This novel approximation is derived from the exact reflection coefficient equation with Taylor expansion for the incident angle.Model tests demonstrate that, compared with the reflection coefficients of the linearized approximations, the reflection coefficients of the novel nonlinearized approximate equation agree with those of the exact PP equation better for a high contrast interface with a moderate incident angle.Furthermore,we introduce a nonlinear direct inversion method utilizing the novel reflection coefficient equation as forward solver,to implement the direct inversion for the six parameters including P-wave velocities,S-wave velocities, and densities in the upper and lower layers across the interface. This nonlinear inversion algorithm is able to estimate the inverse of the nonlinear function in terms of model parameters directly rather than in a conventional optimization way.Three examples verified the feasibility and suitability of this novel approximation for a high contrast interface, and we still could estimate the six parameters across the interface reasonably when the parameters in both media across the interface vary about 50%.展开更多

It is found to be related to the transient behaviour of atoms after colliding with the wall and the distribution of the field inside the vapour corresponds to L/λ, with L the thickness of the film and λ the incident wavelength. We find that the sub-Doppler structure is manifest both for normal incidence and small angle oblique incidence, It is feasible to detect the real part of selective reflection in several cases that have not been achieved before.展开更多

When the As4 BEP is set to be zero, the RHEED pattern keeps a 4x3/(nx3) structure with increasing temperature, and surface segregation takes place until 470 ℃ The RHEED pattern develops into a metal-rich (4x2) structure as temperature increases to 495℃. The reason for this is that surface segregation makes the In inside the InGaAs film climb to its surface. With the temperature increasing up to 515℃, the RHEED pattern turns into a GaAs(2x4) structure due to In desorption. While the As4 BEP comes up to a specific value (1.33 x 10-4 Pa-1.33 x 10-3 Pa), the surface temperature can delay the segregation and desorption. We find that As4 BEP has a big influence on surface desorption, while surface segregation is more strongly dependent on temperature than surface desorption.展开更多

Nevertheless, as a typical nonlinear inverse problem, reflection waveform inversion may easily suffer from the cycleskipping issue and have a slow convergence rate, if gradient-based first-order optimization methods are used. To improve the accuracy and convergence rate, we introduce the Hessian operator into reflection traveltime inversion(RTI) and reflection waveform inversion(RWI) in the framework of second-order optimization. A practical two-stage workflow is proposed to build the velocity model, in which Gauss-Newton RTI is first applied to mitigate the cycle-skipping problem and then Gauss-Newton RWI is employed to enhance the model resolution. To make the Gauss-Newton iterations more efficiently and robustly for large-scale applications, we introduce proper preconditioning for the Hessian matrix and design appropriate strategies to reduce the computational costs. The example of a real dataset from East China Sea demonstrates that the cascaded Hessian-based RTI and RWI have good potential to improve velocity model building and seismic imaging, especially for the deep targets.展开更多

The incidence of two main waves(i.e., P1 and SV) is considered. As a result of the incident waves, four reflected(three longitudinal and one shear) waves are found in the medium. The expressions of reflection coefficients for a given incident wave are obtained as a non-singular system of linear equations. The energy shares of reflected waves are obtained in the form of an energy matrix. A numerical example is considered to calculate the partition of incident energy for fully closed as well as perfectly open pores. Effect of incident direction on the partition of the incident energy is analyzed with the change in wave frequency, wave-induced fluid-flow, pore-fluid viscosity and double-porosity structure. It has been confirmed from the numerical interpretation that during the reflection process, conservation of incident energy is obtained at each angle of incidence.展开更多

The sandwiched layer is modeled as a porous solid with finite thickness. The propagation of waves is represented with potential functions. The displacements of particles in different phases of the aggregate are defined in terms of these potential functions. Due to the presence of viscosity in pore fluids, the reflected and transmitted waves are inhomogeneous in nature, i.e., with different directions of propagation and attenuation. The closed-form analytical expressions for reflection and transmission coefficients are derived theoretically for appropriate boundary conditions. These expressions are calculated as a non-singular system of linear algebraic equations and depend on the various parameters involved in this non-singular system. Hence, numerical examples are studied to determine the effects of various properties of the sandwich layer on reflection and transmission coefficients. The essential features of layer thickness, incident direction, wave frequency, liquidsaturation and capillary pressure of the porous layer on reflection and transmission coefficients are depicted graphically and discussed. The analysis shows that reflection and transmission coefficients are strongly associated with incident direction and various properties of the porous layer.展开更多

The reflected and transmitted beam fields of an LG beam are derived. In the case where the principal coordinates of the uniaxial anisotropic media coincide with the global coordinates, the reflected and transmitted beam intensities from a uniaxial anisotropic slab and three-layered media are numerically simulated. It is shown that the reflected intensity components of the incident beam, especially the TM polarized incident beam, are smaller than the transmitted intensity components. The distortion of the reflected intensity component is more evident than that of the transmitted intensity component. The distortion of intensity distribution is greatly affected by the dielectric tensor and the thickness of anisotropic media. We finally extend the application of the method to general anisotropic multilayered media.展开更多

The transmission and reflection properties of the proposed plasmonic system are investigated numerically using the finite element method. The normalized Hz field distributions are calculated to analyze the transmission mode in the plasmonic system. The extreme destructive interference between light mode and dark mode causes plasmonically induced reflection (PIR) window in the transmission spectrum. The PIR window is fitted using the coupled mode theory. The analytical result agrees with the simulation result approximately. In addition, the PIR window can be controlled by adjusting structural parameters and filling different dielectric into the MIM waveguide and the square ring cavity. The results provide a new approach to designing plasmonic devices.展开更多

The underlying physical mechanism of the polarization-keeping reflection is analyzed using a reflection matrix. A wideband circular polarization-keeping reflector is demonstrated using N-shaped resonators. Both the simulation and experiment results show that the polarization-keeping reflection can be achieved with a high efficiency larger than 98% over the frequency range from 9.2 GHz to 17.7 GHz for both incident left- and right-handed circularly polarized waves. Under oblique incidence, the bandwidth increases as the incident angle varies from 0°to 80°. Moreover, the co-polarization reflection is independent of the incident azimuth angles.展开更多

We find that As4 BEP has a big influence on surface desorption, while surface segregation is more strongly dependent on temperature than surface desorption.

All the waves(i.e., incident and reflected) in an elastic medium are considered as homogeneous(i.e., having the same directions of propagation and attenuation), while all the refracted waves in double-porosity dual-permeability materials are inhomogeneous(i.e., having different directions of propagation and attenuation). The coefficients of reflection and refraction for a given incident wave are obtained as a non-singular system of linear equations. The energy shares of reflected and refracted waves are obtained in the form of an energy matrix. A numerical example is considered to calculate the partition of incident energy among various reflected and refracted waves. The effect of incident direction on the partition of the incident energy is analyzed with a change in wave frequency, wave-induced fluid-flow, pore-fluid viscosity and double-porosity structure. It has been confirmed from numerical interpretation that during the reflection/refraction process, conservation of incident energy is obtained at each angle of incidence.
文摘In this paper, four kinds of integral equations of convolution type are solved, in which the reflection occurs, that is, besides the unknown f(t),f(-t) is also appeared. Moreover, it is mentioned that the methods or solution for two of them are still effective when translation shifts, i.e., f(t+lambda(j)) or/and f(-t-mu(j)), occur in addition.

文摘A plasmonic waveguide coupled system that is composed of a square ring cavity and a metal-insulator-metal (MIM) waveguide with two silver baffles is proposed. The results provide a new approach to designing plasmonic devices.

文摘In this paper, we show that circular polarization-keeping reflection can be achieved using reflective metasurfaces. Moreover, the co-polarization reflection is independent of the incident azimuth angles.
