The experimental researches on granite mechanics test in undersea deposit indicate that with the increase of load, the granite deformation energy and the fractal dimension of acoustic emission(FDAE) increase gradually. However, after reaching the peak stress of specimen, the fractal dimensions of acoustic emission(FDAEs) decrease and the granite specimen fails. Therefore, the fractal dimension evolution of rock failure can be divided into four stages, which are fissure inoculation stage, fissure growth stage, fissure expansion stage and fracture instability stage, respectively. By calculating and analyzing the damage photographs of rock specimens in Sanshandao Gold Mine, the fractal dimension of rock fissure is 1.4514, which is close to the average value of FDAE during granite destruction, i.e., 1.4693. Similar simulation experiments of undersea mining show that with the excavation proceeding, the FDAE in rock stratum increases gradually, and when the thickness of the isolation roof is less than 40 m, the FDAE begins to decrease, and meanwhile the sign of water inrush emerges. The numerical simulation researches on the plastic zone distribution of undersea mining in Sanshandao Gold Mine indicate that the fractal dimension of plastic zone(FDPZ) where the failure characteristics occur is 1.4598, close to the result of similar simulation experiment of 1.4364, which shows the sign of water inrush. Meanwhile, the thickness of the isolation roof for undersea mining should be more than 40 m, which is consistent with the results of similar simulation experiment. In Sanshandao Gold Mine, the rock fissures in undersea mining were observed by borehole photography and the rock mass deformation was monitored by multi-point displacement meters, and at the same time the fractal dimensions of strata borehole fissure distribution and energy release ratio(ERR) of rock mass were calculated by fractal principle, which are 1.2328 and 1.2685, respectively. The results demonstrate that rock deformation and fissure propagation are both in the second stage of fissure growth, and have not reached the fourth stage of fracture instability. Therefore, the conclusion can be obtained that the undersea mining in Sanshandao Gold Mine is safe at present.展开更多

Based on the distinguishing characteristics and mine pressure control principle in this technology, the basic principles and methods for mining pressure monitoring were analyzed and established. And the characteristics of overburden strata movement were analyzed by monitoring the support resistance of hydraulic support, the dynamic subsidence of immediate roof, the stress of backfill body, the front abutment pressure, and the mass ratio of cut coal to backfilled materials. On-site strata behavior measurements of 7403 W solid backfilling working face in Zhai Zhen Coal Mine show that the backfill body can effectively support the overburden load, obviously control the overburden strata movement, and weaken the strata behaviors distinctly. Specific performances are as follows. The support resistance decreases obviously; the dynamic subsidence of immediate roof keeps consistent to the variation of backfill body stress, and tends to be stable after the face retreating to 120-150 m away from the cut. Compared to the conventional mining path, the design principles and superiorities of the two new paths are that the miner turning with relative long radius should avoid large sinkage and high slip, so as to ensure its operational safety, while the space between its straight-line trajectories before and after the turning is optimum, which is designed as the total width of the miner, and collect nodules as more as possible, so as to ensure its collection efficiency. To realize the new mining paths, theoretical designs and quantitative calculations were carried out to determine the exact positions for the speed controls of the miner during its whole operation process. With the new dynamic model of the miner, and through regulations of the speeds of the left and right tracks of the miner on the exact motion positions according to the theoretical calculations, the two new improved mining paths for the miner on the seafloor were successfully simulated, thus the turning radius of the miner in the simulation is about 21.8 m, while the distance between the straight-line trajectories before and after the turning is about 5.2 m. The dynamic simulation results preliminarily prove the feasibility of these two new mining paths, and further can provide important theoretical guidance and useful technical reference for the practical tracked miner operation and control on the seafloor.展开更多

These problems include mining subsidence, low recovery ratio, too much dead ore in pillars, and pollution of phosphorus gypsum. Mining subsidence falls into four categories: curved ground and mesa, ground cracks and collapse hole, spalling and eboulement, slope slide and creeping. Measures to treat the mining subsidence were put forward: finding out and managing abandoned stopes, optimizing mining method (cut and fill mining method), selecting proper backfilling materials (phosphogypsum mixtures), avoiding disorder mining operation, and treating highway slopes. These investigations and engineering treatment methods are believed to be able to contribute to the safety extraction of ore and sustainable development in Kaiyang Phosphorus Mine.展开更多

A method of rockburst forecast and its steps are given, and three different stages of rockburst are identified. Furthermore, this paper considers that blasting energy can effectively control rockburst by changing the characteristics of rock mass, which decreases the probability of rockburst happening. According to characteristics of rockburst, two feasible mining techniques under rockburst conditions are put forward, that is stoping and filling method, and sublevel caving method of mining without any sills in hanging wall.展开更多

The calculation results present that the safety factors of pillars in Sections 19, 20, 24, 28 are less than 1.3, and those of unstable sections are identified preliminarily. Further, a numerical investigation in Sections 18, 20, 22, 24, 25 and 28 implemented with numerical code RFPA20 is employed to further validate the pillar performance and the stability of stopes. The numerical results show the pillars in Sections 18, 22 and 24 are stable and the designed pillar size is suitable. The width of the ore body near Section 28 averages 20 m, failure occurs in the left stope, but the boundary pillars near Section 28 maintain good performance. The pillars in Sections 20 and 25 are unstable which are mainly affected by the Faults F8 and F18. The existence of faults alters the stress distribution, failure mode and water inrush pathway. This work provides a meaningful standard for boundary pillar and stope design in a mine as it transitions from an open pit to underground.展开更多

According to the similarity theory,a two-dimensional similar simulation test-bed was constructed. The stress and displacement that change along with the advance of mining were acquired and analyzed automatically by data system. The processes of continuous mining of ore-block in 5 intervals and artificial induced caving of roof were simulated. The results of the test show that ore body remained as safety roof in thickness of 15 m guarantees the safe advance of stoping work face. Caving of safety roof puts in practice at the first two mining intervals when the third interval of continuous mining is finished, and one interval as the safety distance should be kept all the time between stopping and caving. While mining in the last interval,pre-slotting should be implemented first of all,and the roof of the last two mining intervals is caved simultaneously. Only this kind of time series system can be an efficient and safe way for induced caving of roof in continuous mining.展开更多

To solve these technical problems of poor production safety conditions and difficulties in production convergence during the transition period, in this study, based on the case of the Dagu Mountain Mine, a new transition mode of wedge switching for collaborative mining is proposed and established, which is suitable for collaborative mining. This new mining process completely eliminates the boundary pillar and the artificial covering layer, combining the technology of the mining-induced caving method and the technology of deep mining at the bottom of the open-pit. The results show that 1) the optimization of the open-pit boundary reduces the amount of rock stripping, and 2) it achieves a stable transition of collaborative mining capacity. The study shows that the proposed method uses the technologies of the mining-induced caving method in underground mining and deep mining at the bottom of the open pit in open-pit mining, and the method then optimizes the open-pit mining in detail by comparing the advantages of open-pit mining and underground mining. This study provides true and accurate technical support for the transition from open-pit mining to underground mining.展开更多

That is, cutoff grade selection must be dynamic with respect to both time and space. A newly developed method that fulfills these requirements is presented. In this method, the deposit or a portion of it under study is divided into "decision units" based on the mining method and sample data. The statistical grade distribution and the grade-tonnage relationship of each decision unit are then computed based on the samples falling in the unit. Each decision unit with its grade-tonnage relationship is considered as a stage in a dynamic programming scheme and the problem is solved by applying a forward dynamic programming based algorithm with an objective function of maximizing the overall net present value (NPV). A software package is developed for the method and applied to an underground copper mine in Africa.展开更多

文摘An optimization model of underground mining method selection was established on the basis of the unascertained measurement theory.Considering the geologic conditions, technology, economy and safety production, ten main factors influencing the selection of mining method were taken into account, and the comprehensive evaluation index system of mining method selection was constructed. The unascertained evaluation indices corresponding to the selected factors for the actual situation were solved both qualitatively and quantitatively.New measurement standards were constructed. Then, the unascertained measurement function of each evaluation index was established. The index weights of the factors were calculated by entropy theory, and credible degree recognition criteria were established according to the unascertained measurement theory. The results of mining method evaluation were obtained using the credible degree criteria, thus the best underground mining method was determined.Furthermore, this model was employed for the comprehensive evaluation and selection of the chosen standard mining methods in Xinli Gold Mine in Sanshandao of China. The results show that the relative superiority degrees of mining methods can be calculated using the unascertained measurement optimization model,so the optimal method can be easily determined.Meanwhile, the proposed method can take into account large amount of uncertain information in mining method selection, which can provide an effective way for selecting the optimal underground mining method.

文摘Ground crack and subsidence were investigated in Kaiyang Phosphorus Mine as an example. Contribution factors to cause ground crack and mining subsidence were studied, including mining method, mining depth and ore thickness and stope size, dip angle of orebody, geological structure, nature of overburden and water contents, and roof supports, etc. Countermeasures against cracks and subsidence were put forward. The uniaxial compressive strength of compounded phosphorus gypsum after 28 d of curing period was tested to be more than 1 MPa. Phosphorus gypsum can be used as materials for the backfill of stope. By comparison and numerical simulation, cut and fill mining method with middle-deep drilling holes and ore transportation by blasting force was selected as the optimum mining method in Kaiyang Phosphorus Mine.

文摘With comprehensive considerations of the operational safety and collection efficiency for the tracked miner collecting the seafloor poly-metallic nodules, two new improved mining paths for the miner on the deep seafloor were proposed. The dynamic simulation results preliminarily prove the feasibility of these two new mining paths, and further can provide important theoretical guidance and useful technical reference for the practical tracked miner operation and control on the seafloor.

文摘In Kaiyang Phosphorus Mine, serious environmental and safety problems are caused by large scale mining activities in the past 40 years. These investigations and engineering treatment methods are believed to be able to contribute to the safety extraction of ore and sustainable development in Kaiyang Phosphorus Mine.

文摘In order to resolve how to mine under the condition of high stress with rockburst, this paper analyzes the law of rockburst, and considers that most of the rockbursts occur in the high stress area of stope. A method of rockburst forecast and its steps are given, and three different stages of rockburst are identified. Furthermore, this paper considers that blasting energy can effectively control rockburst by changing the characteristics of rock mass, which decreases the probability of rockburst happening. According to characteristics of rockburst, two feasible mining techniques under rockburst conditions are put forward, that is stoping and filling method, and sublevel caving method of mining without any sills in hanging wall.

文摘Based on the height of back-filled materials, thickness of ore body, height of boundary pillar and dipping angle of ore body and water pressure, the safety factors of all the pillars are calculated with the limit equilibrium method. This work provides a meaningful standard for boundary pillar and stope design in a mine as it transitions from an open pit to underground.

文摘With the help of similar material simulation test, time series system for induced caving of roof in continuous mining under complex backfill in ore body No.92 of Tongkeng Tin Mine was studied. Only this kind of time series system can be an efficient and safe way for induced caving of roof in continuous mining.

文摘Equipment plays an important role in open pit mining industry and its cost competence at efficient operation and maintenance techniques centered on reliability can lead to significant cost reduction. The application of optimal maintenance process was investigated for minimizing the equipment breakdowns and downtimes in Sungun Copper Mine.It results in the improved efficiency and productivity of the equipment and lowered expenses as well as the increased profit margin. The field operating data of 10 trucks are used to estimate the failure and maintenance profile for each component, and modeling and simulation are accomplished by using reliability block diagram method.Trend analysis was then conducted to select proper probabilistic model for maintenance profile. Then reliability of the system was evaluated and importance of each component was computed by weighted importance measure method. This analysis led to identify the items with critical impact on availability of overall equipment in order to prioritize improvement decisions.Later, the availability of trucks was evaluated using Monte Carlo simulation and it is revealed that the uptime of the trucks is around 11000 h at 12000 operation hours. Finally, uncertainty analysis was performed to account for the uncertainty sources in data and models.

文摘At the end of the open-pit mining process in large metal mines, the mining model must change from open-pit mining to underground mining, but the mutual interference between the two mining models leads to poor production safety conditions and difficulties in production convergence during the transition period. This study provides true and accurate technical support for the transition from open-pit mining to underground mining.

文摘Geotechnical properties of red shale encountered in deep underground mining were characterized on both laboratory and field scale to reveal its unfavorably in geoenvironment. Its constituents, microstructure, strength properties and water-weakening properties were investigated. In situ stress environment and mining-induced fractured damage zone after excavation were studied to reveal the instability mechanism. The results show that red shale contains swelling and loose clayey minerals as interstitial filling material, producing low shear strength of microstructure and making it vulnerable to water.Macroscopically,a U-shaped curve of uniaxial compressive strength(UCS)exists with the increase of the angle between macro weakness plane and the horizon. However, its tensile strength reduced monotonically with this angle. While immersed in water for72h,its UCS reduced by91.9%comparing to the natural state.Field sonic tests reveal that an asymmetrical geometrical profile of fractured damage zone of gateroad was identified due to geological bedding plane and detailed gateroad layout with regards to the direction of major principle stress. Therefore, red shale is a kind of engineering soft rock. For ground control in underground mining or similar applications, water inflow within several hours of excavation must strictly be prevented and energy adsorbing rock bolt is recommended, especially in large deformation part of gateroad.

文摘In order to explore the control effect of backfill mining on dynamic disasters under special geological mining conditions of overlying thick magmatic rock(TMR),a three-dimensional numerical model of a panel of one side goaf in Yangliu coal mine with double-yield backfill material constitutive model was developed. The simulation results were then compared with field monitoring data. The dynamic disaster control effect of both caving and backfill mining was analyzed in three different aspects,i.e.,displacement field, stress field and energy field. The results show that in comparison to the full caving mining method, the bearing capacity of the goaf after backfilling was enhanced, the backfill mining can effectively reduce the stress and energy accumulated in the coal/rock body, and the backfill mining eliminates the further moving space of TMR and prevents its sudden rupture. Before TMR fracture, the subsidence displacement of TMR was reduced by 65.3%,the front abutment stress of panel decreased by 9.4%on average and the high energy concentration zone around panel was also significantly reduced.Overall, the results of this study provide deeper insights into the control of dynamic disasters by backfill mining in mines.

文摘In order to maximize the overall economic gain from a metal mine operation, selection of cutoff grades must consider two important aspects: the time value of money and the spatial variation of the grade distribution in the deposit. A software package is developed for the method and applied to an underground copper mine in Africa.

文摘In order to ensure overall optimization of the underground metal mine production scale, multidisciplinary design optimization model of production scale which covers the subsystem objective function of income of production, safety and environmental impact in the underground metal mine was established by using multidisciplinary design optimization method. The coupling effects from various disciplines were fully considered, and adaptive mutative scale chaos immunization optimization algorithm was adopted to solve multidisciplinary design optimization model of underground metal mine production scale. Practical results show that multidisciplinary design optimization on production scale of an underground lead and zinc mine reflect the actual operating conditions more realistically, the production scale is about 1.25 Mt/a (Lead and zinc metal content of 160 000 t/a), the economic life is approximately 14 a, corresponding coefficient of production profits can be increased to 15.13%, safety factor can be increased to 5.4% and environmental impact coefficient can be reduced by 9.52%.
