varying delay. Although the exponential stability of impulsive stochastic delay systems has been discussed by several authors, few works have been done on delay-dependent exponential stability of impulsive stochastic delay systems. Firstly, the Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional method combing the free-weighting matrix approach is applied to investigate this problem. Some delay-dependent mean square exponential stability criteria are derived in terms of linear matrix inequalities. In particular, the estimate of the exponential convergence rate is also provided, which depends on system parameters and impulsive effects. The obtained results show that the system will stable if the impulses' frequency and amplitude are suitably related to the increase or decrease of the continuous flows, and impulses may be used as controllers to stabilize the underlying stochastic system. Numerical examples are given to show the effectiveness of the results. 展开更多

Besides, the decay rate has no conventional constraint and can be selected according to different practical conditions. The less conservative delaydependent stability criteria for this system are proposed by applying new Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional and novel polynomials with time-varying delay (PTVD) compensation technique. The aim to deal with systems with fast-varying neutral-type delay can be achieved by using the new functional. The benefit brought by applying the PTVD compensation technique is that some useful elements can be included in criteria, which are generally ignored when estimating the upper bound of derivative of Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional. This paper studies delay dependent robust stability and the stabilization problem of nonlinear perturbed systems with time varying delay. A new set of sufficient conditions for the stability of open as well as close loop systems are obtained in the sense of Lyapunov-Krasovskii. To reduce the conservatism, the work exploits the idea of splitting the delay interval into multiple equal regions so that less information on the time delay can be imposed to derive the results. The derived criterion not only improves the upper bounds of the time delay but also does not require the derivative of the delay to be known at prior. Easily testable sufficient criteria are presented in terms of linear matrix inequalities. It is shown that the derived conditions are very less conservative while comparing the maximum allowable upper bound of delay with the existing results in literature. 展开更多

The main idea aims at designing a state-feedback controller such that for a time-varying delay in states, the linear system with nonlinear perturbation remains robustly stable and passive. In the system, the delay is time-varying. And the derivation of delay has the maximum and minimum value. The time-varying nonlinear perturbation is allowed to be norm-bounded. Using the effective linear matrix inequality methodology, the sufficient condition is primarily obtained for the system to have robust stability and passivity. Subsequently the existent condition of a state feedback controller is given, and the explicit expression of the controller is obtained by means of the solution of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). In the end, a numerical example is given to demonstrate the validity and applicability of the proposed approach. 展开更多
