To verify the hypothesis ...This thesis puts forward a conjecture that, owing to some unknown special character of light, it is impossible to determine whether the speed of light is variable by the interference method. To verify the hypothesis of the invariance of light speed, a new method must be found to take accurate measurement of the infinitesimal change in the travelling time of light. The thesis suggests the adoption of high frequency laser pulse technology to carry out the measurement. On the basis of this idea a new discriminating experiment is proposed to test the hypothesis of the invariance of light speed. The thesis also makes some forecast of the future prospects of this experiment and of the future development of the theory of special relativity.展开更多
The ammunition loading system manipulator is susceptible to gear failure due to high-frequency,heavyload reciprocating motions and the absence of protective gear components.After a fault occurs,the distribution of fau...The ammunition loading system manipulator is susceptible to gear failure due to high-frequency,heavyload reciprocating motions and the absence of protective gear components.After a fault occurs,the distribution of fault characteristics under different loads is markedly inconsistent,and data is hard to label,which makes it difficult for the traditional diagnosis method based on single-condition training to generalize to different conditions.To address these issues,the paper proposes a novel transfer discriminant neural network(TDNN)for gear fault diagnosis.Specifically,an optimized joint distribution adaptive mechanism(OJDA)is designed to solve the distribution alignment problem between two domains.To improve the classification effect within the domain and the feature recognition capability for a few labeled data,metric learning is introduced to distinguish features from different fault categories.In addition,TDNN adopts a new pseudo-label training strategy to achieve label replacement by comparing the maximum probability of the pseudo-label with the test result.The proposed TDNN is verified in the experimental data set of the artillery manipulator device,and the diagnosis can achieve 99.5%,significantly outperforming other traditional adaptation methods.展开更多

Objective:Pelvic floor sensory training is commonly used in clinical practice for the treatment of stress urinary incontinence(SUI);however,there is a lack of comparative studies evaluating pelvic floor sensation betw...Objective:Pelvic floor sensory training is commonly used in clinical practice for the treatment of stress urinary incontinence(SUI);however,there is a lack of comparative studies evaluating pelvic floor sensation between women with SUI and healthy controls.Additionally,normative data for two-point discrimination thresholds in the female pelvic floor region remain scarce.This study aims to compare the results of 4 sensory tests in the pelvic floor region between women with mild SUI and healthy women,in order to provide reference values for two-point discrimination thresholds in this area.Methods:From April 1 to October 30,2023,108 healthy women[(32.5±3.6)years]and 90 women with mild SUI[(32.9±3.3)years]were recruited from the Third Xiangya Hospital,Central South University.Participants underwent 4 sensory tests in the pelvic floor region:Two-dot discrimination,weight perception,shape recognition,and 9-grid localization.The results were compared between the 2 groups.Results:Compared with healthy women,those with mild SUI had lower sensitivity and higher thresholds in 2-dot discrimination tests in the pelvic floor region(all P<0.001).No significant differences were found between groups in weight perception,shape recognition,or grid localization tests(P>0.05).Conclusion:Women with mild stress urinary incontinence have impaired two-point discrimination ability in the pelvic floor region.展开更多

According to column failure characteristics an...In order to apply the performance-based seismic design, an engineer must first find out whether the column is expected to fail in shear before or after flexural yielding. According to column failure characteristics and failure mode of reinforced concrete column, the UW-PEER structure performance database was discussed and analyzed. In order to investigate the relevance of failure mode and factors such as longitudinal reinforcement ratio, transverse reinforcement ratio, hoop spacing to depth ratio, aspect ratio, shearing resistance demand to shear capacity ratio and axial load ratio, Fisher's discriminant analysis(FDA) of the above factors was carried out. A discriminant function was developed to identify column failure mode. Results show that three factors, i.e., Vp /Vn, hoop spacing to depth ratio and aspect ratio have important influence on the failure mode. The failure mode has less to do with longitudinal reinforcement ratio, transverse reinforcement ratio and axial load ratio. Through using these three factors and the model proposed, over 85.6% of the original grouped cases were correctly classified. The value of coefficient of Vp /Vn is the largest, which means that discriminant equation is most sensitive to the shearing resistance demand to shear capacity ratio.展开更多

A DDA model was obtained through training 15 practical measuring samples. The re-substitution method was introduced to verify the stability of DDA model and the ratio of mis-discrimination is zero. The DDA model was used to discriminate 3 new samples and the results are identical with actual rock kind. Compared with the artificial neural network method and support vector mechanic method, the results show that this model has high prediction accuracy and can be used in practical engineering.展开更多

To tackle these issues, a novel target recognition method is designed, denoted by the multiple support vectors (multi-SV) method. With the proposed method, a special framework is constructed by a treble correlate support vector model to segment the feature space to two regions with the distribution of density, and then the description and classification hyperplane for each region are achieved. Based on the support vector framework, this method needs less memory and computation complexity to fit practical radar HRRP recognition. Finally, the experiment based on the measured data verifies the excellent performance of this method.展开更多
