Experimental results show that the elemental compositions of the projectile and target materials in the strong shock experiments have a good agreement with the original elemental compositions of the projectile and target. In addition, the relations between spectral radiant intensity and elemental compositions of the projectile and target materials have been obtained for different impact velocities, in which the spectral radiant intensity of the main elements in the material increases with increasing impact velocity, and more elements appear with increasing impact velocity since more energy would result from a higher velocity impact.展开更多

Among the numerous methods for predicting fatigue life, the spectral method is accepted as the most reliable. Although the theory behind spectral analysis is straight-forward, the analysis itself is complicated and time-consuming because it is closely related to critical technical details such as the application of fatigue loading (wave pressures and the inertial forces due to cargoes), the extraction of the stress, and the calculation of stress RAO. Here, four key technical details-loading application, displacement boundary condition, the calculation of stress RAO, and the extraction of the fatigue stress-are discussed thoroughly. For each aspect, a resolution is presented based on the finite element pre-and post-processing software MSC/PATRAN or FE solver MSC/NASTRAN. To address the challenges posed by varying backgrounds and to enhance the quality and reliability of the energy spectrum data, we devised a temporal energy window. This partitioned the time-series detector response data, resulting in energy spectra that emphasize the vital information pertaining to radioactive materials. We then extracted characteristic features of these energy spectra, relying on the formation mechanism and measurement principles of the gammaray instrument spectrum. These features encompassed aggregated counts, peak-to-flat ratios, and peak-to-peak ratios. This methodology not only simplified the interpretation of the energy spectra's physical significance but also eliminated the necessity for peak searching and individual peak analyses. Given the requirements of imbalanced multi-classification, we created a detection and identification model using a weighted k-nearest neighbors(KNN) framework. This model recognized that energy spectra of identical radioactive materials exhibit minimal inter-class similarity. Consequently, it considerably boosted the classification accuracy of minority classes, enhancing the classifier's overall efficacy. We also executed a series of comparative experiments. Established methods for radionuclide identification classification, such as standard KNN, support vector machine, Bayesian network, and random tree, were used for comparison purposes. Our proposed algorithm realized an F1 measure of 0.9868 on the time-series detector response data, reflecting a minimum enhancement of 0.3% in comparison with other techniques. The results conclusively show that our algorithm outperforms others when applied to time-series detector response data in urban contexts.展开更多

It covers three major aspects of the subject: pavement surface, tire-pavement contact forces, and response of continuum media under moving and stochastic vehicular loads. Under the subject of pavement surface, the spectrum of thermal joints is analyzed using Fourier analysis of periodic function. One-dimensional and two-dimensional random field models of pavement surface are discussed given three different assumptions. Under the subject of tire-pavement contact forces, a vehicle is modeled as a linear system. At a constant speed of travel, random field of pavement surface serves as a stationary stochastic process exciting vehicle vibration, which, in turn, generates contact force at the interface of tire and pavement. The contact forces are analyzed in the time domain and the frequency domains using random vibration theory. It is shown that the contact force can be treated as a nonzero mean stationary process with a normal distribution. Power spectral density of the contact force of a vehicle with walking-beam suspension is simulated as an illustration. Under the subject of response of continuum media under moving and stochastic vehicular loads, both time-domain and frequency-domain analyses are presented for analytic treatment of moving load problem. It is shown that stochastic response of linear continuum media subject to a moving stationary load is a nonstationary process. Such a nonstationary stochastic process can be converted to a stationary stochastic process in a follow-up moving coordinate.展开更多

The numerical results of coupled motions for a frigate and a supply ship have a good agreement with the experimental results. Based on the 3D coupled motions of two ships, a spectral analysis is employed to clearly observe the effect of speed, clearance and wave heading on the significant relative motion amplitude (SRMA) of two ships. The method presented in this paper will be helpful to select suitable clearance, speed and wave heading for underway replenishment at sea(RAS).展开更多

文摘Global navigation satellite system(GNSS) can be employed as a transmitter to composite bistatic synthetic aperture radar(BiSAR).As GNSS signal is quite different from the traditional radar signal, modified spectral analysis(SPECAN) algorithm is proposed and applied in the BiSAR system. The modifications include Doppler centroid compensation, range curve correction and azimuth processing method. The modified SPECAN algorithm solves the imaging problem under the condition of huge range migration, long synthetic aperture time and phase-coded signal. The proposed algorithm is verified by experiment results.
文摘In this paper, a 3D source distribution technique is used to calculate the coupled motions between two ships which advance in the wave with the same speed. The method presented in this paper will be helpful to select suitable clearance, speed and wave heading for underway replenishment at sea(RAS).
