The soil was assumed to be elastic-plastic complying with the Drucker-Prager yield criterion in the analysis. The large displacement of soil was considered and contact elements were used to evaluate the interaction between pile and soil. The influences of soil depth of layer and number of piles on the lateral pressure of the pile were investigated, and the lateral pressure distributions on the (2×1) pile group and on the (2×2) pile group were compared. The results show that the adjacent surcharge may result in significant lateral movement of the soft soil and considerable pressure on the pile. The pressure acting on the row near the surcharge is higher than that on the other row, due to the "barrier" and arching effects in pile groups. The passive load and its distribution should be taken into account in the design of the passive piles.展开更多

The structura l models of assembled roller’s components were designed with SolidWorks softwar e based on feature modeling, these solid models of the roller were virtually ass embled. Through this work, not only was the assemble interference checked out so as to examine validity of the structure design, but also these solid models cou ld be recognized by COSMOS/Works software, through which the finite element an alysis can be done. Then the stress and displacement of the main shaft and sur face segment in two different working states were analyzed and detected quickly according to the analysis results with COSMOS/Works. In conclusion, the optimum clearance of 1.0~2.0 mm between concave-convex studded segments is determined to make the using life of assembled roller longer.展开更多

The finite element analyses were carried out using the linear elastic model for the structure of the pile, while the Mohr-Coulomb model was used for representing the soil behavior surrounding the pile. The study includes cohesionless and cohesive soil to assess the lateral response of pile in the two types of soil. The whole geoteehnical model is suitable for problem of piles to determine the design quantities such as lateral deformation, lateral soil stress and its variation with time. The model is verified based on the results of published cases and there is good comparison between the results of published ease and the present simulation model. It is found that, the pile in cohesionless soil has more resistance in the rapid loading and less one in the long term loading. On the other hand, the pile in cohesive soil shows opposite behavior.展开更多

文摘An effective hybrid optimization method is proposed by integrating an adaptive Kriging(A-Kriging)into an improved partial swarm optimization algorithm(IPSO)to give a so-called A-Kriging-IPSO for maximizing the buckling load of laminated composite plates(LCPs)under uniaxial and biaxial compressions. In this method,a novel iterative adaptive Kriging model, which is structured using two training sample sets as active and adaptive points,is utilized to directly predict the buckling load of the LCPs and to improve the efficiency of the optimization process. The active points are selected from the initial data set while the adaptive points are generated using the radial random-based convex samples. The cell-based smoothed discrete shear gap method(CS-DSG3)is employed to analyze the buckling behavior of the LCPs to provide the response of adaptive and input data sets. The buckling load of the LCPs is maximized by utilizing the IPSO algorithm. To demonstrate the efficiency and accuracy of the proposed methodology, the LCPs with different layers(2,3,4,and 10 layers),boundary conditions, aspect ratios and load patterns(biaxial and uniaxial loads)are investigated. The results obtained by proposed method are in good agreement with the literature results, but with less computational burden.By applying adaptive radial Kriging model, the accurate optimal resultsebased predictions of the buckling load are obtained for the studied LCPs.
