Experimental and numerical study on external explosions of cylindrical versus spherical charges at tunnel entrance

Most of the existing studies on tunnel blast wave are based on spherical or grouped charges, however,conventional weapons are mostly cylindrical rather than spherical. In order to analyze the impact of cylindrical charges on the tunnel blast wave loads and to develop a quantitative calculation method, this study carried out experimental and numerical research. Initially, external explosion experiments were conducted using both 35 kg spherical charges and cylindrical charges with aspect ratio of 4.8 at two different distances from the tunnel entrance. Comparative analysis of the blast wave parameters in the tunnel revealed that the explosive equivalent of the cylindrical charges was significantly higher than that of the spherical charges. To address this, an equivalent coefficient κ based on the spherical charges was proposed for the cylindrical charges. Subsequently, numerical simulations were conducted for the experimental conditions, and the numerical simulation results match the experiments well. Through numerical calculations, the reliability of the equivalent coefficient κ under the experimental conditions was verified, and comparison analysis indicated that the explosion energy of cylindrical charges spreads more radially, resulting in more explosion energy entering the tunnel, which is the fundamental reason for the increase in tunnel blast wave loads. Additionally, analyzing the explosion energy ratio entering the tunnel is an effective method for calculating the equivalent coefficient κ. Finally, through more than one hundred sets of numerical calculation results, the impact of the proportional distance λ and the ratio of charge mass to the tunnel cross-section dimension φ on the equivalence coefficients κ was investigated. An empirical formula for the equivalence coefficient κ was derived through fitting, and the accuracy of the formula was validated through literature experimental results. The research findings of this paper will provide valuable guidance for the calculation of blast wave loads in tunnel. 展开更多

Sloshing experiment is crucial to determine the reaction performance of regeneration columns on an offshore floating platform.A novel type of column motion simulating device and a Marine Predator Algorithm-based Sliding Mode Controller(MPA-SMC)are proposed for such sloshing experiments.The simulator consists of a Stewart platform and a steel framework.The Stewart platform is located at the column's center of gravity(CoG)and supported by the steel framework.The platform's hydraulic servo system is controlled by a sliding mode controller with parameters optimized by MPA to improve robustness and precision.A numerical sloshing experiment is conducted using the proposed device and controller.The results show that the novel motion simulator has lower torque during the column sloshes,and the proposed controller performs better than a well-tuned PID controller in terms of target tracking precision and anti-interference capability. 展开更多

A mobile robot developed by Wuhan University for full-path hotline inspection on 220 kV transmission lines was presented. With 4 rotating joints and 2 translational ones, such robot is capable of traveling along non- obstaclestraight-line segment and surmounting straight-line segment obstacles as well as transferring between two spans automatically. Lagrange’s equations were utilized to derive dynamic equations of all the links, including items of inertia, coupling inertia, Coriolis acceleration, centripetal acceleration and gravity. And a dynamic response experiment on elemental motions of robot prototype’s travelling along non-obstacle straight-line segment and surmounting obstacles was performed on 220 kV 1∶1 simulative overhanging transmission-line in laboratory. In addition, dynamic numerical simulation was conducted in the corresponding condition. Comparison and analysis on results of experiment and numerical simulation have validated theoretical model and simulation resolution. Vegetation plays a key role in improving wind environment of residential districts,and is helpful for creating a comfortable and beautiful living environment.The optimal design of vegetation for wind environment improvement in winter was investigated by carrying out field experiments in Heqingyuan residential area in Beijing,and after that,numerical simulation with SPOTE(simulation platform for outdoor thermal environment) experiments for outdoor thermal environment of vegetation was adopted for comparison.The conclusions were summarized as follows:1) By comparing the experimental data with simulation results,it could be concluded that the wind field simulated was consistent with the actual wind field,and the flow distribution impacted by vegetation could be accurately reflected;2) The wind velocity with vegetation was lower than that without vegetation,and the wind velocity was reduced by 46%;3) By adjusting arrangement and types of vegetation in the regions with excessively large wind velocity,the pedestrian-level wind velocity could be obviously improved through the simulation and comparison. 展开更多

In the process of thin-wall parts assembly for an antenna,the parts assembly deformation deviation is occurring due to the riveting assembly.In view of the riveting assembly deformation problems,it can be analyzed through transient and static simulation.In this work,the theoretical deformation model for riveting assembly is established with round head rivet.The simulation analysis for riveting deformation is carried out with the riveting assembly piece including four rivets,which comparing with the measuring points experiment results of riveting test piece through dealing with the experimental data using the point coordinate transform method and the space line fitting method.Simultaneously,the deformation deviation of the overall thin-wall parts assembly structure is analyzed through finite element simulation;and its results are verified by the measuring experiment for riveting assembly with the deformation deviation of some key points on the thin-wall parts.Through the comparison analysis,it is shown that the simulation results agree well with the experimental results,which proves the correctness and effectiveness of the theoretical analysis,simulation results and the given experiment data processing method.Through the study on the riveting assembly for thin-wall parts,it will provide a theoretical foundation for improving thin-wall parts assembly quality of large antenna in future. 展开更多

In order to research spread law and distribution law of temperature nearby fire sources on roadway in mine, according to combustion theory and other basic, the theory model of temperature attenuation was determined under unsteady heat-exchange between wind and roadway wall. The full-size roadway fire simulation experiments were carried out in Chongqing Research Institute of China Coal Technology & Engineering Group Corporation. The development processes of mine fire and flow pattern of high temperature gas were analyzed. Experimental roadway is seen as physical model, and through using CFD software, the processes of mine fire have been simulated on computer. The results show that, after fire occurs, if the wind speed is less than the minimum speed which can prevent smoke from rolling back, then the smaller wind speed can cause smoke to roll back easily. Hot plume will lead to secondary disasters in upwind side. Because of roadway wall, hot plume released from roadway fire zone has caused the occurrence of the ceiling jet, and the hot plume has been forced down. Whereas, owing to the higher temperature, buoyancy effect is more obvious. Therefore, smoke rises gradually along the roadway in the flow process, and the hierarchical interface appears wavy.Oxygen-enriched combustion and fuel-enriched combustion are the two kinds of combustion states of fire. The oxygen content of downwind side of fire is maintained at around 15% for oxygen-enriched combustion, and the oxygen content of downwind side of fire is maintained at around 2% for fuel-enriched combustion. Furthermore, fuel-enriched combustion can lead to secondary disasters easily. 展开更多

The Ailaoshan aquamarine-bearing pegmatites are associated with Proterozoic metamorphic rocks in the southern portion of the Ailaoshan fault-folded complex.The gem-bearing pegmatite mineralization zones of the region occur in areas generally consistent with the regional tectonic trend.The pegmatites are found in metamorphic rocks,migmatites and in the inner/outer contact zones of gneissoid granites. The Rb-Sr isochron drawn for the pegmatites is 26~31 Ma,(i.e.in Himalayan).The homogenization temperatures of melt and liquid inclusions in minerals vary from 185 to 920℃,which are comparable to the inclusions observed in banded migmatites and ptygmatic quartz veins in the surrounding metamorphic rocks. The mineralization fluids of the pegmatite were rich in HCO_3 and CO_2,and their compositional assemblages are comparable to metamorphic fluids.Results of H,O,C,Si etc.isotopic analyses and REE,and Be analyses indicates that the sources of mineralization components that formed the pegmatites are closely associated with metamorphic fluids and the enclosing metamorphic rocks. A pegmatite structure simulation experiment was conducted at high temperature and pressure(840℃and 1,500×105Pa.),with various metamorphic rock samples in a water-rich and volatile-rich environment.When the liquidus was reached,the temperature was gradually decreased at the rate of 5~10℃/day over a time period of three months.SEM energy-dispersive spectrum analyses were performed on the experimental products.A series of pegmatoid textures were observed including zonal texture,megacryst texture,drusy cavities,crystal druses,and vesicular texture along with more than ten types of minerals including plagioclase,microcline,quartz and biotite.Different metamorphic rock melts generated different mineral assemblages.Experiment results revealed that the partial melting of metamorphic rocks could form melts similar to pegmatite magmas. Based upon the geological characteristics,geochemistry,and pegmatite texture simulation experimental results,it is concluded that the mineralization components of Ailaoshan aquamarine-bearing pegmatites came from metamorphic rocks.The petrogenetic model for the origin of pegmatites is related to ultrametamorphism and metamorphic anatexis. 展开更多

The bearing worktable poses were controlled by coupling oilfilm thickness of four controllable chambers. The chamber flow can be regulated by electro hydraulic servo valve-control variable pump according to the surface roughness, load, cutting force, and thermal effects of worktable. The mathematical models of the controllable chamber flow, servo variable mechanism and controller were built. The pose control model was established, which contained the kinematics positive and negative solution and control strategy of feedforward and hydraulic cylinder position feedback. Hardware-in-loop simulation experiment was carried out on the electro hydraulic servo test bench by means of the non-linear relation of film thickness and hydraulic cylinder displacement. Hardware-in-loop simulation experiment results show that the controllable bearings exhibit high oilfilm rigidity, the rising time is 0.24 s and the maximum overshoot is 2.23%, and can be applied in high precision heavy machine tool. 展开更多

During the compaction of a road subgrade, the mechanical parameters of the soil mass change in real time, but current research assumes that these parameters remain unchanged. In order to address this discrepancy, this paper establishes a relationship between the degree of compaction K and strain ε. The relationship between the compaction degree K and the shear strength of soil(cohesion c and frictional angle φ) was clearly established through indoor experiments. The subroutine UMAT in ABAQUS finite element numerical software was developed to realize an accurate calculation of the subgrade soil compaction quality. This value was compared and analyzed against the assumed compaction value of the model, thereby verifying the accuracy of the intelligent compaction calculation results for subgrade soil. On this basis, orthogonal tests of the influential factors(frequency, amplitude, and quality) for the degree of compaction and sensitivity analysis were carried out. Finally, the ‘acceleration intelligent compaction value’, which is based on the acceleration signal, is proposed for a compaction meter value that indicates poor accuracy. The research results can provide guidance and basis for further research into the accurate control of compaction quality for roadbeds and pavements. 展开更多

This paper reviews the current status of investigation on snow accumulation on the bogies of high-speed trains(HSTs) running in snowy region. First, the background of the snow issue occurring to the HST and the contra-measures for the snow issue proposed in the past decades are provided by reviewing previous studies. Next, the methodology for investigating the snow issue developed by High-Speed Train Research Center of Central South University is introduced, including the numerical simulation research platform and the experimental devices for two-phase flow wind tunnel tests. Then, effective anti-snow flow control schemes for guiding the underbody airflow and their impact on the motion and accretion of snow in the installation region of the bogies are presented. Finally, the remaining investigating challenge for the snow issue of HST and the future research with respect to the challenge are provided from an engineering application viewpoint. 展开更多

In order to acquire the flow pattern and investigate the settling behavior of the red mud in the separation thickener,computational fluid dynamics(CFD),custom subroutines and agglomerates settling theory were employed to simulate the three-dimensional flow field in an industrial scale thickener with the introduction of a self-dilute feed system.The simulation results show good agreement with the measurement onsite and the flow patterns of the thickener are presented and discussed on both velocity and concentration field.Optimization experiments on feed well and self-dilute system were also carried out,and indicate that the optimal thickener system can dilute the solid concentration in feed well from 110 g/L to 86 g/L which would help the agglomerates' formation and improve the red mud settling speed.Furthermore,the additional power of recirculation pump can be saved and flocculants dosage was reduced from 105g/t to 85g/t in the operation. 展开更多

Generally,the flow of a lightning impulse current from a grounding electrode into ground is a very complicated process determined by many factors.In order to analyze the mechanism of the impulse current dissipating in the earth from grounding electrode,the experiments that had been carried out by other authors almost used a single horizontal grounding wire or vertical grounding rod for sake of simplicity.However,in practical conditions,most of the grounding systems are constructed of grounding electrodes with branches in different directions.In this study,basing on the principle of dimensional similarity,impulse simulation experiments are performed on the common ground electrodes with conductor branches.This paper focuses on analyzing the impulse current dispersal regularity of different branches when injecting at one point.Comparing with the leakage current distribution of a single ground electrode,it is found that the leakage currents along the branches increase with the distance to the current feed point,and the more conductors near the injection point,the more uneven the leakage current distribution is.This work indicates that shielding effect should be taken into account when analyzing the impulse characteristics of grounding electrodes. 展开更多

Analysis of disagreement between numerically predicted and experimental heat transfer data of impinging jet

The method of numerical simulation was applied to investigate the effects of jet impinging plate thickness and its thermal conductivity on the local heat flux distribution along the impinging plate. The results show that the two factors have great effects on the heat flux distribution. The non-uniformity of the local heat-flux on the impinging plate surface gets more profound as the plate becomes thicker and thermal conductivity gets larger. When Reynolds number is 5000, the ratio of nozzle-to-plate spacing to nozzle diameter is 5 and thermal conductivity is 16W/(m·K), and even for the plate with only 25μm in thickness, the non-uniformity of the heat flux cannot be neglected. When the plate thickness is 50 μm, only when thermal conductivity is as small as 1W/(m·K), the heat flux curve can be approximately treated as an iso-heat-flux boundary. In the experimental research, a real non-iso-heat-flux boundary is treated as an iso-heat-flux boundary, which would result in under-estimated Nusselt number value in the stagnation zone and an over-estimated value outside. Such an experimental Nusselt number distribution is taken to evaluate turbulent model, and the conclusion would be drawn that the turbulent model over-predicts the stagnation heat transfer. This is one of the important reasons why many literatures reported that k-ε turbulent model dramatically over-predicts the impinging jet heat transfer in the stagnation region. 展开更多

受场地、操作环境等极端条件制约,复杂工程性创新实验难于线下开展,导致学生对化工专业前沿技术认知缺失,工程实践能力训练短缺。针对此问题,在化工专业实验中开展以实为主、以虚为辅的混合教学模式的探索。虚拟实验可大大降低实验操作... 受场地、操作环境等极端条件制约,复杂工程性创新实验难于线下开展,导致学生对化工专业前沿技术认知缺失,工程实践能力训练短缺。针对此问题,在化工专业实验中开展以实为主、以虚为辅的混合教学模式的探索。虚拟实验可大大降低实验操作风险,弥补实验时间和条件的不足,是化工专业实践教学改革和发展的有益探索。仿真实验中的理论学习、习题测验、流程设计、实验操作和报告处理的过程性评价制度涵盖了学生整体学习过程,综合反映学生对知识的掌握程度和综合实践的能力。在CO中温-低温串联催化转化仿真实验教学中,4项课程目标平均达成度分别为0.80、0.91、0.83和0.73,教学效果良好。实践证明,虚拟仿真实验能够从应用实际出发,通过新颖的实验内容设计,更能调动学生参与实验的积极性和主动性,是培养学生解决复杂工程问题能力的有效手段之一。 展开更多

随着我国建筑垃圾的逐渐增加,再生混凝土得到了广泛应用。大多研究从宏观和细观层面探究再生骨料质量对再生混凝土的影响规律,而对再生骨料本身细观结构和再生骨料对再生混凝土的影响机理的研究较少。为此,将宏观试验与细观模拟相结合,... 随着我国建筑垃圾的逐渐增加,再生混凝土得到了广泛应用。大多研究从宏观和细观层面探究再生骨料质量对再生混凝土的影响规律,而对再生骨料本身细观结构和再生骨料对再生混凝土的影响机理的研究较少。为此,将宏观试验与细观模拟相结合,首先制备不同再生骨料取代率和含水率的再生混凝土试件进行立方体抗压和轴心抗压试验;然后基于经典DP模型和EDP线性屈服模型建立再生混凝土仿真分析数值模型,对不同再生骨料取代率的再生混凝土进行立方体抗压和轴心抗压仿真计算,通过对比模拟值和试验值来验证结果的准确性;最后基于细观模型进行四因素三水平正交试验,并分别通过单指标分析法和多指标分析法研究影响再生混凝土抗压性能的主要因素。结果表明,再生混凝土的抗压性能随着骨料含水率增加呈先增后降的趋势,再生骨料含水率在5.0%-7.5%的范围内时,再生混凝土能展现出较好的力学性能。再生混凝土轴心抗压的模拟效果优于立方体抗压模拟效果。各影响因素对再生混凝土抗压性能影响的主次顺序依次为再生骨料取代率、旧水泥砂浆厚度、再生骨料最大粒径、再生骨料原生强度。研究结果能够为再生骨料生产制备过程的统一标准提供理论依据。 展开更多

为掌握厚煤层开采覆岩破断及裂隙演化规律,以高河能源E2306工作面为背景,搭建了三维物理相似模拟试验平台,采用分布式光纤感测技术、钻孔窥视监测等相结合的方法,明晰了覆岩破断来压规律与裂隙分布特征。结合薄板弯曲理论,建立采场覆岩... 为掌握厚煤层开采覆岩破断及裂隙演化规律,以高河能源E2306工作面为背景,搭建了三维物理相似模拟试验平台,采用分布式光纤感测技术、钻孔窥视监测等相结合的方法,明晰了覆岩破断来压规律与裂隙分布特征。结合薄板弯曲理论,建立采场覆岩结构力学模型,揭示了采动覆岩破断影响下覆岩裂隙诱发机制,推演了采动裂隙区域发育形态。结果表明:工作面回采完毕,总计来压7次,垮落带、裂隙带发育高度分别为39、71 m。与该工作面现场结果一致,与理论计算数值吻合,符合该矿实际情况。处于垮落带高度内低位近场覆岩呈“对扇形”竖向破断,以“走向悬臂梁−倾向砌体梁”结构破断运动为主,纵向破断裂隙大量发育,横向水平剪切交错裂隙伴生。覆岩自下而上逐渐破断,处于裂隙带高度内高位远场覆岩呈横向破断,以“走向砌体梁-倾向砌体梁”结构破断运动为主,横向水平张拉离层大量发育。采空区边界区域内覆岩裂隙数量随工作面推进呈先增加后稳定的变化规律,走向裂隙数量变化呈抛物线型;采空区中部区域内覆岩裂隙数量随工作面推进呈先增加后减少的变化规律,走向裂隙数量变化呈马鞍型。覆岩破断来压后采空区中部持续承载受压,两侧岩层遭剪切破坏形成剪切下凹区与承载下凹区,区域范围随不同层位覆岩弯曲破断而扩大。采动裂隙区域发育形态由椭圆抛物带演变为两端下凹的椭圆抛物带形态,最终呈现为两端及顶部下凹的椭圆抛物带形态。 展开更多

鄂尔多斯盆地延长组沉积了一套泥页岩及细粒砂质岩,具有丰富的页岩油资源,勘探开发评估资源量合计达十几亿吨。但页岩油储层可动性差、地层埋深浅,水平段层理、断缝、断层发育,裂缝扩展形态未知,体积压裂改造难度大。针对长7段井下储层... 鄂尔多斯盆地延长组沉积了一套泥页岩及细粒砂质岩,具有丰富的页岩油资源,勘探开发评估资源量合计达十几亿吨。但页岩油储层可动性差、地层埋深浅,水平段层理、断缝、断层发育,裂缝扩展形态未知,体积压裂改造难度大。针对长7段井下储层获取的全直径致密砂泥岩岩心和页岩岩心,利用水泥包裹岩心方法开展真三轴室内压裂物模实验,获取水力裂缝形态,揭示弱应力场下页岩油储层水力裂缝扩展机理。实验发现,页岩油储层层状结构较密集,岩石颗粒之间胶结性较弱,压裂液容易沿着层理渗滤,在垂向应力与最小水平主应力之差小于2 MPa时,水力裂缝形态多为水平缝,压裂液主要沿层理或水平的天然裂缝渗滤;垂向应力与最小水平主应力之差增加到7 MPa时,会出现垂向穿层缝,形成局部台阶,最后被弱胶结层理面捕获后,沿层理渗滤延展。因此,压裂施工时,优选垂向应力与最小水平主应力差值较大的区域进行施工(井口位于山顶),有利于水力裂缝垂向延展,增加储层的体积压裂效果,提高页岩油产量和增大经济效益。 展开更多
