Analysis of auxiliary antenna array effect on performance of wideband noncooperative interference cancellation

In wideband noncooperative interference cancellation,the reference signals obtained through auxiliary antennas are weighted to cancel with the interference signal.The correlation between the reference signal and the interference signal determines interference cancellation performance,while the auxiliary antenna array affects the correlation by influencing the amplitude and phase of the reference signals.This paper analyzes the effect of auxiliary antenna array on multiple performances of wideband noncooperative interference cancellation.Firstly,the array received signal model of wideband interference is established,and the weight vector coupled with the auxiliary antennas array manifold is solved by spectral analysis and eigen-subspace decomposition.Then,multiple performances which include cancellation resolution,grating null,wideband interference cancellation ratio(ICR),and convergence rate are quantitatively characterized with the auxiliary antenna array.It is obtained through analysis that the performances mutually restrict the auxiliary antenna array.Higher cancellation resolution requires larger array aperture,but when the number of auxiliary antennas is fixed,larger array aperture results in more grating nulls.When the auxiliary antennas are closer to the main antenna,the wideband ICR is improved,but the convergence rate is reduced.The conclusions are verified through simulation of one-dimensional uniform array and two-dimensional nonuniform array.The experiments of three arrays are compared,and the results conform well with simulation and support the theoretical analysis. 展开更多

A measurement system for the scattering characteristics of warhead fragments based on high-speed imaging systems offers advantages such as simple deployment,flexible maneuverability,and high spatiotemporal resolution,enabling the acquisition of full-process data of the fragment scattering process.However,mismatches between camera frame rates and target velocities can lead to long motion blur tails of high-speed fragment targets,resulting in low signal-to-noise ratios and rendering conventional detection algorithms ineffective in dynamic strong interference testing environments.In this study,we propose a detection framework centered on dynamic strong interference disturbance signal separation and suppression.We introduce a mixture Gaussian model constrained under a joint spatialtemporal-transform domain Dirichlet process,combined with total variation regularization to achieve disturbance signal suppression.Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed disturbance suppression method can be integrated with certain conventional motion target detection tasks,enabling adaptation to real-world data to a certain extent.Moreover,we provide a specific implementation of this process,which achieves a detection rate close to 100%with an approximate 0%false alarm rate in multiple sets of real target field test data.This research effectively advances the development of the field of damage parameter testing. 展开更多

The time difference of arrival(TDOA)estimation plays a crucial role in the accurate localization of the satellite interference source.In the dual-satellites interference source localization system,the target signal from the adjacent satellite is likely to be interfered by the normal communication signal with the same frequency.Therefore,the signal to noise ratio(SNR)of the target signal would become too low,and the TDOA estimation through cross-correlation processing would be unreliable or even unattainable.This paper proposes a technique based on blind separation to solve the co-channel interference problem,where separation of the mixed signal can be carried out by the particle filter(PF)algorithm.The experimental results show that the proposed method could achieve more accurate TDOA estimation.The measured data obtained by using the software radio platform at 915 MHz and 2 GHz respectively verify the effectiveness of the proposed method. 展开更多

The interrupted sampling repeater jamming(ISRJ) is an effective deception jamming method for coherent radar, especially for the wideband linear frequency modulation(LFM) radar. An electronic counter-countermeasure(ECCM) scheme is proposed to remove the ISRJ-based false targets from the pulse compression result of the de-chirping radar. Through the time-frequency(TF) analysis of the radar echo signal, it can be found that the TF characteristics of the ISRJ signal are discontinuous in the pulse duration because the ISRJ jammer needs short durations to receive the radar signal. Based on the discontinuous characteristics a particular band-pass filter can be generated by two alternative approaches to retain the true target signal and suppress the ISRJ signal. The simulation results prove the validity of the proposed ECCM scheme for the ISRJ. 展开更多

The excision threshold is a non-linear function related to the number and the power of interference, and attempting to get the exact relation of threshold related to the number and the power of interference is almost impossible. The N-sigma algorithm determines the excision threshold using subsection function; however, the excision threshold determined by this method is not exact. A new method to determine the threshold of N-sigma algorithm is proposed. The new method modifies the scale factor N by use of the membership function. The threshold determined by this method is consecutive and smooth, and it is closer to the fact than that of the initial N-sigma algorithm. The GPS signal and single-tone (CW) interference (that is, typical narrow-band interference) are implemented in the simulation, and the results are presented to demonstrate the validity of the new algorithm. 展开更多

A localized parametric time-sheared Gabor atom is derived by convolving a linear frequency modulated factor, modulating in frequency and translating in time to a dilated Gaussian function, which is the generalization of Gabor atom and is more delicate for matching most of the signals encountered in practice, especially for those having frequency dispersion characteristics. The time-frequency distribution of this atom concentrates in its time center and frequency center along energy curve, with the curve being oblique to a certain extent along the time axis. A novel parametric adaptive time-frequency distribution based on a set of the derived atoms is then proposed using a adaptive signal subspace decomposition method in frequency domain, which is non-negative time-frequency energy distribution and free of cross-term interference for multicomponent signals. The results of numerical simulation manifest the effectiveness of the approach in time-frequency representation and signal de-noising processing. 展开更多

A typical electronic communication system, such as GPS receiver, unmanned aerial vehicle's (UAV's) data link, and radar, faces multi-dimensional and complicated electromagnetic interference in operating environment. To measure the anti- interference performance of the electronic communication system in the complicated electromagnetic interference environment, a method of multi-dimensional and complicated electromagnetic interference hardware-in-the-loop simulation in an anechoic room is proposed. It takes into account the characteristics of interference signals and the positional relationship among interference, the receiver and the transmitter of the electronic communication system. It uses the grey relational method and the angular domain mapping error correction method to control the relevant parameters, the microwave switch and so on, thus achieving the approximately actual mapping of the outdoor multi-dimensional and complicated electromagnetic interference in the anechoic room. To verify the effectiveness of this method, the multi-dimensional and complicated electromagnetic interference of the UAV's data link is simulated as an example. The results show that the degree of correlation between the calculated signal to interference ratio of the data link receiver in the actual scene and the measured signal to interference ratio of the data link receiver simulated with this method in the anechoic room is 0.968 1, proving that the method is effective for simulating the complicated electromagnetic interference. 展开更多

The influence of frequency modulation (FM) interfer- ence on correlation detection performance of the pseudo random code continuous wave (PRC-CW) radar is analyzed. It is found that the correlation output deteriorates greatly when the FM inter- ference power exceeds the anti-jamming limit of the radar. Accord- ing to the fact that the PRC-CW radar echo is a wideband pseudo random signal occupying the whole TF plane, while the FM in- terference only concentrates in a small portion, a new method is proposed based on adaptive short-time Fourier transform (STFT) and time-varying filtering for FM interference suppression. This method filters the received signal by using a binary mask to excise only the portion of the TF plane corrupted by the interference. Two types of interference, linear FM (LFM) and sinusoidal FM (SFM), under different signal-to-jamming ratio (S JR) are studied. It is shown that the proposed method can effectively suppress the FM interference and improve the performance of target detection. 展开更多

Anti-jamming solutions based on antenna arrays enhance the anti-jamming ability and the robustness of global navigation satellite system(GNSS)receiver remarkably.However,the performance of the receiver will deteriorate significantly in the overloaded interferences scenario.We define the overloaded interferences scenario as where the number of interferences is more than or equal to the number of antenna arrays elements.In this paper,the effect mechanism of interferences with different incident directions is found by studying the anti-jamming performance of the adaptive space filter.The theoretical analysis and conclusions,which are first validated through numerical examples,reveal the relationships between the optimal weight vector and the eigenvectors of the input signal autocorrelation matrix,the relationships between the interference cancellation ratio(ICR),the signal to interference and noise power ratio(SINR)of the adaptive space filter output and the number of interferences,the eigenvalues of the input signal autocorrelation matrix.In addition,two simulation experiments are utilized to further corroborate the theoretical findings through soft anti-jamming receiver.The simulation results match well with the theoretical analysis results,thus validating the effect mechanism of overloaded interferences.The simulation results show that,for a four elements circular array,the performance difference is up to 19 dB with different incident directions of interferences.Anti-jamming performance evaluation and jamming deployment optimization can obtain more accurate and efficient results by using the conclusions. 展开更多

The adaptive digital beamforming technique in the space-polarization domain suppresses the interference with forming the coupling nulls of space and polarization domain.When there is the interference in mainlobe,it will cause serious mainlobe distortion,that the target detection suffers from.To overcome this problem and make radar cope with the complex multiple interferences scenarios,we propose a multiple mainlobe and/or sidelobe interferences suppression method for dual polarization array radar.Specifically,the proposed method consists of a signal preprocessing based on the proposed angle estimation with degree of polarization(DoP),and a filtering criterion based on the proposed linear constraint.The signal preprocessing provides the accurate estimated parameters of the interference,which contributes to the criterion for null-decoupling in the space-polarization domain of mainlobe.The proposed method can reduce the mainlobe distortion in the space-polarization domain while suppressing the multiple mainlobe and/or sidelobe interferences.The effectiveness of the proposed method is verified by simulations. 展开更多

Reflection engineering plays an important role in optics.For conventional approaches,the reflection tuning is quite challenging in a loss-free component.Therefore,a simple approach to tune the reflection is highly desired in plenty of applications.In this paper,we propose a new design of metasurface with just one single layer dielectric structure to tune the reflection of an interface by destructive interference in a subwavelength scale.By arranging the orientation of nano-antennas,the reflectivity tuning from 20%to 90%can be achieved at the wavelength of 1550 nm.Moreover,such reflectivity tuning of the designed metasurface works at the tunable wavelength from1500 nm to 1600 nm.This ultra-thin solution can achieve similar performance as the traditional bulky components without diffraction orders,while the design and fabrication are much simple and flexible.The ultra-thin and tunable properties indicate the great potentials of this method to be applied in laser fabrication,optical communication and optical integration. 展开更多

In the proposed methods, at the transmitter, by using Karhaunen-Loeve Transform and Discrete Fourier Transform, the transmitted power is set to zero in the directions of the eigenvectors that will be severely contaminated by NBI; and therefore less part of the transmitted energy will be polluted by NBI in channel. The processing is transferred from receiver to transmitter, and thus the complexity of the receiver is significantly reduced. This paper considers the problem of target and jamming recognition for the pulse Doppler radar fuze(PDRF).To solve the problem,the matched filter outputs of the PDRF under the action of target and jamming are analyzed.Then,the frequency entropy and peak-to-peak ratio are extracted from the matched filter output of the PDRF,and the time-frequency joint feature is constructed.Based on the time-frequency joint feature,the naive Bayesian classifier(NBC)with minimal risk is established for target and jamming recognition.To improve the adaptability of the proposed method in complex environments,an online update process that adaptively modifies the classifier in the duration of the work of the PDRF is proposed.The experiments show that the PDRF can maintain high recognition accuracy when the signal-to-noise ratio(SNR)decreases and the jamming-to-signal ratio(JSR)increases.Moreover,the applicable analysis shows that he ONBCMR method has low computational complexity and can fully meet the real-time requirements of PDRF. 展开更多

To solve the problem of the low interference success rate of air defense missile radio fuzes due to the unified interference form of the traditional fuze interference system,an interference decision method based Q-learning algorithm is proposed.First,dividing the distance between the missile and the target into multiple states to increase the quantity of state spaces.Second,a multidimensional motion space is utilized,and the search range of which changes with the distance of the projectile,to select parameters and minimize the amount of ineffective interference parameters.The interference effect is determined by detecting whether the fuze signal disappears.Finally,a weighted reward function is used to determine the reward value based on the range state,output power,and parameter quantity information of the interference form.The effectiveness of the proposed method in selecting the range of motion space parameters and designing the discrimination degree of the reward function has been verified through offline experiments involving full-range missile rendezvous.The optimal interference form for each distance state has been obtained.Compared with the single-interference decision method,the proposed decision method can effectively improve the success rate of interference. 展开更多

A novel direct sequence (DS) design method for suppressing the narrowband interference in DS spread spectrum ultra-wideband receivers is proposed. The method has low computational complexity and can be easily implemented in practical systems. Simulation results prove that the proposed method is effective to suppress the narrowband interference. Therefore, the integrity of both the ultra-wide bandwidth and the narrowband systems can be highly enhanced. 展开更多

Multi-radar signal separation is a critical process in modern reconnaissance systems. However, the complicated battlefield is typically confronted with increasing electronic equipment and complex radar waveforms. The intercepted signal is difficult to separate with conventional parameters because of severe overlapping in both time and frequency domains. On the contrary, time-frequency analysis maps the 1D signal into a 2D time-frequency plane, which provides a better insight into the signal than traditional methods. Particularly, the parameterized time-frequency analysis (PTFA) shows great potential in processing such non stationary signals. Five procedures for the PTFA are proposed to separate the overlapped multi-radar signal, including initiation, instantaneous frequency estimation with PTFA, signal demodulation, signal separation with adaptive filter and signal recovery. The proposed method is verified with both simulated and real signals, which shows good performance in the application on multi-radar signal separation. 展开更多
