The process is divided into three phases: the concept design phase, the model phase and the optimization phase. In each phase, different parameter targets have to be fulfilled. According to three phases, a deployable/retractable mast composed of four right triangle prism modules in the longitudinal direction is designed. It can be deployed and folded simultaneously by the linear movements of sleeve-joints. The deployable and retractable movement of the mast is analyzed and key joint forms are designed. Then bar diameters and joint forms are modified based on mast structural mechanics characteristics in the optimization phase. Finally a 1:1 scaled model mast is built to verify the design and the optimization. Analytical results show that the model mast has the advantages of simple locking mechanism, fewer types of joints and bars, so it can be easily manufactured.展开更多

Sensor node deployment affects the performances of WSNs. In our study, a chain-type wireless underground mine sensor network (CWUMSN) is first pre- sented. A CWUMSN can monitor the environment and locate miners in underground mines. The lowest density deployment strate- gies of cluster head nodes are discussed theoretically. We prove that the lifetime of CWUMSN with a non-uniform deployment strategy is longer than with a uniform deployment strategy. Secondly, we present the algorithm of non-uniform lowest density de- ployment of cluster head nodes. Our experiments of CWUMSN with both non-uniform lowest density and uniform lowest den- sity deployments are simulated. Our experiments of CWUMSN with both non-uniform lowest density and uniform lowest den- sity deployments are simulated. The results show that the lifetime of CWUMSN with non-uniform lowest density deployment is almost 2.5 times as long as that of the uniform lowest density deployment. This work provides a new deployment strategy for wire- less underground mine sensor networks and then effectively promotes the application of wireless sensor networks to underground mines.

文摘Due to its high mobility and flexible deployment, unmanned aerial vehicle(UAV)is drawing unprecedented interest in both military and civil applications to enable agile and ubiquitous connectivity.Mainly operating in an open environment,UAV communications benefit from dominant line-of-sight links;however, this on the other hand renders the communications more vulnerable to malicious attacks.Recently, physical layer security(PLS)has been introduced to UAV systems as an important complement to the conventional cryptography-based approaches. In this paper,a comprehensive survey on the current achievements of UAV-PLS is conducted. We first introduce the basic concepts including typical static/-mobile UAV deployment scenarios, the unique air-toground channel and aerial nodes distribution models,as well as various roles that a UAV may act when PLS is concerned. Then,we start by reviewing the secrecy performance analysis and enhancing techniques for statically deployed UAV systems, and extend the discussion to the more general scenario where the UAVs’mobility is further exploited. For both cases, respectively,we summarize the commonly adopted methodologies, then describe important works in the litera ture in detail. Finally, potential research directions and challenges are discussed to provide an outlook for future works in the area of UAV-PLS.

文摘Background:The impact of sleep disorders on active-duty soldiers’medical readiness is not currently quantified.Patient data generated at military treatment facilities can be accessed to create research reports and thus can be used to estimate the prevalence of sleep disturbances and the role of sleep on overall health in service members. The current study aimed to quantify sleep-related health issues and their impact on health and nondeployability through the analysis of U.S.military healthcare records from fiscal year 2018(FY2018).Methods:Medical diagnosis information and deployability profiles(e-Profiles)were queried for all active-duty U.S.Army patients with a concurrent sleep disorder diagnosis receiving medical care within FY2018.Nondeployability was predicted from medical reasons for having an e-Profile(categorized as sleep, behavioral health, musculoskeletal, cardiometabolic, injury,or accident)using binomial logistic regression.Sleep e-Profiles were investigated as a moderator between other e-Profile categories and nondeployability. Results:Out of 582,031 soldiers,48.4%(n=281,738)had a sleep-related diagnosis in their healthcare records,9.7%(n=56,247)of soldiers had e-Profiles,and 1.9%(n=10,885)had a sleep e-Profile.Soldiers with sleep e-Profiles were more likely to have had a motor vehicle accident(p OR(prevalence odds ratio)=4.7,95%CI 2.63–8.39,P≤0.001)or work/duty-related injury(p OR=1.6,95%CI 1.32–1.94,P≤0.001).The likelihood of nondeployability was greater in soldiers with a sleep e-Profile and a musculoskeletal e-Profile(p OR=4.25,95%CI 3.75–4.81,P≤0.001)or work/dutyrelated injury(p OR=2.62,95%CI 1.63–4.21,P≤0.001).Conclusion:Nearly half of soldiers had a sleep disorder or sleep-related medical diagnosis in 2018,but their sleep problems are largely not profiled as limitations to medical readiness.Musculoskeletal issues and physical injury predict nondeployability, and nondeployability is more likely to occur in soldiers who have sleep e-Profiles in addition to these issues.Addressing sleep problems may prevent accidents and injuries that could render a soldier nondeployable.

文摘As a viable component of 6G wireless communication architecture,satellite-terrestrial networks support efficient file delivery by leveraging the innate broadcast ability of satellite and the enhanced powerful file transmission approaches of multi-tier terrestrial networks. In the paper,we introduce edge computing technology into the satellite-terrestrial network and propose a partition-based cache and delivery strategy to make full use of the integrated resources and reducing the backhaul load.Focusing on the interference effect from varied nodes in different geographical distances,we derive the file successful transmission probability of the typical user and by utilizing the tool of stochastic geometry.Considering the constraint of nodes cache space and file sets parameters,we propose a near-optimal partition-based cache and delivery strategy by optimizing the asymptotic successful transmission probability of the typical user. The complex nonlinear programming problem is settled by jointly utilizing standard particle-based swarm optimization(PSO)method and greedy based multiple knapsack choice problem(MKCP)optimization method.Numerical results show that compared with the terrestrial only cache strategy,Ground Popular Strategy,Satellite Popular Strategy, and Independent and identically distributed popularity strategy, the performance of the proposed scheme improve by 30.5%,9.3%,12.5%and 13.7%.

文摘Previous research on deep-space networks based on delay-tolerant networking(DTN)has mainly focused on the performance of DTN protocols in simple networks;hence, research on complex networks is lacking. In this paper,we focus on network evaluation and protocol deployment for complex DTNbased deep-space networks and apply the results to a novel complex deep-space network based on the Universal Interplanetary Communication Network(UNICON-CDSN)proposed by the National Space Science Center(NSSC)for simulation and verification.A network evaluation method based on network capacity and memory analysis is proposed.Based on a performance comparison between the Licklider Transmission Protocol(LTP)and the Transmission Control Protocol(TCP)with the Bundle Protocol(BP)in various communication scenarios,a transport protocol configuration proposal is developed and used to construct an LTP deployment scheme for UNICON-CDSN.For the LTP deployment scheme,a theoretical model of file delivery time over complex deep-space networks is built.A network evaluation with the method proposed in this paper proves that UNICONCDSN satisfies the requirements for the 2020 Mars exploration mission Curiosity. Moreover, simulation results from a universal space communication network testbed(USCNT)designed by us show that the LTP deployment scheme is suitable for UNICON-CDSN.

文摘A complete study for the implementation of wireless sensor networks in the intelligent building is presented. We carry out some experiments to find out the factors affecting the network performance. Several vital parameters which are related to the link quality are measured before deploying the actual system. And then, we propose an optimized routing protocol based on the analysis of the test data. We evaluate the deployment strategies to ensure the excellent performance of the wireless sensor networks under the real working conditions. And the evaluation results show that the presented system could satisfy the requirements of the applications in the intelligent building.
文摘Quality function deployment (QFD) is a quality system, that can help to design novel products that meet customers' needs. Theory of inventive problem solving (TRIZ) is a very powerful tool in helping to solve difficult technical problems encountered in the design process. Introducing QFD and TRIZ into the conceptual design of the pumping unit combines advantages of these two theories, therefore meeting different demands of different users. It can tell us “What should we do it” with QFD and “How should we do it” with TRIZ. The conceptual design method, which is based on QFD and TRIZ, is introduced andused to analyze and evaluate the conceptual design project of a pumping unit.
