Taking a C1x motor with a backward-facing step which can generate a typical corner vortex as a reference,a numerical methodology using large eddy simulation was established in this study.Based on this methodology,the ...Taking a C1x motor with a backward-facing step which can generate a typical corner vortex as a reference,a numerical methodology using large eddy simulation was established in this study.Based on this methodology,the position of the backward-facing step of the motor was computed and analyzed to determine a basic configuration.Two key geometrical parameters,the head cavity angle and submerged nozzle cavity height,were subsequently introduced.Their effects on the corner vortex motion and their interactions with the acoustic pressure downstream of the backward-facing step were analyzed.The phenomena of vortex acoustic coupling and characteristics of pressure oscillations were further explored.The results show that the maximum error between the simulations and experimental data on the dominant frequency of pressure oscillations is 5.23%,which indicates that the numerical methodology built in this study is highly accurate.When the step is located at less than 5/8 of the total length of the combustion chamber,vortex acoustic coupling occurs,which can increase the pressure oscillations in the motor.Both the vorticity and the scale of vortices in the downstream step increase when the head cavity angle is greater than 24°,which increases the amplitude of the pressure oscillation by maximum 63.0%.The submerged nozzle cavity mainly affects the vortices in the cavity itself rather than those in the downstream step.When the height of the cavity increases from 10 to 20 mm,the pressure oscillation amplitude under the main frequency increases by 39.1%.As this height continues to increase,the amplitude of pressure oscillations increases but the primary frequency decreases.展开更多
In the practical slope engineering,the stability of lower sliding mass(region A)with back tensile cracks of the jointed rock slope attracts more attentions,but the upper rock mass(region B)may also be unstable.Therefo...In the practical slope engineering,the stability of lower sliding mass(region A)with back tensile cracks of the jointed rock slope attracts more attentions,but the upper rock mass(region B)may also be unstable.Therefore,in this study,based on the stepped failure mode of bedding jointed rock slopes,considering the influence of the upper rock mass on the lower stepped sliding mass,the improved failure model for analyzing the interaction force(F_(AB))between two regions is constructed,and the safety factors(F_(S))of two regions and whole region are derived.In addition,this paper proposes a method to determine the existence of F_(AB) using their respective acceleration values(a_(A) and a_(B))when regions A and B are unstable.The influences of key parameters on two regions and the whole region are analyzed.The results show that the variation of the F_(AB) and F_(S) of two regions can be obtained accurately based on the improved failure model.The accuracy of the improved failure model is verified by comparative analysis.The research results can explain the interaction mechanism of two regions and the natural phenomenon of slope failure caused by the development of cracks.展开更多
As a cathode material for thermal batteries,NiS_(2)has a high theoretical capacity but low thermal stability.Besides,the poor formability of NiS_(2)powders also restricts the cathode performance of thermal batteries.I...As a cathode material for thermal batteries,NiS_(2)has a high theoretical capacity but low thermal stability.Besides,the poor formability of NiS_(2)powders also restricts the cathode performance of thermal batteries.In this paper,the novel NiS_(2)/SiO_(2)composite material was developed by high temperature vulcanization to improve the thermal stability formability of NiS_(2).The good filling and lubrication of spherical SiO_(2)can improve the thermal conductivity of NiS_(2)electrode.The discharge test shows that the NiS_(2)/SiO_(2)cathode has a stable discharge voltage at a current density of 200 mA/cm^(2),and the activation time is shortened by nearly 20%compared with the NiS_(2)cathode.In addition,due to the favorable thermal insulation protection of SiO_(2),the initial decomposition temperature of NiS_(2)is increased by 30℃after the addition of SiO_(2).The incorporation of SiO_(2)not only effectively improves the thermal stability and electrochemical properties of NiS_(2),but also improves the cold pressing forming performance of the NiS_(2)powder.Therefore,the novel NiS_(2)/SiO_(2)composite material is more suitable for thermal batteries with high stability and fast response,which is of great significance for improving the maneuverability and quality reliability of weapons and equipment.展开更多

It decreases the penetration probability. To resolve this problem, a random step penetration algorithm with normal distribution starting time is proposed. Using the shaping filters and adjoint system method, the miss distance with different starting times can be acquired. According to the penetration standard, the time window ensuring successful penetration can be calculated and it is used as the 3σ bound of the normally distributed random maneuver. Simulation results indicate that the normally distributed random maneuver has higher penetration probability than the uniformly distributed random maneuver.展开更多

A multi-type ant system(MTAS) algorithm hybridized with the ant colony system(ACS)and the max-min ant system(MMAS) algorithm...The time dependent vehicle routing problem with time windows(TDVRPTW) is considered. A multi-type ant system(MTAS) algorithm hybridized with the ant colony system(ACS)and the max-min ant system(MMAS) algorithms is proposed. This combination absorbs the merits of the two algorithms in solutions construction and optimization separately. In order to improve the efficiency of the insertion procedure, a nearest neighbor selection(NNS) mechanism, an insertion local search procedure and a local optimization procedure are specified in detail. And in order to find a balance between good scouting performance and fast convergence rate, an adaptive pheromone updating strategy is proposed in the MTAS. Computational results confirm the MTAS algorithm's good performance with all these strategies on classic vehicle routing problem with time windows(VRPTW) benchmark instances and the TDVRPTW instances, and some better results especially for the number of vehicles and travel times of the best solutions are obtained in comparison with the previous research.展开更多

Velocity compensation is necessary in order to obtain the good High resolution range profile since this waveform is greatly sensitive to the Doppler shift. The velocity measurement performance of the four styles is analyzed with two pulse trains consisted of positive and negative step frequency waveforms. The velocity of targets can be estimated first coarsely by using the pulse trains with positive-positive step frequency combination, and then fine by positive-negative combination. Simulation results indicate that the method can accomplish the accurate estimation of the velocity with efficient computation and good anti-noise performance and obtain the good HRRP simultaneously.展开更多

CMTT here was defined as the convex...Based on the reliability budget and percentile travel time(PTT) concept, a new travel time index named combined mean travel time(CMTT) under stochastic traffic network was proposed. CMTT here was defined as the convex combination of the conditional expectations of PTT-below and PTT-excess travel times. The former was designed as a risk-optimistic travel time index, and the latter was a risk-pessimistic one. Hence, CMTT was able to describe various routing risk-attitudes. The central idea of CMTT was comprehensively illustrated and the difference among the existing travel time indices was analyzed. The Wardropian combined mean traffic equilibrium(CMTE) model was formulated as a variational inequality and solved via an alternating direction algorithm nesting extra-gradient projection process. Some mathematical properties of CMTT and CMTE model were rigorously proved. Finally, a numerical example was performed to characterize the CMTE network. It is founded that that risk-pessimism is of more benefit to a modest(or low) congestion and risk network, however, it changes to be risk-optimism for a high congestion and risk network.展开更多
The backward-facing step is a critical problem existing in many engineering and industrial applications.In this study,a semi-porous baffle(the root of the baffle is a porous medium and the tip is solid) is placed behi...The backward-facing step is a critical problem existing in many engineering and industrial applications.In this study,a semi-porous baffle(the root of the baffle is a porous medium and the tip is solid) is placed behind the step.The effects of the length of the porous part,and the baffle location on the energy transfer and pressure drop are studied in different Reynolds numbers(Re=100,200,300,400,500).The effect of the Darcy number of the porous medium on the aforementioned parameters is also investigated.Both the local maximum and average relative Nusselt numbers(divided by the Nusselt of the base case with no baffle at the same Reynolds) and relative pressure drop(calculated as the relative Nusselt number) are reported.The results show that by adoption of the proper length of the porous medium,the average relative and maximum local Nusselt numbers could be enhanced by 20% and 90%,respectively.Low permeable porous media give better energy transfer.For example,porous media with Da=10^(-5) give 30% better maximum local Nusselt number and about 7% higher average Nusselt number with respect to the same case with Da=10^(-2).展开更多
In this paper,the experimental investigation on the performance improvement of conventional stepped solar still is conducted.The steps are covered by the porous material to improve the performance of the conventional ...In this paper,the experimental investigation on the performance improvement of conventional stepped solar still is conducted.The steps are covered by the porous material to improve the performance of the conventional device and increase the evaporation rate.All the parameters,including the temperature on the glass surface,the water temperature inside the evaporation zone,and the amount of water produced in both conventional and modified stepped solar stills are measured and compared.The efficiency of two devices and their exergy efficiency have been calculated.Finally,the economic analysis of both devices has been done to check the economic feasibility of the modified device.The amount of freshwater generated during one day was 2244.4 and 3076.2 mL/m^(2),respectively for the conventional and modified stepped solar stills.As a result,the amount of water produced in one day by modified stepped solar still is 35.5% more than the conventional one.Also,the costs for the conventional and modified stepped solar stills have been calculated as 0.0359 and 0.029$/(L·m^(-2)),respectively.展开更多

Through the real-time statistic of the inventory quantities, this paper considers the precise (Q, τ) inventory cost model of dual supplier procurement by using an infinitesimal dividing method. The traditional modeling method of the inventory cost for dual supplier procurement includes complex procedures. To reduce the complexity effectively, the presented method investigates the statistics properties in real-time of the inventory quantities with the application of the infinitesimal dividing method. It is proved that the optimal holding and shortage costs of dual supplier procurement are less than those of single supplier procurement respectively. With the assumption that both suppliers have the same distribution of lead times, the convexity of the cost function per unit time is proved. So the optimal solution can be easily obtained by applying the classical convex optimization methods. The numerical examples are given to verify the main conclusions.展开更多
This investigation numerically examined the combined impacts of different turbulator shapes,Al_(2)O_(3)/water nanofluid,and inclined magnetic field on the thermal behavior of micro-scale inclined forward-facing step(M...This investigation numerically examined the combined impacts of different turbulator shapes,Al_(2)O_(3)/water nanofluid,and inclined magnetic field on the thermal behavior of micro-scale inclined forward-facing step(MSIFFS).The length and height for all turbulators were considered 0.0979 and 0.5 mm,respectively,and the Reynolds number varied from 5000 to 10000.In order to compare the skin friction coefficient(SFC) and the heat transfer rate(HTR)simultaneously,the thermal performance factor parameter(TPF) was selected.The results show that all considered cases equipped with turbulators were thermodynamically more advantageous over the simple MSIFFS.Besides,using Al_(2)O_(3)/water nanofluid with different nanoparticles volume fractions(NVF) in the presence of inclined magnetic field(IMF)increased HTR.With an increment of NVF from 1% to 4% and magnetic field density(MFD) from 0.002 to 0.008 T,HTR and subsequently TPF improved.The best result was observed for MSIFFS equipped with a trapezoidal-shaped turbulator with 4% Al_(2)O_(3) in the presence of IMF(B=0.008 T).The TPF increased with the augmentation of Re,and the maximum value of it was 5.2366 for MSIFFS equipped with a trapezoidal-shaped turbulator with 4% Al_(2)O_(3),B=0.008 T,and Re=10000.展开更多

文摘This investigation numerically examined the combined impacts of different turbulator shapes,Al_(2)O_(3)/water nanofluid,and inclined magnetic field on the thermal behavior of micro-scale inclined forward-facing step(MSIFFS).The length and height for all turbulators were considered 0.0979 and 0.5 mm,respectively,and the Reynolds number varied from 5000 to 10000.In order to compare the skin friction coefficient(SFC) and the heat transfer rate(HTR)simultaneously,the thermal performance factor parameter(TPF) was selected.The results show that all considered cases equipped with turbulators were thermodynamically more advantageous over the simple MSIFFS.Besides,using Al_(2)O_(3)/water nanofluid with different nanoparticles volume fractions(NVF) in the presence of inclined magnetic field(IMF)increased HTR.With an increment of NVF from 1% to 4% and magnetic field density(MFD) from 0.002 to 0.008 T,HTR and subsequently TPF improved.The best result was observed for MSIFFS equipped with a trapezoidal-shaped turbulator with 4% Al_(2)O_(3) in the presence of IMF(B=0.008 T).The TPF increased with the augmentation of Re,and the maximum value of it was 5.2366 for MSIFFS equipped with a trapezoidal-shaped turbulator with 4% Al_(2)O_(3),B=0.008 T,and Re=10000.

文摘A new roll shifting strategy with varying stroke and varying step was investigated,Two characteristic parameters including cat ear height and gap contour smoothness were introduced to assess the effect of shifting strategy on roll wear,and the relation between characteristic parameters and shifting strategy was established.Both varying stroke and varying step can reduce cat ear height and gap contour smoothness,so the shifting strategy with varying stroke and varying step is better than the one with either varying stroke or varying step,Based on the effect of shifting control parameters on characteristic parameters of roll wear,the selection principle of these shifting control parameters was gained.A case study was conducted to validate the proposed roll shifting strategy,reducing uncontrollable quartic loading gap contour,improving strip profile and extending rolling length of a rolling campaign.
