An S-lay crane barge,named CNOOC 201,has been built for pipe laying in deepwater oil/gas fields in the South China Sea.It is due to be commissioned by the end of the year 2010.A special lifting system is developed to meet the challenge that installing deepwater risers from an S-lay barge is difficult and has not been achieved.The purpose of this paper was to investigate the model test on such an innovative system,which has to be done before field application.By applying the similarity theory,the movement of the S-lay barge is simulated through a six degrees-of-freedom motion platform,and a truncated model riser is utilized for the model testing.The displacement and force boundary conditions at the truncated position of the riser are obtained from the catenary governing equation and become realized by a slideway cart and a loading system designed to control the configuration of the model riser,which presents a similar configuration to a real riser in deepwater.The test results are in very good agreement with theoretical calculations,showing that the active truncated test is applicable for controlling the configuration of the deepwater riser in model testing investigation. 展开更多

A high-efficiency propeller can enable a long mission duration for autonomous underwater vehicles(AUVs).In this study,a new method with OpenProp coupled with computational fluid dynamics was developed to design a propeller for an Explorer100 AUV.The towed system simulation of the AUV was used to measure the nominal wake,and a self-propulsion simulation was used to measure the effective wake at the disc plane just in front of a propeller.Two propellers referring to the nominal wake(propeller 1)and effective wake(propeller 2)were designed with OpenProp and appended with the AUV for self-propulsion simulations,respectively.Through the numerical simulation of the AUV self-propulsion tests,the cruising velocity of AUV was obtained.The flow characteristics of the self-propulsion in pressure and velocity contours were also analyzed.The propeller designed with an effective wake improved the thrust,velocity,and efficiency by approximately 11.3%,6.7%,and 2.5%,respectively,as compared with those with a nominal wake.The cruising velocity of the final designed propeller for the Explorer100 AUV improved by 21.8%,as compared to that of the original propeller from the AUV free-running tests. 展开更多

Prandtl’s lifting line theory was generalized to the lifting problem of a three-dimensional hydrofoil in the presence of a free surface. Similar to the classical lifting theory, the singularity distribution method was utilized to solve two-dimensional lifting problems for the hydrofoil beneath the free surface at the air-water interface, and a lifting line theory was developed to correct three-dimensional effects of the hydrofoil with a large aspect ratio. Differing from the classical lifting theory, the main focus was on finding the three-dimensional Green function of the free surface induced by the steady motion of a system of horseshoe vortices under the free surface. Finally, numerical examples were given to show the relationship between the lift coefficient and submergence Froude numbers for 2-D and 3-D hydrofoils. If the submergence Froude number is small free surface effect will be significant registered as the increase of lift coefficient. The validity of these approaches was examined in comparison with the results calculated by other methods. 展开更多

Owing to the increase in unprecedented accidents with new root causes in almost all operational areas, the importance of risk management has dramatically risen. Risk assessment, one of the most significant aspects of risk management, has a substantial impact on the system-safety level of organizations, industries, and operations. If the causes of all kinds of failure and the interactions between them are considered, effective risk assessment can be highly accurate. A combination of traditional risk assessment approaches and modern scientific probability methods can help in realizing better quantitative risk assessment methods. Most researchers face the problem of minimal field data with respect to the probability and frequency of each failure. Because of this limitation in the availability of epistemic knowledge, it is important to conduct epistemic estimations by applying the Bayesian theory for identifying plausible outcomes. In this paper, we propose an algorithm and demonstrate its application in a case study for a light-weight lifting operation in the Persian Gulf of Iran. First, we identify potential accident scenarios and present them in an event tree format. Next, excluding human error, we use the event tree to roughly estimate the prior probability of other hazard-promoting factors using a minimal amount of field data. We then use the Success Likelihood Index Method(SLIM) to calculate the probability of human error. On the basis of the proposed event tree, we use the Bayesian network of the provided scenarios to compensate for the lack of data. Finally, we determine the resulting probability of each event based on its evidence in the epistemic estimation format by building on two Bayesian network types: the probability of hazard promotion factors and the Bayesian theory. The study results indicate that despite the lack of available information on the operation of floating objects, a satisfactory result can be achieved using epistemic data. 展开更多

For new submarine pipeline maintenance lifting equipment,a specialized analysis model is constructed in this study.A pipeline can be divided into the lifted portion and the touch-down portion that lies on the seabed,and each of these portions can be analyzed separately by converting the continuity conditions at the touch-down points to boundary conditions.The typical two-point sequence secant iterative technique is used to obtain the unknown lifted length and determine pipeline lifting confgurations.The BVP4C module in MATLAB software is used to solve this multiple-point boundary value problem issued from frst-order diferential equations.Also,the triple-point lifting mode of truncated maintenance and the two-point lifting mode of online maintenance are discussed.When the lifted heights at truss positions are shown,the lifting deformation,lifting forces,bending moment distribution,and axial force distribution can be analyzed using a dedicated analysis program.Numerical results can then be used to design a lifting strategy to protect the pipeline. 展开更多

The lifting scheme based wavelet transform can be finished by addition and shift simply. It improved the quality of reconstructive image and greatly reduced the computational complexity due to integer operation. It is suitable for real-time image coding on hardware such as DSP. The simulation results show that the lifting scheme based SPIHT is prior to traditional wavelet based SPHIT in quality and complexity. 展开更多

Submersible electrical motor direct-drive progressing cavity pump (PCP) rodless lifting was studied to solve the traditional rod-drive pump problems, such as rod-tubing wearing, low efficiency and short running time. The theoretical researches and laboratory experiments of key tools such as submersible motor and the construction technology of lifting system were introduced. The field application and economic benefit were analyzed and compared with the traditional rod pumping unit. A new low speed and large torque permanent magnet synchronous motor was developed. This motor was used to drive PCP without gear reducer, which improved the reliability and feasibility. It can run at the speed from 50 to 500 r/min with stepless speed regulation, and it can perform high efficiency and large torque. Besides, other key supporting tools, such as motor protector and flex shaft, were developed. The submersible electrical motor direct- drive PCP technology can be used in a 139.7 mm (5.5 in) casing well, with daily output ranging from 5 to 50 m3. Until now, the technology has been deployed more than 100 wells. The field application results show that it eliminates the rod-tubing wearing and saves electric energy by more than 30% compared with the traditional rod pumping unit. And it also makes the oil produced in a safe and environmental friendly way. 展开更多

At present,the cranes used at sea have several shortcomings in terms of flexibility,efficiency,and safety.Therefore,a floating multi-robot coordinated lifting system is proposed to fulfill the offshore lifting requirements.First,the structure of the lifting system is established according to the lifting task,the kinematic model of the system is developed by using the D–H coordinate transformation,and the dynamic model is developed based on rigid-body dynamics and hydrodynamics.Then,the static and dynamic workspace of the lifting system are analyzed,and the solving steps of the workspace are given by using the Monte–Carlo method.The effect of the load mass and the maximum allowable tension of the cable on the workspace is examined by simulation.Results show that the lifting system has limited carrying capacity and a data reference for selecting the structural parameters by analyzing the factors affecting the workspace.Findings provide a basis for further research on the optimal design of structural parameters and the determination of safe configurations of the lifting system. 展开更多

One of the crucial and challenging issues for researchers is presenting an appropriate approach to evaluate the aerodynamic characteristics of air cushion vehicles(ACVs)in terms of system design parameters.One of these issues includes introducing a suitable approach to analyze the effect of geometric shapes on the aerodynamic characteristics of ACVs.The main novelty of this paper lies in presenting an innovative method to study the geometric shape effect on air cushion lift force,which has not been investigated thus far.Moreover,this paper introduces a new approximate mathematical formula for calculating the air cushion lift force in terms of parameters,including the air gap,lateral gaps,air inlet velocity,and scaling factor for the first time.Thus,we calculate the aerodynamic lift force applied to nine different shapes of the air cushions used in the ACVs in the present paper through the ANSYS Fluent software.The geometrical shapes studied in this paper are rectangular,square,equilateral triangle,circular,elliptic shapes,and four other combined shapes,including circle-rectangle,circle-square,hexagonal,and fillet square.Results showed that the cushion with a circular pattern produces the highest lift force among other geometric shapes with the same conditions.The increase in the cushion lift force can be attributed to the fillet with a square shape and its increasing radius compared with the square shape. 展开更多

A tunneled planing hull has unique hybrid hydrodynamic and aerodynamic characteristics due to the presence of a tunnel.In this paper,experimental and numerical investigations on hydrody namic analysis of a tunneled planing hull are carried out.The resistance tests of models with three dif ferent masses(127.4 kg,159.5 kg,202.9 kg)are conducted for the Froude number in the range of 0.761≤Fn≤1.925.The results of resistance measured by towing tank imply that the tunneled planing hull with a larger displacement has a superior resistance performance.The numerical simulation of Reynolds Average Navier Stokes(RANS)equations based on the finite volume method is performed to analyze the hull characteristics in calm water(M=159.5 kg)with two degrees of freedom(sinkage and trim).The numerical results are compared with the experimental data,which shows good agreement.Pressure distribution,wave profiles and lift forces obtained by SST k-ωand Realizable k-εturbulence models are compared and discussed.Finally,the local fluid flow of streamline around the hull can be divided into four regions due to the presence of a tunnel,which is different from the behaviors of the conventional planing monohull with prismatic form. 展开更多

目的:研究消肿生肌汤辅助经括约肌间瘘管结扎术(Ligation of intersphincteric fistula tract,LIFT)对高位单纯性肛瘘术后疼痛(Visual analogue scale,VAS)评分、康复进程的影响.方法:选取2020年8月至2022年8月于我院确诊的94例肛瘘患... 目的:研究消肿生肌汤辅助经括约肌间瘘管结扎术(Ligation of intersphincteric fistula tract,LIFT)对高位单纯性肛瘘术后疼痛(Visual analogue scale,VAS)评分、康复进程的影响.方法:选取2020年8月至2022年8月于我院确诊的94例肛瘘患者作为研究对象,依随机对照法分为研究组和对照组,各47例.对照组采用LIFT术治疗,研究组在对照组基础上联合消肿生肌汤治疗.比较两组临床疗效、治疗后恢复情况及住院时间、治疗前后视觉模拟评分(VAS)、大便失禁严重性指数(Fecal incontinence severity index,FISI)、Wexner肛门失禁评分(Wexner)、肛肠动力学、相关血清指标水平.结果:研究组总有效率高于对照组(P<0.05);治疗后,研究组VAS、FISI、Wexner评分均低于对照组(P<0.05);研究组直肠静息压(Rectal resting pressure,RRP)、肛管最大收缩压(Analmaximal contraction pressure,AMCP)、肛管静息压(Anal tube resting pressure,ARP)、肛管最长收缩时间(Anal longest contraction,ALCT)水平高于对照组(P<0.05);研究组血清转化生长因子-β1(Transforming growth factor-β1,TGF-β1)、纤维连接蛋白(Fibronectin,FN)高于对照组,淀粉样蛋白A(Serum amyloid A,SAA)、趋化因子5(Chemokine ligand 5,CCL5)低于对照组(P>0.05);研究组恢复情况及住院时间短于对照组(P<0.05).结论:消肿生肌汤辅助LIFT对高位单纯性肛瘘患者术后效果显著,可有效促进患者创口愈合,减少炎症反应,降低肛肠疼痛度,缩短临床康复进程. 展开更多
