To speed the extraction of roads, an approach based on particle filtering to extract automatically roads from high resolution imagery is proposed. Particle filtering provides a statistical framework for propagating sample-based approximations of posterior distributions and has almost no restriction on the ingredients of the model. We integrate the similarity of grey value and the edge point distribution of roads into particle filtering to deal with complex scenes. To handle road appearance changes the tracking algorithm is allowed to update the road model during temporally stable image observations. A fully automatic initialization strategy is used. Experimental results show that the proposed approach is a promising and fully automatic method for extracting roads from images, even in the presence of occlusions.展开更多

However, there remains a dearth of understanding regarding the complex molecular composition inherent to heavy oil. In this study, we employed high-resolution mass spectrometry in conjunction with various chemical derivatization and ionization methods to obtain semi-quantitative results of molecular group compositions of 35 heavy oils. The gradient boosting(GB) model has been further used to acquire the feature importance rank(FIR). A feature is an independently observable property of the observed object. Feature importance can measure the contribution of each input feature to the model prediction result, indicate the degree of correlation between the feature and the target, unveil which features are indicative of certain predictions. We have developed a framework for utilizing physical insights into the impact of molecular group compositions on viscosity. The results of machine learning(ML) conducted by GB show that the viscosity of heavy oils is primarily influenced by light components, specifically small molecular hydrocarbons with low condensation degrees, as well as petroleum acids composed of acidic oxygen groups and neutral nitrogen groups. Additionally, large molecular aromatic hydrocarbons and sulfoxides also play significant roles in determine the viscosity.展开更多

It is difficult for conventional pulse-echo modalities to give accurate ultrasound images for irregular bone boundaries and microstructures using uniform sound velocity assumption rather than getting a prior knowledge of sound speed. To overcome these limitations, this paper proposed a frequency-domain fullwaveform inversion(FDFWI) algorithm for bone quantitative imaging utilizing ultrasonic computed tomography(USCT).The forward model was calculated in the frequency domain by solving the full-wave equation. The inverse problem was solved iteratively from low to high discrete frequency components via minimizing a cost function between the modeled and measured data. A quasi-Newton method called the limited-memory Broyden–Fletcher–Goldfarb–Shanno algorithm(L-BFGS) was utilized in the optimization process. Then, bone images were obtained based on the estimation of the velocity and density. The performance of the proposed method was verified by numerical examples, from tubular bone phantom to single distal fibula model, and finally with a distal tibia-fibula pair model. Compared with the high-resolution peripheral quantitative computed tomography(HR-p QCT), the proposed FDFWI can also clearly and accurately presented the wavelength scaled pores and trabeculae in bone images. The results proved that the FDFWI is capable of reconstructing high-resolution ultrasound bone images with sub-millimeter resolution. The parametric bone images may have the potential for the diagnosis of bone disease.展开更多

Therefore, geophysicists consistently strive to acquire higher resolution seismic images in petroleum exploration. Although there have been successful applications of conventional signal processing and machine learning for post-stack seismic resolution enhancement, there is limited reference to the seismic applications of the recent emergence and rapid development of generative artificial intelligence. Hence, we propose to apply diffusion models, among the most popular generative models, to enhance seismic resolution. Specifically, we apply the classic diffusion model—denoising diffusion probabilistic model(DDPM), conditioned on the seismic data in low resolution, to reconstruct corresponding high-resolution images. Herein the entire scheme is referred to as SeisResoDiff. To provide a comprehensive and clear understanding of SeisResoDiff, we introduce the basic theories of diffusion models and detail the optimization objective's derivation with the aid of diagrams and algorithms. For implementation, we first propose a practical workflow to acquire abundant training data based on the generated pseudo-wells. Subsequently, we apply the trained model to both synthetic and field datasets, evaluating the results in three aspects: the appearance of seismic sections and slices in the time domain, frequency spectra, and comparisons with the synthetic data using real well-logging data at the well locations. The results demonstrate not only effective seismic resolution enhancement, but also additional denoising by the diffusion model. Experimental comparisons indicate that training the model on noisy data, which are more realistic, outperforms training on clean data. The proposed scheme demonstrates superiority over some conventional methods in high-resolution reconstruction and denoising ability, yielding more competitive results compared to our previous research.展开更多

High-resolution experimental data on the profiles of ion temperature and plasma rotation velocity facilitate the studies of the mechanisms underlining important physical phenomena, such as plasma heating, L-H transition and momentum transport. Based on silicon diode array and single-photon counting technology, a relatively small area (83.8 x 33.5 mm~) two-dimensional detector was successfully in- stalled and tested in the recent EAST campaign. X-ray photon counting rate higher than 20 MHz was observed for the first time, and high quality satellite spectra were recorded for ion temperature and plasma rotation measurement, indicating that the new technology is suitable for the next-step high-resolution XCS on EAST, and the deployment of a detector array with a much larger X-ray sensing area is planned for better plasma coverage.展开更多

The proposed scheme demonstrates superiority over some conventional methods in high-resolution reconstruction and denoising ability, yielding more competitive results compared to our previous research.
文摘For high resolution radar, the echoes of target come from several points rather than one point as in low resolution radar. In this case the target is called an extended target. This paper presents two CFAR detectors for such a target in non Gaussian clutter, which are CA CFAR and OS CFAR detectors. The detection performances of the two detectors are evaluated.

文摘Accurate information on the location and magnitude of vegetation change in scenic areas can guide the configuration of tourism facilities and the formulation of vegetation protection measures.High spatial resolution remote sensing images can be used to detect subtle vegetation changes. The major objective of this study was to map and quantify forest vegetation changes in a national scenic location, the Purple Mountains of Nanjing,China, using multi-temporal cross-sensor high spatial resolution satellite images to identify the main drivers of the vegetation changes and provide a reference for sustainable management. We used Quickbird images acquired in 2004,IKONOS images acquired in 2009,and WorldView2 images acquired in 2015.Four pixel-based direct change detection methods including the normalized difference vegetation index difference method,multi-index integrated change analysis(MIICA),principal component analysis, and spectral gradient difference analysis were compared in terms of their change detection performances.Subsequently, the best pixel-based detection method in conjunction with object-oriented image analysis was used to extract subtle forest vegetation changes. An accuracy assessment using the stratified random sampling points was conducted to evaluate the performance of the change detection results. The results showed that the MIICA method was the best pixel-based change detection method. And the object-oriented MIICA with an overall accuracy of 0.907 and a kappa coefficient of 0.846 was superior to the pixel-based MIICA.From 2004 to 2009,areas of vegetation gain mainly occurred around the periphery of the study area, while areas of vegetation loss were observed in the interior and along the boundary of the study area due to construction activities, which contributed to 79%of the total area of vegetation loss.During 2009–2015,the greening initiatives around the construction areas increased the forest vegetation coverage, accounting for 84%of the total area of vegetation gain.In spite of this, vegetation loss occurred in the interior of the Purple Mountains due to infrastructure development that caused conversion from vegetation to impervious areas. We recommend that:(1)a local multi-agency team inspect and assess law enforcement regarding natural resource utilization;and(2)strengthen environmental awareness education.
文摘By generating a high accuracy and high resolution geological model in Liuchu oil field, the technique of geological modeling is expanded and involved in primary geological study, making the sand bodies and reservoir be easily described in detail. The 3D visualization and 3D interactive editing of geological structure model are the key for modeling procedure. And a high accuracy and resolution geological model has been well applied in optimizing the production scheme.
文摘On the basis of modeling of multiple targets and radar returning signals, a new method for radar range superresolution is introduced in this paper. This method tums the resolution of multiple closely spaced targets into an identification of the target impulse response functions. The least-square (LS) method is then used to estimate impulse resoonse functions of the targets. The concept of radar range resolution probability is also introduced. It is shown from the simulation results that the new superresolution method is much efficient, and has advantages such as having a simple structure, as well as high resolution.

文摘An attempt was made to improve the spatio-temporal resolution of the tangen- tial X-ray crystal spectrometer (XCS) on the Experimental Advanced Superconducting Tokamak (EAST) by evaluating experimentally the applicability of a novel X-ray photon detection tech- nology for measuring the satellite spectra of Ar XVII with a high counting rate. X-ray photon counting rate higher than 20 MHz was observed for the first time, and high quality satellite spectra were recorded for ion temperature and plasma rotation measurement, indicating that the new technology is suitable for the next-step high-resolution XCS on EAST, and the deployment of a detector array with a much larger X-ray sensing area is planned for better plasma coverage.
