For WHA rod penetrating PMMA at 2 km/s <V <5 km/s, the compressibility has a significant effect on the penetration efficiency. We clarify how compressibility affects the penetration efficiency by changing the stagnation pressures of the rod and target. For WHA rod penetrating 4340 Steel and 6061-T6 Al at 2 km/s < V < 10 km/s, the effect of strength is strong and the effect of compressibility is negligible at lower impact velocity, whilst the effect of strength is weak and the effect of compressibility becomes stronger at higher impact velocity. For the copper jet penetrating 4030 Steel, 6061-T6 Al and PMMA. the virtual origin model is adopted, and the compressibility and strength are implicitly considered by the linear relation between the penetration velocity and impact velocity. The effects of compressibility and target resistance on penetration efficiency are studied. The results show that the target resistance has a significant effect on the penetration efficiency. Howver PMMA is much more compressible than copper and the huge difference of compressibility has a significant effect on the penetration by hypervelocity copper jet into PMMA.展开更多

The specimens include cube specimens and prism specimens with height to width ratio of 2. The experiment results show that size effect exists in the cubic compressive strength and prismatic compressive strength of the cement paste, and larger specimens resist less in terms of strength than smaller ones. The cubic compressive strength and the prismatic compressive strength of the specimens with side length of 200 mm are respectively about 91% and 89% of the compressive strength of the specimens with the side length of 40 mm. Water to binder ratio has a significant influence on the size effect of the compressive strengths of the cement paste. With a decrease in the water to binder ratio, the size effect is significantly enhanced. When the water to binder ratio is 0.2, the size effects of the cubic compressive strength and the prismatic compressive strength of the cement paste are 1.6 and 1.4 times stronger than those of a water to binder ratio of 0.6. Furthermore, a series of formulas are proposed to calculate the size effect of the cubic compressive strength and the prismatic compressive strength of cement paste, and the results of the size effect predicted by the formulas are in good agreement with the experiment results.展开更多

This study presents an underwater acoustic data compression method that is based on compressed sensing. Underwater acoustic signals are transformed into the sparse domain for data storage at a receiving terminal, and the improved orthogonal matching pursuit(IOMP) algorithm is used to reconstruct the original underwater acoustic signals at a data processing terminal. When an increase in sidelobe level occasionally causes a direction of arrival estimation error, the proposed compression method can achieve a 10 times stronger compression for narrowband signals and a 5 times stronger compression for wideband signals than the orthogonal matching pursuit(OMP) algorithm. The IOMP algorithm also reduces the computing time by about 20% more than the original OMP algorithm. The simulation and experimental results are discussed.展开更多

A parallel coded aperture compressive imaging system and a corresponding motion target detection algorithm in video using compressive image data are developed. Coded masks with random Gaussian, Toeplitz and random binary are utilized to simulate the compressive image respectively. For compressive images, a mixture of the Gaussian distribution is applied to the compressed image field to model the background. A simple threshold test in compressive sampling image is used to declare motion objects. Foreground image retrieval from underdetermined measurement using the total variance optimization algorithm is explored. The signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) is employed to evaluate the image quality recovered from the compressive sampling signals, and receiver operation characteristic (ROC) curves are used to quantify the performance of the motion detection algorithm. Experimental results demonstrate that the low dimensional compressed imaging representation is sufficient to determine spatial motion targets. Compared with the random Gaussian and Toeplitz mask, motion detection algorithms using the random binary phase mask can yield better detection results. However using the random Gaussian and Toeplitz phase mask can achieve high resolution reconstructed images.展开更多

Because the theory is based on the assumption of that the location of sparse values is unknown, it has many constraints in practical applications. In fact, in many cases such as image processing, the location of sparse values is knowable, and CS can degrade to a linear process. In order to take full advantage of the visual information of images, this paper proposes the concept of dimensionality reduction transform matrix and then se- lects sparse values by constructing an accuracy control matrix, so on this basis, a degradation algorithm is designed that the signal can be obtained by the measurements as many as sparse values and reconstructed through a linear process. In comparison with similar methods, the degradation algorithm is effective in reducing the number of sensors and improving operational efficiency. The algorithm is also used to achieve the CS process with the same amount of data as joint photographic exports group (JPEG) compression and acquires the same display effect.展开更多

However, the theory of consolidation, which can account for both the geometrical nonlinearity and the non-Darcian flow, has not been reported so far. In this contribution, a model for the consolidation of soft clay which can allow for these two factors simultaneously is proposed. Utilizing the finite difference method, the numerical model for this problem is developed. With the numerical model, the effects of the geometrical nonlinearity and the non-Darcian flow on the consolidation of the soft soil are investigated. The results show that when the self-weight stress is calculated by the same method, the rate of the non-Darcian consolidation for the large-strain case is larger than that for the small-strain case, but the difference between them is limited. However, the difference between the consolidation rates caused by the non-Darcian and Darcian flows is significant. Therefore, when the geometrical nonlinearity of the soft clay is considered in calculating the consolidation settlement, due to the complexity of the large-strain assumption, the small-strain assumption can be used to replace it if the self-weight stress for the small-strain assumption is calculated by considering its sedimentation. However, due to the aforementioned large difference between the consolidation rates with consideration of the non-Darcian flow in soft clay or not, it is better to consider the non-Darcian flow law for both the small and large stain assumptions.展开更多

The ultimate axial compression capacity and the initial axial stiffness of all kinds of joints increase as β increases, and the initial axial stiffness of the diamond bird beak SHS T-joints is the largest. The ductilities of common bird beak and diamond bird beak SHS T-joints increase as β increases, but the ductility of the traditional SHS T-joints decreases as β increases.

文摘The approximate compressible model is adopted to study the effects of strength and compressibility on the penetration by WHA long rod and copper jet into semi-infinite target in detail. Howver PMMA is much more compressible than copper and the huge difference of compressibility has a significant effect on the penetration by hypervelocity copper jet into PMMA.
文摘Media based modulation(MBM)is expected to be a prominent modulation scheme, which has access to the high data rate by using radio frequency(RF)mirrors and fewer transmit antennas.Associated with multiuser multiple input multiple output(MIMO),the MBM scheme achieves better performance than other conventional multiuser MIMO schemes. In this paper, the massive MIMO uplink is considered and a conjunctive MBM transmission scheme for each user is employed. This conjunctive MBM transmission scheme gathers aggregate MBM signals in multiple continuous time slots, which exploits the structured sparsity of these aggregate MBM signals.Under this kind of scenario,a multiuser detector with low complexity based on the compressive sensing(CS)theory to gain better detection performance is proposed. This detector is developed from the greedy sparse recovery technique compressive sampling matching pursuit(CoSaMP)and exploits not only the inherently distributed sparsity of MBM signals but also the structured sparsity of multiple aggregate MBM signals.By exploiting these sparsity, the proposed CoSaMP based multiuser detector achieves reliable detection with low complexity.Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed CoSaMP based multiuser detector achieves better detection performance compared with the conventional methods.
文摘Compressive sensing is a revolutionary idea proposed recently to achieve much lower sampling rate for signals. In the image application with limited resources the camera data can be stored and processed in compressed form.An algorithm for moving object and region detection in video using a compressive sampling is developed. The algorithm estimates motion information of the moving object and regions in the video from the compressive measurements of the current image and background scene. The algorithm does not perform inverse compressive operation to obtain the actual pixels of the current image nor the estimated background. This leads to a computationally efficient method and a system compared with the existing motion estimation methods. The experimental results show that the sampling rate can reduce to 25% without sacrificing performance.

文摘A series of compression tests were conducted on 150 groups of cement paste specimens with side lengths ranging from 40 mm to 200 mm. Furthermore, a series of formulas are proposed to calculate the size effect of the cubic compressive strength and the prismatic compressive strength of cement paste, and the results of the size effect predicted by the formulas are in good agreement with the experiment results.

文摘The use of underwater acoustic data has rapidly expanded with the application of multichannel, large-aperture underwater detection arrays. The simulation and experimental results are discussed.

文摘This paper proposes an application of compressive imaging systems to the problem of wide-area video surveillance systems. However using the random Gaussian and Toeplitz phase mask can achieve high resolution reconstructed images.

文摘The compressive sensing (CS) theory allows people to obtain signal in the frequency much lower than the requested one of sampling theorem. The algorithm is also used to achieve the CS process with the same amount of data as joint photographic exports group (JPEG) compression and acquires the same display effect.

文摘Geometrical nonlinearity of the soft soil and the deviation of water flow in the soft clay from Darcy's law have been well recognized in practice. However, due to the aforementioned large difference between the consolidation rates with consideration of the non-Darcian flow in soft clay or not, it is better to consider the non-Darcian flow law for both the small and large stain assumptions.

文摘The object of this article is to investigate the energy evolution mechanism and failure criteria of cross-jointed samples containing an opening during deformation and failure based on the uniaxial compression test and rock energy principle. The results show that the energy evolution characteristics of the samples correspond to a typical progressive damage mode. The peak total energy, peak elastic energy, and total input energy of the samples all first decrease and then increase with an increase of half of the included angle, reaching their minimum values when this angle is 45°,while the dissipated energy generally increases with this angle. The existence of the opening and cross joints can obviously weaken the energy storage capacity of the rock, and the change in the included angle of the cross joint has a great influence on the elastic energy ratio of the sample before the peak stress, which leads to some differences in the distribution laws of the input energy. The continuous change and the subsequent sharp change in the rate of change in the energy consumption ratio can be used as the criteria of the crack initiation and propagation and the unstable failure of the sample, respectively.

文摘Traditional mechanical rock breaking method is labor-intensive and low-efficient,which restrictes the development of deep resources and deep space. As a new rock-breakage technology, microwave irradiation is expected to overcome these problems. This study examines the failure characteristics, weakening law,and breakdown mechanism of deep sandstone(depth=1050 m)samples in a microwave field. The macroscopic and microscopic properties were determined via mechanical tests, mesoscopic tests, and numerical simulations.Microwave application at 1000 W for 60 s reduced the uniaxial compressive strength of the sandstone by 50%.Thermal stress of the sandstone was enhanced by uneven expansion of minerals at the microscale. Moreover, the melting of some minerals in the high-temperature environment changed the pore structure, sharply reducing the macroscopic strength. The temperature remained high in the lower midsection of the sample, and the stress was concentrated at the bottom of the sample and along its axis. These results are expected to improve the efficiency of deep rock breaking, provide theoretical and technical support for similar rock-breakage projects, and accelerate advances in deep-Earth science.

文摘To study the energy storage and dissipation characteristics of deep rock under two-dimensional compression with constant confining pressure, the single cyclic loading-unloading two-dimensional compression tests were performed on granite specimens with two height-to-width(H/W)ratios under five confining pressures.Three energy density parameters(input energy density, elastic energy density and dissipated energy density)in the axial and lateral directions of granite specimens under different confining pressures were calculated using the area integral method. The experimental results show that, for the specimens with a specific H/W ratio, these three energy density parameters in the axial and lateral directions increase nonlinearly with the confining pressure as quadratic polynomial functions.Under constant confining pressure compression, the linear energy storage law of granite specimens in the axial and lateral directions was founded.Using the linear energy storage law in different directions, the elastic energy density in various directions(axial elastic energy density, lateral elastic energy density and total elastic energy density)of granite under any specific confining pressures can be calculated. When the H/W ratio varies from 1:1 to 2:1,the lateral compression energy storage coefficient increases and the corresponding axial compression energy storage coefficient decreases, while the total compression energy storage coefficient is almost independent of the H/W ratio.
文摘For understanding the damage and failure rule of rock under different uniaxial compressive loads and dynamic loads, tests on red sandstone were carried out on Instron 1342 electro-servo controlled testing system with different uniaxial compressive loads of 0, 2, 4 and 6 MPa. It is found that peak stress, peak strain, elastic modulus and total strain energy decrease with the increase of static compressive stress. Based on the test results, the mechanism on damage and failure of rock was analyzed, and according to the equivalent strain hypothesis, a new constitutive model of elastic-plastic damage was established, and then the calculated results with the established model were compared with test results to show a good agreement. Furthermore the rule of releasing ratio of damage strain energy was discussed.
