Effective nucleus-nucleus potentials for heavy-ion fusion reactions

Based on the Skyrme energy density functional and reaction Q-value,this study proposed an effective nucleus-nucleus poten-tial for describing the capture barrier in heavy-ion fusion processes.The 443 extracted barrier heights were well reproduced with a root-mean-square(RMS)error of 1.53 MeV,and the RMS deviations with respect to 144 time-dependent Hartree-Fock capture barrier heights were only 1.05 MeV.Coupled with the Siwek-Wilczyński formula,wherein three parameters were determined by the proposed effective potentials,the measured capture cross sections at energies around the barriers were reasonably well reproduced for several fusion reactions induced by nearly spherical nuclei as well as by nuclei with large deformations,such as^(154)Sm and^(238)U.The shallow capture pockets and small values of the average barrier radii resulted in the reduction of the capture cross sections for 52,54Cr-and 64 Ni-induced reactions,which were related to the synthesis of new super-heavy nuclei. 展开更多

This paper presents a comprehensive framework that enables communication scene recognition through deep learning and multi-sensor fusion.This study aims to address the challenge of current communication scene recognition methods that struggle to adapt in dynamic environments,as they typically rely on post-response mechanisms that fail to detect scene changes before users experience latency.The proposed framework leverages data from multiple smartphone sensors,including acceleration sensors,gyroscopes,magnetic field sensors,and orientation sensors,to identify different communication scenes,such as walking,running,cycling,and various modes of transportation.Extensive experimental comparative analysis with existing methods on the open-source SHL-2018 dataset confirmed the superior performance of our approach in terms of F1 score and processing speed.Additionally,tests using a Microsoft Surface Pro tablet and a self-collected Beijing-2023 dataset have validated the framework's efficiency and generalization capability.The results show that our framework achieved an F1 score of 95.15%on SHL-2018and 94.6%on Beijing-2023,highlighting its robustness across different datasets and conditions.Furthermore,the levels of computational complexity and power consumption associated with the algorithm are moderate,making it suitable for deployment on mobile devices. 展开更多

Laser powder bed fusion(LPBF)is a widely used and well-developed approach in additive manufacturing.To meet the high material performance requirements of fourth-generation nuclear power reactors,the combination of LPBF processing with oxide dispersion strengthening(ODS)is currently of interest for the design and development of new materials.In this approach,nanoscale Y_(2)O_(3)particles are dispersed into the feeding powders to produce LPBF-ODS materials.Oxygen exposure and the introduction of oxygen into the solvation cell during LPBF are usually considered as detrimental processes that are impossible to eliminate completely.However,our understanding of these unavoidable processes is still limited.In this study,we developed a new LPBF-ODS design approach based on in situ oxygen content regulation during the LPBF process.The oxygen content of the environmental chamber was artificially adjusted using an online monitoring system to activate reactions between oxygen and the metallic elements for the in situ formation of dispersed oxide particles.Four batches of LPBF 304 L stainless steel samples were successfully processed under different oxygen levels to investigate the reinforcement effect of in situ chemical alloying.The results show that dispersed oxide particles were formed with an average nanoscale size of approximately 46 nm through the LPBF in situ alloying approach.The increase in the number density of oxide particles to 11.4 particles∕μm^(2)as the oxygen content increased played a role in refining and stabilizing the cellular structure.The yield strength of the in situ alloyed ODS material was enhanced(to up to~675 MPa)while its ductility was not significantly degraded(elongation of up to~39%).These tensile properties are competitive within the ranges reported for ODS alloys prepared by mechanical alloying.The main mechanisms for yield strength enhancement through interactions between nanoscale oxide particles and dislocation entanglement cells were analyzed.This study provides a new approach for the future preparation of high-performance LPBF-ODS alloys. 展开更多

Intercepting high-maneuverability hypersonic targets in near-space environments poses significant challenges due to their extreme speeds and evasive capabilities.To address these challenges,this study presents an integrated approach that combines a Three-Dimensional Finite-Time Optimal Cooperative Guidance Law(FTOC)with an Information Fusion Anti-saturation Predefined-time Observer(IFAPO).The proposed FTOC guidance law employs a nonlinear,non-quadratic finite-time optimal control strategy designed for rapid convergence within the limited timeframes of near-space interceptions,avoiding the need for remaining flight time estimation or linear decoupling inherent in traditional methods.To complement the guidance strategy,the IFAPO leverages multi-source information fusion theory and incorporates anti-saturation mechanisms to enhance target maneuver estimation.This method ensures accurate and real-time prediction of target acceleration while maintaining predefined convergence performance,even under complex interception conditions.By integrating the FTOC guidance law and IFAPO,the approach optimizes cooperative missile positioning,improves interception success rates,and minimizes fuel consumption,addressing practical constraints in military applications.Simulation results and comparative analyses confirm the effectiveness of the integrated approach,demonstrating its capability to achieve cooperative interception of highly maneuvering targets with enhanced efficiency and reduced economic costs,aligning with realistic combat scenarios. 展开更多

Fusion Algorithm Based on Improved A^(*)and DWA for USV Path Planning

The traditional A^(*)algorithm exhibits a low efficiency in the path planning of unmanned surface vehicles(USVs).In addition,the path planned presents numerous redundant inflection waypoints,and the security is low,which is not conducive to the control of USV and also affects navigation safety.In this paper,these problems were addressed through the following improvements.First,the path search angle and security were comprehensively considered,and a security expansion strategy of nodes based on the 5×5 neighborhood was proposed.The A^(*)algorithm search neighborhood was expanded from 3×3 to 5×5,and safe nodes were screened out for extension via the node security expansion strategy.This algorithm can also optimize path search angles while improving path security.Second,the distance from the current node to the target node was introduced into the heuristic function.The efficiency of the A^(*)algorithm was improved,and the path was smoothed using the Floyd algorithm.For the dynamic adjustment of the weight to improve the efficiency of DWA,the distance from the USV to the target point was introduced into the evaluation function of the dynamic-window approach(DWA)algorithm.Finally,combined with the local target point selection strategy,the optimized DWA algorithm was performed for local path planning.The experimental results show the smooth and safe path planned by the fusion algorithm,which can successfully avoid dynamic obstacles and is effective and feasible in path planning for USVs. 展开更多

In this study,to better decide the effect of coal seam dip angle upon the dynamic change of the crossfusion in gas transport and storage areas during the progress of working face in the high gas thick coal seam,a two-dimensional physical simulation experiment regarded as the theoretical research was conducted to properly explore the variation law of overburden fracture.The results demonstrated that the boundary of the gas transport zone was located in the region of fracture separation.The boundary of the gas storage area was located in the abrupt penetration zone.Also,according to the information theory,the state of the gas transport and storage areas was determined by the changing trend of the fracture rate and fracture entropy.The mathematical representation model of the dip effect in gas transport and storage areas was established.The criteria upon which the regional location of the gas transport area and gas storage area can be based were put forward.The cross-fusion evolution process of the dip effect in gas transport and storage areas was revealed as well.The research results could provide guidance for realising directional and accurate gas extraction. 展开更多

This paper presents the first comprehensive simulation study of p-11B fusion reactions in a spherical torus.We developed relevant program modules for fusion reactions based on energetic particle simulation frameworks and analyzed the two main fusion channels:thermal and beam-thermal.Using EHL-2 design parameters with n_(boron)=007n_(ion)and a hydrogen beam at 200 keV and 1 MW,our simulation indicates that p-11B reactions produce approximately 1.5×10^(15)αparticles per second(~0.7 kW)from the thermal channel,and5.3×10^(14)(~0.25 kW)from the beam-thermal channel.We conducted parameter scans to establish a solid physics foundation for the high ion temperature conditions(T_(i)>26ke V)designed for EHL-2.This work also laid the groundwork for studying various operation modes to explore different reaction channels.The simulation results suggest that the conditions in EHL-2 could be sufficient for investigating p-11B thermonuclear reactions.In addition,we found that EHL-2 offered good confinement for energetic particles,allowing us to research the interactions between these ions and plasmas.This research enhances our understanding of burning plasma physics. 展开更多

Rock bursts have become one of the most severe risks in underground coal mining and its early warning is an important component in the safety management. Microseismic(MS) monitoring is considered potentially as a powerful tool for the early warning of rock burst. In this study, an MS multi-parameter index system was established and the critical values of each index were estimated based on the normalized multi-information warning model of coal-rock dynamic failure. This index system includes bursting strain energy(BSE) index, time-space-magnitude independent information(TSMII) indices and timespace-magnitude compound information(TSMCI) indices. On the basis of this multi-parameter index system, a comprehensive analysis was conducted via introducing the R-value scoring method to calculate the weights of each index. To calibrate the multi-parameter index system and the associated comprehensive analysis, the weights of each index were first confirmed using historical MS data occurred in LW402102 of Hujiahe Coal Mine(China) over a period of four months. This calibrated comprehensive analysis of MS multi-parameter index system was then applied to pre-warn the occurrence of a subsequent rock burst incident in LW 402103. The results demonstrate that this multi-parameter index system combined with the comprehensive analysis are capable of quantitatively pre-warning rock burst risk. 展开更多

The parameter reconstruction of strong-scattering media is a challenge for conventional full waveform inversion(FWI).Direct envelope inversion(DEI)is an effective method for large-scale and strongscattering structures imaging without the need of low-frequency seismic data.However,the current DEI methods are all based on the acoustic approximation.Whereas,in real cases,seismic records are the combined effects of the subsurface multi-parameters.Therefore,the study of DEI in elastic media is necessary for the accurate inversion of strong-scattering structures,such as salt domes.In this paper,we propose an elastic direct envelope inversion(EDEI)method based on wave mode decomposition.We define the objective function of EDEI using multi-component seismic data and derive its gradient formulation.To reduce the coupling effects of multi-parameters,we introduce the wave mode decomposition method into the gradient calculation of EDEI.The update of Vp is primarily the contributions of decomposed P-waves.Two approaches on Vs gradient calculation are proposed,i.e.using the petrophysical relation and wave mode decomposition method.Finally,we test the proposed method on a layered salt model and the SEG/EAGE salt model.The results show that the proposed EDEI method can reconstruct reliable large-scale Vp and Vs models of strong-scattering salt structures.The successive elastic FWI can obtain high-precision inversion results of the strong-scattering salt model.The proposed method also has a good anti-noise performance in the moderate noise level. 展开更多

Quantum metrology provides a fundamental limit on the precision of multi-parameter estimation,called the Heisenberg limit,which has been achieved in noiseless quantum systems.However,for systems subject to noises,it is hard to achieve this limit since noises are inclined to destroy quantum coherence and entanglement.In this paper,a combined control scheme with feedback and quantum error correction(QEC)is proposed to achieve the Heisenberg limit in the presence of spontaneous emission,where the feedback control is used to protect a stabilizer code space containing an optimal probe state and an additional control is applied to eliminate the measurement incompatibility among three parameters.Although an ancilla system is necessary for the preparation of the optimal probe state,our scheme does not require the ancilla system to be noiseless.In addition,the control scheme in this paper has a low-dimensional code space.For the three components of a magnetic field,it can achieve the highest estimation precision with only a 2-dimensional code space,while at least a4-dimensional code space is required in the common optimal error correction protocols. 展开更多

In this paper,we focus on the problem of joint estimation of DOA,power and polarization angle from sparse reconstruction perspective with array gain-phase errors,where a partly calibrated cocentered orthogonal loop and dipole(COLD)array is utilized.In detailed implementations,we first combine the output of loop and dipole in second-order statistics domain to receive the source signals completely,and then we use continuous multiplication operator to achieve gain-phase errors calibration.After compensating the gain-phase errors,we construct a log-penalty-based optimization problem to approximate`0 norm and further exploit difference of convex(DC)functions decomposition to achieve DOA.With the aid of the estimated DOAs,the power and polarization angle estimation are obtained by the least squares(LS)method.By conducting numerical simulations,we show the effectiveness and superiorities of the proposed method. 展开更多

In this paper, we design a semantic communications approach based on multi-user semantic fusion for wireless image transmission over DBC. The transmitter extracts semantic features for two users separately and then effectively fuses them for broadcasting by leveraging semantic similarity. Unlike traditional allocation of time, power, or bandwidth, the semantic fusion scheme can dynamically control the weight of the semantic features of the two users to balance their performance. Considering the different channel state information(CSI) of both users over DBC,a DBC-Aware method is developed that embeds the CSI of both users into the joint source-channel coding encoder and fusion module to adapt to the channel.Experimental results show that the proposed system outperforms the traditional broadcasting schemes. 展开更多

The existing indoor fusion positioning methods based on Pedestrian Dead Reckoning(PDR)and geomagnetic technology have the problems of large initial position error,low sensor accuracy,and geomagnetic mismatch.In this study,a novel indoor fusion positioning approach based on the improved particle filter algorithm by geomagnetic iterative matching is proposed,where Wi-Fi,PDR,and geomagnetic signals are integrated to improve indoor positioning performances.One important contribution is that geomagnetic iterative matching is firstly proposed based on the particle filter algorithm.During the positioning process,an iterative window and a constraint window are introduced to limit the particle generation range and the geomagnetic matching range respectively.The position is corrected several times based on geomagnetic iterative matching in the location correction stage when the pedestrian movement is detected,which made up for the shortage of only one time of geomagnetic correction in the existing particle filter algorithm.In addition,this study also proposes a real-time step detection algorithm based on multi-threshold constraints to judge whether pedestrians are moving,which satisfies the real-time requirement of our fusion positioning approach.Through experimental verification,the average positioning accuracy of the proposed approach reaches 1.59 m,which improves 33.2%compared with the existing particle filter fusion positioning algorithms. 展开更多

Based on the dinuclear system model,the calculated evaporation residue cross sections matched well with the current experimental results.The synthesis of superheavy elements Z=121 was systematically studied through combinations of stable projectiles with Z=21-30 and targets with half-lives exceeding 50 d.The influence of mass asymmetry and isotopic dependence on the projectile and target nuclei was investigated in detail.The reactions^(254)Es(^(46)Ti,3n)^(297)121 and^(252)Es(^(46)Ti,3n)^(295)121 were found to be experimentally feasible for synthesizing superheavy element Z=121,with maximal evaporation residue cross sections of 6.619 and 4.123 fb at 219.9 and 223.9 MeV,respectively. 展开更多
