In this paper, a novel calibration integral equation is derived for resolving double-sided, two-probe inverse heat conduction problem of surface heat flux estimation. In contrast to the conventional inverse heat conduction techniques, this calibration approach does not require explicit input of the probe locations, thermophysical properties of the host material and temperature sensor parameters related to thermal contact resistance, sensor capacitance and conductive lead losses. All those parameters and properties are inherently contained in the calibration framework in terms of Volterra integral equation of the first kind. The Laplace transform technique is applied and the frequency domain manipulations of the heat equation are performed for deriving the calibration integral equation. Due to the ill-posed nature, regularization is required for the inverse heat conduction problem, a future-time method or singular value decomposition (SVD) can be used for stabilizing the ill-posed Volterra integral equation of the first kind. 展开更多

General neural network inverse adaptive controller has two flaws: the first is the slow convergence speed; the second is the invalidation to the non-minimum phase system. These defects limit the scope in which the neural network inverse adaptive controller is used. We employ Davidon least squares in training the multi-layer feedforward neural network used in approximating the inverse model of plant to expedite the convergence, and then through constructing the pseudo-plant, a neural network inverse adaptive controller is put forward which is still effective to the nonlinear non-minimum phase system. The simulation results show the validity of this scheme. 展开更多

Passive millimeter wave (PMMW) images inherently have the problem of poor resolution owing to limited aperture dimension. Thus, efficient post-processing is necessary to achieve resolution improvement. An adaptive projected Landweber (APL) super-resolution algorithm using a spectral correction procedure, which attempts to combine the strong points of all of the projected Landweber (PL) iteration and the adaptive relaxation parameter adjustment and the spectral correction method, is proposed. In the algorithm, the PL iterations are implemented as the main image restoration scheme and a spectral correction method is included in which the calculated spectrum within the passband is replaced by the known low frequency component. Then, the algorithm updates the relaxation parameter adaptively at each iteration. A qualitative evaluation of this algorithm is performed with simulated data as well as actual radiometer image captured by 91.5 GHz mechanically scanned radiometer. From experiments, it is found that the super-resolution algorithm obtains better results and enhances the resolution and has lower mean square error (MSE). These constraints and adaptive character and spectral correction procedures speed up the convergence of the Landweber algorithm and reduce the ringing effects that are caused by regularizing the image restoration problem. 展开更多

The inverse synthetic aperture radar (ISAR) imaging can be converted into a sparse reconstruction problem and solved by the l1norm minimization algorithm. The basis matrix in sparse ISAR imaging is usually characterized by the unknown rotation rate of a moving target, thus the rotation rate and the sparse signal should be jointly estimated. Especially due to the imperfect coarse motion compensation, we consider the phase error correction problem in the context of the sparse signal reconstruction. To address this issue, we propose an iterative reweighted method, which jointly estimates the rotation rate, corrects the phase error and reconstructs a high resolution ISAR image. The proposed method gives a gradual and interweaved iterative process to refine the unknown parameters to achieve the best sparse representation for the ISAR signals. Particularly, in ISAR image reconstruction, the l1norm minimization algorithm is sensitive to user parameters. Setting these user parameters are not trivial and the reconstruction performance depends significantly on their choices. Then, we consider an expansion-compression variance-component (ExCoV) based method, which is automatic and demands no prior knowledge about signal-sparsity or measurement-noise levels. Both numerical and electromagnetic data experiments are implemented to show the effectiveness of the proposed method. It is shown that the proposed method can estimate the rotation rate and correct the phase errors simultaneously, and its superior performance is proved in terms of high resolution ISAR image. © 2017 Beijing Institute of Aerospace Information. 展开更多

In order to improve the accuracy of biophysical parameters retrieved from remotely sensing data, a new algorithm was presented by using spatial contextual to estimate canopy variables from high-resolution remote sensing images. The developed algorithm was used for inversion of leaf area index (LAI) from Enhanced Thematic Mapper Plus (ETM+) data by combining with optimization method to minimize cost functions. The results show that the distribution of LAI is spatially consistent with the false composition imagery from ETM+ and the accuracy of LAI is significantly improved over the results retrieved by the conventional pixelwise retrieval methods, demonstrating that this method can be reliably used to integrate spatial contextual information for inverting LAI from high-resolution remote sensing images. 展开更多

A consensus problem of multi-agent system subject to the communication delay with fixed and switching topologies as well as optimal obstacle avoidance is investigated. An innovative non-quadratic obstacle avoidance cost function is designed from an inverse optimal control perspective and a novel dynamic potential field whose vectors are rotating around the obstacle is introduced to avoid obstacles. The asymptotic stability condition of dynamical networks based on the Lyapunov-Krasovskii function is obtained via a linear matrix inequality (LMI) formulation. Finally, numerical examples are presented to show the effectiveness of the proposed theoretical results. © 2016 Beijing Institute of Aerospace Information. 展开更多
