雷达信号分选是电子战系统中的关键技术,是战场态势感知的重要环节,新体制雷达技术的快速发展给复杂电磁环境下信号分选带来了严峻挑战。针对传统K-means聚类算法在对雷达全脉冲数据进行信号分选时存在对聚类数K和初始点选择较为敏感的... 雷达信号分选是电子战系统中的关键技术,是战场态势感知的重要环节,新体制雷达技术的快速发展给复杂电磁环境下信号分选带来了严峻挑战。针对传统K-means聚类算法在对雷达全脉冲数据进行信号分选时存在对聚类数K和初始点选择较为敏感的问题,提出了一种基于优化K-means的雷达信号分选算法。通过将水波中心扩散(water wave center diffusion,WWCD)优化算法和Canopy算法相结合,实现了Canopy算法距离阈值的优选,并为后续K-means聚类优化了K值的选择,有效降低了K-means算法对初始聚类数选择的敏感性。实验中,主要通过3个UCI公开数据集和3类频率跳变雷达脉冲数据进行聚类分选效果验证,并与常见的DBSCAN、OPTICS、Canopy-K-means等聚类算法进行了聚类效果对比。结果表明,所提方法有较高的聚类分选准确率,且对初始参数的设置不敏感。 展开更多

针对k-means聚类算法在大跨屋盖结构表面风荷载分区计算中,聚类数k值随机选取容易导致结果不稳定和计算效率低等问题,提出改进的Canopy-k-means聚类算法。首先,引入Canopy算法并对其初始阈值和聚类中心的选取方式进行改进,减少初始值选... 针对k-means聚类算法在大跨屋盖结构表面风荷载分区计算中,聚类数k值随机选取容易导致结果不稳定和计算效率低等问题,提出改进的Canopy-k-means聚类算法。首先,引入Canopy算法并对其初始阈值和聚类中心的选取方式进行改进,减少初始值选取的盲目性,以提高风荷载分区结果的可靠性;其次,通过改进Canopy算法对风荷载数据集进行预处理,快速准确地确定聚类数k值;第三,将改进Canopy算法与k-means结合使用,实现最优分类数k值的精准识别,使得改进的Canopy-k-means聚类算法进行大跨屋盖结构表面风荷载分区时能够快速准确地得到分区结果;最后,以一大跨柱面屋盖干煤棚结构为例,基于风洞试验所得结构表面风荷载数据测试结果,采用所提改进的Canopy-k-means聚类算法对其表面风荷载进行分区计算。结果表明,采用改进的Canopy-k-means聚类算法,将0°、50°和90°风向角时大跨屋盖表面风荷载划分为了3个不同的分区,其对应的SD值分别为2.36、3.51和2.52,较传统k-means聚类算法所得对应值明显降低,类内紧凑性和类间分散性明显提升。所提改进Canopy-k-means聚类算法能够快速准确地得到最优分区结果,对大跨屋盖表面风荷载分区具有工程参考价值。 展开更多

Drought events influence nutrient canopy exchanges and green leaf partitioning during senescence in a deciduous forest

The increase in the frequency and intensity of drought events expected in the coming decades in Western Europe may disturb forest biogeochemical cycles and create nutrient deficiencies in trees.One possible origin of nutrient deficiency is the disturbance of the partitioning of the green leaf pool during the leaf senescence period between resorption,foliar leaching and senesced leaves.However,the effects of drought events on this partitioning and the consequences for the maintenance of tree nutrition are poorly documented.An experiment in a beech forest in Meuse(France)was conducted to assess the effect of drought events on nutrient canopy exchanges and on the partitioning of the green leaf pool during the leaf senescence period.The aim was to identify potential nutritional consequences of droughts for trees.Monitoring nutrient dynamics,including resorption,chemistry of green and senesced leaves,foliar absorption and leaching in mature beech stands from 2012 to 2019 allowed us to compare the nutrient exchanges for three nondry and three dry years(i.e.,with an intense drought event during the growing season).During dry years,we observed a decrease by almost a third of the potassium(K)partitioning to resorption(i.e.resorption efficiency),thus reducing the K reserve in trees for the next growing season.This result suggests that with the increased drought frequency and intensity expected for the coming decades,there will be a risk of potassium deficiency in trees,as already observed in a rainfall exclusion experiment on the same study site.Reduced foliar leaching and higher parititioning to the senesced leaves for K and phosphorus(P)were also observed.In addition,a slight increase in nitrogen(N)resorption efficiency occurred during dry years which is more likely to improve tree nutrition.The calcium(Ca)negative resorption decreased,with no apparent consequence in our study site.Our results show that nutrient exchanges in the canopy and the partitioning of the green leaf pool can be modified by drought events,and may have consequences on tree nutrition. 展开更多

Crop water stress index(CWSI)is widely used for efficient irrigation management.Precise canopy temperature(T_(c))measurement is necessary to derive a reliable CWSI.The objective of this research was to investigate the influences of atmospheric conditions,settled height,view angle of infrared thermography,and investigating time of temperature measuring on the performance of the CWSI.Three irrigation treatments were used to create different soil water conditions during the 2020-2021 and 2021-2022 winter wheat-growing seasons.The CWSI was calculated using the CWSI-E(an empirical approach)and CWSI-T(a theoretical approach)based on the T_(c).Weather conditions were recorded continuously throughout the experimental period.The results showed that atmospheric conditions influenced the estimation of the CWSI;when the vapor pressure deficit(VPD)was>2000 Pa,the estimated CWSI was related to soil water conditions.The height of the installed infrared thermograph influenced the T_(c)values,and the differences among the T_(c)values measured at height of 3,5,and 10 m was smaller in the afternoon than in the morning.However,the lens of the thermometer facing south recorded a higher T_(c)than those facing east or north,especially at a low height,indicating that the direction of the thermometer had a significant influence on T_(c).There was a large variation in CWSI derived at different times of the day,and the midday measurements(12:00-15:00)were the most reliable for estimating CWSI.Negative linear relationships were found between the transpiration rate and CWSI-E(R^(2)of 0.3646-0.5725)and CWSI-T(R^(2)of 0.5407-0.7213).The relations between fraction of available soil water(FASW)with CWSI-T was higher than that with CWSI-E,indicating CWSI-T was more accurate for predicting crop water status.In addition,The R^(2)between CWSI-T and FASW at 14:00 was higher than that at other times,indicating that 14:00 was the optimal time for using the CWSI for crop water status monitoring.Relative higher yield of winter wheat was obtained with average seasonal values of CWSI-E and CWSI-T around 0.23 and 0.25-0.26,respectively.The CWSI-E values were more easily influenced by meteorological factors and the timing of the measurements,and using the theoretical approach to derive the CWSI was recommended for precise irrigation water management. 展开更多

Forest canopy structure is closely related to species diversity,crown packing efficiency,and ecological processes,while influencing ecosystem functions.However,most existing structural diversity indices only consider internal heterogeneity within the canopy but often neglect the heterogeneity of the external canopy.While,the external canopy heterogeneity can increase the exchange surface area between canopy and external atmosphere,capture more light,which is closely linked to tree growth and ecosystem functions.Comprehensively and accurately estimating canopy structural diversity is crucial in understanding the underlying mechanisms of productivity change.Therefore,in this study,we apply a topographic index–canopy surface rugosity(CSR)–to capture canopy external heterogeneity,and use crown complementary index(CCI)and other canopy structural variables to quantify canopy internal heterogeneity.We find that CSR varies significantly among quadrats(20 m×20 m)and it decreases with species diversity and wood net primary productivity(NPP_(wood)).Species diversity increases NPP_(wood) directly and indirectly through CSR and CCI.Functional diversity increases NPP_(wood) through CSR and CCI.Community weighted mean of light demand decreases with NPP_(wood) through CCI.The mediating effect of CSR on the relationship between species(functional)diversity and NPP_(wood) is greater than the mediating effect of CCI.We find soil fertility positive effects on NPP_(wood) mainly through species richness and CSR.Conversely,water availability affects NPP_(wood) by a direct positive effect and indirect negative effects through species richness,CSR and CCI.Overall,our CSR and CCI provide strong support for a space-based niche partitioning mechanism regulating the relationship between species diversity and NPP_(wood).Additionally,CSR is sensitive to gap dynamics,suggesting mechanistic relationships between local disturbance,species diversity,and NPP_(wood). 展开更多

Nowadays,in order to expand the roof view to bring passengers closer to nature,more and more new energy vehicles are opting for canopy designs without sunshades.However,after removing traditional sunshades,new solutions must be sought to address issues such as heat insulation,glaring sunlight,and interior reflections from the roof glass during the summer months.This paper conducts an in-depth analysis of the technical advantages and shortcomings of sunshade-free canopy in terms of heat insulation and interior reflections during summer,from both theoretical analysis and experimental comparison perspectives,and proposes improvement strategies.The research results indicate that although the panoramic roof enhances the vehicle's interior view and technological appeal,it still has shortcomings in terms of heat insulation and the problem of interior reflections caused by direct sunlight.The proposed improvement strategies can effectively mitigate these issues,and offers consumers more comfortable and intelligent driving experiences. 展开更多

The precipitation distribution quantity of canopy in broadleaved/Korean pine forest was measured during the growing season (Jun.–Sept.) in 2001 in the Changbai Mountain, Jilin Province, P. R. China. Results indicated that the amounts of stemflow, throughfall, and interception were 37.39, 322.12 and 109.69 mm, accounting for 7.97%, 68.65% and 23.38% of the total rainfall, respectively. The rate of stemflow was higher in Jul. and Aug. than other months. The rate of throughfall dropped off from Jun. to Sept., however, rate of interception changed contrarily from 19.43% to 31.02% during the growing season. According to our analysis, the concentration of nutrient elements were arranged as Ca>Mg>N>K>Fe>P>Cu>Mn for rainfall, K>N>Mg>Ca>P>Fe>Mn>Cu for throughfall, and Mn>P>K>Cu>Fe>N>Mg>Ca for being leached through canopy. Nutrients concentration in stewflow and throughfall changed significantly when rainfall passed canopy, and concentration of all elements increased except for Ca and Mg. 展开更多

Background:Current automated forest investigation is facing a dilemma over how to achieve high tree-and plotlevel completeness while maintaining a high cost and labor efficiency.This study tackles the challenge by exploring a new concept that enables an efficient fusion of aerial and terrestrial perspectives for digitizing and characterizing individual trees in forests through an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle(UAV)that flies above and under canopies in a single operation.The advantage of such concept is that the aerial perspective from the above-canopy UAV and the terrestrial perspective from the under-canopy UAV can be seamlessly integrated in one flight,thus grants the access to simultaneous high completeness,high efficiency,and low cost.Results:In the experiment,an approximately 0.5 ha forest was covered in ca.10 min from takeoff to landing.The GNSS-IMU based positioning supports a geometric accuracy of the produced point cloud that is equivalent to that of the mobile mapping systems,which leads to a 2–4 cm RMSE of the diameter at the breast height estimates,and a 4–7 cm RMSE of the stem curve estimates.Conclusions:Results of the experiment suggested that the integrated flight is capable of combining the high completeness of upper canopies from the above-canopy perspective and the high completeness of stems from the terrestrial perspective.Thus,it is a solution to combine the advantages of the terrestrial static,the mobile,and the above-canopy UAV observations,which is a promising step forward to achieve a fully autonomous in situ forest inventory.Future studies should be aimed to further improve the platform positioning,and to automatize the UAV operation. 展开更多

For developing nature-based silvicultural practices in a beech forest to promote, abundance, height, vitality, and preferred growth form, regenerated trees growing in gaps were compared with those under closed canopies. A systematic 50 ×50 m grid was plotted in a beech stand in the Kheyrud Experimental Forest for selecting trees to measure variables in gaps and under closed canopies. Abundance and mean height of regenerated beech trees were significantly higher in closed canopies than in canopy gaps. Beech seedlings with excurrent growth were significantly taller within regeneration patches under closed canopy. Moreover, regenerated trees with high vitality were more abundant in closed canopy areas than in gaps. Thus, beech regeneration should improve under closed canopies; hence, gaps in a near natural forest should be created only after adequate regeneration and appropriate growth under the parent tree in a closed canopy area is ensured. The results of this research have profound implications for the sustainable management of the forest and for ensuring sustainable beech regeneration. The presence of a closed canopy cover likely will reduce potential stresses on oriental beech regeneration. 展开更多

Dynamical patterns of mineral elements during decomposition processes were investigated for seven common canopy species in a subtropical evergreen broad-leaved forest by means of litterbag technique over 2 years. The species studied are representative for the vegetation in the study area and differed significantly in chemical qualities of their litter. No significant relationships were found between decomposition rate (percentage dry mass remaining and decomposition constant k) and initial element cuncentrations.However, there were significant correlations betweeu the percentage of dry mass remaining and the mineral element concentrations in the remaining litter for most cases. The rank of the element mobility in decomposition process was as follows: Na = K 〉 Mg ≥ Ca 〉 N ≥ Mn ≥ Zn ≥ P 〉 Cu 〉〉 Al 〉〉 Fe. Concentrations of K and Na decreased in all species as decomposition proceeded. Calcium and Mg also decreased in concentrntion but with a temporal increase in the initial phase of decomposition, while the concentrations of other elements (Zn, Cu, AL and Fei increased for all species with exception of Mn which revealed a different pattern in different species. In most species, microelements (Cu, Al, and Fe) significantly increased in absolute amounts at the end of the litterbag incubation, which could be ascribed to a lange extent to the mechanism of abiotic fixation to humic substances rather than biological immobilization. 展开更多

In sandy forest with a forest canopy gap for a period of over 30 years, the spruce(Picea mongolica) seedlings were monitored on two 5-m- wide transects from the center of a large gap into the surrounding forest. The farther they were to the far center, the taller grew the seedling and the more is the number of seedling. There were many seedlings under the canopy but almost all seedlings died before they grow up. Along the forest edge, growth of seedlings was temporarily enhanced by lateral penetration of light from the gap. The implications for natural forest regeneration dynamics are discussed. Our results prove that in P mongolica forest a gap disturbance creates a non-uniform environment for regeneration of the species, and determines that the forest was a non-even aged forest. 展开更多

Boreal forests play an important role in global environment systems. Understanding boreal forest ecosystem structure and function requires accurate monitoring and estimating of forest canopy and biomass. We used partial least square regression (PLSR) models to relate forest parameters, i.e. canopy closure density and above ground tree biomass, to Landsat ETM+ data. The established models were optimized according to the variable importance for projection (VIP) criterion and the bootstrap method, and their performance was compared using several statistical indices. All variables selected by the VIP criterion passed the bootstrap test (p〈0.05). The simplified models without insignificant variables (VIP 〈1) performed as well as the full model but with less computation time. The relative root mean square error (RMSE%) was 29% for canopy closure density, and 58% for above ground tree biomass. We conclude that PLSR can be an effective method for estimating canopy closure density and above ground biomass. 展开更多

To understand the decomposition characteristics of Pinus massoniana foliar litter and the degradation of its refractory compounds in plantations under five canopy densities,a litter bag experiment over a decomposition time of 392 days was carried out.The results show that canopy density significantly affected decomposition rates of litter and degradation rate of lignin and cellulose.Litter decomposition rates decreased significantly with decreasing canopy density.Both lignin and cellulose degradation rates were lower with canopy densities of 0.62 and 0.74 as compared with the three other densities.Lignin and cellulose losses were more rapid in the first 118 days.Soil fauna had significant impacts on litter decomposition and the degradation of refractory compounds.Canopy density had significant effects on factors such as soil properties and soil fauna community structure,which could be conducive to the decomposition of litter and the degradation of litter recalcitrant components.Canopy density between 0.6 and 0.7 might be a favorable management practice promoting litter decomposition and beneficial for the sustainable development of P.massoniana plantations. 展开更多

Background:The universal occurrence of randomly distributed dark holes(i.e.,data pits appearing within the tree crown)in LiDAR-derived canopy height models(CHMs)negatively affects the accuracy of extracted forest inventory parameters.Methods:We develop an algorithm based on cloth simulation for constructing a pit-free CHM.Results:The proposed algorithm effectively fills data pits of various sizes whilst preserving canopy details.Our pitfree CHMs derived from point clouds at different proportions of data pits are remarkably better than those constructed using other algorithms,as evidenced by the lowest average root mean square error(0.4981 m)between the reference CHMs and the constructed pit-free CHMs.Moreover,our pit-free CHMs show the best performance overall in terms of maximum tree height estimation(average bias=0.9674 m).Conclusion:The proposed algorithm can be adopted when working with different quality LiDAR data and shows high potential in forestry applications. 展开更多

Recently, canopy transpiration (Ec) has been often estimated by xylem sap-flow measurements. However, there is a significant time lag between sap flow measured at the base of the stem and canopy transpiration due to the capacitive exchange between the transpiration stream and stem water storage. Significant errors will be introduced in canopy conductance (gc) and canopy transpiration estimation if the time lag is neglected. In this study, a cross-correlation analysis was used to quantify the time lag, and the sap flowbased transpiration was measured to pararneterize Jarvistype models of gc and thus to simulate Ec of Populus cathayana using the Penman-Monteith equation. The results indicate that solar radiation (Rs) and vapor pressure deficit (VPD) are not fully coincident with sap flow and have an obvious lag effect; the sap flow lags behind Rs and precedes VPD, and there is a 1-h time shift between Eo and sap flow in the 30-min interval data set. A parameterized Jarvis-type gc model is suitable to predict P. cathayana transpiration and explains more than 80% of the variation observed in go, and the relative error was less than 25%, which shows a preferable simulation effect. The root mean square error (RMSEs) between the predicted and measured Ec were 1.91×10^-3 (with the time lag) and 3.12×10^-3cm h^-1 (without the time lag). More importantly, Ec simulation precision that incorporates time lag is improved by 6% compared to the results without the time lag, with the mean relative error (MRE) of only 8.32% and the mean absolute error (MAE) of 1.48 × 10^-3 cm h^-1. 展开更多
