Among t...A contact bolt model is proposed as a new modeling technique to investigate the complex structure with bolted joints for modal analysis and compared with the coupled bolt model, and the test results are given. Among these models, the coupled bolt model provides the best accurate responses compared with the experimental results. The contact bolt model shows the best effectiveness and usefulness in view of operational time. The bolt models proposed in this study are adopted for a dynamic characteristic analysis of a large diesel engine consisting of several parts which are connected by many bolts. The dynamic behavior of the entire engine structure was investigated by experiment. The coupled bolt model and the contact bolt model were applied to model the assembly of engine with high preload. The experimental results are in good agreement with the finite element method (FEM) results. Compared with the other models, the contact bolt model presented in this paper is more effective and useful in view of operational time and experience of analysts.展开更多

Simulation and evaluation of its motional and dynamic performance were performed with the automatic dynamic analysis of mechanical system (ADAMS). ANSYS program was applied to the structural analysis of the model. A finite element analytic model was built up with the bottom-up methodology and was meshed. The default Block Lanczos method was used to work out the native frequency. The results indicate that the five lower modes-the transpotaion wheel, the left holding device, the right holding device, the left cutter disk, and the right cutter disk- and displacement of vibratory type only slightly affect the process of sugarcane harvester and harvesting quality. So it is advisable that the optimization of the static intensity other than the dynamic stiffness of uplift device be executed.展开更多

Moreover, the propeller, host and mechanical equipment can also induce the harmonic responses. In order to reduce structural vibration, it is important to obtain the modal parameters information of a ship. However, the traditional modal parameter identification methods are not suitable since the excitation information is difficult to obtain. Natural excitation technique-eigensystem realization algorithm (NExT-ERA) is an operational modal identification method which abstracts modal parameters only from the response signals, and it is based on the assumption that the input to the structure is pure white noise. Hence, it is necessary to study the influence of harmonic excitations while applying the NExT-ERA method to a ship structure. The results of this research paper indicate the practical experiences under ambient excitation, ship model experiments were successfully done in the modal parameters identification only when the harmonic frequencies were not too close to the modal frequencies.展开更多

MACs between each mode pairs, CoMACs and ECoMACs on each node of modal testing model have been calculated. On the assistant of modal shape comparison, MACs could afford information about correlating relations between tested and calculated mode groups. CoMACs and ECoMACs have pointed out the direction of structure modification to FEM model. The results of the study show that the analytic model built has a certain degree of accuracy.展开更多
To control the vibration level of ships under construction,MSC Software’s Patran&Nastran modeling solutions can be used to establish a detailed finite element model of a new manned submersible support mother ship...To control the vibration level of ships under construction,MSC Software’s Patran&Nastran modeling solutions can be used to establish a detailed finite element model of a new manned submersible support mother ship based on a line drawing,including the deck layout,bulkhead section,and stiffener distribution.After a comprehensive analysis of the ship simulation conditions,boundaries,and excitation forces of the main operating equipment,modal analysis and calculation of the ship vibration can be conducted.In this study,we calculated and analyzed the vibration response of key points in the stern area of the ship’s main deck and the submersible warehouse area under design loading working conditions.We then analyzed the vibration response of typical decks(including the compass deck,steering deck,captain’s deck,forecastle deck,and main deck)under the main excitation forces and moments(such as the full swing pod and generator sets).The analysis results showed that under DESIDEP working conditions,the vibration of each deck and key areas of the support mother ship could meet the vibration code requirements of the ship’s preliminary design(using the pod excitation and generator sets).Similarly,the vibration response of a scientific research ship under other loading conditions also met the requirements of the code and provided data support for a comprehensive understanding of the ship’s vibration and noise levels.Using actual vibration measurements,the accuracy of the vibration level simulations using finite element modeling was verified,the vibration of each area of the ship comfortably meeting the requirements of the China Classification Society.展开更多

As a result, the telescope assemble is less likely to resonate. Besides, the dynamic response module in ANSYS is utilized to analyze the modal type, harmonic vibration response and random vibration response of the telescope assemble. The total number of degree of freedom of the structure is condensed through a...In this paper, a model order reduction strategy is adopted for the static and dynamic behaviour simulation of a high-speed tracked vehicle. The total number of degree of freedom of the structure is condensed through a selection of interface degrees of freedom and significant global mode shapes, for an approximated description of vehicle dynamic behaviour. The methodology is implemented in a customised open-source software to reduce the computational efforts. The modelled tracked vehicle includes the sprung mass, the unsprung masses, connected by means of torsional bars, and all the track assemblies, composing the track chain. The proposed research activity presents a comprehensive investigation of the influence of the track chain, combined with longitudinal vehicle speed, on statics and vehicle dynamics, focusing on vertical dynamics. The vehicle response has been investigated both in frequency and time domain. In this last case road-wheel displacements are assumed as inputs for the model, under different working conditions, hence considering several road profiles with different amplitudes and characteristic excitation frequencies. Simulation results have proven a high fidelity in model order reduction approach and a significant contribution of the track chain in the global dynamic behaviour of the tracked vehicle.展开更多

The key technologies include reconfigurable structure design method of multi-process combined machining, man-machine coordination parameter programming and control system technology with self-maintenance function. A turn-milling machine tool based on this design method is developed. Natural frequency and corresponding vibration modes of the machine tool were analyzed by using both FEA and vibration test. Stiffness tests and machining experiments show that the rapid machining of most processes for the repaired work pieces can be successfully realized.展开更多
