Pitch produced by the lique-faction of coal was divided into two frac-tions:soluble in toluene(TS)and insol-uble in toluene but soluble in pyridine(TI-PS),and their differences in molecu-lar structure and oxidation activity were studied.Several different carbon materi-als were produced from them by oxida-tion in air(350℃,300 mL/min)fol-lowed by carbonization(1000℃ in Ar),and the effect of the cross-linked structure on their structure and sodium storage properties was investigated.The results showed that the two pitch fractions were obviously different after the air oxidation.The TS fraction with a low degree of condensation and abundant side chains had a stronger oxidation activity and thus introduced more cross-linked oxygen-containing functional groups C(O)―O which prevented carbon layer rearrangement during the carbonization.As a result,a disordered hard carbon with more defects was formed,which improved the electrochemical performance.Therefore,the carbon materials derived from TS(O-TS-1000)had an obvious disordered structure and a larger layer spacing,giving them better sodium storage perform-ance than those derived from the TI-PS fraction(O-TI-PS-1000).The specific capacity of O-TS-1000 was about 250 mAh/g at 20 mA/g,which was 1.67 times higher than that of O-TI-PS-1000(150 mAh/g). 展开更多

Pitch is a complex mixture of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons and their non-metal derivatives that has a high carbon content.Using pitch as a precursor for carbon materials in alkali metal ion(Li^(+)/Na^(+)/K^(+))batteries has become of great interest.However,its direct pyrolysis often leads to microstructures with a high orientation and small interlayer spacing due to uncontrolled liquid-phase carbonization,resulting in subpar electrochemical performance.It is therefore important to control the microstructures of pitch-derived carbon materials in order to improve their electrochemical properties.We evaluate the latest progress in the development of these materials using various microstructural engineering approaches,highlighting their use in metal-ion batteries and supercapacitors.The advantages and limitations of pitch molecules and their carbon derivatives are outlined,together with strategies for their modification in order to improve their properties for specific applications.Future research possibilities for structure optimization,scalable production,and waste pitch recycling are also considered. 展开更多

Collective pitch control and individual pitch control algorithms were present for straight-bladed vertical axis wind turbine to improve the self-starting capacity.Comparative analysis of straight-bladed vertical axis wind turbine(SB-VAWT)with or without pitch control was conducted from the aspects of aerodynamic force,flow structure and power coefficient.The computational fluid dynamics(CFD)prediction results show a significant increase in power coefficient for SB-VAWT with pitch control.According to the aerodynamic forces and total torque coefficient obtained at various tip speed ratios(TSRs),the results indicate that the blade pitch method can increase the power output and decrease the deformation of blade;especially,the total torque coefficient of blade pitch control at TSR 1.5 is about 2.5 times larger than that of fixed pitch case.Furthermore,experiment was carried out to verify the feasibility of pitch control methods.The results show that the present collective pitch control and individual pitch control methods can improve the self-starting capacity of SB-VAWT,and the former is much better and its proper operating TSRs ranges from 0.4 to 0.6. 展开更多

Potassium-ion batteries(PIBs)hold promise for large-scale energy storage,necessitating the development of high-performance anode materials.Carbons with the advantage of structural versatility,are recognized as the most promising anode materials for their commercialization,however the relationship between the carbon anode structure and its electrochemical performance remains unclear.A series of pitch-based soft carbons with different structures were fabricated using carbonization temperatures in the range 600–1400℃,and their changes in carbon configuration and K-storage performance as a function of carbonization temperature were investigated.Correlations between the carbon crystal size and the low-potential plateau region capacity and between the degree of structural disorder of the carbons with their sloping region capacity were revealed.Among all samples,that obtained by carbonization at 700℃had a relatively high degree of disorder and a large interlayer spacing,and had a high reversible capacity of 329.4 mAh g^(-1) with a high initial coulombic efficiency of 72.81%,and maintained a high capacity of 144.2 mAh g^(-1) at the current rate of 5 C.These findings improve our fundamental understanding of the K-storage process in carbon anodes,and thus facilitate the advance of PIBs. 展开更多

The influences of molar ratio of KOH to C and activated temperature on the pore structure and electrochemical property of porous activated carbon from mesophase pitch activated by KOH were investigated. The surface areas and the pore structures of activated carbons were analyzed by nitrogen adsorption, and the electrochemical properties of the activated carbons were studied using two-electrode capacitors in organic electrolyte. The results indicate that the maximum surface area of 3 190 m2/g is obtained at molar ratio of KOH to C of 5:1, the maximum specific capacitance of 122 F/g is attained at molar ratio of KOH to C of 4:1, and 800 ℃ is the proper temperature to obtain the maximum surface area and capacitance. 展开更多

Wind energy is one of the most promising renewable energy sources, straight-bladed vertical axis wind turbine(S-VAWT) appears to be particularly promising for the shortage of fossil fuel reserves owing to its distinct advantages, but suffers from poor self-starting and low power coefficient. Variable-pitch method was recognized as an attractive solution to performance improvement, thus majority efforts had been devoted into blade pitch angle effect on aerodynamic performance. Taken into account the local flow field of S-VAWT, mathematical model was built to analyze the relationship between power outputs and pitch angle. Numerical simulations on static and dynamic performances of blade were carried out and optimized pitch angle along the rotor were presented. Comparative analyses of fixed pitch and variable-pitch S-VAWT were conducted, and a considerable improvement of the performance was obtained by the optimized blade pitch angle, in particular, a relative increase of the power coefficient by more than 19.3%. It is further demonstrated that the self-starting is greatly improved with the optimized blade pitch angle. 展开更多

Graphitized carbon foams(GFms)were prepared using mesophase pitch(MP)as a raw material by foaming(450℃),pre-oxidation(320℃),carbonization(1000℃)and graphitization(2800℃).The differences in structure and properties of GFms prepared from different MP precursors pretreated by ball milling or liquid phase extraction were investigated and compared,and semi-quantitative calculations were conducted on the Raman and FTIR spectra of samples at each preparation stage.Semi-quantitat-ive spectroscopic analysis provided detailed information on the structure and chemical composition changes of the MP and GFm de-rived from it.Combined with microscopic observations,the change from precursor to GFm was analyzed.The results showed that ball milling concentrated the distribution of aromatic molecules in the pitch,which contributed to uniform foaming to give a GFm with a uniform pore distribution and good properties.Liquid phase extraction helped remove light components while retaining large aromatics to form graphitic planes with the largest average size during post-treatment to produce a GFm with the highest degree of graphitization and the fewest open pores,giving the best compression resistance(2.47 MPa),the highest thermal conductivity(64.47 W/(m·K))and the lowest electrical resistance(13.02μΩ·m).Characterization combining semi-quantitative spectroscopic ana-lysis with microscopic observations allowed us to control the preparation of the MP-derived GFms. 展开更多

The preparation of a synthetic pitch from aromatic monomers could easily regulate structure orientation at the molecu-lar level,which would be useful in fabrication.An isotropic synthetic pitch was prepared by a chlorine-and/or nitrogen-induced sub-stitution polymerization reaction method using aromatic hydrocarbon precursors containing Cl and N,which for this study were chloromethyl naphthalene and quinoline.This method was verified by investigating the structural changes under different synthesis conditions,and the synthesis mechanism induced by aromatics containing Cl was also probed.The result shows that the pyridinic N in quinoline contains a lone pair of electrons,and is an effective active site to induce the polymerization reaction by coupling with aromatic hydrocarbons containing Cl.The reaction between such free radicals causes strong homopolymerization and oligomeriza-tion.A higher reaction temperature and longer reaction time significantly increased the degree of polymerization and thus increased the softening point of the pitch.A linear molecular structure was formed by the Cl substitution reaction,which produced a highly spinnable pitch with a softening point of 258.6℃,and carbon fibers with a tensile strength of 1163.82 MPa were obtained.This study provides a relatively simple and safe method for the preparation of high-quality spinnable pitch. 展开更多

In order to obtain the microwave absorption(MA)materials with light weight,high efficiency and tunable properties,the carbonized mesophase pitch(CMP)with the variation in carbonization temperatures and particle sizes were prepared and characterized.The carbonization temperature mainly controlled the graphitization degree of the CMP to affect their conductive loss.The carbon residues were generated on the CMP surface when the temperature was higher than 700℃,which contributed significantly to the polarization loss of the CMP.For scale regulation,the segregation between the particles in the paraffin ring caused by the reduction particles of CMP carbonization at 750℃(750 CMP)resulted in a significant reduction in conductive losses while improving their impedance matching.The 750 CMP over 300 mesh sieved had the strongest MA properties of-53 d B at 3.4 GHz within 5.5 mm.Moreover,the prepared CMPs were multi-layer compounded and optimized by CST microwave studio.The synergistic effect derived from the improved impedance matching and the enhanced interfacial polarization resulted in significant reflection loss in multi-layer CMP.Overall,these findings lead to the systematically regulation of carbon-based materials for MA,showing an attractive application prospect for the preparation of high-performance MA materials. 展开更多

Because of its high purity and excellent orientation, mesophase pitch is a superior precursor for high-performance car-bon materials. However, the preparation of top-notch mesophase pitch faces challenges. Catalytic polycondensation at low temperat-ures is more favorable for synthesizing mesophase pitch, because it circumvents the high-temperature free radical reaction of other thermal polycondensation approaches. The reaction is gentle and can be easily controlled. It has the potential to significantly im-prove the yield of mesophase pitch and easily introduce naphthenic characteristics into the molecules, catalytic polycondensation is therefore a preferred method of synthesizing highly spinnable mesophase pitch. This review provides a synopsis of the selective pre-treatment of the raw materials to prepare different mesophase pitches, and explains the reaction mechanism and associated research advances for different catalytic systems in recent years. Finally, how to manufacture high-quality mesophase pitch by using a cata-lyst-promoter system is summarized and proposed, which may provide a theoretical basis for the future design of high-quality pitch molecules. 展开更多

A terminal ballistic analysis of the effects of 7.62 mm × 51 AP P80 rounds on inclined high-strength armor steel plates is the focus of the presented study.The findings of an instrumented ballistic testing combined with 3D advanced numerical simulations performed using the IMPETUS Afea? software yielded the conclusions.The experimental verification proved that slight differences in the pitch-andyaw angles of a projectile upon an impact caused different damage types to the projectile’s core.The residual velocities predicted numerically were close to the experimental values and the calculated core deviations were in satisfactory agreement with the experimental results.An extended matrix of the core deviation angles with combinations of pitch-and-yaw upon impact angles was subsequently built on the basis of the numerical study.The presented experimental and numerical investigation examined thoroughly the influence of the initial pitch and yaw angles on the after-perforation projectile’s performance. 展开更多

变桨轴承是风电机组传动与控制系统的关键部件,安装形式特殊且承受复杂的轴向、径向力和倾覆力矩等交变载荷。文中基于经典的赫兹弹性接触理论,建立了刚性套圈承受多向力和倾覆力矩的双排四点接触球变桨轴承的力学模型。在此基础上,... 变桨轴承是风电机组传动与控制系统的关键部件,安装形式特殊且承受复杂的轴向、径向力和倾覆力矩等交变载荷。文中基于经典的赫兹弹性接触理论,建立了刚性套圈承受多向力和倾覆力矩的双排四点接触球变桨轴承的力学模型。在此基础上,应用弹性等理论研究套圈变形对轴承载荷分布的影响,推导轴承外载荷和滚动体接触力等载荷作用下转盘轴承内、外套圈的弯曲变形方程,联立非线性超越方程组给出了四点接触球转盘轴承分布载荷的求解方法。以某型号变桨轴承为例,分别采用刚性和柔性套圈2种模型对轴承载荷分布进行了计算和对比分析。结果表明2种模型下轴承载荷分布有显著区别,柔性套圈模型下的承载区间减小,载荷分布更加均匀,滚动体的承载能力有很大的提升。相关力学问题的研究可为变桨轴承结构设计提供必要的理论依据。 展开更多

针对风机在额定风速以上工况下运行时所承受的不平衡载荷,文章提出了一种将径向基函数(Radial Basis Function,RBF)神经网络与模型预测控制(Model Predictive Control,MPC)相结合的MPC-RBF独立变桨距控制策略。通过风电机组动力学方程... 针对风机在额定风速以上工况下运行时所承受的不平衡载荷,文章提出了一种将径向基函数(Radial Basis Function,RBF)神经网络与模型预测控制(Model Predictive Control,MPC)相结合的MPC-RBF独立变桨距控制策略。通过风电机组动力学方程与坐标变换建立了适用于控制器设计的平均周期状态空间模型。在卡尔曼状态观测器的基础上,使用模型预测控制即时调整风机桨距角,RBF控制器抑制载荷,进而设计出所需的独立变桨控制器。以NERL 5 MW风电机组平台为例,分别分析在湍流风作用下基于比例积分(PI),MPC以及MPCRBF独立变桨控制策略的载荷特性以及运行特性。仿真结果显示,采用MPC-RBF能有效地降低载荷,提高风机的运行寿命,且对功率波动有较好的抑制效果。 展开更多

波浪作用下海洋浮标主要存在纵摇和垂荡运动,采用两自由度差动轮系分别将浮标的垂荡运动和纵摇运动与差动轮系的两个输入轴相连,差动轮系的输出轴与转子发电机相连,提出了一种多源耦合的新型海洋浮标波浪能发电装置。利用绕定轴转动的... 波浪作用下海洋浮标主要存在纵摇和垂荡运动,采用两自由度差动轮系分别将浮标的垂荡运动和纵摇运动与差动轮系的两个输入轴相连,差动轮系的输出轴与转子发电机相连,提出了一种多源耦合的新型海洋浮标波浪能发电装置。利用绕定轴转动的摆球俘获浮标纵摇的运动能量,并利用含有单向轴承的齿轮机构将摆球的往复摆动转化为驱动发电机转动的单向旋转运动,该旋转运动为差动轮系的输入之一。同时,利用含有单向轴承的齿轮齿条机构将浮标的垂荡运动转化为驱动发电机转动的单向旋转运动,该旋转运动为差动轮系的另一个输入。差动轮系的行星架作为输出轴与发电机转子直连驱动发电机单向转动,将浮标的纵摇和垂荡动能转化为电能。分别建立了新型浮标波浪能发电装置中摆球纵摇发电装置、浮体垂荡发电装置以及浮标纵摇/垂荡耦合的动力学方程,采用数值仿真研究了不同波浪周期和不同波浪幅值下发电装置的动力学响应及发电功率。结果表明:当波浪幅值为1 m时,浮标平均发电功率在波浪周期为2.3 s左右时达到最大,随着激励波浪幅值增大,浮标的垂荡和纵摇振动的响应随之增加,发电功率逐渐增大,当波幅为1.1 m时发电功率可达525.7 W。在波浪周期为2.3 s、振幅为1 m时,安装单向轴承比未安装单向轴承的发电效率提高约19.2%。 展开更多

针对风电机组变桨轴承损伤识别问题,提出基于自适应特征模态分解和奇异值分解降噪的损伤识别方法。该方法首先利用龙格库塔优化策略对特征模态分解算法中的频带数量及滤波器长度参数进行搜索,确定最优参数组合后对原始振动信号进行自适... 针对风电机组变桨轴承损伤识别问题,提出基于自适应特征模态分解和奇异值分解降噪的损伤识别方法。该方法首先利用龙格库塔优化策略对特征模态分解算法中的频带数量及滤波器长度参数进行搜索,确定最优参数组合后对原始振动信号进行自适应特征模态分解,从中提取出蕴含丰富特征信息的模态分量;继而计算出所提取模态分量的包络信号并做进一步奇异值分解降噪处理,从而增强包络信号的信噪比;最后对比理论损伤特征频率及包络谱中幅值突出的频率成分,用于判断变桨轴承的故障损伤。实验数据分析结果表明,所提方法能从复杂原始振动信号中有效提取出微弱特征信息,实现变桨轴承损伤部位的准确甄别,具有一定工程参考借鉴价值。 展开更多
