The construction method of background value is improved in the original multi-variable grey model (MGM(1,m)) from its source of construction errors. The MGM(1,m) with optimized background value is used to eliminate the random fluctuations or errors of the observational data of all variables, and the combined prediction model together with the multiple linear regression is established in order to improve the simulation and prediction accuracy of the combined model. Finally, a combined model of the MGM(1,2) with optimized background value and the binary linear regression is constructed by an example. The results show that the model has good effects for simulation and prediction. 展开更多

In the process of shield tunneling through soft soil layers, the presence of confined water ahead poses a significant threat to the stability of the tunnel face. Therefore,it is crucial to consider the impact of confined water on the limit support pressure of the tunnel face. This study employed the finite element method(FEM)to analyze the limit support pressure of shield tunnel face instability within a pressurized water-containing layer.Subsequently,a multiple linear regression approach was applied to derive a concise solution formula for the limit support pressure, incorporating various influencing factors. The analysis yields the following conclusions:1)The influence of confined water on the instability mode of the tunnel face in soft soil layers makes the displacement response of the strata not significant when the face is unstable;2)The limit support pressure increases approximately linearly with the pressure head, shield tunnel diameter, and tunnel burial depth. And inversely proportional to the thickness of the impermeable layer, soil cohesion and internal friction angle;3)Through an engineering case study analysis, the results align well with those obtained from traditional theoretical methods, thereby validating the rationality of the equations proposed in this paper.Furthermore, the proposed equations overcome the limitation of traditional theoretical approaches considering the influence of changes in impermeable layer thickness. It can accurately depict the dynamic variation in the required limit support pressure to maintain the stability of the tunnel face during shield tunneling, thus better reflecting engineering reality. 展开更多

Near infrared spectrometer technology under a wavelength range of 918-1045 nm was used to rapidly detect paddy rice that was stored at 5℃, 15℃ and 25℃. A total of 121 paddy rice samples were collected from artificial infection with moulds to build the calibration models to calculate the total number colony of moulds based on the principal component regression method and multiple linear regression method. The results of statistical analysis indicated that multiple linear regression method was applicable to the detection of the total number colony of moulds. The correlation of calibration data set was 0.943. The correlation of prediction data set was 0.897. Therefore, the result showed that near infrared spectroscopy could be a useful instrumental method for determining the total number colony of moulds in paddy rice. The near infrared spectroscopy methodology could be applied for monitoring mould contamination in postharvest paddy rice during storage and might become a powerful tool for monitoring the safety of the grain. 展开更多

The thermal decomposition temperature is one of the most important parameters to evaluate fire hazard of organic peroxide. A quantitative structure-property relationship model was proposed for estimating the thermal decomposition temperatures of organic peroxides. The entire set of 38 organic peroxides was at random divided into a training set for model development and a prediction set for external model validation. The novel local molecular descriptors of AT1, AT2, AT3, AT4, AT5, AT6 and global molecular descriptor of ATC have been proposed in order to character organic peroxides’ molecular structures. An accurate quantitative structure-property relationship (QSPR) equation is developed for the thermal decomposition temperatures of organic peroxides. The statistical results showed that the QSPR model was obtained using the multiple linear regression (MLR) method with correlation coefficient (R), standard deviation (S), leave-one-out validation correlation coefficient (RCV) values of 0.9795, 6.5676 ℃ and 0.9328, respectively. The average absolute relative deviation (AARD) is only 3.86% for the experimental values. Model test by internal leave-one-out cross validation and external validation and molecular descriptor interpretation were discussed. Comparison with literature results demonstrated that novel local and global descriptors were useful molecular descriptors for predicting the thermal decomposition temperatures of organic peroxides. 展开更多
