The results show that the C contents, C:N and C:P ratios of dominant species in the karst forest were lower than those in the non-karst forest, but the N and P and the N:P ratio were higher;C:N:P ratios in plant organs of trees in the karst forest were in the order of trunks>roots>branches>leaves. However, C:N:P ratio in the non-karst forest trees were trunks>branches>roots>leaves. Moreover, ratio of C:N:P in trunks was highest and lowest in leaves in both forests. In non-karst forest trees, N:P was in the order of leaves> roots>branches>trunks. There were no significant differences in the ratio of N:P in different plant components of trees in the karst forest. However, in karst and non-karst forest trees, the ratio of N:P in leaves was highest;positive correlations between N and P contents, and N and N:P ratios were observed in both karst and non-karst forests (p<0.001). Negative correlations between P and N:P ratios (p<0.05) were observed in karst forest trees, while positive correlations were observed in non-karst forest trees.展开更多

We used a neotectonic water-control theory, chemical and isotope methods, as well as a method for analyzing dynamic groundwater conditions. The results indicate that 1) Karst water in the deep and medium parts of this mining area is recharged by vertical leakage through neotectonic fractures rather than seepage along strata from subcrop parts or surrounding flows; 2) from surface to deep leakage paths, the variation in the types of chemical groundwater agrees with the normal lixiviation water distribution rule and the age of mixed groundwater increases; 3) the water-rich zones along neotectonic fractures correspond with water-diluted zones in a hori-zontal direction; 4) the leakage coefficient and water capacity of aquifers increases during the flow process of Karst water along the antidip direction (from west to east) and 5) Karst water in shallow mining areas forms a strong runoff belt along strikes and quickly dilutes the water from deep and medium mining areas. Overall, chemical and dynamic water characteristics actually agree with in terms of the entire consideration for differences in vertical leakage and abnormalities in the zone of water chemical distribution, along a horizontal runoff direction.展开更多

Fluid–solid coupling effects and safety margins in a rock pillar were studied. Analysis shows that rock pillar instability, exerted by disturbance stress and seepage stress, is the process of rock pillar catastrophic destabilization induced by nonlinear extension of plastic zones in the rock pillar. Seepage flow emerges in the rock pillar for preventing water inrush, accompanied by mechanical instability of the rock pillar. Taking the accident of a confined karst cave water-inrush of Qiyi Mine as an example, by studying the safety factor of the rock pillar and the relationship between karst cave water pressure and thickness of the rock pillar,it is proposed that rock pillar thickness with a safety factor equal to 1.5 is regarded as the calculated safety thickness of the rock pillar, which should be equal to the sum of the blasthole depth, blasting disturbance depth and the calculated safety thickness of the rock pillar. The cause of the karst water inrush at Qiyi Mine is that the rock pillar was so small that it did not possess a safety margin. Combining fluid–solid coupling theory, catastrophic theory and strength reduction method to study the nonlinear mechanical response of complicated rock engineering, new avenues for quantitative analysis of rock engineering stability evaluation should be forthcoming.展开更多

The main reservoirs in high productivity wells are fractured-vuggy and pore-vuggy. The reservoirs of Maokou Formation are generally thin, and can be divided into the upper reservoir segment(layer a of the second member to the third member of Maokou Formation, P_2 m^2 a-P_2 m^3) and the lower segment(layer b of the second member of Maokou Formation, P_2 m^2 b). The two reservoir segments are mainly controlled by two grain beaches during the sedimentation of P_2 m^2 a-P_2 m^3 and P_2 m^2 b, the vertical zonation of karst, and the fractures. The upper reservoir segment is generally better than the lower one in development degree and single well productivity, and is much thicker than the lower one. It is thicker in the Yibin-Zigong-Weiyuan-Dazu area, the southwestern area of Chongqing and the southeastern area of Luzhou, while the lower segment is thicker in the Neijiang-Zigong-Luzhou area and the Dazu-Luzhou area. The areas with big reservoir thickness at tectonic slope or syncline parts are the favorable exploration areas.展开更多

Affected by normal faults formed in the early magmatic activities and extension tectonic background in the late sedimentary period of the Maokou Formation, a local karst shallow depression under the background of karst slope came up in the Jianyang area of the western Sichuan Basin, where the residual thickness of the Maokou Formation was thinner. Basic volcanic rocks like pyroclastic rock of eruptive facies, basalt of overflow facies, diabase porphyrite of intrusive facies and sedimentary tuff of volcanic sedimentary facies were formed after karstification. However, under the effects of faulting and karst paleogeomorphology, the volcanic rocks in different areas had different accumulation features. In the Jianyang area, with long eruption time, the volcanic rocks were thick and complex in lithology, and accumulated in the karst depressions. In the Zhongjiang-Santai area located in the karst slope, there’s no fault developed, only thin layers of basalt and sedimentary tuff turned up. The karst landform controls the build-up of thick explosive facies volcanic rocks and also the development of karst reservoirs in the Maokou Formation, and the western Sichuan area has oil and gas exploration potential in volcanic rocks and the Maokou Formation.展开更多

The correspondingcontribution was 16.2% from sub-dominant trees(7.6% of trees, 16.2% of basal area) and 22.8% from middleandlower-layer trees (87.0% of trees, 55.6% of basal area). The variation of individual tree transpiration was mainly(97.9%) explained by tree dominance, but very weakly bytree species. The estimated annual stand transpiration was300.2 mm when using the newly developed method whichconsiders tree dominance, 52.5 mm (14.9%) lower than theestimation (352.7 mm) of traditional method which considersonly the sapwood area eff ect, and 8.5 mm (2.7%) lowerthan the estimation (308.6 mm) which considers the eff ectsof both species composition and sapwood area. The maintree characteristics aff ecting stand transpiration are tree size(sapwood area) and dominance. Consideration of tree dominancewill signifi cantly improve stand transpiration estimationand provide a more solid basis for guiding integratedforest-water management at stand scale.展开更多

文摘Leaf trait networks(LTNs)visualize the intricate linkages reflecting plant trait-functional coordination.Typical karst vegetation, developed from lithological dolomite and limestone, generally exhibits differential communities, possibly due to habitat rock exposure, soil depth, and soil physicochemical properties variations, leading to a shift from plant trait variation to functional linkages. However, how soil and habitat quality affect the differentiation of leaf trait networks remains unclear.LTNs were constructed for typical dolomite and limestone habitats by analyzing twenty-one woody plant leaf traits across fifty-six forest subplots in karst mountains. The differences between dolomite and limestone LTNs were compared using network parameters. The network association of soil and habitat quality was analyzed using redundancy analysis(RDA),Mantle's test, and a random forest model. The limestone LTN exhibited significantly higher edge density with lower diameter and average path length when compared to the dolomite LTN.It indicates LTN differentiation, with the limestone network displaying a more compact architecture and higher connectivity than the dolomite network. The specific leaf phosphorus and leaf nitrogen contents of dolomite LTN,as well as the leaf mass and leaf carbon contents of limestone LTN,significantly contributed to network degree and closeness, serving as crucial node traits regulating LTN connectedness.Additionally, both habitat LTNs significantly correlated with soil nitrogen and phosphorus, stoichiometric ratios,pH,and organic carbon,as well as soil depth and rock exposure rates, with soil depth and rock exposure showing greater relative importance.Soil depth and rock exposure dominate trait network differentiation, with the limestone habitat exhibiting a more compact network architecture than the dolomite habitat.

Negative correlations between P and N:P ratios (p<0.05) were observed in karst forest trees, while positive correlations were observed in non-karst forest trees.

文摘Based on a large number of drilling, logging, seismic and production data, the differential structures of karst zone and hydrocarbon distribution in different paleogeomorphic units of the Tahe area,Tarim Basin, are discussed by analyzing the karst drainages and flowing channels. The karst paleogeomorphy of Ordovician in Tahe area is composed of watershed, karst valley and karst basin. The watershed has epikarst zone of 57.8 m thick on average and vadose karst zone of 115.2 m thick on average with dense faults, fractures and medium-small fracture-caves,and 76.5%of wells in this area have cumulative production of more than 5×10^(4) t per well. The karst valleys have epikarst zone, vadose karst zone and runoff karst zone, with an average thickness of 14.6,26.4 and 132.6 m respectively. In the runoff karst zone, the caves of subsurface river are mostly filled by fine sediment, with a filling rate up to 86.8%,and 84.9%of wells in this area have cumulative production of less than 2×10^(4) t per well. The karst basin has no karst zone, but only fault-karst reservoirs in local fault zones, which are up to 600 m thick and closely developed within 1 km around faults.Different karst landforms have different water flowing pattern, forming different karst zone structures and resulting in differential distribution of oil and gas.The watershed has been on the direction of oil and gas migration,so medium-small sized connected fracture-caves in this area have high filling degree of oil and gas,and most wells in this area have high production. Most caves in subsurface river are filled due to strong sedimentation and transportation of the river,so the subsurface river sediment has low hydrocarbon abundance and more low production oil wells. The faults linking source rock are not only the water channels but also the oil-gas migration pathways, where the karst fractures and caves provide huge reservoir space for oil and gas accumulation.

文摘The reservoir space, types and distribution characteristics of karst carbonate gas reservoirs in the fourth member of Sinian Dengying Formation(Deng 4 Member)in central Sichuan Basin are analyzed based on the drilling, logging and seismic data.A development model of karst reservoirs is constructed to support the high-efficiency development of gas pools. The research shows that the reservoirs in Deng 4 Member have mainly small-scale karst vugs and fractures as storage space, and can be divided into three types,fracture-vug,pore-vug and pore types. The development patterns of the karst reservoirs are determined. On the plane, the karst layers increase from 65 m to 170 m in thickness from the karst platform to the karst slope, and the high-quality reservoirs increase from 25.0 m to 42.2 m in thickness;vertically, the reservoirs at the top of Deng 4 Member appear in multiple layers, and show along-bedding and along fracture dissolution characteristics. The reservoirs at the bottom are characterized by the dissolution parallel to the water level during the karstification period, and have 3-5 large-scale fracture-cave systems.Based on the reservoir development characteristics and the genetic mechanism, three types of reservoir development models of karst reservoir are established,i.e.,bed-dissolved body,fracture-dissolved body and paleohorizon-dissolved body. The construction of karst reservoir development models and seismic response characteristics of the three types of reservoirs can provide parameter for well placement and trajectory design, and substantially improve productivity and development indices of individual wells and gas reservoirs. The designed production capacity of the gas reservoir has enhanced from the initial 3.6 billion to 6 billion cubic meters, making the profit of the reservoir development increase noticeably.

文摘Soil enzymes play a vital role in biogeochemical cycling and ecosystem functions. In this study,we examined the response of six soil enzymes to changes in physicochemical properties resulting from changes in season and vegetation and geological conditions.Catalase, urease, acid phosphatase, invertase, amylase, and cellulase not only promote carbon, nitrogen, and phosphorus cycling, but also participate in the decomposition of harmful substances.Thirty-six soil samples were collected from karst and non-karst areas in two different seasons and from three different types of vegetation in Yunnan province, southwest China. Both vegetation types and season had significant effects on soil physicochemical properties and enzyme activities. In the same plot, soil water content, electrical conductivity, organic carbon, total nitrogen, and total phosphorus increased in the rainy season, indicating enhanced microbial metabolic activity. With the exception of urease activity, the remaining five enzymes showed higher activity in the rainy season.Changes in activities between the two seasons were significant in all samples. In the same season, activity levels of soil enzymes were higher in karst areas than in non-karst areas, and higher in natural forest than in artificial forests. The transformative abilities of soil elements are higher in karst areas than in non-karst areas, and higher in natural forests than in artificial forests.Correlation analysis showed that the activities of the six enzymes correlated significantly;however, soil physical and chemical indices, such as organic matter,pH,and moisture, which are essential for enzyme activity, differed by season.Redundancy analysis also revealed that the main factors influencing enzyme activity differed between the two seasons. The results from this study provide a theoretical basis for further research on the restoration of natural ecological systems in karst landscapes.

文摘Grouting is the most commonly used method to control water inrush in underground engineering.Traditional cement-based materials are easy to dilute and hard to coagulate under the influence of large flow and high-velocity water inrush. To address these deficiencies,a new type of polymer grouting material with an excellent expansion ratio was synthesised. The material quickly absorbs water and has an expansion ratio of 1:300.The material is composed of a superabsorbent polymer(SAP),glycerol, and ethanol. The effects of water quality on the expansion ratio and expansion rate of the material were examined, and the best solid–liquid ratio for the slurry was determined by fluidity measurements.A karst specially designed pipeline water inrush test device showed that 800 g of SAP can achieve 0.6 m/s water flow blockage in the smooth pipeline, demonstrating that the ability of the SAP slurry to block water inrush is superior to those of other materials. This study provides a reference for water inrush plugging, and has important implications for the reduction and control of karst pipeline-type water inrush disasters, ensuring the safety of construction sites and preventing loss of life and damage to property.

文摘Gas injection serves as a main enhanced oil recovery(EOR)method in fractured-vuggy carbonate reservoir, but its effect differs among single wells and multi-well groups because of the diverse fractured-vuggy configuration. Many researchers conducted experiments for the observation of fluid flow and the evaluation of production performance, while most of their physical models were fabricated based on the probability distribution of fractures and caves in the reservoir. In this study,a two-dimensional physical model of the karst fault system was designed and fabricated based on the geological model of TK748 well group in the seventh block of the Tahe Oilfield. The fluid flow and production performance of primary gas flooding were discussed.Gas-assisted gravity flooding was firstly introduced to take full use of gas-oil gravity difference, and its feasibility in the karst fault system was examined.Experimental results showed that primary gas flooding created more flow paths and achieved a remarkable increment of oil recovery compared to water flooding.Gas injection at a lower location was recommended to delay gas breakthrough.Gas-assisted gravity flooding achieved more stable gas-displacing-oil because oil production was at a lower location, and thus, the oil recovery was further enhanced.

文摘In order to study the movement characteristics of groundwater in a deep mining area and solve the dispute of the distri- bution rule of hydro-chemical zoning which is contradicted by lixiviation water zoning in a horizontal direction, we directed our attention to the source of deep groundwater, its seepage and hydro-chemical characteristics in a typical mining area. Overall, chemical and dynamic water characteristics actually agree with in terms of the entire consideration for differences in vertical leakage and abnormalities in the zone of water chemical distribution, along a horizontal runoff direction.

文摘In order to study the mechanism of water inrush from a concealed, confined karst cave, we established a fluid–solid coupling model of water inrush from a concealed karst cave ahead of a roadway and a strength reduction method in a rock pillar for preventing water inrush based on catastrophic theory. Combining fluid–solid coupling theory, catastrophic theory and strength reduction method to study the nonlinear mechanical response of complicated rock engineering, new avenues for quantitative analysis of rock engineering stability evaluation should be forthcoming.

文摘Based on outcrop, core, logging, seismic and production data, and the formation of fault-controlled karst reservoirs, the types and characterization of Ordovician fault-controlled karst reservoir architectures in the Tuoputai area of the Tahe oilfield are studied.According to the concept of genetic geologic body, the fault-controlled karst reservoir is divided into architecture elements of four levels, the strike-slip fault impact zone is the level-1 architecture element, the fault-controlled karst reservoir the level-2 architecture element, the fracture-cave zone(which can be further subdivided into dissolution cave, dissolution pore and vug,and fracture zones)inside the fault-controlled karst reservoir the level-3 architecture element, and fillings inside caves is the level-4 architecture element(which can be further divided based on the filling degree and lithologic types of the fillings).Specific characterization techniques have been optimized according to the characteristics of various architecture elements. The zone impacted by strike-slip fault is characterized by seismic coherence and artificial interpretation.Under the constraint of zone impacted by strike-slip fault, fault likelihood(FL)property is used to characterize the outline of fault-controlled karst reservoir.Under the constraint of fault-controlled karst reservoir outline, the internal structures are divided based on seismic texture attribute. Finally, the cavern filling pattern is interpreted based on drilling and logging data. The fault-controlled karst reservoirs can be interpreted in 3-dimensional space by architecture element levels, and the characterization technology combining log and seismic data for fault-controlled karst reservoir has been worked out, which has complemented the development theory and technologies for this kind of reservoirs in the Tahe oilfield.

文摘Spatial and environmental processes are two ecological processes that have attracted considerable attention in plant community assembly, depending on sampling scale and life history. However, the processes that determine community assembly have not been studied in the karst region of southwest China. In this study,a 25-ha(500 m×500 m)monitoring plot within the subtropical climax forest in the karst region was established and canonical correspondence analysis was used to reveal the effects of topography and soil on the spatial patterns of tree community assembly. Our study suggests that spatial processes dominate species composition and the combined effects of spatial and environmental processes play an important role.Overall interpretation rate increases with enlarging the sampling scale. However, the pattern of variation partitioning was similar in different life stages.Environmental variables significantly affected species composition at different sampling sizes and life histories and had a higher interpretation rate of species composition on larger s ampling sizes.Topographic wetness index was the most important variable to explain species composition of the environmental variables. These results suggest that it is necessary to consider the relative importance of environmental and spatial factors on community assembly to better understand, conserve, and manage subtropical karst forests.

文摘To further ascertain the origin of the Ordovician Majiagou Formation reservoirs in the Ordos Basin, the M54-M51 sub-members of the Ordovician Majiagou Formation in the eastern Sulige gasfield of Ordos Basin were taken as examples to analyze the vertical development characteristics of eogenetic karst and to discover the dissolution mechanism and its control on reservoirs through observation of a large number of cores and thin sections.According to detailed analysis of petrologic characteristics, the reservoir rock types include micritic dolomite, grain dolomite and microbialite which have mainly moldic pore, intergranular(dissolved)pore, and(dissolved)residual framework pore as main reservoir space respectively. The study area developed upward-shallowing sequences, with an exposure surface at the top of a single upward-shallowing sequence. The karst systems under the exposure surface had typical exposure characteristics of early dissolution and filling, indicating these reservoirs were related to the facies-controlled eogenetic karstification. With the increase of karstification intensity, the reservoirs became worse in physical properties.

文摘Based on the analysis of the responses of conventional logs such as natural gamma(GR), density(DEN), acoustic interval transit time(AC), compensated neutron(CNL), dual lateral resistivity(Rlld, Rlls), and caliper log(CAL), combined with drilling data, cores, thin section and productivity of 65 wells, the reservoirs in the Mid-Permian Maokou Formation of southern Sichuan Basin were divided into four types, fractured-vuggy, pore-vuggy, fractured and fractured-cavity. The areas with big reservoir thickness at tectonic slope or syncline parts are the favorable exploration areas.

文摘Based on outcrop, drilling, logging, geochemical analysis and seismic data, the karst landform and distribution of Permian volcanic rocks at the end of the sedimentary period of the Maokou Formation in the western Sichuan Basin are examined, and their petroleum geological significance is discussed. The karst landform controls the build-up of thick explosive facies volcanic rocks and also the development of karst reservoirs in the Maokou Formation, and the western Sichuan area has oil and gas exploration potential in volcanic rocks and the Maokou Formation.

文摘Background:Karst areas in southwestern China exhibit ecological degradation in the form of rocky desertification.Local governments launched large-scale afforestation and other ecological restoration programs to curb this trend.Soil thickness is a key limiting factor for vegetation restoration in Karst areas, but the relationship between ecological restoration and soil thickness remains unclear.Further, afforestation consumes large amounts of water, which impacts water supply in karst areas. In this study,we used GIS and statistical analyses to determine rocky desertification sensitivity and its driving factors in karst areas of Chongqing municipality over the past decade. Results:Soil thickness is one of the key factors that restrict ecological restoration of rocky desertification. From 2000 to 2010,rocky desertification sensitivity in karst areas was on the rise along with an increase in afforestation.Areas of high sensitivity were mainly distributed in Pengshui County,Wulong District, and Youyang County;Shizhu County had the lowest overall incidence of desertification.Spatial distribution of rocky desertification was significantly affected by rainfall and soil thickness.Regression analysis showed that the main factors controlling changes in rocky desertification in natural forest over time were precipitation which explained 23.73%of total variance, and soil thickness which explained 23.42%of total variance.Soil thickness and soil water content had a higher correlation coefficient(at 0.516)in natural forests than in planted forests. Conclusion:This study showed that increases in soil thickness in a karst area had a significant positive impact on the fragile ecological environment. This indicates that ecosystem restoration in karst areas will benefit from addressing soil thickness.
文摘Estimating stand transpiration of natural forests using traditional methods through up-scaling of sap fl ux density from sample trees based on stand sapwood area only is diffi cult because of the complexity of species, ages, and hierarchical structure of natural forests. To improve stand transpiration estimation,we developed an up-scaling method by considering the tree dominance eff ect based on the assumption that individual tree transpiration is aff ected by crown dominance and species,in addition to factors previously considered such as meteorological conditions, sapwood area, and soil moisture. In this study, the meteorological factors, soil moisture, and sap fl ux density of 15 sample trees of diff erent species and dominance in a natural evergreen and deciduous broadleaved mixed forest were simultaneously monitored from March 2012 to February 2014 in the Karst mountain region in southwestern China. After establishing a single tree transpiration model which considers the eff ects of dominance and species,an up-scaling method was explored to estimate stand transpiration. The results show that the transpiration intensity increased exponentially with increasing tree dominance. The contribution to annual stand transpiration from a few dominant trees(5.4%of trees, 28.2% of basal area) was up to 65.0%. Consideration of tree dominancewill signifi cantly improve stand transpiration estimationand provide a more solid basis for guiding integratedforest-water management at stand scale.

文摘Based on a large number of geological and geophysical data, the formation,fracture-caves types and hydrocarbon distribution of hoodoo-upland on the Ordovician karst slope in the Tahe area,Tarim Basin, are discussed by analyzing faults and strata thickness. The hoodoo-upland was made of high peaks and narrow valleys in the Ordovician karst slope during the Early Hercynian karst period, which were distributed along the NNE positive flower structure and had inherited evolution. The fault-fractures and fracture-vugs complex were extremely developed, with a thickness of 100 m.The cumulative oil production of 60% oil wells was more than 20×10^(4) t per well in the hoodoo-upland,where the residual thickness of the Ordovician Yingshan Formation was greater than karst depressions.Caves formed by the shelter of collapsed breccias were developed in the valleys. They were 1.6 to 13.5 m high, with a filling rate of 51.6%.The positive flower structure under the settings of strike-slip compression controlled the early formation of the hoodoo-upland on the karst slope, resulting in the differences of drainage distribution and karstification.Compared with the water-rich karst valley, the hoodoo-upland with lean water suffered weaker karstification, had thicker residual stratum, and was higher in terrain. In rainy season, the meteoric water flew and corrode along the cracks, forming a complex network of fractures and caves.Combined with inherited uplift and the effective match of the NNE deep faults, oil and gas continuously charged into the reservoir space in the upland, forming the hoodoo fracture-cave reservoir with vertically quasi continuous distribution, high hydrocarbon abundance and high production.
