Namely, the number of training samples in the userdefined sphere is calculated and taken as the confidence measure, according to which the training samples are ranked in ascending order. Those former ranked ones are selected as the boundary targets for the SVDD training. Simulations on UCI data demonstrate the effectiveness and superiority of CSVDD: the number of training targets and the training time are reduced without any loss of accuracy.展开更多

The maximum likelihood (ML) method is used to estimate the parameters of the CSPALT model. The performance of ML estimators is investigated via their mean square error. Also, the average confidence interval length (IL) and the associated co- verage probability (CP) are obtained. Moreover, optimum CSPALT plans that determine the optimal proportion of the test units al- located to each stress are developed. Such optimum test plans minimize the generalized asymptotic variance (GAV) of the ML estimators of the model parameters. The algorithm can mine the association rules with decision attributes directly without processing missing values. Using the incomplete dataset Mushroom from UCI machine learning repository, the new algorithm was compared with the classical association rules mining algorithm based on Apriori from the number of rules extracted, testing accuracy and execution time. The experiment results show that the new algorithm has advantages of short execution time and high accuracy.展开更多

However, related studies on the lead smelting industries which usually have a huge energy consumption are ...The pre-warning of abnormal energy consumption is important for energy conservation of industrial engineering. However, related studies on the lead smelting industries which usually have a huge energy consumption are rarely reported. Therefore, a pre-warning system was established in this study based on the intelligent prediction of energy consumption and the identification of abnormal energy consumption. A least square support vector regression (LSSVR) model optimized by the adaptive genetic algorithm was developed to predict the energy consumption in the process of lead smelting. A recurrence plots (RP) analysis and a confidence intervals (CI) analysis were conducted to quantitatively confirm the stationary degree of energy consumption and the normal range of energy consumption, respectively, to realize the identification of abnormal energy consumption. It is found the prediction accuracy of LSSVR model can exceed 90% based on the comparison between the actual and predicted data. The energy consumption is considered to be non-stationary if the correlation coefficient between the time series of periodicity and energy consumption is larger than that between the time series of periodicity and Lorenz. Additionally, the lower limit and upper limit of normal energy consumption are obtained.展开更多

The concept of generalized confidence interval (GCI) was introduced to build CIs of parameters under multiply type-I censoring. Further, GCI based on LSE and GCI based on MLE were proposed. It is mathematically proved that the former is exact and the latter is approximate. Besides, a Monte Carlo simulation study and an illustrative example also Ran out that the GCI method based on LSE yields rather satisfactory results by comparison with the ones based on MLE. It should be clear that the GCI method is a sensible choice to evaluate reliability under multiply type-I censoring.展开更多

By comparing the obtained confidence interval with the corresponding accept interval, the concept of similarity coefficient of simulation signals is given. By making a statistical analysis for similarity coefficient, the uniformity information of simulation signals is extracted, and the fuzzy number which expresses the fuzzy uniformity level of simu- lation signals is obtained. The analysis method on fuzzy uniformity of simulation underwater acoustic signals is presented. It is indi- cated by the application in simulation of target radiated-noises that the method is suitable and effectual for the simulation research on underwater acoustic signals, and the analysis result may provide support for decision-making relative to perfecting simulation sys- tems and applying simulation signals.展开更多

The relative abilities of several chelating agents to act as antagonists for acute and chronic lead poisoning have been examined in the mouse.The acute LD<sub>50</sub> for lead acetate trihydrate was deter...The relative abilities of several chelating agents to act as antagonists for acute and chronic lead poisoning have been examined in the mouse.The acute LD<sub>50</sub> for lead acetate trihydrate was determined and found to be 135.3 mg Pb/kg for i. p. injection with a 95% confidence interval of 87.1 to 210.3 mg Pb/kg. The relative efficacy of chelating agents to reduce liver,kidney, spleen, bone and brain levels of lead was determined. The spleen levels were found to undergo little differences between the control and treated groups, but the liver, kidney, bone and brain levels showed significant differences in some cases. Of the compounds examind, meso-2, 3-dimercaptosuccinic acid (DMSA)and sodium 2,3-dimercaptopropane-1-sulfonate(DMPS) were as effective as disodium calcium ethylenediaminetetraacetate (Na<sub>2</sub>CaEDT A). The resuits indicated that DMSA was a promising chelating agent and may be worthy of further investigation in the clinic.展开更多

A lot of work focuses on the study of how well the empirical datafits Yule-Simon distribution or how to estimate the parameter. There are still some open problems,such as the error analysis of parameter estimation, the theoretical proof of the convergence of theiterative algorithm for maximum likelihood estimation of parameters. The Yule-Simon distributionis a heavy-tailed distribution and the parameter is usually less than 2, so the variance does notexist. This makes it difficult to give an interval estimation of the parameter. Using the compressiontransformation, this paper proposes a method of interval estimation based on the centrallimit theorem. This method can be applied to many heavy-tailed distributions. The other twoasymptotic confidence intervals of the parameter are obtained based on the maximum likelihoodand the mode method. These estimation methods are compared in simulations and applications toempirical data.展开更多
