The data from DEMETER satellite during the period from 23 May t...A destructive shock with magnitude of 6.3 occurred on 2 June 2007 at 21h34min56s UT in Pu’er region (23.0°N, 101.1°E), Yunnan Province, China. The data from DEMETER satellite during the period from 23 May to 2 June, i.e., ten days before the earthquake and one day just on the day of earthquake occurrence, were analyzed. Among the 284 orbits of DEMETER during the period, 29 orbits with the trace passing through the region within 1 888 km from the epicenter were selected to be studied. Seven anomalous events were found on the dataset of the seven orbits among the 29 ones. There existed synchronous perturbations on the variations of the spectrogram of the electric field and the variations of the density and temperature of the ions and electron, in contrast with the variations of its surround- ing area. And five events appeared in the space within 1 888 km from the epicenter while the other two were out of the studied area. Electrostatic turbulences were also recorded with the synchronous perturbations with that in the electron density and ions density in plasma in the region near the epicenter in the five events, which seems to sug- gest that there be some physical relation between these events and the preparation processes of Pu’er earthquake.展开更多

The confidence bound, called the grid ionospheric vertical error(GIVE), can only be determined with the aid of a threat model which is used to restrict the expected ionospheric behavior. However, the spatial threat model at present widespread used, which is based on fit radius and relative centroid metric(RCM), is too conservative or the resulting GIVEs will be too large and will reduce the availability of satellite-based augmentation system(SBAS). In this paper, layered two-dimensional parameters, the vertical direction double RCMs, are introduced based on the spatial variability of the ionosphere. Comparing with the traditional threat model, the experimental results show that the user ionospheric vertical error(UIVE) average reduction rate reaches 16%. And the 95% protection level of conterminous United States(CONUS) is 28%, even under disturbed days, which reaches about 5% reduction rates.The results show that the system service performance has been improved better.展开更多
The ionosphere varies over multiple time scales,which are classified into two categories: the climatology and weather variations.In this national report,we give a brief summary of recent progresses in ionospheric clim...The ionosphere varies over multiple time scales,which are classified into two categories: the climatology and weather variations.In this national report,we give a brief summary of recent progresses in ionospheric climatology with focus on(1) the seasonal variations,(2) solar cycle effects, and(3) empirical modeling of the ionosphere.The seasonal variations of the ionosphere have been explored in many works to give a more detailed picture with regional and global features at various altitudes by analyzing the observation data from various sources and models.Moreover,a series of studies reported the response of the ionosphere to solar cycle variations,which revealed some novel and detailed features of solar activity dependence of ionospheric parameters at different altitudes. These investigations have improved our understanding on the states of the ionosphere and underlying fundamental processes,provided clues to future studies on ionospheric weather,and guided ionospheric modeling,forecasting and related applications.展开更多

The ionospheric responses to two strong storms on 17-19 August 2003 and 22-23 January 2004 are studied,using the data from Irkutsk(52.5°N,104°E) and Hainan(19.5°N,109°E) ionospheric stations.The an...The ionospheric responses to two strong storms on 17-19 August 2003 and 22-23 January 2004 are studied,using the data from Irkutsk(52.5°N,104°E) and Hainan(19.5°N,109°E) ionospheric stations.The analysis of variations in relative deviations of the critical frequency △f_0F_2 revealed that at middle latitudes(Irkutsk) negative disturbances were observed in the summer ionosphere; positive and negative ones,in the winter ionosphere during the main and recovery phases respectively.At low latitudes(Hainan),the disturbances were positive in all the cases considered. Mechanisms of the disturbances were analyzed with the aid of empirical models of the neutral atmosphere NRLMSISE-00 and thermospheric wind HWM07.The main factors determining △f_0F_2 variations at middle latitudes during the storms were demonstrated to be the disturbed equatorward thermospheric wind transporting the disturbed atmospheric composition,the increase in the atomic oxygen concentration,and the passage of internal gravity waves.At low latitudes,the effects associated with neutral composition variations are less significant than those of the thermospheric wind and electric fields.展开更多

The ionospheric effect from solar activity can be seen as the background in the process of detecting the ionospheric precursor prior to strong earthquakes.The ionospheric variation induced by the forthcoming earthquak...The ionospheric effect from solar activity can be seen as the background in the process of detecting the ionospheric precursor prior to strong earthquakes.The ionospheric variation induced by the forthcoming earthquake can be covered by the strong solar background during the period of high solar activity.The issue of how to remove the ionospheric effect from solar radiation is of outstanding significance.In this paper,a method of Empirical Mode Decomposition(EMD) is used to eliminate the solar background.As a case study,the global ionospheric map TEC before the M9.0 Tohoku earthquake on 11 March 2011 is analyzed.After the effect of solar radiation is removed using the EMD method,the precursor of the imminent earthquake is more obvious.The ionospheric anomaly had a local character and only appeared close to the earthquake epicenter while the useful signals were covered by the solar radiation background with traditional method,which implies that the EMD method is effective in eliminating solar radiation background.展开更多

By employi...This paper proposes second-order consensus protocols with time-delays and gives the measure of the robustness of the protocols to the time-delay existing in the network of agents with second-order dynamics. By employing a frequency domain method, it is proven that the information states and their time derivatives of all the agents in the network achieve consensus asymptotically, respectively, for appropriate communication timedelay if the topology of weighted network is connected. Particularly, a tight upper bound on the communication time-delay that can be tolerated in the dynamic network is found. The consensus protocols are distributed in the sense that each agent only needs information from its neighboring agents, which reduces the complexity of connections between neighboring agents significantly. Numerical simulation results are provided to demonstrate the effectiveness and the sharpness of the theoretical results for second-order consensus in networks in the presence of communication time-delays.展开更多

First, the path continuity assumption does not seem reason- able in view of the possibility of sudden price variations (jumps) resulting of market crashes. A solution is to use stochastic processes with jumps, that will account for sudden variations of the asset prices. On the other hand, such jump models are generally based on the Poisson random measure. Many popular economic and financial models described by stochastic differential equations with Poisson jumps. This paper deals with the approximate controllability of a class of second-order neutral stochastic differential equations with infinite delay and Poisson jumps. By using the cosine family of operators, stochastic analysis techniques, a new set of sufficient conditions are derived for the approximate controllability of the above control system. In the equatorial region,deep amplitude fading in global positioning system(GPS)signals frequently occurs during the strong ionospheric scintillation,it can lead to the loss of lock in GPS carrier tracking loops,and r...In the equatorial region,deep amplitude fading in global positioning system(GPS)signals frequently occurs during the strong ionospheric scintillation,it can lead to the loss of lock in GPS carrier tracking loops,and result in increased positioning error and even navigation interruption.The relationships between amplitude scintillation indices and detrended carrier frequency are investigated,based on GPS L1 C/A signals during the last peak of the solar cycle at the low latitude site of São Josédos Campos,Brazil(23.2S,45.9W)from 2013 to 2015.Corresponding mathematic model of the probability distribution function is built for the first time to provide statistical analysis on the above relationships.The results show that the standard carrier frequencies reveal an almost linear relation with the amplitude scintillation indices.Moreover,the frequency widths of detrended frequency are proportional to levels of amplitude scintillation when the value of the peak probability is lower than the corresponding boundary.A conclusion can be drawn that different levels of amplitude scintillation will influence the fluctuation of the carrier frequency.The analysis will provide useful guidance to set the receiver’s bandwidth with respect to the different scintillation levels and design the advanced tracking algorithms to improve the robustness and precision of the GPS receiver.展开更多

By introducing the H2 norm of the transfer function from disturbance to estimation error, sufficient and necessary conditions for disturbance decoupling in matrix second-order linear systems are established and are arranged into constraints on the design parameters via Luenberger function observers in terms of the closed-loop eigenvalues and the group of design parameters provided by the eigenstructure assignment approach. Therefore, the disturbance decoupling problem is converted into an eigenstructure assignment problem with extra parameter constraints. A simple example is investigated to show the effect and simplicity of the approach.展开更多

A theoretical model of ionospheric electric fields at mid-and low-latitudes is developed.In the geomagnetic dipolar coordinate system,the ionospheric dynamo equations were solved,and the ionospheric electric potential...A theoretical model of ionospheric electric fields at mid-and low-latitudes is developed.In the geomagnetic dipolar coordinate system,the ionospheric dynamo equations were solved,and the ionospheric electric potential and electric field were derived respectively.Major parameters for the model inputs,such as the neutral winds,the densities and temperatures of electron,ions and neutrals,are obtained from empirical models.The global ionospheric electrical potential and field at mid-and low-latitudes derived from our model are largely in agreement with the results presented by other authors and the empirical model.Using our model,it is found that the diurnal component of the HWM93 wind mainly contributed to the formation of the vertical electric field,while the semidiurnal component mainly contributed to the zonal electric field.Finally,by adjustment of the input F region winds and conductivities,most discrepancies between our model and the empirical one can be eliminated,and it is proved that the F region dynamo is the most significant contribution to the electric fields.展开更多

There were used the data from a network of ionospheric stations located in the opposite longitudinal sectors of 80°-150° E and 250°-310° E.This analysis has permitted us to conclude that the detected differences in the variations of the disturbances are likely to be determined by the local time difference of the geomagnetic storm development, its intensity and by the different illumination conditions of the ionosphere.展开更多

The main purpose of this research is the second-order modeling of flow and turbulent heat flux in nonpremixed methane-air combustion.A turbulent stream of non-premixed combustion in a stoichiometric condition,is numer...The main purpose of this research is the second-order modeling of flow and turbulent heat flux in nonpremixed methane-air combustion.A turbulent stream of non-premixed combustion in a stoichiometric condition,is numerically analyzed through the Reynolds averaged Navier-Stokes(RANS) equations.For modeling radiation and combustion,the discrete ordinates(DO) and eddy dissipation concept model have been applied.The Reynolds stress transport model(RSM) also was used for turbulence modeling.For THF in the energy equation,the GGDH model and high order algebraic model of HOGGDH with simple eddy diffusivity model have been applied.Comparing the numerical results of the SED model(with the turbulent Prandtl 0.85) and the second-order heat flux models with available experimental data follows that applying the second-order models significantly led to the modification of predicting temperature distribution and species mass fraction distribution in the combustion chamber.Calculation of turbulent Prandtl number in the combustion chamber shows that the assumption of Pr_(t) of 0.85 is far from reality and Pr_(t) in different areas varies from 0.4 to 1.2.展开更多

文摘In the equatorial region,deep amplitude fading in global positioning system(GPS)signals frequently occurs during the strong ionospheric scintillation,it can lead to the loss of lock in GPS carrier tracking loops,and result in increased positioning error and even navigation interruption.The relationships between amplitude scintillation indices and detrended carrier frequency are investigated,based on GPS L1 C/A signals during the last peak of the solar cycle at the low latitude site of São Josédos Campos,Brazil(23.2S,45.9W)from 2013 to 2015.Corresponding mathematic model of the probability distribution function is built for the first time to provide statistical analysis on the above relationships.The results show that the standard carrier frequencies reveal an almost linear relation with the amplitude scintillation indices.Moreover,the frequency widths of detrended frequency are proportional to levels of amplitude scintillation when the value of the peak probability is lower than the corresponding boundary.A conclusion can be drawn that different levels of amplitude scintillation will influence the fluctuation of the carrier frequency.The analysis will provide useful guidance to set the receiver’s bandwidth with respect to the different scintillation levels and design the advanced tracking algorithms to improve the robustness and precision of the GPS receiver.
文摘A simple method for disturbance decoupling for matrix second-order linear systems is proposed directly in matrix second-order framework via Luenberger function observers based on complete parametric eigenstructure assignment. By introducing the H2 norm of the transfer function from disturbance to estimation error, sufficient and necessary conditions for disturbance decoupling in matrix second-order linear systems are established and are arranged into constraints on the design parameters via Luenberger function observers in terms of the closed-loop eigenvalues and the group of design parameters provided by the eigenstructure assignment approach. Therefore, the disturbance decoupling problem is converted into an eigenstructure assignment problem with extra parameter constraints. A simple example is investigated to show the effect and simplicity of the approach.
文摘This paper reports statistical results of Seismo-Ionospheric Anomalies(SIAs) of the Total Electron Content(TEC) in the Global Ionosphere Map(GIM) associated with 56 M≥6.0 earthquakes in China during 1998—2012.To detect SIA,a quartile-based(i.e.median-based) process is performed.TEC anomalies for the period of earthquakes without being led by magnetic storms about 10 days are further isolated and examined to confirm the SIP existence.Results show that SIA is the TEC significantly decrease in the afternoon period 2—9 days before the earthquakes in China,which is in a good agreement with the SIA appearing before the 12 May 2008 M 8.0 Wenchuan earthquake.

文摘A theoretical model of ionospheric electric fields at mid-and low-latitudes is developed.In the geomagnetic dipolar coordinate system,the ionospheric dynamo equations were solved,and the ionospheric electric potential and electric field were derived respectively.Major parameters for the model inputs,such as the neutral winds,the densities and temperatures of electron,ions and neutrals,are obtained from empirical models.The global ionospheric electrical potential and field at mid-and low-latitudes derived from our model are largely in agreement with the results presented by other authors and the empirical model.Using our model,it is found that the diurnal component of the HWM93 wind mainly contributed to the formation of the vertical electric field,while the semidiurnal component mainly contributed to the zonal electric field.Finally,by adjustment of the input F region winds and conductivities,most discrepancies between our model and the empirical one can be eliminated,and it is proved that the F region dynamo is the most significant contribution to the electric fields.

文摘This paper analyzes the state of the ionosphere during two geomagnetic storms of a different intensity evolving in different sectors of local time in different seasons. There were used the data from a network of ionospheric stations located in the opposite longitudinal sectors of 80°-150° E and 250°-310° E.This analysis has permitted us to conclude that the detected differences in the variations of the disturbances are likely to be determined by the local time difference of the geomagnetic storm development, its intensity and by the different illumination conditions of the ionosphere.

As a national report prepared for COSPAR, the works concerned here are limited to those made by Chinese scientists during 2004-2006. The main contents include the sudden ionospheric disturbances, the ionospheric storms, the traveling ionospheric disturbances, ionospheric variability, the annual and semiannual ionospheric variations, the solar cycle ionospheric variations, and the long term ionospheric changes.

文摘The main purpose of this research is the second-order modeling of flow and turbulent heat flux in nonpremixed methane-air combustion.A turbulent stream of non-premixed combustion in a stoichiometric condition,is numerically analyzed through the Reynolds averaged Navier-Stokes(RANS) equations.For modeling radiation and combustion,the discrete ordinates(DO) and eddy dissipation concept model have been applied.The Reynolds stress transport model(RSM) also was used for turbulence modeling.For THF in the energy equation,the GGDH model and high order algebraic model of HOGGDH with simple eddy diffusivity model have been applied.Comparing the numerical results of the SED model(with the turbulent Prandtl 0.85) and the second-order heat flux models with available experimental data follows that applying the second-order models significantly led to the modification of predicting temperature distribution and species mass fraction distribution in the combustion chamber.Calculation of turbulent Prandtl number in the combustion chamber shows that the assumption of Pr_(t) of 0.85 is far from reality and Pr_(t) in different areas varies from 0.4 to 1.2.
