To improve oil recovery for low permeability reservoirs, a highly efficient emulsification oil flooding system consisting of anionic surfactant sodium alkyl glucosyl hydroxypropyl sulfonate(APGSHS) and zwitterionic surfactant octadecyl betaine(BS-18) is proposed. The performance of APGSHS/BS-18 mixed surfactant system was evaluated in terms of interfacial tension, emulsification capability, emulsion size and distribution, wettability alteration, temperature-resistance and salt-resistance. The emulsification speed was used to evaluate the emulsification ability of surfactant systems, and the results show that mixed surfactant systems can completely emulsify the crude oil into emulsions droplets even under low energy conditions. Meanwhile, the system exhibits good temperature and salt resistance. Finally, the best oil recovery of 25.45% is achieved for low permeability core by the mixed surfactant system with a total concentration of 0.3 wt%while the molar ratio of APGSHS:BS-18 is 4:6. The current study indicates that the anionic/zwitterionic mixed surfactant system can improve the oil flooding efficiency and is potential candidate for application in low permeability reservoirs.展开更多

The retrograde vaporization mechanism observed in this type of gas condensate reservoir differs significantly from that observed in sand gas condensate reservoirs. However, studies on improving the recovery of fractured gas condensate reservoirs are limited;thus, the impact of retrograde vaporization on condensate within fractured metamorphic buried-hill reservoirs remains unclear. To address this gap, a series of gas injection experiments are conducted in pressure-volume-temperature(PVT) cells and long-cores to investigate the retrograde vaporization effect of condensate using different gas injection media in fractured gas condensate reservoirs. We analyze the variation in condensate volume, gas-to-oil ratio, and condensate recovery during gas injection and examine the influence of various gas injection media(CO_(2), N_(2), and dry gas) under different reservoir properties and varying gas injection times. The results demonstrate that the exchange of components between injected gas and condensate significantly influences condensate retrograde vaporization in the formation. Compared with dry gas injection and N_(2) injection,CO_(2) injection exhibits a superior retrograde vaporization effect. At a CO_(2) injection volume of 1 PV, the percentage shrinkage volume of condensate is 13.82%. Additionally, at the maximum retrograde condensation pressure, CO_(2) injection can increase the recovery of condensate by 22.4%. However, the condensate recovery is notably lower in fractured gas condensate reservoirs than in homogeneous reservoirs, owing to the creation of dominant gas channeling by fractures, which leads to decreased condensate recovery. Regarding gas injection timing, the effect of gas injection at reservoir pressure on improving condensate recovery is superior to that of gas injection at the maximum retrograde condensation pressure. This research provides valuable guidance for designing gas injection development plans and dynamic tracking adjustments for fractured gas condensate reservoirs.展开更多

In fact, sandstone reservoirs in China's onshore oilfields generally have the characteristics of thin and many layers, so multi-layer joint production is usually adopted. It remains a challenge to ensure the accuracy of splitting and dynamic connectivity in each layer of the injection-production wells with limited field data. The three-dimensional well pattern of multi-layer reservoir and the relationship between injection-production wells can be equivalent to a directional heterogeneous graph. In this paper, an improved graph neural network is proposed to construct an interacting process mimics the real interwell flow regularity. In detail, this method is used to split injection and production rates by combining permeability, porosity and effective thickness, and to invert the dynamic connectivity in each layer of the injection-production wells by attention mechanism.Based on the material balance and physical information, the overall connectivity from the injection wells, through the water injection layers to the production layers and the output of final production wells is established. Meanwhile, the change of well pattern caused by perforation, plugging and switching of wells at different times is achieved by updated graph structure in spatial and temporal ways. The effectiveness of the method is verified by a combination of reservoir numerical simulation examples and field example. 文摘This paper discusses the characteristics and formation mechanism of thin dolomite reservoirs in the lower submember of the second member of the Permian Maokou Formation(lower Mao 2 Member)in the Wusheng-Tongnan area of the Sichuan Basin,SW China, through comprehensive analysis of geological, geophysical and geochemical data. The reservoir rocks of the lower Mao 2 Member are dominated by porphyritic vuggy dolomite and calcareous dolomite or dolomitic limestone, which have typical karst characteristics of early diagenetic stage. The dolomites at the edge of the karst system and in the fillings have dissolved estuaries, and the dolomite breccia has micrite envelope and rim cement at the edge, indicating that dolomitization is earlier than the early diagenetic karstification. The shoal facies laminated dolomite is primarily formed by the seepage reflux dolomitization of moderate-salinity seawater. The key factors of reservoir formation are the bioclastic shoal deposition superimposed with seepgae reflux dolomitization and the karstification of early diagenetic stage, which are locally reformed by fractures and hydrothermal processes. The development of dolomite vuggy reservoir is closely related to the upward-shallowing sequence, and mainly occurs in the late highstand of the fourth-order cycle. Moreover, the size of dolomite is closely related to formation thickness, and it is concentrated in the formation thickness conversion area, followed by the thinner area.According to the understanding of insufficient accommodation space in the geomorphic highland and the migration of granular shoal to geomorphic lowland in the late highstand of the third-order cycle,it is proposed that the large-scale shoal-controlled dolomite reservoirs are distributed along structural highs and slopes, and the reservoir-forming model with shoal, dolomitization and karstification jointly controlled by the microgeomorphy and sea-level fluctuation in the sedimentary period is established. On this basis, the paleogeomorphology in the lower Mao 2 Member is restored using well-seismic data, and the reservoir distribution is predicted. The prediction results have been verified by the latest results of exploration wells and tests, which provide an important reference for the prediction of thin dolomite reservoirs under similar geological setting.

文摘Using the ultra-low permeability reservoirs in the L block of the Jiangsu oilfield as an example,a series of experiments, including slim tube displacement experiments of CO_(2)-oil system, injection capacity experiments, and high-temperature,high-pressure online nuclear magnetic resonance(NMR)displacement experiments, are conducted to reveal the oil/gas mass transfer pattern and oil production mechanisms during CO_(2) flooding in ultra-low permeability reservoirs. The impacts of CO_(2) storage pore range and miscibility on oil production and CO_(2) storage characteristics during CO_(2) flooding are clarified. The CO_(2) flooding process is divided into three stages:oil displacement stage by CO_(2),CO_(2) breakthrough stage,CO_(2) extraction stage.Crude oil expansion and viscosity reduction are the main mechanisms for improving recovery in the CO_(2) displacement stage. After CO_(2) breakthrough, the extraction of light components from the crude oil further enhances oil recovery.During CO_(2) flooding, the contribution of crude oil in large pores to the enhanced recovery exceeds 46%,while crude oil in medium pores serves as a reserve for incremental recovery. After CO_(2) breakthrough,a small portion of the crude oil is extracted and carried into nano-scale pores by CO_(2),becoming residual oil that is hard to recover. As the miscibility increases, the CO_(2) front moves more stably and sweeps a larger area, leading to increased CO_(2) storage range and volume. The CO_(2) full-storage stage contributes the most to the overall CO_(2) storage volume. In the CO_(2) escape stage, the storage mechanism involves partial in-situ storage of crude oil within the initial pore range and the CO_(2) carrying crude oil into smaller pores to increase the volume of stored CO_(2).In the CO_(2) leakage stage,as crude oil is produced,a significant amount of CO_(2) leaks out, causing a sharp decline in the storage efficiency.

文摘This study comprehensively uses various methods such as production dynamic analysis, fluid inclusion thermometry and carbon-oxygen isotopic compositions testing, based on outcrop,core,well-logging,3D seismic, geochemistry experiment and production test data,to systematically explore the control mechanisms of structure and fluid on the scale, quality, effectiveness and connectivity of ultra-deep fault-controlled carbonate fractured-vuggy reservoirs in the Tarim Basin. The results show that reservoir scale is influenced by strike-slip fault scale, structural position, and mechanical stratigraphy.Larger faults tend to correspond to larger reservoir scales. The reservoir scale of contractional overlaps is larger than that of extensional overlaps, while pure strike-slip segments are small. The reservoir scale is enhanced at fault intersection, bend, and tip segments.Vertically, the heterogeneity of reservoir development is controlled by mechanical stratigraphy, with strata of higher brittleness indices being more conducive to the development of fractured-vuggy reservoirs.Multiple phases of strike-slip fault activity and fluid alterations contribute to fractured-vuggy reservoir effectiveness evolution and heterogeneity.Meteoric water activity during the Late Caledonian to Early Hercynian period was the primary phase of fractured-vuggy reservoir formation.Hydrothermal activity in the Late Hercynian period further intensified the heterogeneity of effective reservoir space distribution. The study also reveals that fractured-vuggy reservoir connectivity is influenced by strike-slip fault structural position and present in-situ stress field. The reservoir connectivity of extensional overlaps is larger than that of pure strike-slip segments, while contractional overlaps show worse reservoir connectivity.Additionally,fractured-vuggy reservoirs controlled by strike-slip faults that are nearly parallel to the present in-situ stress direction exhibit excellent connectivity.Overall,high-quality reservoirs are distributed at the fault intersection of extensional overlaps, the central zones of contractional overlaps, pinnate fault zones at intersection, bend, and tip segments of pure strike-slip segments.Vertically, they are concentrated in mechanical stratigraphy with high brittleness indices.

文摘Considering the three typical phase-change related rock mechanics phenomena during drilling and production in oil and gas reservoirs, which include phase change of solid alkane-related mixtures upon heating, sand liquefaction induced by sudden pressure release of the over-pressured sand body, and formation collapse due to gasification of pore fillings from pressure reduction, this study first systematically analyzes the progress of theoretical understanding, experimental methods, and mathematical representation, then discusses the engineering application scenarios corresponding to the three phenomena and reveals the mechanical principles and application effectiveness.Based on these research efforts, the study further discusses the significant challenges, potential developmental trends, and research approaches that require urgent exploration. The findings disclose that various phase-related rock mechanics phenomena require specific experimental and mathematical methods that can produce multi-field coupling mechanical mechanisms, which will eventually instruct the control on resource exploitation, evaluation on disaster level, and analysis of formation stability. To meet the development needs of the principle, future research efforts should focus on mining more phase-change related rock mechanics phenomena during oil and gas resources exploitation, developing novel experimental equipment, and using techniques of artificial intelligence and digital twins to implement real-time simulation and dynamic visualization of phase-change related rock mechanics.

文摘Based on the experimental results of casting thin section, low temperature nitrogen adsorption, high pressure mercury injection, nuclear magnetic resonance T2 spectrum, contact angle and oil-water interfacial tension, the relationship between pore throat structure and crude oil mobility characteristics of full particle sequence reservoirs in the Lower Permian Fengcheng Formation of Mahu Sag,Junggar Basin, are revealed.(1)With the decrease of reservoir particle size, the volume of pores connected by large throats and the volume of large pores show a decreasing trend, and the distribution and peak ranges of throat and pore radius shift to smaller size in an orderly manner. The upper limits of throat radius, porosity and permeability of unconventional reservoirs in Fengcheng Formation are approximately 0.7μm,8%and 0.1×10^(−3)μm^(2),respectively.(2)As the reservoir particle size decreases, the distribution and peak ranges of pores hosting retained oil and movable oil are shifted to a smaller size in an orderly manner. With the increase of driving pressure, the amount of retained and movable oil of the larger particle reservoir samples shows a more obvious trend of decreasing and increasing,respectively.(3)With the increase of throat radius, the driving pressure of reservoir with different particle levels presents three stages, namely rapid decrease, slow decrease and stabilization. The oil driving pressures of various reservoirs and the differences of them decrease with the increase of temperature and obviously decrease with the increase of throat radius.According to the above experimental analysis,it is concluded that the deep shale oil of Fengcheng Formation in Mahu Sag has great potential for production under geological conditions.

文摘Deep and ultra-deep reservoirs have gradually become the primary focus of hydrocarbon exploration as a result of a series of significant discoveries in deep hydrocarbon exploration worldwide. These reservoirs present unique challenges due to their deep burial depth(4500-8882 m),low matrix permeability, complex crustal stress conditions, high temperature and pressure(HTHP,150-200℃,105-155 MPa),coupled with high salinity of formation water.Consequently, the costs associated with their exploitation and development are exceptionally high.In deep and ultra-deep reservoirs, hydraulic fracturing is commonly used to achieve high and stable production.During hydraulic fracturing,a substantial volume of fluid is injected into the reservoir. However, statistical analysis reveals that the flowback rate is typically less than 30%,leaving the majority of the fluid trapped within the reservoir. Therefore, hydraulic fracturing in deep reservoirs not only enhances the reservoir permeability by creating artificial fractures but also damages reservoirs due to the fracturing fluids involved. The challenging“three-high”environment of a deep reservoir, characterized by high temperature, high pressure, and high salinity, exacerbates conventional forms of damage, including water sensitivity, retention of fracturing fluids, rock creep, and proppant breakage. In addition, specific damage mechanisms come into play, such as fracturing fluid decomposition at elevated temperatures and proppant diagenetic reactions at HTHP conditions.Presently, the foremost concern in deep oil and gas development lies in effectively assessing the damage inflicted on these reservoirs by hydraulic fracturing, comprehending the underlying mechanisms, and selecting appropriate solutions. It's noteworthy that the majority of existing studies on reservoir damage primarily focus on conventional reservoirs, with limited attention given to deep reservoirs and a lack of systematic summaries. In light of this, our approach entails initially summarizing the current knowledge pertaining to the types of fracturing fluids employed in deep and ultra-deep reservoirs.Subsequently,we delve into a systematic examination of the damage processes and mechanisms caused by fracturing fluids within the context of hydraulic fracturing in deep reservoirs, taking into account the unique reservoir characteristics of high temperature, high pressure, and high in-situ stress. In addition,we provide an overview of research progress related to high-temperature deep reservoir fracturing fluid and the damage of aqueous fracturing fluids to rock matrix, both artificial and natural fractures, and sand-packed fractures. We conclude by offering a summary of current research advancements and future directions, which hold significant potential for facilitating the efficient development of deep oil and gas reservoirs while effectively mitigating reservoir damage.

文摘Based on the global basement reservoir database and the dissection of basement reservoirs in China, the characteristics of hydrocarbon accumulation in basement reservoirs are analyzed, and the favorable conditions for hydrocarbon accumulation in deep basement reservoirs are investigated to highlight the exploration targets. The discovered basement reservoirs worldwide are mainly buried in the Archean and Precambrian granitic and metamorphic formations with depths less than 4500 m,and the relatively large reservoirs have been found in rift,back-arc and foreland basins in tectonic active zones of the Meso-Cenozoic plates. The hydrocarbon accumulation in basement reservoirs exhibits the characteristics in three aspects.First, the porous-fractured reservoirs with low porosity and ultra-low permeability are dominant, where extensive hydrocarbon accumulation occurred during the weathering denudation and later tectonic reworking of the basin basement.High resistance to compaction allows the physical properties of these highly heterogeneous reservoirs to be independent of the buried depth.Second, the hydrocarbons were sourced from the formations outside the basement. The source-reservoir assemblages are divided into contacted source rock-basement and separated source rock-basement patterns.Third, the abnormal high pressure in the source rock and the normal–low pressure in the basement reservoirs cause a large pressure difference between the source rock and the reservoirs, which is conducive to the pumping effect of hydrocarbons in the deep basement. The deep basement prospects are mainly evaluated by the factors such as tectonic activity of basement,source-reservoir combination, development of large deep faults(especially strike-slip faults),and regional seals. The Precambrian crystalline basements at the margin of the intracontinental rifts in cratonic basins,as well as the Paleozoic folded basements and the Meso-Cenozoic fault-block basements adjacent to the hydrocarbon generation depressions, have favorable conditions for hydrocarbon accumulation, and thus they are considered as the main targets for future exploration of deep basement reservoirs.

文摘Emulsification is one of the important mechanisms of surfactant flooding. The current study indicates that the anionic/zwitterionic mixed surfactant system can improve the oil flooding efficiency and is potential candidate for application in low permeability reservoirs.

文摘At high cycles of steam huff&puff, oil distribution in reservoirs becomes stronger heterogeneity due to steam channeling.Thermal solidification agent can be used to solve this problem. Its solution is a lowviscosity liquid at normal temperature, but it can be solidified above 80℃.The plugging degree is up to 99%at 250℃.The sweep efficiency reaches 59.2%,which is 7.3%higher than pure steam injection. In addition, simultaneous injection of viscosity reducer and/or nitrogen foams can further enhance oil recovery. The mechanism of this technology depends on its strong plugging ability, which changes the flowing pattern of steam to effectively mobilize remaining oil.Viscosity reducer and nitrogen foams further expand the sweep range and extends the effective period. Therefore, thermal solidification agent can plug steam channeling paths and adjust steam flowing direction to significantly enhance oil recovery at high cycles of steam huff&puff.

文摘Based on new data from cores, drilling and logging, combined with extensive rock and mineral testing analysis,a systematic analysis is conducted on the characteristics, diagenesis types, genesis and controlling factors of deep to ultra-deep abnormally high porosity clastic rock reservoirs in the Oligocene Linhe Formation in the Hetao Basin. The reservoir space of the deep to ultra-deep clastic rock reservoirs in the Linhe Formation is mainly primary pores, and the coupling of three favorable diagenetic elements, namely the rock fabric with strong compaction resistance, weak thermal compaction diagenetic dynamic field, and diagenetic environment with weak fluid compaction-weak cementation,is conducive to the preservation of primary pores. The Linhe Formation clastic rocks have a superior preexisting material composition, with an average total content of 90%for quartz, feldspar, and rigid rock fragments, and strong resistance to compaction. The geothermal gradient in Linhe Depression in the range of(2.0–2.6)°C/100 m is low,and together with the burial history of long-term shallow burial and late rapid deep burial,it forms a weak thermal compaction diagenetic dynamic field environment. The diagenetic environment of the saline lake basin is characterized by weak fluid compaction. At the same time, the paleosalinity has zoning characteristics, and weak cementation in low salinity areas is conducive to the preservation of primary pores. The hydrodynamic conditions of sedimentation, salinity differentiation of ancient water in saline lake basins, and sand body thickness jointly control the distribution of high-quality reservoirs in the Linhe Formation.

文摘To reduce CO_(2) emissions in response to global climate change, shale reservoirs could be ideal candidates for long-term carbon geo-sequestration involving multi-scale transport processes. However, most current CO_(2) sequestration models do not adequately consider multiple transport mechanisms. Moreover, the evaluation of CO_(2) storage processes usually involves laborious and time-consuming numerical simulations unsuitable for practical prediction and decision-making.In this paper,an integrated model involving gas diffusion, adsorption, dissolution, slip flow, and Darcy flow is proposed to accurately characterize CO_(2) storage in depleted shale reservoirs, supporting the establishment of a training database. On this basis,a hybrid physics-informed data-driven neural network(HPDNN)is developed as a deep learning surrogate for prediction and inversion.By incorporating multiple sources of scientific knowledge, the HPDNN can be configured with limited simulation resources, significantly accelerating the forward and inversion processes.Furthermore, the HPDNN can more intelligently predict injection performance, precisely perform reservoir parameter inversion, and reasonably evaluate the CO_(2) storage capacity under complicated scenarios. The validation and test results demonstrate that the HPDNN can ensure high accuracy and strong robustness across an extensive applicability range when dealing with field data with multiple noise sources. This study has tremendous potential to replace traditional modeling tools for predicting and making decisions about CO_(2) storage projects in depleted shale reservoirs.

文摘Research on reservoir rock stress sensitivity has traditionally focused on unary granular structures, neglecting the binary nature of real reservoirs, especially tight reservoirs.Understanding the stresssensitive behavior and mathematical characterization of binary granular media remains a challenging task.In this study,we conducted online-NMR experiments to investigate the permeability and porosity evolution as well as stress-sensitive control mechanisms in tight sandy conglomerate samples. The results revealed stress sensitivity coefficients between 0.042 and 0.098 and permeability damage rates ranging from 65.6%to 90.9%,with an average pore compression coefficient of 0.0168—0.0208 MPa 1.Pore-scale compression occurred in three stages:filling, compression, and compaction, with matrix pores playing a dominant role in pore compression. The stress sensitivity of binary granular media was found to be influenced by the support structure and particle properties.High stress sensitivity was associated with small fine particle size, high fines content, high uniformity coefficient of particle size, high plastic deformation, and low Young's modulus.Matrix-supported samples exhibited a high irreversible permeability damage rate(average=74.2%)and stress sensitivity coefficients(average=0.089),with pore spaces more slit-like.In contrast,grain-supported samples showed low stress sensitivity coefficients(average=0.021)at high stress stages.Based on the experiments,we developed a mathematical model for stress sensitivity in binary granular media, considering binary granular properties and nested interactions using Hertz contact deformation and Poiseuille theory.By describing the change in activity content of fines under stress,we characterized the non-stationary state of compressive deformation in the binary granular structure and classified the reservoir into three categories. The model was applied for production prediction using actual data from the Mahu reservoir in China, showing that the energy retention rates of support-dominated,fill-dominated,and matrix-controlled reservoirs should be higher than 70.1%,88%,and 90.2%,respectively.

文摘Based on the geological and geophysical data of Mesozoic oil-gas exploration in the sea area of Bohai Bay Basin and the discovered high-yield volcanic oil and gas wells since 2019,this paper methodically summarizes the formation conditions of large-and medium-sized Cretaceous volcanic oil and gas reservoirs in the Bohai Sea.Research shows that the Mesozoic large intermediate-felsic lava and intermediate-felsic composite volcanic edifices in the Bohai Sea are the material basis for the formation of large-scale volcanic reservoirs. The upper subfacies of effusive facies and cryptoexplosive breccia subfacies of volcanic conduit facies of volcanic vent-proximal facies belts are favorable for large-scale volcanic reservoir formation. Two types of efficient reservoirs, characterized by high porosity and medium to low permeability,as well as medium porosity and medium to low permeability, are the core of the formation of large-and medium-sized volcanic reservoirs. The reservoir with high porosity and medium to low permeability is formed by intermediate-felsic vesicular lava or the cryptoexplosive breccia superimposed by intensive dissolution. The reservoir with medium porosity and medium to low permeability is formed by intense tectonism superimposed by fluid dissolution.Weathering and tectonic transformation are main formation mechanisms for large and medium-sized volcanic reservoirs in the study area. The low-source“source-reservoir draping type”is the optimum source-reservoir configuration relationship for large-and medium-sized volcanic reservoirs. There exists favorable volcanic facies, efficient reservoirs and source-reservoir draping configuration relationship on the periphery of Bozhong Sag,and the large intermediate-felsic lava and intermediate-felsic composite volcanic edifices close to strike-slip faults and their branch faults are the main directions of future exploration.
文摘The gas field in the Bohai Bay Basin is a fractured metamorphic buried-hill reservoir with dual-media characteristics. This research provides valuable guidance for designing gas injection development plans and dynamic tracking adjustments for fractured gas condensate reservoirs.

文摘In order to clarify the influence of liquid sulfur deposition and adsorption to high-H2S gas reservoirs, three types of natural cores with typical carbonate pore structures were selected for high-temperature and high-pressure core displacement experiments.Fine quantitative characterization of the cores in three steady states(original, after sulfur injection, and after gas flooding)was carried out using the nuclear magnetic resonance(NMR)transverse relaxation time spectrum and imaging,X-ray computer tomography(CT)of full-diameter cores, basic physical property testing, and field emission scanning electron microscopy imaging. The loss of pore volume caused by sulfur deposition and adsorption mainly comes from the medium and large pores with sizes bigger than 1000μm.Liquid sulfur has a stronger adsorption and deposition ability in smaller pore spaces, and causes greater damage to reservoirs with poor original pore structures. The pore structure of the three types of carbonate reservoirs shows multiple fractal characteristics. The worse the pore structure, the greater the change of internal pore distribution caused by liquid sulfur deposition and adsorption, and the stronger the heterogeneity.Liquid sulfur deposition and adsorption change the pore size distribution, pore connectivity, and heterogeneity of the rock, which further changes the physical properties of the reservoir. After sulfur injection and gas flooding, the permeability of TypeⅠreservoirs with good physical properties decreased by 16%,and that of TypesⅡandⅢreservoirs with poor physical properties decreased by 90%or more, suggesting an extremely high damage. This indicates that the worse the initial physical properties, the greater the damage of liquid sulfur deposition and adsorption.Liquid sulfur is adsorbed and deposited in different types of pore space in the forms of flocculence, cobweb,or retinitis, causing different changes in the pore structure and physical property of the reservoir.

文摘Nanoparticles(NPs)have gained significant attention as a functional material due to their ability to effectively enhance pressure reduction in injection processes in ultra-low permeability reservoirs.NPs are typically studied in controlled laboratory conditions, and their behavior in real-world,complex environments such as ultra-low permeability reservoirs,is not well understood due to the limited scope of their applications. This study investigates the efficacy and underlying mechanisms of NPs in decreasing injection pressure under various injection conditions(25—85℃,10—25 MPa).The results reveal that under optimal injection conditions,NPs effectively reduce injection pressure by a maximum of 22.77%in core experiment. The pressure reduction rate is found to be positively correlated with oil saturation and permeability, and negatively correlated with temperature and salinity.Furthermore, particle image velocimetry(PIV)experiments(25℃,atmospheric pressure)indicate that the pressure reduction is achieved by NPs through the reduction of wall shear resistance and wettability change. This work has important implications for the design of water injection strategies in ultra-low permeability reservoirs.

文摘The key factors controlling the densification of unconventional reservoirs(e.g.,tight oil and gas reservoirs)remain poorly understood and directly affect the distribution of exploitable resources. Here, systematically explored reservoir characteristics, depositional microfacies, and the main factors controlling densification of the tight oil reservoir in the Chang 8 Member(Yanchang Formation,Middle Triassic)in the southern Ordos Basin by thin section analysis, scanning electron microscopy, physical property measurement,X-ray diffraction, and mercury injection. Our results confirm the Chang 8 reservoir as an extremely low permeability tight sandstone reservoir mainly comprising lithic feldspathic sandstone with various primary and secondary pores and fine pore channels. The highest quality reservoir is mainly restricted to the middle and lower parts of subaqueous distributary channel microfacies.Dissolution partly contributed to reservoir formation, but the persistence of early,non-compressed storage space was more important. The compression of plastic rock debris removed a significant amount of porosity, and calcite, kaolinite, and siliceous minerals both fill pores, whereas chlorite cladding of particles protects the pore space. We identified three densification mechanisms:the persistent densification of highly plastic rock debris during burial, calcite cementation and pore filling, and feldspar dissolution and subsequent kaolinite precipitation and siliceous cementation. After their compaction, the Chang 8 Member reservoirs were charged with hydrocarbons. We applied clustering analysis to eight reservoir characteristics(porosity, permeability, median pore-throat radius, maximum pore-throat radius, median capillary pressure, pore discharge pressure, chlorite content, kaolinite content)to quantitatively classify the Chang 8 reservoir into three categories.Type-Ⅰreservoirs have the best conditions for hosting tight oil reservoirs,with~12%porosity,permeabilities of~0.2×10-3μm2,trial oil production rates of>5 m3/d,and,indeed,occur in subaqueous distributary channel microfacies.Type-Ⅱreservoirs~10%porosity,permeabilities of~0.1×10-3μm2,and trial oil production rates of 1-5 m3/d.Type-Ⅲreservoirs have~5%porosity,permeabilities of~0.05×10-3μm2,and trial oil production rates<1 m3/d.These results provide an important basis for predicting the distribution of exploitable zones in the Chang 8 Member and other adjacent tight reservoirs.

文摘Spontaneous imbibition(SI)is an important mechanism for enhancing oil recovery in low-permeability reservoirs.Due to the strong heterogeneity, and the non-Darcy flow, the construction of SI model for lowpermeability reservoirs is extremely challenging.Commonly, traditional SI models based on single or averaged capillary tortuosity ignore the influence of heterogeneity of pore seepage channels and the threshold pressure(TP)on imbibition. Therefore,in this work, based on capillary model and fractal theory,a mathematical model of characterizing SI considering heterogeneity of pore seepage channels is established. On this basis, the threshold pressure was introduced to determine the pore radius at which the wetted phase can displace oil.The proposed new SI model was verified by imbibition experimental data. The study shows that for weakly heterogeneous cores with permeability of 0-1 m D,the traditional SI model can characterize the imbibition process relatively accurately, and the new imbibition model can increase the coefficient of determination by 1.05 times. However, traditional model has serious deviations in predicting the imbibition recovery for cores with permeability of 10-50 m D.The new SI model coupling with heterogeneity of pore seepage channels and threshold pressure effectively solves this problem, and the determination coefficient is increased from 0.344 to 0.922,which is increased by2.68 times. For low-permeability reservoirs, the production of the oil in transitional pores(0.01-0.1μm)and mesopores(0.1-1μm)significantly affects the imbibition recovery,as the research shows that when the heterogeneity of pore seepage channels is ignored, the oil recovery in transitional pores and mesopores decreases by 7.54%and 4.26%,respectively.Sensitivity analysis shows that increasing interfacial tension, decreasing contact angle,oil-water viscosity ratio and threshold pressure will increase imbibition recovery. In addition, there are critical values for the influence of these factors on the imbibition recovery, which provides theoretical support for surfactant optimization.

文摘The analysis of interwell connectivity plays an important role in the formulation of oilfield development plans and the description of residual oil distribution. The method corresponds to the actual situation of the reservoir, has wide adaptability and low cost, has good practical value, and provides a reference for adjusting the injection-production relationship of the reservoir and the development of the remaining oil.
