Saturated hydrocarbon biomarkers in most samples are characterized by angiosperm-derived compounds, with aromatic compounds dominated by the naphthalene, phenanthrene, biphenyl, and fluorene series. The related source rocks of these oils were mainly deposited under oxic condition, but a subanoxic-suboxic and enclosed water column condition in the Central Depression during Oligocene. The identification of simonellite and related compounds in the aromatic fractions provides reliable evidence for the input of coniferous gymnosperms. Cadalene may also have a potential association with gymnosperms since it shows a strong positive correlation with simonellite. Evidence from density, nalkanes, short-chain alkylbenzenes and secondary brine inclusions indicates that the unique crude oil B13-1 may have suffered from thermal alteration. These crude oils(excluding B13-1) can be classified into four types based on the δ^(13)C_(oil)values and molecular biomarkers. Type A oil(solely S34-3) is characterized by non-angiosperm plants, with minor dinoflagellates and increasing contribution from conifer gymnosperms than others. Type B oils(L17-2, L18-1, L25-1, and L25-1W) show heavy δ^(13)C_(oil)(-24 ‰to-25 ‰) and mixed contributions from both angiosperms and marine algae, with the marine algae contribution increasing. Type C oils(L13-2 and B21-1) share similar biological sources with Type B, but the moderately δ^(13)C_(oil)(-25‰ to-26‰) and high level of terrestrial biomarkers suggesting a predominant contribution of angiosperms. Type D oils(Y13-1a, Y13-1b, and Y13-4) possess the lightestδ^(13)C_(oil)(mainly below-26‰) and are primarily derived from angiosperms, with mangrove vegetation playing an important role. Spearman correlation analysis among 14 source biomarker parameters withδ^(13)C_(oil)and geological setting of related source rocks implied that the marine algae should be responsible for the heavy δ^(13)C_(oil)in the Type B. The contribution of marine algae in the Central Depression may have been neglected in the past, as it is usually covered by remarkable angiosperm biomarkers.展开更多

Research on the impact and the specific mechanism of radiation on tumors has become a central topic in cancer therapy. According to the traditional view, radiation can directly affect the structure of the DNA double helix, which in turn activates DNA damage sensors to induce apoptosis, necrosis, and aging or affects normal mitosis events and ultimately rewires various biological characteristics of neoplasm cells. In addition, irradiation damages subcellular structures, such as the cytoplasmic membrane, endoplasmic reticulum, ribosome, mitochondria, and lysosome of cancer cells to regulate various biological activities of tumor cells. Recent studies have shown that radiation can also change the tumor cell phenotype, immunogenicity and microenvironment, thereby globally altering the biological behavior of cancer cells. In this review, we focus on the effects of therapeutic radiation on the biological features of tumor cells to provide a theoretical basis for combinational therapy and inaugurate a new era in oncology.展开更多

We also quantified water absorption, thickness swell and boron release of particleboards. Ulexite had the best decay resistance, and colemanite had the best termite resistance. However, ulexite and colemanite were not as effective as zinc borate or the boric acid/borax mixture in preventing mold growth. In general, the boric acid/borax mixture combination was more effective against Anobium larvae than the other treatments. Less boron was released by specimens containing zinc borate and colemanite than by those containing ulexite or the boric acid/borax mixture. In general, water absorption and thickness swell were similar among the different treatments, but both were slightly higher in the ulexite-incorporated specimens. Further mechanical tests will be needed to evaluate the particle- board properties and thereby the compatibility of these boron minerals with various manufacturing processes.展开更多

ITS sequence (601bp) was initially amplified from the pathogen by using the universal primers ITSl and ITS4 (registered No, DQ011257). Comparing to the nucleotide sequences acquired from GenBank database, the strain is clustered into the homogeneity with Alternaria alternate (AY787684) and Alternaria alternate (AY354228), with a homology of 98%, thus the strain was checked as Alternaria alternata (Fr.) Keissler. The optimal conditions for conidia germination and mycelium growth of the pathogen were tested, The optimal temperature for conidia germinating and mycelium growth is 25℃, and the optimal pH value is 6. Mycelium grows rather slowly at 10℃ and 30℃ and growth stops at above 35 ℃. Among the six culture mediums tested, PDA + poplar leaf juice medium is most favorable for mycelium growth.展开更多

文摘The terahertz(THz) band lies between microwave and infrared rays in wavelength and consists of non-ionizing radiation. Both domestic and foreign research institutions, including the army, have attached considerable importance to the research and development of THz technology because this radiation exhibits both photon-like and electron-like properties, which grant it considerable application value and potential. With the rapid development of THz technology and related applications, studies of the biological effects of THz radiation have become a major focus in the field of life sciences. Research in this field has only just begun, both at home and abroad. In this paper, research progress with respect to THz radiation, including its biological effects, mechanisms and methods of protection, will be reviewed.

文摘With the development of radiotherapeutic oncology, computer technology and medical imaging technology, radiation therapy has made great progress. In this review, we focus on the effects of therapeutic radiation on the biological features of tumor cells to provide a theoretical basis for combinational therapy and inaugurate a new era in oncology.
文摘With the increasing knowledge of shortwave radiation,it is widely used in wireless communications, radar observations, industrial manufacturing, and medical treatments.Despite of the benefits from shortwave, these wide applications expose humans to the risk of shortwave electromagnetic radiation, which is alleged to cause potential damage to biological systems. This review focused on the exposure to shortwave electromagnetic radiation, considering in vitro,in vivo and epidemiological results that have provided insight into the biological effects and mechanisms of shortwave.Additionally, some protective measures and suggestions are discussed here in the hope of obtaining more benefits from shortwave with fewer health risks.

文摘We compared resistance to decay, mold fungi, termites and insect larvae of particleboards incorporated with the raw boron minerals ulexite and colemanite to that of particleboards impregnated with the commercial boron preservative zinc borate, or boric acid plus a borax mixture. Further mechanical tests will be needed to evaluate the particle- board properties and thereby the compatibility of these boron minerals with various manufacturing processes.

文摘Polysaccharides are the important biologically active components found in the peel of Dioscorea opposita Thunb.(DTTP).The influences of 4 extraction methods, namely hot water extraction(W),acidic extraction(HA),hot-compressed water extraction(HCW)and enzyme-assisted extraction(EAE),on the yields, physicochemical properties, hypoglycemic and antioxidant activities of polysaccharides from DTTP were studied and compared.Among these DTTP polysaccharides,DTTP-HA was outstanding in several respects.DTTP-HA was the most water soluble;it had the highest total carbohydrate content(85.08%),the highest uronic acid(13.20%)and the highest thermal stability.DTTP-HA and DTTP-W possessed a triple-helix structure. These 4 kinds of polysaccharides have the same types of monosaccharides, but in different molar percentages.Extraction method had a significant impact on the microstructures of the extracted polysaccharides.DTT-HA exhibited irregular structure with many holes.Among the 4 extracted methods, the DTTP-HA and DTTP-W initially exhibited higher hypoglycemic and antioxidant activities. The better bioactivities of DTTP-HA may be related to the above factors. The findings indicated that acid extraction is an effective method to extract polysaccharides with high biological activities from DTTP.

文摘DNA was extracted from the strain of pathogen of poplar leaf blight using a modified CTAB method. Among the six culture mediums tested, PDA + poplar leaf juice medium is most favorable for mycelium growth.
