In this paper,a linear optimization method(LOM)for the design of terahertz circuits is presented,aimed at enhancing the simulation efficacy and reducing the time of the circuit design workflow.This method enables the rapid determination of optimal embedding impedance for diodes across a specific bandwidth to achieve maximum efficiency through harmonic balance simulations.By optimizing the linear matching circuit with the optimal embedding impedance,the method effectively segregates the simulation of the linear segments from the nonlinear segments in the frequency multiplier circuit,substantially improving the speed of simulations.The design of on-chip linear matching circuits adopts a modular circuit design strategy,incorporating fixed load resistors to simplify the matching challenge.Utilizing this approach,a 340 GHz frequency doubler was developed and measured.The results demonstrate that,across a bandwidth of 330 GHz to 342 GHz,the efficiency of the doubler remains above 10%,with an input power ranging from 98 mW to 141mW and an output power exceeding 13 mW.Notably,at an input power of 141 mW,a peak output power of 21.8 mW was achieved at 334 GHz,corresponding to an efficiency of 15.8%. 展开更多

Low-frequency signals have been proven valuable in the fields of target detection and geological exploration.Nevertheless,the practical implementation of these signals is hindered by large antenna diameters,limiting their potential applications.Therefore,it is imperative to study the creation of lowfrequency signals using antennas with suitable dimensions.In contrast to conventional mechanical antenna techniques,our study generates low-frequency signals in the spatial domain utilizing the principle of the Doppler effect.We also defines the antenna array architecture,the timing sequency,and the radiating element signal waveform,and provides experimental prototypes including 8/64 antennas based on earlier research.In the conducted experiments,121 MHz,40 MHz,and 10 kHz composite signals are generated by 156 MHz radiating element signals.The composite signal spectrum matches the simulations,proving our low-frequency signal generating method works.This holds significant implications for research on generating low-frequency signals with small-sized antennas. 展开更多

Dynamic disturbances certainly reduce shear strength of rock joints,yet the mechanism needs deeper explanation.We investigate the shear behavior of a rough basalt joint by conducting laboratory shear experiments.Constant and superimposed oscillating normal loads are applied at the upper block.Meanwhile,the bottom block moves at a constant shear rate.We investigate the shear behavior by:1)altering the normal load oscillation frequency with a same shear rate,2)altering the shear rate with a same normal load oscillation frequency,and 3)altering the normal load oscillation frequency and shear rate simultaneously with a constant ratio.The results show that the oscillating normal load reduces the coefficient of friction(COF).The reduce degree of COF increases with higher shear rate,decreases when increasing normal load oscillation frequency,and keeps constant if the special ratio,v/f(shear rate divided by normal oscillation frequency),is constant.Moreover,we identify a time lag between peak normal load and peak shear load.And the lagging proportion increases with higher shear rate,and decreases with larger static COF.Our results imply that a lower creep rate with a higher normal load oscillation frequency easily destabilizes the creeping fault zones. 展开更多

Hypersonic Glide Vehicles(HGVs)are advanced aircraft that can achieve extremely high speeds(generally over 5 Mach)and maneuverability within the Earth's atmosphere.HGV trajectory prediction is crucial for effective defense planning and interception strategies.In recent years,HGV trajectory prediction methods based on deep learning have the great potential to significantly enhance prediction accuracy and efficiency.However,it's still challenging to strike a balance between improving prediction performance and reducing computation costs of the deep learning trajectory prediction models.To solve this problem,we propose a new deep learning framework(FECA-LSMN)for efficient HGV trajectory prediction.The model first uses a Frequency Enhanced Channel Attention(FECA)module to facilitate the fusion of different HGV trajectory features,and then subsequently employs a Light Sampling-oriented Multi-Layer Perceptron Network(LSMN)based on simple MLP-based structures to extract long/shortterm HGV trajectory features for accurate trajectory prediction.Also,we employ a new data normalization method called reversible instance normalization(RevIN)to enhance the prediction accuracy and training stability of the network.Compared to other popular trajectory prediction models based on LSTM,GRU and Transformer,our FECA-LSMN model achieves leading or comparable performance in terms of RMSE,MAE and MAPE metrics while demonstrating notably faster computation time.The ablation experiments show that the incorporation of the FECA module significantly improves the prediction performance of the network.The RevIN data normalization technique outperforms traditional min-max normalization as well. 展开更多

A tunable dual polarization absorption-transmission-absorption(A-T-A)frequency selective absorbers(FSR)to address the issue of high insertion loss in current tunable FSRs is proposed.The lumped resistors are loaded onto the lossy layer to absorb electromagnetic waves within the absorption band.The varactor diodes are loaded onto another lossless layer to control the transmission frequency band of the FSR.Its equivalent circuit model is provided.The proposed tunable FSR can change the passband within the range of 14.5~15.5 GHz by changing the bias voltage applied to the lossless transmission layer,while maintaining insertion loss above-1.67 dB.The series resonant structure of the lossy layer generates bilateral absorption bands between 10.2~13.5 GHz and 17.2~22 GHz,with broadband reflection suppression ranging from 10.3 GHz to 22 GHz(70.7%).The prototype is manufactured,and the measured results have verified the simulation results. 展开更多

In modern war,radar countermeasure is becoming increasingly fierce,and the enemy jamming time and pattern are changing more randomly.It is challenging for the radar to efficiently identify jamming and obtain precise parameter information,particularly in low signal-to-noise ratio(SNR)situations.In this paper,an approach to intelligent recognition and complex jamming parameter estimate based on joint time-frequency distribution features is proposed to address this challenging issue.Firstly,a joint algorithm based on YOLOv5 convolutional neural networks(CNNs)is proposed,which is used to achieve the jamming signal classification and preliminary parameter estimation.Furthermore,an accurate jamming key parameters estimation algorithm is constructed by comprehensively utilizing chi-square statistical test,feature region search,position regression,spectrum interpolation,etc.,which realizes the accurate estimation of jamming carrier frequency,relative delay,Doppler frequency shift,and other parameters.Finally,the approach has improved performance for complex jamming recognition and parameter estimation under low SNR,and the recognition rate can reach 98%under−15 dB SNR,according to simulation and real data verification results. 展开更多

In the high speed target environment,there exists serious Doppler effect in the low pulse repetition frequency(LPRF) modulated frequency stepped frequency(MFSF) radar signal.The velocity range of the target is large and the velocity is high ambiguous,so the single method is difficult to satisfy the velocity measurement requirement.For this problem,a novel method is presented,it is a combination of cross-correlation inner frame velocity measurement and range-Doppler coupling velocity measurement.The cross-correlation inner frame method,overcoming the low Doppler tolerance of the cross-correlation between frames,can obtain the coarse velocity of the high speed target,and then the precision velocity can be obtained with the range-Doppler coupling method.The simulation results confirm the method is effective,and also it is well real-time and easy to the project application. 展开更多

A complete method of synchronization technology of bistatic radar using global position system (GPS) is presented. The pulse per second signal (1PPS) is elaborately modified to increase the time synchronization precision and keep loop locking. A very high time synchronization precision is achieved. Using the modified 1PPS to discipline the local OCXO, the reference frequency signal achieves both high long term stability (LTS) and short term stability (STS) properties. An algorithm, named phase abrupt change CFAR is presented to restrain the 1PPS phase abrupt change and keep loop locking. The experimental results indicate that this time and frequency synchronization method is effective and the time synchronization precision of the synchronization system can be improved from ±100 ns to ±25 ns. In addition, the phase noise is improved to 20 dB. 展开更多

For multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) systems, a joint timing synchronization and frequency offset acquisition algorithm based on fractional Fourier transform (FRFT) is proposed. The linear frequency modulation signals superimposed on the data signals are used as the training signals. By performing FRFT on the received signals and searching the peak value of the FRFT results, the receiver can realize timing synchronization and frequency offset acquisition simultaneously. Compared with the existing methods, the proposed algorithm can provide better timing synchronization performance and larger frequency offset acquisition range even under multi-path channels with low signal to noise ratio. This paper presents an algorithm that aims to reduce the peak-to-average power ratio(PAPR) of orthogonal frequency division multiplexing(OFDM) communication systems while maintaining frequency tracking.The algorithm achieves PAPR reduction by applying the complex conjugates of the data symbol obtained from the frequency domain to cancel the phase of the data symbol.A likelihood estimator is used to obtain the sub-carrier phase error due to the residual carrier frequency offset(RCFO) using the same complex conjugates as a pilot signal.Furthermore,a joint time and frequency domain multicarrier phase locked loop(MPLL) is developed to compensate additional frequency offset.Simulation results show that this algorithm is capable of reducing PAPR without impacting the frequency tracking performance. 展开更多

Based on the theory of the passive hydrogen maser, along with the technology of frequency modulation and modulation transfer spectroscopy, the theoretical expression of the single frequency modulation for the passive hydrogen maser and the function of the cavity and H line error signals separation are derived, which are basically coincident with the experiment. The absorption and dispersion spectrum curves with different resonance widths show that the cavity and hydrogen transition serve as discriminators, and the two error signals can be separated. Through the calculations of the two error signals in the passive hydrogen maser, it analyzes the traditional method of the two error signals separation, and then describes a new improved method for the passive hydrogen servo loops consisting in the use of a single modulation frequency and frequency discrimination. A null interaction of the two error signals for the new selection of the phase setting is deduced theoretically and validated by the simulation. The preliminary experimental result confirms the feasibility of this new approach, which can reduce the influence from the cavity frequency variety on the crystal oscillator and contribute significantly to the long term performance of the passive hydrogen maser. 展开更多

The novel compensating method directly demodulates the signals without the carrier recovery processes, in which the carrier with original modulation frequency is used as the local coherent carrier. In this way, the phase offsets due to frequency shift are linear. Based on this premise, the compensation processes are: firstly, the phase offsets between the baseband neighbor-symbols after clock recovery is unbiasedly estimated among the reference symbols; then, the receiving signals symbols are adjusted by the phase estimation value; finally, the phase offsets after adjusting are compensated by the least mean squares (LMS) algorithm. In order to express the compensation processes and ability clearly, the quadrature phase shift keying (QPSK) modulation signals are regarded as examples for Matlab simulation. BER simulations are carried out using the Monte-Carlo method. The learning curves are obtained to study the algorithm's convergence ability. The constellation figures are also simulated to observe the compensation results directly. 展开更多

The frame offset owing to incorrect start point position of the fast Fourier transform (FFT) window, and the carrier frequency offset (CFO) due to Doppler frequency shift or the frequency mismatch between the transmitter and receiver oscil ators, can bring severe inter-symbol interference (ISI) and inter-carrier interference (ICI) for the OFDM system. Relying on the relatively good correlation charac-teristic of the pseudo-noise (PN) sequence, a joint frame offset and normalized CFO estimation algorithm based on PN preamble in time domain is developed to realize the frame and frequency synchronization in the OFDM system. By comparison, the perfor-mances of the traditional algorithm and the improved algorithm are simulated under different conditions. The results indicate that the PN preamble based algorithm both in frame offset estimation and CFO estimation is more accurate, resource-saving and robust even under poor channel condition, such as low signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) and large normalized CFO. 展开更多

In light of the sparsity of radar target reflectivity, two imaging methods based on CS, termed the CS-based 2D joint imaging algorithm and the CS-based 2D decoupled imaging algorithm, are proposed. These methods incorporate the coherent mixing operation into the sparse dictionary, and take random measurements in both range and azimuth directions to get high resolution radar images, thus can remarkably reduce the data rate and simplify the hardware design of the radar system while maintaining imaging quality. Ex- periments from both simulated data and measured data in the anechoic chamber show that the proposed imaging methods can get more focused images than the traditional fast Fourier trans- form method. Wherein the joint algorithm has stronger robustness and can provide clearer inverse synthetic aperture radar images, while the decoupled algorithm is computationally more efficient but has slightly degraded imaging quality, which can be improved by increasing measurements or using a robuster recovery algorithm nevertheless. 展开更多

Carrier frequency and symbol rate estimation are the main contents of parameter estimation,which is the basis of modulation recognition and further processing of signals especially in non-cooperative communication.With the development of wireless communication,the signal transmission environment has become increasingly bad,causing more difficulties in parameter estimation.It is well known that the signal cycle spectrum is robust to noises and signal parameters are closely related.In practice,it is impossible to calculate the cyclic spectrum of infinite length data signals.When using finite length data to obtain a cycle spectrum,the truncation noise is induced,resulting in interference.It is necessary to overcome the influence of noises in order to improve the detection ability of discrete spectral lines.An improved method of the discrete spectral line extraction algorithm is proposed by reflecting the amplitude advantage of discrete spectral lines through salient features of continuous noises in discrete spectral line neighborhood. 展开更多

This paper aims to examine the architecture design of a distributed antenna based Gbps wireless communication system using the high frequency band.In order to analyze the feasibility of the higher frequency band applications,the cumulative distribution of simulated user throughput in a cellular is investigated firstly.It shows that capacity improvement can be obtained using higher operating frequency band,especially in hotspot scenarios.Secondly,the architecture of the distributed antenna system(DAS) is introduced to overcome the disadvantages of weak coverage and rank deficient for the traditional multiple-input multiple-output(MIMO) systems using higher frequency bands in line-of-sight(LOS)environments.In addition,a software-defined-radio(SDR) based Gbps wireless transmission system with scalable hardware architecture is designed and implemented.Finally,a demo of outdoor DAS coverage for high data throughput application is given.Field trials show that 1 Gbps data rate and a large coverage in outdoor environments can be achieved over 6.05 GHz.It is proved that the Gbps DAS system at a higher frequency band can be a successful model for future wireless broadband coverage in hotspot scenarios. 展开更多
