Long distance buried liquid-conveying pipeline is inevitable to cross faults and under earthquake action,it is necessary to calculate fluid-structure interaction(FSI) in finite element analysis under pipe-soil interaction.Under multi-action of site,fault movement and earthquake,finite element model of buried liquid-conveying pipeline for the calculation of fluid structure interaction was constructed through combinative application of ADINA-parasolid and ADINA-native modeling methods,and the direct computing method of two-way fluid-structure coupling was introduced.The methods of solid and fluid modeling were analyzed,pipe-soil friction was defined in solid model,and special flow assumption and fluid structure interface condition were defined in fluid model.Earthquake load,gravity and displacement of fault movement were applied,also model preferences.Finite element research on the damage of buried liquid-conveying pipeline was carried out through computing fluid-structure coupling.The influences of pipe-soil friction coefficient,fault-pipe angle,and liquid density on axial stress of pipeline were analyzed,and optimum parameters were proposed for the protection of buried liquid-conveying pipeline. 展开更多

Vascular diseases such as aneurysm,hemadostenosis,aortic dissection are the primary causes of people’s death around world.As a result,it is significant to improve our knowledge about them,which can help to treat the disease.Measuring the hemodynamic factor like the blood pressure,the wall shear stress(WSS)and the oscillatory shear index(OSI)is,however,still beyond the capabilities of in-vivo measurement techniques.So the use of mathematical models and numerical simulations for the studies of the blood flow in arteries and,in general,of the cardiovascular system,both in physiological and pathological conditions,has received an increasing attention in the biomedical community during the last two decades.Indeed,such studies aims at enhancing the current knowledge of the physiology of the cardiovascular system,as well as providing reliable tools for the medical doctors to predict the natural course of pathologies and,possibly,the occurrence of cardiovascular accidents.The computational vascular fluid-structure interaction(FSI)methodology is a numerical simulation method which is used to explain the hemodynamic factors.The WSS on the luminal wall and the mechanical stress in the vascular wall are directly related to the location of the lesion,and the blood flow strongly interacts with the vascular wall motion.The arterial wall continually adapts to the charge of its mechanical environment(due to,for example,growth,atrophy,remodelling,repair,ageing,and disease)and consequently undergoes several irreversible processes.Primary acute mechanisms of vascularFSI numerical simulation seem to be associated with(1)the arterial histology and the patient-specific complex geometry,(2)the typical mechanical properties of the layer,(3)properties of the blood is assumed as Newtonian fluid or non-Newtonian fluid based on the scale ofthe diameter of a vessel,(4)residual stress in the zero-pressure configuration.The arterial system naturally function under permanent physiological loading conditions.Fung defined the residual stress and measured the opening angle which varies greatly along the aortic tree.Consequently,most of these systems never experience a stress-free state in their’service life’,so a stress and strain fields are present in any in vivo obtained patientspecific cardiovascular geometry.The residual stress always be ignored in FSI simulation or be assumed to equal zero,and the vivo patient-specific artery geometry is assumed as zero-pressure configuration.To define the in vivo stress state of artery,an inverse problem needs to be solved:the undeformed shape of a body or its stress state in its deformed state needs to be determined given the deformed configuration and the loads causing this deformation.The modular inverse elastostatics method is used to resolve the pressure-induced stress state for in vivo imaging based on cardiovascular modeling proposed by Peirlinck.Here,we build a living vessel FSI model based on 4 key factors.In order to get the universal simulation results,we focus on idealized geometries of the vessel that represent healthy(physiological)conditions of the cerebral vasculature.Blood can be assumed as the Newtonian fluid at this scale.The anisotropic hyperelastic constitutive law(Gasser-Holzapfel-Ogden)is used in zero-pressure configuration.Afterwards,we propose the material parameters for the different constitutive models and the computational configurations.We demonstrate the importance of introducing the residual stress into vascular blood flow modeling by performing a comparing zero-pressure configuration and no-resistance configuration.We get the conclusion that the zero-pressure status model has smaller displacement and larger stress distribution compared with no-resistance stress model.Hence,the methodology presented here will be particularly useful to study the mechanobiological processes in the healthy and diseased vascular wall. 展开更多

Ice-going ships play a crucial role in polar transportation and resource extraction.Different from the existing modeling approach which assumes that ships remain stationary,dynamic overset grid technology and DFBI(Dynamic Fluid-Body Interaction)method are employed in this paper to enable the free-running motion of the ship in modeling.A numerical model capable of simulating a ship navigating through pack ice area is proposed,which uses Computational Fluid Dynamics(CFD)method to solve the flow field and applies the Discrete Element Method(DEM)to simulate ship-ice and ice-ice interactions.Besides,the proposed high-precision method for generating pack ice area can be used in conjunction with the proposed numerical model.By comparing the numerical results with the available model test data and experimental observations,the effectiveness of the numerical model is validated,demonstrating its strong capability of predicting resistance and simulating ship navigation in pack ice,as well as its significant potential and applicability for further studies. 展开更多

With ongoing global warming and increasing energy demands,the CH_(4)-CO_(2)reforming reaction(dry reforming of methane,DRM)has garnered significant attention as a promising carbon capture and utilization technology.Nickel-based catalysts are renowned for their outstanding activity and selectivity in this process.The impact of metal-support interaction(MSI),on Ni-based catalyst performance has been extensively researched and debated recently.This paper reviews the recent research progress of MSI on Ni-based catalysts and their characterization and modulation strategies in catalytic reactions.From the perspective of MSI,the effects of different carriers(metal oxides,carbon materials and molecular sieves,etc.)are introduced on the dispersion and surface structure of Ni active metal particles,and the effect of MSI on the activity and stability of DRM reactions on Ni-based catalysts is discussed in detail.Future research should focus on better understanding and controlling MSI to improve the performance and durability of nickel-based catalysts in CH_(4)-CO_(2)reforming,advancing cleaner energy technologies. 展开更多

The seminal report ofα-diimine palladium and nickel catalysts in 1995 represented a major breakthrough in the preparation of functionalized polyolefin materials.Owing to the high abundance and low cost of nickel,nickel-based catalysts have great application prospects in the industrialization process of olefin coordination polymerization.In this work,various N-aryl substituents with different electronic effects were synthesized and introduced intoα-diimine ligands.The aspreparedα-diimine nickel catalysts showed high polymerization activity(0.9×10^(7)–3.0×10^(7)g·mol^(−1)·h^(−1))in ethylene polymerization,generating polyethylene products with adjustable molecular weights(Mn values:7.4×10^(4)–146.9×10^(4)g·mol^(−1))and branching densities(31/1000 C–68/1000 C).The resulting polyethylene products showed excellent mechanical properties,with high tensile strength(up to 25.0 MPa)and high strain at break values(up to 3890%).The copolymerization of ethylene and polar monomers can also be achieved by these nicekel complexes,ultimately preparing functionalized polyolefins. 展开更多

To solve the problem of risk identification and quantitative assessment for human-computer interaction(HCI)in complex avionics systems,an HCI safety analysis framework based on system-theoretical process analysis(STPA)and cognitive reliability and error analysis method(CREAM)is proposed.STPACREAM can identify unsafe control actions and find the causal path during the interaction of avionics systems and pilot with the help of formal verification tools automatically.The common performance conditions(CPC)of avionics systems in the aviation environment is established and a quantitative analysis of human failure is carried out.Taking the head-up display(HUD)system interaction process as an example,a case analysis is carried out,the layered safety control structure and formal model of the HUD interaction process are established.For the interactive behavior“Pilots approaching with HUD”,four unsafe control actions and35 causal scenarios are identified and the impact of common performance conditions at different levels on the pilot decision model are analyzed.The results show that HUD's HCI level gradually improves as the scores of CPC increase,and the quality of crew member cooperation and time sufficiency of the task is the key to its HCI.Through case analysis,it is shown that STPACREAM can quantitatively assess the hazards in HCI and identify the key factors that impact safety. 展开更多

Inducing the classic strong metal-support interaction(SMSI)is an effective approach to enhance the performance of supported metal catalysts by encapsulating the metal nanoparticles(NPs)with supports.Conventional thermal reduction method for inducing SMSI processes is often accompanied by undesirable structural evolution of metal NPs.In this study,a mild electrochemical method has been developed as a new approach to induce SMSI,using the cable structured core@shell CNT@SnO_(2) loaded Pt NPs as a proof of concept.The induced SnO_(x) encapsulation layer on the surface of Pt NPs can protect Pt NPs from the poisoned of CO impurity in hydrogen oxidation reaction(HOR),and the HOR current density could still maintain 85% for 2000 s with 10,000 ppm CO in H_(2),while the commercial Pt/C is completely inactivated.In addition,the electrons transfer from SnO_(x) to Pt NPs improved the HOR activity of the E-Pt-CNT@SnO_(2),achieving the excellent exchange current density of 1.55 A·mgPt^(-1).In situ Raman spectra and theoretical calculations show that the key to the electrochemical-method-induced SMSI is the formation of defects and the migration of SnO_(x) caused by the electrochemical redox operation,and the weakening the SneO bond strength by Pt NPs. 展开更多

In consideration of the problem that the effect of conduit structure on water hammer has been ignored in the classical theory,the Poisson coupling between the fluid and the pipeline was studied and a fourteen-equation mathematical model of fluid-structure interaction(FSI)was developed.Then,the transfer matrix method(TMM)was used to calculate the modal frequency,modal shape and frequency response.The results were compared with that in experiment to verify the correctness of the TMM and the results show that the fluid-structure coupling has a greater impact on the modal frequencies than the modal shape.Finally,the influence on the response spectrum of different damping ratios was studied and the results show that the natural frequency under different damping ratios has changed little but there is a big difference for the pressure spectrum.With the decreasing of damping ratio,the damping of the system on frequency spectrum is more and more significant and the dispersion and dissipation is more and more apparent.Therefore the appropriate damping ratio should be selected to minimize the effects of the vibration of the FSI.The results provide references for the theory research of FSI in the transient process. 展开更多

Spin-orbit optical phenomena pertain to the wider class of electromagnetic effects originating from the interaction of the photon spin with the spatial structure and propagation characteristics of an optical wave,mediated by suitable optical media.There are many emerging photonic applications of spin-orbit interactions(SOI)of light,such as control of the optical wave propagation via the spin,enhanced optical manipulation,and generation of structured optical fields.Unfortunately,current applications are based on symmetric SOI,that is,the behaviours of polarized photons with two opposite spins are opposite,leading to the limit of spin-based multiplexers.The symmetry of SOI can be broken in our proposed metasurfaces,consisting of spatially varying birefringence,which can arbitrarily and independently build SOI for two opposite spins without reduction of optical energy usage.We obtain three kinds of dual-functional metasurfaces at visible and infrared wavelengths with high efficiency.Our concept of generation of asymmetric SOI for two spins,using anisotropic metasurfaces,will open new degrees of freedoms for building new types of spin-controlled multifunctional shared-aperture devices for the generation of complex structured optical fields. 展开更多

Taking into consideration the gas compressibility and chemical reaction reversibility, a model was developed to study the interactions between gas flow and chemical reaction in porous media and resolved by the finite volume method on the basis of the gas-solid reaction aA(g)+bB(s)cC(g)+dD(s).The numerical analysis shows that the equilibrium constant is an important factor influencing the process of gas-solid reaction. The stoichiometric coefficients, molar masses of reactant gas, product gas and inert gas are the main factors influencing the density of gas mixture. The equilibrium constant influences the gas flow in porous media obviously when the stoichiometric coefficients satisfy a/c≠1. 展开更多

Energy equation of a reagent interacting with mineral surface has been deduced from this model. Results of the studies indicate that the interaction energy between mineral surface and a reagent is about several dozen kJ/mol, and the relationship between adsorbing concentration of xanthate on mineral surface and interaction energy is the exponent form. 展开更多

In order to implement cost-effective machining of gr anite materials with diamond impregnated tools, we should realize low tool w ear, low energy consumption, and high cutting efficiency, while the accuracy of the workpiece surfaces are maintained to be satisfactory. It is understood that the main factors affecting the tool wear, the energy, and the efficiency during the machining process are related to the tribological interactions that occur at the interface between the diamond tool surface and the workpiece. Based on this consideration, we propose a new machining method to machine granite materia ls to achieve improved cost effectiveness. In the proposed method, the tribologi cal interactions are maintained to a minimum. Based on the analyses of the experimental results, the following conclusions can be drawn: The wear performance is greatly dependent on the machining parameters and their combination. Therefore, optimum machining parameters must be set up at first in order to optimize the tribological characteristics of segments and thereby sawbl ade performance. These may be realized by balancing the energy expended by frict ion and the mechanical load on diamond crystal. The geometry and structure of diamond segments are another important criterion f or the diamond saw blade. Using a seven-layer structure for multi-blades sawin g and applying segments with side slots for trimming application had greatly red uced the frictions in the sawing processes. The wetting and bonding between diamonds and matrix alloys have been considered as the prerequisite for high wear performance of the segments. Diamonds coated w ith Ti-Cr alloy by a unique technique can effectively improve its wetting c apability and provide more storage space for debris, thereby reducing friction i nteractions. 展开更多
