It is found that ash and larch differ greatly in their belowground biomass distribution. Ash has much higher fine root biomass density in the soil than larch at stand level (with the max value of 4442.3 vs. 2234.9 gm-3). Both tree species deployed more fine roots in their neighboring zone, suggesting a less intensive competition between roots of the two species. Both fine root biomass density and root length density of ash in the zone between larch tree rows are greater than that of larch in zone between ash tree rows, indicating that ash is more powerful than larch in belowground competition. The spatial distribution feature of roots favors the growth of ash in the mixed stand.展开更多

The results indicate that in the axial direction the electron density tends to peak at midway between the two electrodes while the axial variation trend of mean electron energy is different from that of the electron density, the mean electron energy is high near the electrodes. And the mean electron energy near the cathode is much higher than that near the anode. This article focuses on the radial distribution of electron density and mean electron energy. We recorded 25 families, 37 genera, 40 species and 1771 woody individuals in a 0.09 ha plot. Euphorbiaceae and Moraceae were the most species- rich families, and Castanopsis, Ficus and Terminaliawere the most species-rich genera. Bursera serrata Wall. ex Colebr. was the dominant species in terms of highest importance value (13%). Trema orientalis (L.) B1 was typically a light demanding species as it appeared in the top can- opy with only one individual having the seventh highest IV, but had no regeneration. The expected maximum number of species (Smax) was 140, indicating that many species may invade the forest as the Sm~ is greater than the recorded total number of species. The nature of the disappear- ance and appearance of species in the present forest reflects instability of floristic composition. The values of Shannon's index H' and Pielou's index J' (evenness) were 3.36 bit and 0.63, respectively. These values show moderately high species diversity as compared to other subtropical forests in the tropics. In addition, a sample area of 200 m2 in this forest would be sufficient for measuring the diversity indices H" and ,/', whereas the trend of J'may indicate the rate of equality of individuals among the different species decreased with increasing area. The distribu- tion pattern for the total stand was completely random. However, the dominant species showed aggregate distribution for small areas, but random distribution for large areas. The spatial association between species showed that the strongest positive interspecific association occurred between Streblus asper Lour. and Castanea indica Roxh. (09 = 0.51). As a whole, most species were weakly associated with each other, of which 58% species associations were completely negative. The result of cluster analysis showed that species pairs were spatially independent at all or most small clusters; stands of species from all clusters are mosa- ics of complete habitat and pioneer habitat. All patches in this forest community have similar habitat and regeneration niches, which could be a phenomenon for a young growth forest. Thus, the existence of habitat and regeneration niches may be an important factor in the maintenance of diversity in this forest.展开更多

The spatial distribution in HHG demonstrates that the harmonic spectra are sensitive to the carrier envelope phase and the duration of the laser pulse. The HHG can be restrained by a pulse with the duration of 5 fs in the region from the 90 th to 320th order. This characteristic is illustrated by the probability density of electron wave packet distribution. The electron is mainly located near the nucleus along the positive-x direction from 3.0 o.c. to 3.2 o.c., which is an important time to generate the HHG in the plateau area. We also demonstrate the time-frequency distribution in the region of the positive-and negative-x direction to explain the physical mechanism.展开更多

Carbon sto...Allometric equations developed for the Lama forest, located in southern Benin, West Africa, were applied to estimate carbon stocks of three vegetation types:undisturbed forest, degraded forest, and fallow. Carbon stock of the undisturbed forest was 2.7 times higher than that in the degraded forest and 3.4 times higher than that in fallow. The structure of the forest suggests that the individual species were generally concentrated in lower diameter classes. Carbon stock was positively correlated to basal area and negatively related to tree density, suggesting that trees in higher diameter classes contributed significantly to the total carbon stock. The study demonstrated that large trees constitute an important component to include in the sampling approach to achieve accurate carbon quantification in forestry. Historical emissions from deforestation that converted more than 30% of the Lama forest into cropland between the years 1946 and 1987 amounted to 260,563.17 tons of carbon per year(t CO2/year) for the biomass pool only. The study explained the application of biomass models and ground truth data to estimate reference carbon stock of forests.展开更多

The spatial distribution of the HHG spectra shows that there is little contribution in HHG around the geometric center of two nuclei(z = 1.17 a.u.) and the equilibrium internuclear position of the H nucleus(z = 3.11 a.u.). We demonstrate the carrier envelope phase(CEP) effect on the spatial distribution of HHG in a few-cycle laser pulse. The HHG process is investigated by the time evolution of the electronic density distribution. The time–frequency analysis of HHG from two nuclei in HeH^(2+) is presented to further explain the underlying physical mechanism.展开更多

The experimental results demonstrate that the relative densities of SiCln (n=0-2) radicals have peak values at the position of 10 mm above the powered electrode along the axial direction; the relative densities of the Si and SiCIn (n=1, 2) radicals have peak values at the positions of 27mm and 7 mm away from the axis along the radial direction, respectively. Generally speaking, in the whole SICl4 plasma bulk region, the relative density of Si is one order of magnitude higher than that of SICl, and the relative density of SiCl is several times higher than that of SICl2. This reveals that Si and SiCl may be the primary growth precursors in forming thin films.展开更多

In this paper, by virtue of Geant4 toolkit, we simulated the generation and transport of X-ray photons resulting from the interaction of a high-energy electron beam with a solid thin target. We obtained the flash X-ray energy spectral distribution in the plane perpendicular to the electron beam incident direction. Our results indicate that the flash X- ray spectrum is almost uniform in the azimuthal direction but is quite different in the radius direction. Specifically, as the radius increases, the incident X-ray dose decreases significantly. Our work paves a theoretical basis for selecting appropriate structures and layout of the spectrometer and facilitates the measurements of flash X-ray energy spectra.展开更多

Methods: Cluster analysis and the Spatial Scan Statistics were performed based on the density of alive-snails in habitats and its rate infected by the 5. japonicum. Results : Although areas of snail habitats and density of the alive-snails in marshland in 2000 are higher significantly than that in mountain areas in Jiangning County, the numbers of habitats in mountain are more than that in marshland and they distributed sporadically. The snail habitats were classified into 4 in marshlands and 3 classes in mountain areas respectively in cluster analysis. Although they are mainly the one with low density of alive and infected snails, we should alert that there are also some habitats with high snail density and infection rate, which is important for the transmission of schis-tosomia. The analysis of Spatial Scan Statistics detected 2 significant spatial aggregations for alive-snail in marshland and 4 in mountain areas respectively with p-values less than 0. 01. There are also 2 significant spatial aggregations for infected snails in marshland. Conclusion: The significant spatial aggregations for alive-snails and infected snails indicated that there are some factors in the habitats suitable for the survival of snails and the transmission of schistosomia.展开更多

文摘Allometric equations developed for the Lama forest, located in southern Benin, West Africa, were applied to estimate carbon stocks of three vegetation types:undisturbed forest, degraded forest, and fallow. The study explained the application of biomass models and ground truth data to estimate reference carbon stock of forests.

文摘The spatial distribution in high-order harmonic generation(HHG) from the asymmetric diatomic molecule He H^(2+) is investigated by numerically solving the non-Born–Oppenheimer time-dependent Schr?dinger equation(TDSE). The time–frequency analysis of HHG from two nuclei in HeH^(2+) is presented to further explain the underlying physical mechanism.

文摘Historical and current climate impacts reshape the evolutionary trajectory and ecological dynamics of entire vegetative communities, which can drive insect species distribution.Understanding the spatial distribution of insects can enhance forest management effectiveness. The effects of historical and current climates in the spatial distribution of herbivorous tree insects in China were explored.A species distribution model simulated insect spatial distribution based on 596 species and the distribution probability and richness of these species were assessed in forest ecoregions. The explanatory power of the historical climate was stronger than that of the current climate, particularly historical annual precipitation and annual mean temperatures, for the distribution of herbivorous insects.Under both historical and current climatic conditions, herbivorous tree insects were and are mainly distributed in the North China Plain and the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River Plain, namely in the Huang He Plain mixed forests,Changjiang Plain evergreen forests, and Sichuan Basin evergreen broadleaf forests. The Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau and northeast China are regions with large impact differences between historical and current climates. The findings of this study provide valuable insights into herbivorous insect responses to sustained climate change and may contribute to long-term biodiversity conservation activities.
文摘The spatial distribution pattern of needle bright disease was mathematically studied. The results showed that it is tally with negative binomial distribution. The infected area and damaged amount can be forecasted with this spatial distribution pattern. Through the study on probability distribution of spatial points for single tree, the method and equations for calculation of the disease index of whole forest belt were determined.

文摘This study presents the results of a 2D numerical modeling investigation on the performance of non-reshaping berm breakwaters with a special look at the spatial distribution of irregular wave overtopping using FLOW-3D CFD code. The numerical model is based on Reynolds-Averaged Navier-Stokes solver(RANS)and volume of fluid(VOF)surface capturing scheme(RANS-VOF).The numerical model has been validated using experimental data. The armor and core porosities have been used as calibration factors to reproduce the wave overtopping distribution. The computed distributions of wave overtopping behind the structure agree well with the measurements for a non-reshaping berm breakwater.A formula is derived to relate the spatial distribution of wave overtopping water behind non-reshaping berm breakwaters to non-dimensional forms of wave height, wave period, berm width, berm height, and armor freeboard based on numerical results. This formula model agreed reasonably well with numerical model results.
文摘For a better understanding of the deposition mechanism of thin films in SiCl4 source gas, we have measured the spatial distributions of SiCln (n=0-2) radicals in SICl4 radio frequency glow discharge plasma utilizing a mass spectrometer equipped with a movable gas sampling apparatus. This reveals that Si and SiCl may be the primary growth precursors in forming thin films.

文摘Accurate measurement of flash X-ray energy spectra plays an important role in highenergy flash radiography. Our work paves a theoretical basis for selecting appropriate structures and layout of the spectrometer and facilitates the measurements of flash X-ray energy spectra.

文摘Forest fires caused by natural forces or human activities are one of the major natural risks in Northeast China. The incidence and spatial distribution of these fires vary over time and across the forested areas in Jilin Province,Northeast China. In this study, the incidence and distribution of 6519 forest fires from 1969 to 2013 in the province were investigated. The results indicated that the spatiotemporal distribution of the burnt forest area and the fire frequency varied significantly by month, year, and region.Fire occurrence displayed notable temporal patterns in the years after forest fire prevention measures were strictly implemented by the provincial government.Generally, forest fires in Jilin occurred in months when stubble and straw were burned and human activities were intense during traditional Chinese festivals.Baishan city,Jilin city, and Yanbian were defined as fire-prone regions for their high fire frequency.Yanbian had the highest frequency, and the fires tended to be large with the highest burned area per fire.Yanbian should thus be listed as the key target area by the fire management agency in Jilin Province for better fire prevention.

文摘Objective: To explore the spatial distribution of oncomelenia snails in Jiangning County. Conclusion: The significant spatial aggregations for alive-snails and infected snails indicated that there are some factors in the habitats suitable for the survival of snails and the transmission of schistosomia.

文摘The hydrophobicity of polluted silicone rubber was improved rapidly under plasma jet treatment. It is an important phenomenon of the interaction between the plasma jet and the porous surface, and shows a wide application prospect in the power system. In this process, the spatial characteristics and dose of plasma jet are very important. Therefore, the variation of hydrophobicity of polluted silicone rubber under plasma jet treatment was studied, and the spatial characteristics and dose of plasma jet on polluted silicone rubber were also investigated in the work. The results show that the surface property(hydrophilic or hydrophobic)depended on the dose of plasma applied to the surface. The effective treated area was a circle, and the contact angles changed along the radial direction of the circle. This was attributable to the diffusion of plasma bullets on the surface and the distribution of plasma species. The plasma dose could be characterized by the energy density of the plasma applied on the surface. With the increase of plasma dose, the surface contact angles first increased rapidly and then decreased gradually.

文摘Giant electromagnetic pulses(EMPs) induced by high-power laser irradiating solid targets interfere with various experimental diagnoses and even damage equipment,so unveiling the evolution of EMPs inside the laser chamber is crucial for designing effective EMP shielding. In this work, the transmission characteristics of EMPs as a function of distances from the target chamber center(TCC) are studied using B-dot probes. The mean EMP amplitude generated by picosecond laser-target interaction reaches 561 kV m^(-1),357 kV m^(-1),395 kV m^(-1),and 341 kV m^(-1)at 0.32 m,0.53 m,0.76 m,and 1 m from TCC,which decreases dramatically from 0.32 m to 0.53 m.However,it shows a fluctuation from 0.53 m to 1 m.The temporal features of EMPs indicate that time-domain EMP signals near the target chamber wall have a wider full width at half maximum compared to that close to TCC,mainly due to the echo oscillation of electromagnetic waves inside the target chamber based on simulation and experimentation. The conclusions of this study will provide a new approach to mitigate strong electromagnetic pulses by decreasing the echo oscillation of electromagnetic waves inside the target chamber during laser coupling with targets.
