Dynamic soaring,inspired by the wind-riding flight of birds such as albatrosses,is a biomimetic technique which leverages wind fields to enhance the endurance of unmanned aerial vehicles(UAVs).Achieving a precise soar...Dynamic soaring,inspired by the wind-riding flight of birds such as albatrosses,is a biomimetic technique which leverages wind fields to enhance the endurance of unmanned aerial vehicles(UAVs).Achieving a precise soaring trajectory is crucial for maximizing energy efficiency during flight.Existing nonlinear programming methods are heavily dependent on the choice of initial values which is hard to determine.Therefore,this paper introduces a deep reinforcement learning method based on a differentially flat model for dynamic soaring trajectory planning and optimization.Initially,the gliding trajectory is parameterized using Fourier basis functions,achieving a flexible trajectory representation with a minimal number of hyperparameters.Subsequently,the trajectory optimization problem is formulated as a dynamic interactive process of Markov decision-making.The hyperparameters of the trajectory are optimized using the Proximal Policy Optimization(PPO2)algorithm from deep reinforcement learning(DRL),reducing the strong reliance on initial value settings in the optimization process.Finally,a comparison between the proposed method and the nonlinear programming method reveals that the trajectory generated by the proposed approach is smoother while meeting the same performance requirements.Specifically,the proposed method achieves a 34%reduction in maximum thrust,a 39.4%decrease in maximum thrust difference,and a 33%reduction in maximum airspeed difference.展开更多
Trans-medium flight vehicles can combine high aerial maneuverability and underwater concealment ability,which have attracted much attention recently.As the most crucial procedure,the trajectory design generally determ...Trans-medium flight vehicles can combine high aerial maneuverability and underwater concealment ability,which have attracted much attention recently.As the most crucial procedure,the trajectory design generally determines the trans-medium flight vehicle performance.To quantitatively analyze the flight vehicle performance,an entire aerial-aquatic trajectory model is developed in this paper.Different from modeling a trajectory purely for the water entry process,the constructed entire trajectory model has integrated aerial,water entry,and underwater trajectories together,which can consider the influence of the connected trajectories.As for the aerial and underwater trajectories,explicit dynamic models are established to obtain the trajectory parameters.Due to the complicated fluid force during high-velocity water entry,a computational fluid dynamics model is investigated to analyze this phase.The compu-tational domain size is adaptively refined according to the final aerial trajectory state,where the redundant computational domain is removed.An entire trajectory optimization problem is then formulated to maximize the total flight range via tuning the joint states of different trajectories.Simultaneously,several constraints,i.e.,the max impact load,trajectory height,etc.,are involved in the optimization problem.Rather than directly optimizing by a heuristic algorithm,a multi-surrogate cooperative sampling-based optimization method is proposed to alleviate the computational complexity of the entire trajectory optimization problem.In this method,various surrogates coopera-tively generate infill sample points,thereby preventing the poor approximation.After optimization,the total flight range can be improved by 20%,while all the constraints are satisfied.The result demonstrates the effectiveness and practicability of the developed model and optimization framework.展开更多

Second, for each SNCOP, inspired by the idea of multiobjective optimization, it is transformed into a static bi-objective optimization problem. As a result, the original DNCOP is approximately transformed into several static bi-objective optimization problems. Third, a new multiobjective evolutionary algorithm is proposed based on a new selection operator and an improved nonuniformity mutation operator. In Alopex-DE, each original individua...To solve dynamic optimization problem of chemical process (CPDOP), a hybrid differential evolution algorithm, which is integrated with Alopex and named as Alopex-DE, was proposed. In Alopex-DE, each original individual has its own symbiotic individual, which consists of control parameters. Differential evolution operator is applied for the original individuals to search the global optimization solution. Alopex algorithm is used to co-evolve the symbiotic individuals during the original individual evolution and enhance the fitness of the original individuals. Thus, control parameters are self-adaptively adjusted by Alopex to obtain the real-time optimum values for the original population. To illustrate the whole performance of Alopex-DE, several varietal DEs were applied to optimize 13 benchmark functions. The results show that the whole performance of Alopex-DE is the best. Further, Alopex-DE was applied to solve 4 typical CPDOPs, and the effect of the discrete time degree on the optimization solution was analyzed. The satisfactory result is obtained.展开更多

That is, cutoff grade selection must be dynamic with respect to both time and space. A newly developed method that fulfills these requirements is presented. In this method, the deposit or a portion of it under study is divided into "decision units" based on the mining method and sample data. The statistical grade distribution and the grade-tonnage relationship of each decision unit are then computed based on the samples falling in the unit. Each decision unit with its grade-tonnage relationship is considered as a stage in a dynamic programming scheme and the problem is solved by applying a forward dynamic programming based algorithm with an objective function of maximizing the overall net present value (NPV). A software package is developed for the method and applied to an underground copper mine in Africa.展开更多

Considering the situation that equipment health state is not completely observable in reality, a DSTS optimization method based on partially observable semi-Markov decision pro- cess (POSMDP) is proposed. Firstly, an equipment health state degradation model is constructed by Markov process, and the control limit maintenance policy is also introduced. Secondly, POSMDP is formulated in great detail. And then, POSMDP is converted to completely observable belief semi-Markov decision process (BSMDP) through belief state. The optimal equation and the corresponding optimal DSTS, which minimize the long-run ex- pected average cost per unit time, are obtained with BSMDP. The results of application in complex equipment show that the proposed DSTS is feasible and effective.展开更多

In DEHS, two control parameters, i.e., harmony memory considering rate and pitch adjusting rate, are encoded as a symbiotic individual of an original individual(i.e., harmony vector). Harmony search operators are applied to evolving the original population. DE is applied to co-evolving the symbiotic population based on feedback information from the original population. Thus, with the evolution of the original population in DEHS, the symbiotic population is dynamically and self-adaptively adjusted, and real-time optimum control parameters are obtained. The proposed DEHS algorithm has been applied to various benchmark functions and two typical dynamic optimization problems. The experimental results show that the performance of the proposed algorithm is better than that of other HS variants. Satisfactory results are obtained in the application.展开更多

M...An effective maintenance policy optimization model can reduce maintenance cost and system operation risk. For mission-oriented systems, the degradation process changes dynamically and is monotonous and irreversible. Meanwhile, the risk of early failure is high. Therefore, this paper proposes a dynamic condition-based maintenance(CBM) optimization model for mission-oriented system based on inverse Gaussian(IG) degradation process. Firstly, the IG process with random drift coefficient is used to describe the degradation process and the relevant probability distributions are obtained. Secondly, the dynamic preventive maintenance threshold(DPMT) function is used to control the early failure risk of the mission-oriented system, and the influence of imperfect preventive maintenance(PM)on the degradation amount and degradation rate is analysed comprehensively. Thirdly, according to the mission availability requirement, the probability formulas of different types of renewal policies are obtained, and the CBM optimization model is constructed. Finally, a numerical example is presented to verify the proposed model. The comparison with the fixed PM threshold model and the sensitivity analysis show the effectiveness and application value of the optimization model.展开更多
A novel immune algorithm suitable for dynamic environments (AIDE) was proposed based on a biological immune response principle.The dynamic process of artificial immune response with operators such as immune cloning,mu...A novel immune algorithm suitable for dynamic environments (AIDE) was proposed based on a biological immune response principle.The dynamic process of artificial immune response with operators such as immune cloning,multi-scale variation and gradient-based diversity was modeled.Because the immune cloning operator was derived from a stimulation and suppression effect between antibodies and antigens,a sigmoid model that can clearly describe clonal proliferation was proposed.In addition,with the introduction of multiple populations and multi-scale variation,the algorithm can well maintain the population diversity during the dynamic searching process.Unlike traditional artificial immune algorithms,which require randomly generated cells added to the current population to explore its fitness landscape,AIDE uses a gradient-based diversity operator to speed up the optimization in the dynamic environments.Several reported algorithms were compared with AIDE by using Moving Peaks Benchmarks.Preliminary experiments show that AIDE can maintain high population diversity during the search process,simultaneously can speed up the optimization.Thus,AIDE is useful for the optimization of dynamic environments.展开更多
For most firms,especially the small-and medium-sized ones,the operational decisions are affected by their internal capital and ability to obtain external capital.However,the majority of the current studies on dynamic ...For most firms,especially the small-and medium-sized ones,the operational decisions are affected by their internal capital and ability to obtain external capital.However,the majority of the current studies on dynamic inventory control ignore the firm’s financial status and financing issues completely.An important question that arises is:what are the dynamic optimal inventory and financing policies for firms with limited capital and limited access to external capital?In this paper,we review some of the latest developments in this area.After a brief review of single period models,we focus on multi-period dynamic control of the firm who aims to optimize its xpected terminal wealth.Two cases are discussed in detail:self-finance and short term finance.In the first case,the firm has to rely on its own capital for all ordering decisions,while in the second,the firm can borrow short term loan from lenders.A detailed characterization of the optimal policy is presented and its managerial insights are discussed.Several possible extensions are suggested.展开更多

In response to the micromechanical defects s...Metal Additive Manufacturing(MAM) technology has become an important means of rapid prototyping precision manufacturing of special high dynamic heterogeneous complex parts. In response to the micromechanical defects such as porosity issues, significant deformation, surface cracks, and challenging control of surface morphology encountered during the selective laser melting(SLM) additive manufacturing(AM) process of specialized Micro Electromechanical System(MEMS) components, multiparameter optimization and micro powder melt pool/macro-scale mechanical properties control simulation of specialized components are conducted. The optimal parameters obtained through highprecision preparation and machining of components and static/high dynamic verification are: laser power of 110 W, laser speed of 600 mm/s, laser diameter of 75 μm, and scanning spacing of 50 μm. The density of the subordinate components under this reference can reach 99.15%, the surface hardness can reach 51.9 HRA, the yield strength can reach 550 MPa, the maximum machining error of the components is 4.73%, and the average surface roughness is 0.45 μm. Through dynamic hammering and high dynamic firing verification, SLM components meet the requirements for overload resistance. The results have proven that MEM technology can provide a new means for the processing of MEMS components applied in high dynamic environments. The parameters obtained in the conclusion can provide a design basis for the additive preparation of MEMS components.展开更多

A design and optimization approach of dynamic and control performance for a two-DOF planar manipulator was proposed.After the kinematic and dynamic analysis,several advantages of the mechanism were illustrated,which m...A design and optimization approach of dynamic and control performance for a two-DOF planar manipulator was proposed.After the kinematic and dynamic analysis,several advantages of the mechanism were illustrated,which made it possible to obtain good dynamic and control performances just through mechanism optimization.Based on the idea of design for control(DFC),a novel kind of multi-objective optimization model was proposed.There were three optimization objectives:the index of inertia,the index describing the dynamic coupling effects and the global condition number.Other indexes to characterize the designing requirements such as the velocity of end-effector,the workspace size,and the first mode natural frequency were regarded as the constraints.The cross-section area and length of the linkages were chosen as the design variables.NSGA-II algorithm was introduced to solve this complex multi-objective optimization problem.Additional criteria from engineering experience were incorporated into the selecting of final parameters among the obtained Pareto solution sets.Finally,experiments were performed to validate the linear dynamic structure and control performances of the optimized mechanisms.A new expression for measuring the dynamic coupling degree with clear physical meaning was proposed.The results show that the optimized mechanism has an approximate decoupled dynamics structure,and each active joint can be regarded as a linear SISO system.The control performances of the linear and nonlinear controllers were also compared.It can be concluded that the optimized mechanism can achieve good control performance only using a linear controller.展开更多

Differential evolution operator is applied for the original individuals to search the global optimization solution. Alopex algorithm is used to co-evolve the symbiotic individuals during the original individual evolution and enhance the fitness of the original individuals. Thus, control parameters are self-adaptively adjusted by Alopex to obtain the real-time optimum values for the original population. To illustrate the whole performance of Alopex-DE, several varietal DEs were applied to optimize 13 benchmark functions. The results show that the whole performance of Alopex-DE is the best. Further, Alopex-DE was applied to solve 4 typical CPDOPs, and the effect of the discrete time degree on the optimization solution was analyzed. The satisfactory result is obtained.
文摘Cooperative path planning is an important area in fixed-wing UAV swarm.However,avoiding multiple timevarying obstacles and avoiding local optimum are two challenges for existing approaches in a dynamic environment.Firstly,a normalized artificial potential field optimization is proposed by reconstructing a novel function with anisotropy in each dimension,which can make the flight speed of a fixed UAV swarm independent of the repulsive/attractive gain coefficient and avoid trapping into local optimization and local oscillation.Then,taking into account minimum velocity and turning angular velocity of fixed-wing UAV swarm,a strategy of decomposing target vector to avoid moving obstacles and pop-up threats is proposed.Finally,several simulations are carried out to illustrate superiority and effectiveness.

文摘In order to maximize the overall economic gain from a metal mine operation, selection of cutoff grades must consider two important aspects: the time value of money and the spatial variation of the grade distribution in the deposit. That is, cutoff grade selection must be dynamic with respect to both time and space. A newly developed method that fulfills these requirements is presented. In this method, the deposit or a portion of it under study is divided into "decision units" based on the mining method and sample data. The statistical grade distribution and the grade-tonnage relationship of each decision unit are then computed based on the samples falling in the unit. Each decision unit with its grade-tonnage relationship is considered as a stage in a dynamic programming scheme and the problem is solved by applying a forward dynamic programming based algorithm with an objective function of maximizing the overall net present value (NPV). A software package is developed for the method and applied to an underground copper mine in Africa.

文摘Testing is the premise and foundation of realizing equipment health management (EHM). To address the problem that the static periodic test strategy may cause deficient test or excessive test, a dynamic sequential test strategy (DSTS) for EHM is presented. Considering the situation that equipment health state is not completely observable in reality, a DSTS optimization method based on partially observable semi-Markov decision pro- cess (POSMDP) is proposed. Firstly, an equipment health state degradation model is constructed by Markov process, and the control limit maintenance policy is also introduced. Secondly, POSMDP is formulated in great detail. And then, POSMDP is converted to completely observable belief semi-Markov decision process (BSMDP) through belief state. The optimal equation and the corresponding optimal DSTS, which minimize the long-run ex- pected average cost per unit time, are obtained with BSMDP. The results of application in complex equipment show that the proposed DSTS is feasible and effective.

文摘In this paper a class of real-time parallel modified Rosenbrock methods of numerical simulation is constructed for stiff dynamic systems on a multiprocessor system, and convergence and numerical stability of these methods are discussed. A-stable real-time parallel formula of two-stage third-order and A(α)-stable real-time parallel formula with o ≈ 89.96° of three-stage fourth-order are particularly given. The numerical simulation experiments in parallel environment show that the class of algorithms is efficient and applicable, with greater speedup.

文摘A modified harmony search algorithm with co-evolutional control parameters(DEHS), applied through differential evolution optimization, is proposed. In DEHS, two control parameters, i.e., harmony memory considering rate and pitch adjusting rate, are encoded as a symbiotic individual of an original individual(i.e., harmony vector). Harmony search operators are applied to evolving the original population. DE is applied to co-evolving the symbiotic population based on feedback information from the original population. Thus, with the evolution of the original population in DEHS, the symbiotic population is dynamically and self-adaptively adjusted, and real-time optimum control parameters are obtained. The proposed DEHS algorithm has been applied to various benchmark functions and two typical dynamic optimization problems. The experimental results show that the performance of the proposed algorithm is better than that of other HS variants. Satisfactory results are obtained in the application.

文摘An effective maintenance policy optimization model can reduce maintenance cost and system operation risk. For mission-oriented systems, the degradation process changes dynamically and is monotonous and irreversible. Meanwhile, the risk of early failure is high. Therefore, this paper proposes a dynamic condition-based maintenance(CBM) optimization model for mission-oriented system based on inverse Gaussian(IG) degradation process. Firstly, the IG process with random drift coefficient is used to describe the degradation process and the relevant probability distributions are obtained. Secondly, the dynamic preventive maintenance threshold(DPMT) function is used to control the early failure risk of the mission-oriented system, and the influence of imperfect preventive maintenance(PM)on the degradation amount and degradation rate is analysed comprehensively. Thirdly, according to the mission availability requirement, the probability formulas of different types of renewal policies are obtained, and the CBM optimization model is constructed. Finally, a numerical example is presented to verify the proposed model. The comparison with the fixed PM threshold model and the sensitivity analysis show the effectiveness and application value of the optimization model.

文摘A novel immune algorithm suitable for dynamic environments (AIDE) was proposed based on a biological immune response principle.The dynamic process of artificial immune response with operators such as immune cloning,multi-scale variation and gradient-based diversity was modeled.Because the immune cloning operator was derived from a stimulation and suppression effect between antibodies and antigens,a sigmoid model that can clearly describe clonal proliferation was proposed.In addition,with the introduction of multiple populations and multi-scale variation,the algorithm can well maintain the population diversity during the dynamic searching process.Unlike traditional artificial immune algorithms,which require randomly generated cells added to the current population to explore its fitness landscape,AIDE uses a gradient-based diversity operator to speed up the optimization in the dynamic environments.Several reported algorithms were compared with AIDE by using Moving Peaks Benchmarks.Preliminary experiments show that AIDE can maintain high population diversity during the search process,simultaneously can speed up the optimization.Thus,AIDE is useful for the optimization of dynamic environments.

文摘For most firms,especially the small-and medium-sized ones,the operational decisions are affected by their internal capital and ability to obtain external capital.However,the majority of the current studies on dynamic inventory control ignore the firm’s financial status and financing issues completely.An important question that arises is:what are the dynamic optimal inventory and financing policies for firms with limited capital and limited access to external capital?In this paper,we review some of the latest developments in this area.After a brief review of single period models,we focus on multi-period dynamic control of the firm who aims to optimize its xpected terminal wealth.Two cases are discussed in detail:self-finance and short term finance.In the first case,the firm has to rely on its own capital for all ordering decisions,while in the second,the firm can borrow short term loan from lenders.A detailed characterization of the optimal policy is presented and its managerial insights are discussed.Several possible extensions are suggested.

文摘Metal Additive Manufacturing(MAM) technology has become an important means of rapid prototyping precision manufacturing of special high dynamic heterogeneous complex parts. In response to the micromechanical defects such as porosity issues, significant deformation, surface cracks, and challenging control of surface morphology encountered during the selective laser melting(SLM) additive manufacturing(AM) process of specialized Micro Electromechanical System(MEMS) components, multiparameter optimization and micro powder melt pool/macro-scale mechanical properties control simulation of specialized components are conducted. The optimal parameters obtained through highprecision preparation and machining of components and static/high dynamic verification are: laser power of 110 W, laser speed of 600 mm/s, laser diameter of 75 μm, and scanning spacing of 50 μm. The density of the subordinate components under this reference can reach 99.15%, the surface hardness can reach 51.9 HRA, the yield strength can reach 550 MPa, the maximum machining error of the components is 4.73%, and the average surface roughness is 0.45 μm. Through dynamic hammering and high dynamic firing verification, SLM components meet the requirements for overload resistance. The results have proven that MEM technology can provide a new means for the processing of MEMS components applied in high dynamic environments. The parameters obtained in the conclusion can provide a design basis for the additive preparation of MEMS components.

文摘Passive bionic feet,known for their human-like compliance,have garnered attention for their potential to achieve notable environmental adaptability.In this paper,a method was proposed to unifying passive bionic feet static supporting stability and dynamic terrain adaptability through the utilization of the Rigid-Elastic Hybrid(REH)dynamics model.First,a bionic foot model,named the Hinge Tension Elastic Complex(HTEC)model,was developed by extracting key features from human feet.Furthermore,the kinematics and REH dynamics of the HTEC model were established.Based on the foot dynamics,a nonlinear optimization method for stiffness matching(NOSM)was designed.Finally,the HTEC-based foot was constructed and applied onto BHR-B2 humanoid robot.The foot static stability is achieved.The enhanced adaptability is observed as the robot traverses square steel,lawn,and cobblestone terrains.Through proposed design method and structure,the mobility of the humanoid robot is improved.
文摘Improving the firing accuracy is a final goal of structural optimization of machine guns. The main factors which affect the dispersion accuracy of machine gun are analyzed. Based on the concept of dynamic stability, a structural optimization model is built up, and the sensitivity of dispersion accuracy to design variables is analyzed. The optimization results of a type of machine gun show that the method is valid, feasible, and can be used as a guide to the structural optimization of other automatic weapons.

文摘A design and optimization approach of dynamic and control performance for a two-DOF planar manipulator was proposed.After the kinematic and dynamic analysis,several advantages of the mechanism were illustrated,which made it possible to obtain good dynamic and control performances just through mechanism optimization.Based on the idea of design for control(DFC),a novel kind of multi-objective optimization model was proposed.There were three optimization objectives:the index of inertia,the index describing the dynamic coupling effects and the global condition number.Other indexes to characterize the designing requirements such as the velocity of end-effector,the workspace size,and the first mode natural frequency were regarded as the constraints.The cross-section area and length of the linkages were chosen as the design variables.NSGA-II algorithm was introduced to solve this complex multi-objective optimization problem.Additional criteria from engineering experience were incorporated into the selecting of final parameters among the obtained Pareto solution sets.Finally,experiments were performed to validate the linear dynamic structure and control performances of the optimized mechanisms.A new expression for measuring the dynamic coupling degree with clear physical meaning was proposed.The results show that the optimized mechanism has an approximate decoupled dynamics structure,and each active joint can be regarded as a linear SISO system.The control performances of the linear and nonlinear controllers were also compared.It can be concluded that the optimized mechanism can achieve good control performance only using a linear controller.
文摘A class of hybrid algorithms of real-time simulation based on evaluation of non-integerstep right-hand side function are presented in this paper. And some results of the convergence and stability of the algorithms are given. Using the class of algorithms, evaluation for the right-hand side function is needed once in every integration-step. Moreover, comparing with the other methods with the same amount of work, their numerical stability regions are larger and the method errors are smaller, and the numerical experiments show that the algorithms are very effective.
文摘The effects of real-time traffic information system(RTTIS)on traffic performance under parallel,grid and ring networks were investigated.The simulation results show that the effects of the proportion of RTTIS usage depend on the road network structures.For traffic on a parallel network,the performance of groups with and without RTTIS level is improved when the proportion of vehicles using RTTIS is greater than 0 and less than 30%,and a proportion of RTTIS usage higher than 90%would actually deteriorate the performance.For both grid and ring networks,a higher proportion of RTTIS usage always improves the performance of groups with and without RTTIS.For all three network structures,vehicles without RTTIS benefit from some proportion of RTTIS usage in a system.
