Shock wave caused by a sudden release of high-energy,such as explosion and blast,usually affects a significant range of areas.The utilization of a uniform fine mesh to capture sharp shock wave and to obtain precise re...Shock wave caused by a sudden release of high-energy,such as explosion and blast,usually affects a significant range of areas.The utilization of a uniform fine mesh to capture sharp shock wave and to obtain precise results is inefficient in terms of computational resource.This is particularly evident when large-scale fluid field simulations are conducted with significant differences in computational domain size.In this work,a variable-domain-size adaptive mesh enlargement(vAME)method is developed based on the proposed adaptive mesh enlargement(AME)method for modeling multi-explosives explosion problems.The vAME method reduces the division of numerous empty areas or unnecessary computational domains by adaptively suspending enlargement operation in one or two directions,rather than in all directions as in AME method.A series of numerical tests via AME and vAME with varying nonintegral enlargement ratios and different mesh numbers are simulated to verify the efficiency and order of accuracy.An estimate of speedup ratio is analyzed for further efficiency comparison.Several large-scale near-ground explosion experiments with single/multiple explosives are performed to analyze the shock wave superposition formed by the incident wave,reflected wave,and Mach wave.Additionally,the vAME method is employed to validate the accuracy,as well as to investigate the performance of the fluid field and shock wave propagation,considering explosive quantities ranging from 1 to 5 while maintaining a constant total mass.The results show a satisfactory correlation between the overpressure versus time curves for experiments and numerical simulations.The vAME method yields a competitive efficiency,increasing the computational speed to 3.0 and approximately 120,000 times in comparison to AME and the fully fine mesh method,respectively.It indicates that the vAME method reduces the computational cost with minimal impact on the results for such large-scale high-energy release problems with significant differences in computational domain size.展开更多

In this algorithm, the bottleneck is first scheduled optimally while the non-bottleneck machines are subordinated around the solutions of the bottleneck schedule by some effective dispatching rules. Computational results indicate that the MB heuristic can achieve a better tradeoff between solution quality and computational time compared to SB procedure for medium-size problems. Accurate positioning is one of the essential requirements for numerous applications of remote sensing data,especially in the event of a noisy or unreliable satellite signal.Toward this end,we present a novel framework...Accurate positioning is one of the essential requirements for numerous applications of remote sensing data,especially in the event of a noisy or unreliable satellite signal.Toward this end,we present a novel framework for aircraft geo-localization in a large range that only requires a downward-facing monocular camera,an altimeter,a compass,and an open-source Vector Map(VMAP).The algorithm combines the matching and particle filter methods.Shape vector and correlation between two building contour vectors are defined,and a coarse-to-fine building vector matching(CFBVM)method is proposed in the matching stage,for which the original matching results are described by the Gaussian mixture model(GMM).Subsequently,an improved resampling strategy is designed to reduce computing expenses with a huge number of initial particles,and a credibility indicator is designed to avoid location mistakes in the particle filter stage.An experimental evaluation of the approach based on flight data is provided.On a flight at a height of 0.2 km over a flight distance of 2 km,the aircraft is geo-localized in a reference map of 11,025 km~2using 0.09 km~2aerial images without any prior information.The absolute localization error is less than 10 m.展开更多

An ACO algorithm based on scout characteristic is proposed for solving the stagnation behavior and premature con- vergence problem of the basic ACO algorithm on TSP. The main idea is to partition artificial ants into two groups: scout ants and common ants. The common ants work according to the search manner of basic ant colony algorithm, but scout ants have some differences from common ants, they calculate each route's muta- tion probability of the current optimal solution using path evaluation model and search around the optimal solution according to the mutation probability. Simulation on TSP shows that the improved algorithm has high efficiency and robustness.展开更多

The orthogonal design with the factor analysis, an experimental design method is applied to the genetic algorithm to make the algorithm more robust, statistical y sound and quickly convergent. A crossover operator formed by the orthogonal array and the factor analysis is presented. First, this crossover operator can generate a smal but representative sample of points as offspring. After al of the better genes of these offspring are selected, a best combination among these offspring is then generated. The simulation results show the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.展开更多

The problem that is addressed in this study is to design a decentralized robust guaranteed cost state feedback controller such that the closed-loop system is not only regular, impulse-free and stable, but also guarantees an adequate level of performance for all admissible uncertainties. A sufficient condition for the existence of the decentralized robust guaranteed cost state feedback controllers is proposed in terms of a linear matrix inequality (LMI) via LMI approach. When this condition is feasible, the desired state feedback decentralized robust guaranteed cost controller gain matrices can be obtained. In dynamic environments,it is important to track changing optimal solutions over time.Univariate marginal distribution algorithm(UMDA) which is a class algorithm of estimation of distribution algorithms attracts mor...In dynamic environments,it is important to track changing optimal solutions over time.Univariate marginal distribution algorithm(UMDA) which is a class algorithm of estimation of distribution algorithms attracts more and more attention in recent years.In this paper a new multi-population and diffusion UMDA(MDUMDA) is proposed for dynamic multimodal problems.The multi-population approach is used to locate multiple local optima which are useful to find the global optimal solution quickly to dynamic multimodal problems.The diffusion model is used to increase the diversity in a guided fashion,which makes the neighbor individuals of previous optimal solutions move gradually from the previous optimal solutions and enlarge the search space.This approach uses both the information of current population and the part history information of the optimal solutions.Finally experimental studies on the moving peaks benchmark are carried out to evaluate the proposed algorithm and compare the performance of MDUMDA and multi-population quantum swarm optimization(MQSO) from the literature.The experimental results show that the MDUMDA is effective for the function with moving optimum and can adapt to the dynamic environments rapidly.展开更多

The problems' another feature lies in oversubscription, namely no...A self-adaptive large neighborhood search method for scheduling n jobs on m non-identical parallel machines with mul- tiple time windows is presented. The problems' another feature lies in oversubscription, namely not all jobs can be scheduled within specified scheduling horizons due to the limited machine capacity. The objective is thus to maximize the overall profits of processed jobs while respecting machine constraints. A first-in- first-out heuristic is applied to find an initial solution, and then a large neighborhood search procedure is employed to relax and re- optimize cumbersome solutions. A machine learning mechanism is also introduced to converge on the most efficient neighborhoods for the problem. Extensive computational results are presented based on data from an application involving the daily observation scheduling of a fleet of earth observing satellites. The method rapidly solves most problem instances to optimal or near optimal and shows a robust performance in sensitive analysis.展开更多

In the proposed algo- rithm, the solution of SCP is viewed as multi-dimension position of objects in the binary search space. All objects in the space attract each other by the gravity force, and this force causes a global movement of all objects towards the objects with heavier masses which correspond to good solutions. Computation results show that the proposed algorithm is very competitive. In addition, the proposed aigodthm is extended for SCP to solve the fault diagno- sis problem in graph-based systems.展开更多

QAA takes the advantage of the principles in quantum computing, such as qubit, quantum gate, and quantum superposition of states, to get more probabilistic-based status with small colonies. By updating the pheromone in the ant algorithm and rotating the quantum gate, the algorithm can finally reach the optimal solution. The detailed steps to use QAA are presented, and by solving series of test cases of classical knapsack problems, the effectiveness and generality of the new algorithm are validated.展开更多

To meet the technical requirement of the quenching process, a temperature cont...The temperature control of the large-scale vertical quench furnace is very difficult due to its huge volume and complex thermal exchanges. To meet the technical requirement of the quenching process, a temperature control system which integrates temperature calibration and temperature uniformity control is developed for the thermal treatment of aluminum alloy workpieces in the large-scale vertical quench furnace. To obtain the aluminum alloy workpiece temperature, an air heat transfer model is newly established to describe the temperature gradient distribution so that the immeasurable workpiece temperature can be calibrated from the available thermocouple temperature. To satisfy the uniformity control of the furnace temperature, a second order partial differential equation(PDE) is derived to describe the thermal dynamics inside the vertical quench furnace. Based on the PDE, a decoupling matrix is constructed to solve the coupling issue and decouple the heating process into multiple independent heating subsystems. Then, using the expert control rule to find a compromise of temperature rising time and overshoot during the quenching process. The developed temperature control system has been successfully applied to a 31 m large-scale vertical quench furnace, and the industrial running results show the significant improvement of the temperature uniformity, lower overshoot and shortened processing time.展开更多

First of all, by replacing parallel jobs with virtual jobs, the proposed algorithm converts the serial-parallel system into a pure serial system, where the classical Hungarian algorithm can be used to generate a temporal assignment plan via optimization. Afterwards, the assignment plan is validated by checking whether the virtual jobs can be realized by real jobs through local searching. If the assignment plan is not valid, the converted system will be adapted by adjusting the parameters of virtual jobs, and then be optimized again. Through iterative searching, the valid optimal assignment plan can eventually be obtained.To evaluate the proposed algorithm, the valid optimal assignment plan is applied to labor allocation of a manufacturing system which is a typical serial-parallel system.展开更多

文摘A novel chaotic search method is proposed,and a hybrid algorithm combining particle swarm optimization(PSO) with this new method,called CLSPSO,is put forward to solve 14 integer and mixed integer programming problems.The performances of CLSPSO are compared with those of other five hybrid algorithms combining PSO with chaotic search methods.Experimental results indicate that in terms of robustness and final convergence speed,CLSPSO is better than other five algorithms in solving many of these problems.Furthermore,CLSPSO exhibits good performance in solving two high-dimensional problems,and it finds better solutions than the known ones.A performance index(PI) is introduced to fairly compare the above six algorithms,and the obtained values of(PI) in three cases demonstrate that CLSPSO is superior to all the other five algorithms under the same conditions.

文摘An integer linear bilevel programming problem is firstly transformed into a binary linear bilevel programming problem, and then converted into a single-level binary implicit programming. An orthogonal genetic algorithm is developed for solving the binary linear implicit programming problem based on the orthogonal design. The orthogonal design with the factor analysis, an experimental design method is applied to the genetic algorithm to make the algorithm more robust, statistical y sound and quickly convergent. A crossover operator formed by the orthogonal array and the factor analysis is presented. First, this crossover operator can generate a smal but representative sample of points as offspring. After al of the better genes of these offspring are selected, a best combination among these offspring is then generated. The simulation results show the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.

文摘The decentralized robust guaranteed cost control problem is studied for a class of interconnected singular large-scale systems with time-delay and norm-bounded time-invariant parameter uncertainty under a given quadratic cost performance function. The problem that is addressed in this study is to design a decentralized robust guaranteed cost state feedback controller such that the closed-loop system is not only regular, impulse-free and stable, but also guarantees an adequate level of performance for all admissible uncertainties. A sufficient condition for the existence of the decentralized robust guaranteed cost state feedback controllers is proposed in terms of a linear matrix inequality (LMI) via LMI approach. When this condition is feasible, the desired state feedback decentralized robust guaranteed cost controller gain matrices can be obtained. Finally, an illustrative example is provided to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed approach.

文摘In this paper, we propose a modified evolutionary programming with dynamic domain for solving nonlinear IP/MIP problems with linear constraints, without involving penalty function or any transformation for the problem to a linear model or others. The numerical results show that the new algorithm gives a satisfactory performance in which it works of high speed, and accuracy in IP/MIP problems.

文摘In dynamic environments,it is important to track changing optimal solutions over time.Univariate marginal distribution algorithm(UMDA) which is a class algorithm of estimation of distribution algorithms attracts more and more attention in recent years.In this paper a new multi-population and diffusion UMDA(MDUMDA) is proposed for dynamic multimodal problems.The multi-population approach is used to locate multiple local optima which are useful to find the global optimal solution quickly to dynamic multimodal problems.The diffusion model is used to increase the diversity in a guided fashion,which makes the neighbor individuals of previous optimal solutions move gradually from the previous optimal solutions and enlarge the search space.This approach uses both the information of current population and the part history information of the optimal solutions.Finally experimental studies on the moving peaks benchmark are carried out to evaluate the proposed algorithm and compare the performance of MDUMDA and multi-population quantum swarm optimization(MQSO) from the literature.The experimental results show that the MDUMDA is effective for the function with moving optimum and can adapt to the dynamic environments rapidly.

文摘A quadratic bilevel programming problem is transformed into a single level complementarity slackness problem by applying Karush-Kuhn-Tucker(KKT) conditions.To cope with the complementarity constraints,a binary encoding scheme is adopted for KKT multipliers,and then the complementarity slackness problem is simplified to successive quadratic programming problems,which can be solved by many algorithms available.Based on 0-1 binary encoding,an orthogonal genetic algorithm,in which the orthogonal experimental design with both two-level orthogonal array and factor analysis is used as crossover operator,is proposed.Numerical experiments on 10 benchmark examples show that the orthogonal genetic algorithm can find global optimal solutions of quadratic bilevel programming problems with high accuracy in a small number of iterations.

文摘A self-adaptive large neighborhood search method for scheduling n jobs on m non-identical parallel machines with mul- tiple time windows is presented. The problems' another feature lies in oversubscription, namely not all jobs can be scheduled within specified scheduling horizons due to the limited machine capacity. The objective is thus to maximize the overall profits of processed jobs while respecting machine constraints. A first-in- first-out heuristic is applied to find an initial solution, and then a large neighborhood search procedure is employed to relax and re- optimize cumbersome solutions. A machine learning mechanism is also introduced to converge on the most efficient neighborhoods for the problem. Extensive computational results are presented based on data from an application involving the daily observation scheduling of a fleet of earth observing satellites. The method rapidly solves most problem instances to optimal or near optimal and shows a robust performance in sensitive analysis.

文摘A novel algorithm named randomized binary gravita- tional search (RBGS) algorithm is proposed for the set covering problem (SCP). It differs from previous SCP approaches because it does not work directly on the SCP matrix. In the proposed algo- rithm, the solution of SCP is viewed as multi-dimension position of objects in the binary search space. All objects in the space attract each other by the gravity force, and this force causes a global movement of all objects towards the objects with heavier masses which correspond to good solutions. Computation results show that the proposed algorithm is very competitive. In addition, the proposed aigodthm is extended for SCP to solve the fault diagno- sis problem in graph-based systems.

文摘The knapsack problem is a well-known combinatorial optimization problem which has been proved to be NP-hard. This paper proposes a new algorithm called quantum-inspired ant algorithm (QAA) to solve the knapsack problem. QAA takes the advantage of the principles in quantum computing, such as qubit, quantum gate, and quantum superposition of states, to get more probabilistic-based status with small colonies. By updating the pheromone in the ant algorithm and rotating the quantum gate, the algorithm can finally reach the optimal solution. The detailed steps to use QAA are presented, and by solving series of test cases of classical knapsack problems, the effectiveness and generality of the new algorithm are validated.

文摘The temperature control of the large-scale vertical quench furnace is very difficult due to its huge volume and complex thermal exchanges. To meet the technical requirement of the quenching process, a temperature control system which integrates temperature calibration and temperature uniformity control is developed for the thermal treatment of aluminum alloy workpieces in the large-scale vertical quench furnace. To obtain the aluminum alloy workpiece temperature, an air heat transfer model is newly established to describe the temperature gradient distribution so that the immeasurable workpiece temperature can be calibrated from the available thermocouple temperature. To satisfy the uniformity control of the furnace temperature, a second order partial differential equation(PDE) is derived to describe the thermal dynamics inside the vertical quench furnace. Based on the PDE, a decoupling matrix is constructed to solve the coupling issue and decouple the heating process into multiple independent heating subsystems. Then, using the expert control rule to find a compromise of temperature rising time and overshoot during the quenching process. The developed temperature control system has been successfully applied to a 31 m large-scale vertical quench furnace, and the industrial running results show the significant improvement of the temperature uniformity, lower overshoot and shortened processing time.
文摘In order to overcome the shortcoming of the classical Hungarian algorithm that it can only solve the problems where the total cost is the sum of that of each job, an improved Hungarian algorithm is proposed and used to solve the assignment problem of serial-parallel systems. First of all, by replacing parallel jobs with virtual jobs, the proposed algorithm converts the serial-parallel system into a pure serial system, where the classical Hungarian algorithm can be used to generate a temporal assignment plan via optimization. Afterwards, the assignment plan is validated by checking whether the virtual jobs can be realized by real jobs through local searching. If the assignment plan is not valid, the converted system will be adapted by adjusting the parameters of virtual jobs, and then be optimized again. Through iterative searching, the valid optimal assignment plan can eventually be obtained.To evaluate the proposed algorithm, the valid optimal assignment plan is applied to labor allocation of a manufacturing system which is a typical serial-parallel system.
