The severe erosion and inadequate mechanical strength are prominent challenges for high-energy gun propellants.To address it,novel PTW@PDA composites was prepared by polydopamine(PDA)-modifying onto potassium titanate whisker(PTW,K_(2)Ti_(6)O_(13)),and after was incorporated into gun propellant as erosion-reducing and mechanical-reinforcing fillers.The interfacial characterizations results indicated that as-prepared PTW@PDA composites exhibits an enhanced surface compatible with propellant matrix,thereby facilitating their dispersion into propellants more effectively than raw PTW materials.Compared to original propellants,PTW@PDA-modified propellants exhibited significant less erosion,with a Ti-Kbased protective coating being detected on the eroded steel.And 0.5 wt%and 1.0 wt%addition of PTW@PDA significantly improved impact,compressive and tensile strength of propellants.Despite the inevitably reduction in relative force,PTW@PDA slightly increase propellant burning rate while exerting little adverse impact on propellant dynamic activity.This strategy can provide a promising alternative to develop high-energy gun propellant with less erosion and more mechanical strength. 展开更多

With the development of high energy solid propellants,it is critical to evaluate the safety and power performance of solid propellants in the face of threats such as unmanned aerial vehicles(UAVs)when transporting and using them in contemporary warfare.An electric probe-type cylinder test measured the displacement-time behavior of NEPE high-energy solid propellant,and the parameters of the Jones-Wilkins-Lee(JWL)equation of state(EOS)were derived using particle swarm optimization(PSO)with the Gurney energy model.Further,the parameters of JWL-Miller EOS,determined through AUTODYN simulations,were validated by comparing airburst process simulations with experimental overpressure data.The study established a method for determining EOS parameters of high-energy propellants,achieving a high degree of accuracy.The derived parameters ensure precise modeling of propellant behavior,offering a reliable foundation for future applications in solid rocket motor performance optimization and safety assessment. 展开更多

The simulation of compression and fracture of charge bed in chamber is one of the key problems in the study of launch safety of gun propellant charge. A new kind of experimental device that can be used for simulation is given. Its structure and operational principle are introduced. Using a semi-closed vessel as a source of compression force, the device can simulate any kind of dynamic environment in a gun propellant charge. Using the low temperature inert gas (N2) as the compression medium, the device can not only ensure that the simulation is real, but also protect the fragmentized propellant from combustion after experiment. Using the device, many simulation experiments have been accomplished, and dynamic environment of propellant fracture is acquired. With the experiments, fragmentized propellant for the compression and fracture of charge bed is obtained. Results of experiments show that the new device can be used to study the principle of the compression and fracture of charge bed. 展开更多

Gradiently denitrated gun propellant(GDGP)prepared by a“gradient denitration”strategy is obviously superior in progressive burning performance to the traditional deterred gun propellant.Currently,the preparation of GDGP employed a tedious two-step method involving organic solvents,which hinders the large-scale preparation of GDGP.In this paper,GDGP was successfully prepared via a novelty and environmentally friendly one-step method.The obtained samples were characterized by FT-IR,Raman,SEM and XPS.The results showed that the content of nitrate groups gradiently increased from the surface to the core in the surface layer of GDGP and the surface layer of GDGP exhibited a higher compaction than that of raw gun propellant,with a well-preserved nitrocellulose structure.The denitration process enabled the propellant surface with regressive energy density and good progressive burning performance,as confirmed by oxygen bomb and closed bomb test.At the same time,the effects of different solvents on the component loss of propellant were compared.The result showed that water caused the least component loss.Finally,the stability of GDGP was confirmed by methyl-violet test.This work not only provided environmentally friendly,simple and economic preparation of GDGP,but also confirmed the stability of GDGP prepared by this method. 展开更多

Smart materials,which exhibit shape memory behavior in response to external stimuli,have shown great potential for use in biomedical applications.In this study,an energetic composite was fabricated using a UV-assisted DIW 3D printing technique and a shape memory material(SMP)as the binder.This composite has the ability to reduce the impact of external factors and adjust gun propellant combustion behavior.The composition and 3D printing process were delineated,while the internal structure and shape memory performance of the composite material were studied.The energetic SMP composite exhibits an angle of reversal of 18 s at 70°,with a maximum elongation typically reaching up to 280% of the original length and a recovery length of approximately 105%during ten cycles.Additionally,thermal decomposition and combustion behavior were also demonstrated for the energetic SMP composite. 展开更多

Cellulose acetate nitrate(CAN) was used as an insensitive energetic binder to improve the insensitive munitions(IM) properties of gun propellants to replace the M1 propellant used in 105 mm artillery charges.CAN contains the energetic nitro groups found in nitrocellulose(NC),but also acetyl functionalities,which lowered the polymer's sensitivity to heat and shock,and therefore improved its IM properties relative to NC.The formulation,development and small-scale characterization testing of several CAN-based propellants were done.The formulations,using insensitive energetic solid fillers and high-nitrogen modifiers in place of nitramine were completed.The small scale characterization testing,such as closed bomb testing,small scale sensitivity,thermal stability,and chemical compatibility were done.The mechanical response of the propellants under high-rate uni-axial compression at,hot,cold,and ambient temperatures were also completed.Critical diameter testing,hot fragment conductive ignition(HFCI) tests were done to evaluate the propellants' responses to thermal and shock stimuli.Utilizing the propellant chemical composition,theoretical predictions of erosivity were completed.All the small scale test results were utilized to down-select the promising CAN based formulations for large scale demonstration testing such as the ballistic performance and fragment impact testing in the105 mm M67 artillery charge configurations.The test results completed in the small and large scale testing are discussed. 展开更多

The U.S. military has a need for more powerful propellants with balanced/stoichiometric amounts of fuel and oxidants. However, balanced and more powerful propellants lead to accelerated gun barrel erosion and markedly shortened useful barrel life. Boron nitride(BN) is an interesting potential additive for propellants that could reduce gun wear effects in advanced propellants(US patent pending 2015-026P). Hexagonal boron nitride is a good lubricant that can provide wear resistance and lower flame temperatures for gun barrels. Further, boron can dope steel, which drastically improves its strength and wear resistance, and can block the formation of softer carbides. A scalable synthesis method for producing boron nitride nano-particles that can be readily dispersed into propellants has been developed. Even dispersion of the nano-particles in a double-base propellant has been demonstrated using a solvent-based processing approach. Stability of a composite propellant with the BN additive was verified. In this paper, results from propellant testing of boron nitride nano-composite propellants are presented, including closed bomb and wear and erosion testing. Detailed characterization of the erosion tester substrates before and after firing was obtained by electron microscopy,inductively coupled plasma and x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. This promising boron nitride additive shows the ability to improve gun wear and erosion resistance without any destabilizing effects to the propellant. Potential applications could include less erosive propellants in propellant ammunition for large, medium and small diameter fire arms. 展开更多

为研究火药燃烧驱动二级轻气炮发射过程的多物理场耦合机制,开展了全三维数值模拟研究。以30 mm口径轻气炮为研究对象,构建了包含燃烧室化学反应、发射管湍流气体流动及热-流-固耦合作用的数理模型。针对燃烧室固相反应,采用动态燃烧模... 为研究火药燃烧驱动二级轻气炮发射过程的多物理场耦合机制,开展了全三维数值模拟研究。以30 mm口径轻气炮为研究对象,构建了包含燃烧室化学反应、发射管湍流气体流动及热-流-固耦合作用的数理模型。针对燃烧室固相反应,采用动态燃烧模型;针对高可压缩湍流气体,采用五阶WENO格式结合Gauss积分与三阶Runge-Kutta TVD方法,实现空间-时间五阶精度离散。通过多块结构化动网格技术处理流场边界移动,并设计基于加权余量法的界面数据传递算法,确保热-流-固耦合过程中能量守恒。数值仿真结果表明:弹丸出膛速度为5 423 m/s,与实验值(5 560 m/s)相对误差为2.46%;压力场、温度场及活塞变形过程与实验数据吻合良好,验证了模型准确性。文中研究为二级轻气炮参数优化与性能提升提供了理论支持。 展开更多

随着未来战争向全域化作战方式转变,作战武器携行弹药必然面对极端高温或低温贮存、运输和使用等环境。硝基胍发射药具有高能低烧蚀特性,广泛应用于大口径武器。为研究某舰载大口径武器用超大弧厚发射药(弧厚4.2 mm)的力学与燃烧等特性... 随着未来战争向全域化作战方式转变,作战武器携行弹药必然面对极端高温或低温贮存、运输和使用等环境。硝基胍发射药具有高能低烧蚀特性,广泛应用于大口径武器。为研究某舰载大口径武器用超大弧厚发射药(弧厚4.2 mm)的力学与燃烧等特性,通过差热扫描量热仪-热重分析、密闭爆发器实验、简支梁抗冲击和落锤临界破碎强度测试,研究超大弧厚硝基胍发射药的热分解性能、力学与燃烧性能,并借助扫描电子显微镜、傅里叶红外光谱仪、X-射线光电子能谱等表征研究发射药的结构形貌与组成。研究结果表明:超大弧厚硝基胍发射药在不同温度条件下燃烧性能稳定,燃烧曲线平滑无阶跃,符合发射药燃烧规律;与某定型配方叠氮硝基胍发射药相比,在相同弧厚与相同落锤重量条件下,超大弧厚硝基胍发射药在不同温度条件下的临界破碎的落锤高度更高、冲击强度更大,简支梁抗冲击强度为叠氮硝基胍发射药的1.6倍以上,证明超大弧厚硝基胍发射药力学性能优良;此外,超大弧厚硝基胍发射药的热稳定性良好;研究结论可为今后舰载等高性能作战平台的大口径武器用超大弧厚发射药的研制提供基础支撑与指导。 展开更多

为了分析钝感高能硝胺发射药内弹道性能的影响因素,基于密闭爆发器试验和14.5 mm弹道测试构建了高能硝胺发射药的内弹道模型,采用粒子群算法拟合了模型修正系数,进而基于模型理论计算分析了燃烧渐增性因子Pr及装药量ω对弹丸初速V_(0)... 为了分析钝感高能硝胺发射药内弹道性能的影响因素,基于密闭爆发器试验和14.5 mm弹道测试构建了高能硝胺发射药的内弹道模型,采用粒子群算法拟合了模型修正系数,进而基于模型理论计算分析了燃烧渐增性因子Pr及装药量ω对弹丸初速V_(0)和最大膛压p_(m)的影响。结果表明:基于经典内弹道理论预测高能硝胺发射药动态燃烧特性时,需考虑燃速修正系数χ和火药力利用系数η。与静态燃烧相比,动态燃烧的等效燃速相对增长可超过10%。同时,由于能量耗散的影响,理论计算中仅80%左右的火药力可有效转换为弹丸动能。发射药内弹道性能受Pr、ω、χ和η的耦合影响。作为主要机制,发射药静态燃烧性能和装药量显著影响着内弹道性能;V_(0)和ω线性正相关,p_(m)可表征为ω的指数函数;Pr决定了不同关联式中的系数。然而,在不同工艺条件下,χ和η的波动使内弹道性能变化,增大了拟合关联式的预测偏差。 展开更多

双螺杆捏合方式制备的三基发射药的流变性研究

为掌握三基发射药连续化捏合工艺中药料的流变特性,提高工艺模型的准确性,按照三基发射药代料配方制备了预混药料,使用双螺杆挤出机对预混药料进行捏合,并通过专用双料筒毛细管流变仪测试捏合后药料的流变特性。分别改变双螺杆挤出机的... 为掌握三基发射药连续化捏合工艺中药料的流变特性,提高工艺模型的准确性,按照三基发射药代料配方制备了预混药料,使用双螺杆挤出机对预混药料进行捏合,并通过专用双料筒毛细管流变仪测试捏合后药料的流变特性。分别改变双螺杆挤出机的螺杆转速和捏合温度、药料的固含量和溶剂比,分析以上变量对三基发射药流变学参数的影响规律。结果表明:双螺杆捏合后,药料的本构方程与Carreau-Yasuda本构模型拟合程度较高;一定范围内,螺杆转速或捏合温度的提高会使捏合后的药料的剪切黏度降低;同时,螺杆转速的提高会使药料的停留时间减少,而过短的停留时间会导致捏合后的药料的黏度上升;固含量的增加或溶剂比的减小会使捏合后的药料的剪切黏度增大,而黏度增大会使药料的停留时间增长,一定程度上使药料受到更充分的捏合作用。 展开更多

为探究新型含能光固化黏结剂端丙烯酸酯基聚3⁃硝酸酯甲基⁃3⁃甲基氧杂环丁烷(APNIMMO)对RDX基光固化发射药热分解性能和燃烧性能的影响,设计并利用3D打印制备了一种高能APNIMMO/RDX发射药样品,采用差示扫描量热仪(DSC)和热分析红外气质... 为探究新型含能光固化黏结剂端丙烯酸酯基聚3⁃硝酸酯甲基⁃3⁃甲基氧杂环丁烷(APNIMMO)对RDX基光固化发射药热分解性能和燃烧性能的影响,设计并利用3D打印制备了一种高能APNIMMO/RDX发射药样品,采用差示扫描量热仪(DSC)和热分析红外气质联用仪(TG⁃DSC⁃FTIR⁃GC)研究了APNIMMO/RDX光固化发射药的热分解过程和相关分解动力学参数,并通过密闭爆发器研究了APNIMMO/RDX光固化发射药的燃烧性能。结果表明:APNIMMO/RDX光固化发射药的热失重分为两个主要阶段,热失重和气体产物逸出主要集中在第Ⅰ阶段(158.9~234.3℃),此阶段APNIMMO/RDX的热分解起始于APNIMMO的分解放热,并促进RDX的熔融分解,导致RDX分解提前,这也导致了APNIMMO/RDX的临界爆炸温度(Tpe)要低于纯RDX;第Ⅱ阶段(234.3℃至测试结束温度)表现为既无放热也无吸热的“热中性”状态,这一阶段主要是APNIMMO侧链硝酸酯基完全分解后主链的缓慢分解。燃烧性能结果表明APNIMMO/RDX发射药燃速系数较低,压力指数偏高,中止燃烧试验样品表面存在大量孔穴,分析认为在APNIMMO/RDX发射药体系中,由于RDX含量较多,且在高压下RDX的燃速比APNIMMO黏结剂要大,两者间燃速的差异导致燃烧产生的热量和压力沿着形成的孔穴深入整个发射药内部,该过程受压力影响较大,因此压力指数偏高。 展开更多

为探索工艺参数对球扁药脱硝反应的影响规律,利用响应面法的Box-Behnken设计优化球扁药脱硝工艺。在单因素实验基础上,分析了脱硝剂质量分数、反应温度和反应时间对梯度硝基球扁药爆热的影响;利用显微拉曼技术研究了梯度硝基球扁药的微... 为探索工艺参数对球扁药脱硝反应的影响规律,利用响应面法的Box-Behnken设计优化球扁药脱硝工艺。在单因素实验基础上,分析了脱硝剂质量分数、反应温度和反应时间对梯度硝基球扁药爆热的影响;利用显微拉曼技术研究了梯度硝基球扁药的微观结构组成;并采用密闭爆发器实验对脱硝前、后球扁药的定容燃烧性能进行研究。单因素实验和响应面法优化结果均表明,影响梯度硝基球扁药性能的工艺参数主次顺序为:反应温度、反应时间、脱硝剂质量分数。通过响应面法建立的脱硝工艺参数与梯度硝基球扁药爆热之间的模型相关系数为0.9785,且实验验证所得爆热与响应面模型预测的爆热基本吻合,表明优化得到的响应面模型具有可靠性和有效性。拉曼表征结果表明,梯度硝基球扁药表层硝酸酯基的分布由表及里呈梯度递增趋势。通过调节工艺参数,使得梯度硝基球扁药的爆热和燃烧渐增性大范围可控,为梯度硝基球扁药性能的精准调控提供了技术和理论支持。 展开更多

This paper presents the results of a comparative investigation into the effects of the ignition method on the ballistic properties of a single-base gun propellant,as determined via closed vessel tests.Conventional gunpowder ignition and plasma jet ignition methods were used,and differences in the ignition time were analysed.The influence of the ignition method on the dynamic vivacity is discussed.It is shown that this influence is significant in the first phase of the combustion process,and with respect to the low values of the loading density.In the second phase of the combustion process,and for large values of the loading density,the dynamic vivacity plots for the two ignition methods converge.Regarding the burning law,close values of the exponent were obtained for the two ignition methods.The dynamic vivacity plots determined for plasma ignition reveal stronger dependence on the loading density than those determined for gunpowder ignition.The conclusion is that plasma ignition is not a solution to the problems inherent to the process of determining the ballistic properties of propellants,which results in deviation of the burning process from the geometric burning law. 展开更多
