A momentum factor is introduced into the original particle swarm optimizer to resolve this problem. Furthermore, in order to accelerate convergence, a new strategy about updating velocities is given. The resulting approach is mromentum-PSO which guarantees that particles are never beyond predefined search space without checking boundary in every iteration. In addition, linearly decreasing wight PSO (LDW-PSO) equipped with a boundary checking strategy is also discussed, which is denoted as LDWBC-PSO. LDW-PSO, LDWBC-PSO and momentum-PSO are compared in optimization on five test functions. The experimental results show that in some special cases LDW-PSO finds invalid solutions and LDWBC-PSO has poor performance, while momentum-PSO not only exhibits good performance but also reduces computational cost for updating velocities.展开更多

This paper proposes a MS source location method based on particle swarm optimization (PSO) and multi-sensor arrays, where a free weight joints the P-wave first arrival data. This method adaptively adjusts the preference for “superior” arrays and leverages “inferior” arrays to escape local optima, thereby improving the location accuracy. The effectiveness and stability of this method were validated through synthetic tests, pencil-lead break (PLB) experiments, and mining engineering applications. Specifically, for synthetic tests with 1 μs Gaussian noise and 100 μs large noise in rock samples, the location error of the multi-sensor arrays jointed location method is only 0.30 cm, which improves location accuracy by 97.51% compared to that using a single sensor array. The average location error of PLB events on three surfaces of a rock sample is reduced by 48.95%, 26.40%, and 55.84%, respectively. For mine blast event tests, the average location error of the dual sensor arrays jointed method is 62.74 m, 54.32% and 14.29% lower than that using only sensor arrays 1 and 2, respectively. In summary, the proposed multi-sensor arrays jointed location method demonstrates good noise resistance, stability, and accuracy, providing a compelling new solution for MS location in relevant mining scenarios.展开更多

However, most of the previous work focused on the deployment problem in 2D space.Compared to the traditional form, sensors deployment in multidimensional space has greater research significance and practical potential to satisfy the detecting needs in complex environment.Aiming at solving this issue, a multi-dimensional space sensor network model is established, and the radar system is selected as an example. Considering the possible working mode of the radar system(e.g., searching and tracking), two distinctive deployment models are proposed based on maximum coverage area and maximum target detection probability in the attack direction respectively. The latter one is usually ignored in the previous literature. For uncovering the optimal deployment of the sensor network, the particle swarm optimization(PSO) algorithm is improved using the proposed weights determination scheme, in which the linear decreasing, the pooling strategy and the cloud theory are combined for weights updating. Experimental results illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.展开更多

The turning fre- quency points are fixed in each frequency interval in the standard Oustaloup approximation. In the improved Oustaloup method, the turning frequency points are determined by the adaptive chaotic particle swarm optimization (PSO). The average velocity is proposed to reduce the iterations of the PSO. The chaotic search scheme is combined to reduce the opportunity of the premature phenomenon. Two fitness functions are given to minimize the zero-pole and amplitude-phase frequency errors for the underlying optimization problems. Some numerical examples are compared to demonstrate the effectiveness and accuracy of this proposed rational approximation method.展开更多

Experimental results illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.

文摘This paper proposes a particle swarm optimization(PSO) based particle filter(PF) tracking framework, the embedded PSO makes particles move toward the high likelihood area to find the optimal position in the state transition stage, and simultaneously incorporates the newest observations into the proposal distribution in the update stage. In the proposed approach, likelihood measure functions involving multiple features are presented to enhance the performance of model fitting.Furthermore, the multi-feature weights are self-adaptively adjusted by a PSO algorithm throughout the tracking process. There are three main contributions.Firstly, the PSO algorithm is fused into the PF framework, which can efficiently alleviate the particles degeneracy phenomenon.Secondly,an effective convergence criterion for the PSO algorithm is explored, which can avoid particles getting stuck in local minima and maintain a greater particle diversity. Finally,a multi-feature weight self-adjusting strategy is proposed, which can significantly improve the tracking robustness and accuracy.Experiments performed on several challenging public video sequences demonstrate that the proposed tracking approach achieves a considerable performance.

文摘A rational approximation method of the fractional-order derivative and integral operators is proposed. Some numerical examples are compared to demonstrate the effectiveness and accuracy of this proposed rational approximation method.

文摘In order to solve reliability-redundancy allocation problems more effectively, a new hybrid algorithm named CDEPSO is proposed in this work, which combines particle swarm optimization (PSO) with differential evolution (DE) and a new chaotic local search. In the CDEPSO algorithm, DE provides its best solution to PSO if the best solution obtained by DE is better than that by PSO, while the best solution in the PSO is performed by chaotic local search. To investigate the performance of CDEPSO, four typical reliability-redundancy allocation problems were solved and the results indicate that the convergence speed and robustness of CDEPSO is better than those of PSO and CPSO (a hybrid algorithm which only combines PSO with chaotic local search). And, compared with the other six improved meta-heuristics, CDEPSO also exhibits more robust performance. In addition, a new performance was proposed to more fairly compare CDEPSO with the same six improved recta-heuristics, and CDEPSO algorithm is the best in solving these problems.

文摘A relevance vector machine (RVM) based fault diagnosis method was presented for non-linear circuits. In order to simplify RVM classifier, parameters selection based on particle swarm optimization (PSO) and preprocessing technique based on the kurtosis and entropy of signals were used. Firstly, sinusoidal inputs with different frequencies were applied to the circuit under test (CUT). Then, the resulting frequency responses were sampled to generate features. The frequency response was sampled to compute its kurtosis and entropy, which can show the information capacity of signal. By analyzing the output signals, the proposed method can detect and identify faulty components in circuits. The results indicate that the fault classes can be classified correctly for at least 99% of the test data in example circuit. And the proposed method can diagnose hard and soft faults.
