Enhancing emerging technology discovery in nanomedicine by integrating innovative sentences using BERT and NLDA

Purpose:Nanomedicine has significant potential to revolutionize biomedicine and healthcare through innovations in diagnostics,therapeutics,and regenerative medicine.This study aims to develop a novel framework that integrates advanced natural language processing,noise-free topic modeling,and multidimensional bibliometrics to systematically identify emerging nanomedicine technology topics from scientific literature.Design/methodology/approach:The framework involves collecting full-text articles from PubMed Central and nanomedicine-related metrics from the Web of Science for the period 2013-2023.A fine-tuned BERT model is employed to extract key informative sentences.Noiseless Latent Dirichlet Allocation(NLDA)is applied to model interpretable topics from the cleaned corpus.Additionally,we develop and apply metrics for novelty,innovation,growth,impact,and intensity to quantify the emergence of novel technological topics.Findings:By applying this methodology to nanomedical publications,we identify an increasing emphasis on research aligned with global health priorities,particularly inflammation and biomaterial interactions in disease research.This methodology provides deeper insights through full-text analysis and leading to a more robust discovery of emerging technologies.Research limitations:One limitation of this study is its reliance on the existing scientific literature,which may introduce publication biases and language constraints.Additionally,manual annotation of the dataset,while thorough,is subject to subjectivity and can be time-consuming.Future research could address these limitations by incorporating more diverse data sources,and automating the annotation process.Practical implications:The methodology presented can be adapted to explore emerging technologies in other scientific domains.It allows for tailored assessment criteria based on specific contexts and objectives,enabling more precise analysis and decision-making in various fields.Originality/value:This study offers a comprehensive framework for identifying emerging technologies in nanomedicine,combining theoretical insights and practical applications.Its potential for adaptation across scientific disciplines enhances its value for future research and decision-making in technology discovery. 展开更多

Purpose:This study explores the underlying research topics regarding CRISPR based on the LDA model and figures out trends in knowledge transfer from science to technology in this area over the latest 10 years.Design/methodology/approach:We collected publications on CRISPR between 2011 and2020 from the Web of Science,and traced all the patents citing them from lens.org.15,904 articles and 18,985 patents in total are downloaded and analyzed.The LDA model was applied to identify underlying research topics in related research.In addition,some indicators were introduced to measure the knowledge transfer from research topics of scientific publications to IPC-4 classes of patents.Findings:The emerging research topics on CRISPR were identified and their evolution over time displayed.Furthermore,a big picture of knowledge transition from research topics to technological classes of patents was presented.We found that for all topics on CRISPR,the average first transition year,the ratio of articles cited by patents,the NPR transition rate are respectively 1.08,15.57%,and 1.19,extremely shorter and more intensive than those of general fields.Moreover,the transition patterns are different among research topics.Research limitations:Our research is limited to publications retrieved from the Web of Science and their citing patents indexed in lens.org.A limitation inherent with LDA analysis is in the manual interpretation and labeling of"topics".Practical implications:Our study provides good references for policy-makers on allocating scientific resources and regulating financial budgets to face challenges related to the transformative technology of CRISPR.Originality/value:The LDA model here is applied to topic identification in the area of transformative researches for the first time,as exemplified on CRISPR.Additionally,the dataset of all citing patents in this area helps to provide a full picture to detect the knowledge transition between S&T. 展开更多

The dynamic stress-fields and their distribution characteristics around boreholes in the directed crack blasting were measured with the dynamic photo-elastic laser holography apparatus and the ultradymamic measurement system. The directed crack mechanism and its mechanical model have been analysed and expounded. Through the 43 production experiments using slotted cartridges and the double triangle center cut-holes for directed crack blasting in underground rock drift, the results of which the rates of half-hole marks and efficiency of borehole,and the nonsmooth grades of the cut contours are 96%, 98% and 10cm respectively have been achieved. 展开更多

The eco-materials(include natural and artificial material) applied in the eco-technology in internal currently,usually lack of evaluation for applicative conditions.Hence,this study carry on the whole research and identifications to draft the eco-materials of eco-technology.The evaluation models of applied materials for eco-technology were proposed.The quantitative score were obtained by expert’s person evaluation.Three models were proposed to quantify the effects of applied materials on the ecological environment.The statistical procedures were adopted to compare the performance of these materials for eco-technology.The results indicated that the comparison of applied materials can be treated by quantitative analysis.For the further analysis,more evaluated data from expert’s experience need to be collected then the bias of person subject can be reduced.In addition to reach the benefits in the respects of ecosystem,society,economy and function,also practice the comprehensive effects in eco-technology. 展开更多

Using artificial intelligence(AI) and machine learning(ML) techniques, we developed and validated the smart proxy models for history matching of reservoir simulation, sensitivity analysis, and uncertainty assessment by artificial neural network(ANN). The smart proxy models were applied on two cases, the first case study investigated the application of a proxy model for calibrating a reservoir simulation model based on historical data and predicting well production while the second case study investigated the application of an ANN-based proxy model for fast-track modeling of CO2 enhanced oil recovery, aiming at the prediction of the reservoir pressure and phase saturation distribution at injection stage and post-injection stage. The prediction effects for both cases are promising. While a single run of basic numerical simulation model takes hours to days, the smart proxy model runs in a matter of seconds, saving 98.9% of calculating time. The results of these case studies demonstrate the advantage of the proposed workflow for addressing the high run-time, computational time and computational cost of numerical simulation models. In addition, these proxy models predict the outputs of reservoir simulation models with high accuracy. 展开更多

In order to safely exploit coal resource, protection coal pillars must be prepared in coal mines. Some correlative parameters of protection coal pillar are calculated by Drop face and Drop line methods. Models of protecting surface objects and coal pillars are established by TIN modeling and object-oriented technique. By using ACCESS2000as the database and the VC++ and OpenGL as the language, the calculation of protective coal pillars is realized and the 3D-visulizaiton system for protected objects on ground surface and for coal pillars is developed. The system can obtain the data of characteristic points on the surface interactively from the digitized mine topography map, constructing 3D model automatically. It can also obtain the interrelated parameters of the coal seam and drill hole data from existing geolog!cal surveying database to calculate the location, surface area and the total coal columns. The whole process can be computed quickly and accurately. And the 3D visualization system was applied in a mine, showing that the system solve the problem of complex calculation, not only realized the automatic 3D mapping and visualization of coal pillars for buildings protection, but also greatly improves the working efficiency. 展开更多

A model based on saturate inductance parameter of interior permanent magnet (IPM) synchronous motor was brought forward by using finite element analysis. And its control strategy based on the largest running capability was studied also. The experiment results for a scale model show that the modelling method improves the model's accuracy, and the motor's control strategy is effective. 展开更多

为适应新质生产力的形成与发展需要,落实国家高质量发展战略,教育系统需要积极探索如何引导学习者自觉成为肩负国家发展使命、具有主体责任的新质人才。然而,学习个体之间存在差异,单一教学模式难以满足每个学习者的成长需求。因此,本... 为适应新质生产力的形成与发展需要,落实国家高质量发展战略,教育系统需要积极探索如何引导学习者自觉成为肩负国家发展使命、具有主体责任的新质人才。然而,学习个体之间存在差异,单一教学模式难以满足每个学习者的成长需求。因此,本研究提出,个体核心素养的形成,不能单纯依赖外部教学因素,而应推动个体主动建立主体责任,使个体充满韧性。本研究通过分析教育领域技术应用的演进逻辑,提出基于数智技术构建的教育生态会影响个体韧性并扩大个体差异;从促进认知发生的视角出发,重构基于数智技术的学习空间,有利于促进多元主体协同,优化学习流程,改进学习模式;借助数智学习空间创设与学生认知相适应的认知场景,可以支持不同主体在相同学习时间线的差异化学习行为,激活学生的主体意识与责任,为不同主体提供差异化认知机会,推动学生形成核心素养。理解数智技术赋能新质人才培养的价值,可以支持不同学习者建立差异化认知路径,实现高水平发展。 展开更多

探讨了碳税政策下企业是否投资区块链技术的不同情景,构建了自主再制造、授权再制造和外包再制造下的博弈模型,继而讨论了区块链技术的采纳策略及其对再制造模式选择的影响。研究发现:1)碳税政策会提高新产品和再制造产品的零售价格,同... 探讨了碳税政策下企业是否投资区块链技术的不同情景,构建了自主再制造、授权再制造和外包再制造下的博弈模型,继而讨论了区块链技术的采纳策略及其对再制造模式选择的影响。研究发现:1)碳税政策会提高新产品和再制造产品的零售价格,同时会使新产品市场需求减少,再制造产品需求增加。而当单位区块链投资成本低于某一阈值时,区块链技术的引入会进一步使新产品需求往再制造产品转移,但也能实现两个制造商利润的帕累托改进。2)无论是否采纳区块链技术,原始制造商始终偏好自主再制造;对再制造商而言,当消费者偏好较高且废旧产品回收规模系数达到一定阈值时,会偏好外包再制造。3)无论供应链是否采纳区块链技术,自主再制造始终能有效降低环境影响并增加消费者剩余;而当消费者偏好较高时,外包再制造相较于授权再制造更能有效地实现两种效用的最优化。 展开更多

图书翻译的育人价值早已受到外语教育界、翻译教育界的关注,图书翻译长期被视为提升外语学习者外语能力及翻译能力的有效手段。文章以PACTE翻译能力模型为理论依据设计调查问卷,调研在校期间参与过图书翻译的MTI学生翻译能力的提高情况... 图书翻译的育人价值早已受到外语教育界、翻译教育界的关注,图书翻译长期被视为提升外语学习者外语能力及翻译能力的有效手段。文章以PACTE翻译能力模型为理论依据设计调查问卷,调研在校期间参与过图书翻译的MTI学生翻译能力的提高情况。调研结果显示,图书翻译能有效提高MTI学生的双语能力、语言外能力、翻译专业知识能力、工具能力、策略能力,并能够增强其心理素质。然而,MTI学生在图书翻译过程中也面临诸多挑战,如参与翻译的图书种类相对单一、所在院校尚未充分开发图书翻译资源、难以独立承担图书翻译任务等。在技术赋能时代背景下,MTI院校应发挥科研政策的引领作用、加强图书翻译资源开发、积极拥抱翻译技术、促进图书翻译与翻译教学深度融合,充分发挥图书翻译的育人价值。 展开更多
