The research on the rock burst prediction was made on the basis of seismology,rock mechanics and the data from Dongguashan Copper Mine(DCM) ,the deepest metal mine in China.The seismic responses to mining in DCM were ...The research on the rock burst prediction was made on the basis of seismology,rock mechanics and the data from Dongguashan Copper Mine(DCM) ,the deepest metal mine in China.The seismic responses to mining in DCM were investigated through the analyses of the spatio-temporal distribution of hypocenters,apparent stress and displacement of seismic events,and the process of the generation of hazardous seismicity in DCM was studied in the framework of the theory of asperity in the seismic source mechanism.A method of locating areas with hazardous seismicity and a conceptual model of hazardous seismic nucleation in DCM were proposed.A criterion of rockburst prediction was analyzed theoretically in the framework of unstable failure theories,and consequently,the rate of change in the ratio of the seismic stiffness of rock in a seismic nucleation area to that in surrounding area,dS/dt,is defined as an index of the rockburst prediction.The possibility of a rockburst will increase if dS/dt>0,and the possibility of rock burst will decrease if dS/dt<0.The correctness of these methods is demonstrated by analyses of rock failure cases in DCM.展开更多

The steady-state benefits of static instability are illustrated, while the corresponding control challenge is described both by the characteristic lag of airframe and the increment of necessary control usage. Control limitation led by unstable zero-pole pair is analyzed for preliminary design and evaluation. Linear control strategy is examined wherein two and three loop acceleration autopilots with different control usages are developed using an optimal control approach combined with frequency domain constraint. The weights selection and relation with system performance are detailed. Then the nonlinear backstepping recursive method is detailed to determine how well it is able to follow command and its engineering feasibility. The results show that a static unstable missile is controllable, while the actuator bandwidth is the crucial limited factor. There should be a compromise between overall performance and actuator payment.展开更多
Different from the stable injection mode of conventional hydraulic fracturing,unstable fluid-injection can bring significant dynamic effect by using variable injection flow rate,which is beneficial to improve the frac...Different from the stable injection mode of conventional hydraulic fracturing,unstable fluid-injection can bring significant dynamic effect by using variable injection flow rate,which is beneficial to improve the fracturing effect.Obviously,the propagation process of fracturing fluid along the pipe string is crucial.In this paper,the fluid transient dynamics model in the pipe string was established,considering the boundary conditions of variable injection flow rate and reservoir seepage,and the unsteady friction was also taken into account.The above model was solved by characteristics and finite difference method respectively.Furthermore,the influences of geological parameters and fluid injection schemes on fluctuating pressure were also analyzed.The results show that unstable fluid-injection can cause noticeable fluctuation of fracturing fluid in the pipe string.Simultaneously,there is attenuation during the propagation of pressure fluctuation.The variation frequency of unstable fluid-injection and well depth have significant effects on pressure fluctuation amplitude at the bottom of the well.This research is conducive to understanding the mechanism of unstable fluid-injection hydraulic fracturing and providing guidance for the design of fluid-injection scheme.展开更多

A plot of Ms versus λ was suggested to calculate the suitable tuning param...An IMC-PID controller was proposed for unstable second-order time delay system which shows the characteristics of inverse response(RHP zero). A plot of Ms versus λ was suggested to calculate the suitable tuning parameter λ, which provides a trade-off between performance and robustness. Six different forms of process models were selected from literature to show the applicability of the present method. Performance of controller was calculated by ITAE and total variation TV and compared with recently published tuning rules. Undesirable overshoot was removed by using a set-point weighting parameter. Robustness was tested by introducing a perturbation into the various model parameters and closed-loop results show that the designed controller is robust in the case of model uncertainty. The proposed method shows an overall better closed-loop response as compared to other recently reported methods.展开更多
For efficient utilization of a limited geothermal resource in practical projects,the cycle parameters were comprehensively analyzed by combining with the heat transfer performance of the plate heat exchanger,with a va...For efficient utilization of a limited geothermal resource in practical projects,the cycle parameters were comprehensively analyzed by combining with the heat transfer performance of the plate heat exchanger,with a variation of flowrate of R245 fa.The influence of working fluid flowrate on a 500 W ORC system was investigated.Adjusting the working fluid flowrate to an optimal value results in the most efficient heat transfer and hence the optimal heat transfer parameters of the plate heat exchanger can be determined.Therefore,for the ORC systems,optimal working fluid flowrate should be controlled.Using different temperature hot water as the heat source,it is found that the optimal flowrate increases by 6-10 L/h with 5 ℃ increment of hot water inlet temperature.During experiment,lower degree of superheat of the working fluid at the outlet the plate heat exchanger may lead to unstable power generation.It is considered that the plate heat exchanger has a compact construction which makes its bulk so small that liquid mixture causes the unstable power generation.To avoid this phenomenon,the flow area of plate heat exchanger should be larger than the designed one.Alternatively,installing a small shell and tube heat exchanger between the outlet of plate heat exchanger and the inlet of expander can be another solution.展开更多

The effective stress law was used to represent the weakening of rock containing pore fluid under pressure. Numerical results show that rock specimen becomes soft (lower strength and hardening modulus) as pore pressure increases, leading to higher displacement skip across shear band. Higher pore pressure results in larger area of plastic zone, higher concentration of shear strain, more apparent precursor to snap-back (unstable failure) and slower snap-back. For higher pore pressure, the formation of shear band-elastic body system and the snap-back are earlier; the distance of snap-back decreases; the capacity of snap-back decreases, leading to lower elastic strain energy liberated beyond the instability and lower earthquake or rockburst magnitude. In the process of snap-back, the velocity skip across shear band is lower for rock specimen at higher pore pressure, showing the slower velocity of snap-back.展开更多
