Taking its effect into account, the improved measurement equations based on the resonance method are presented. The simulated results show that, for the sake of weakening the adhesive's influence on the measured results, the adhesive should be spreaded as thin as possible when specimen is prepared, the adhesive's density and loss factor should be selected as small as possible also, and its Young's modulus should be selected according to the damping material being measured;the same adhesion condition effects differently on the test results of different damping materials,i.e. the error due to the adhesive is more inconspicuous if the damping layer has bigger thickness, modulus, loss factor and a certain density according to the damping material being measured. These conclusions provide theoretical basis for selecting adhesive, improving adhesion technology, and designing specimen.展开更多

Having high damping characteristic, rubbers can be used as either soil alternative or mixed with soil to reduce vibration when seismic loads are of great concern. Therefore, the objective of this work was to evaluate the dynamic properties of such mixtures prior to practical applications. To this reason, torsional resonant column and dynamic triaxial experiments were carried out and the effect of the important parameters like rubber content and ratio of mean grain size of rubber solids versus soil solids(D50,r/D50,s) on dynamic response of mixtures in a range of low to high shearing strain amplitude from about 4×10-4% to 2.7% were investigated. Considering engineering applications, specimens were prepared almost at the maximum dry density and optimum moisture content to model a mixture layer above the ground water table and in low precipitation region. The results show that tire inclusion significantly reduces the shear modulus and increases the damping ratio of the mixtures. Also decrease in D50,r/D50,s causes the mixture to exhibit more rubber-like behavior. Finally, normalized shear modulus versus shearing strain amplitude curve was proposed for engineering practice.展开更多

In order to improve the model precision, applied force analysis was completed in detail, and single or double tooth meshing states of two gear pairs at any timing were determined according to the meshing characteristic of anti-backlash gear. The influences of friction and variations of damping ratio on dynamic transmission error were analyzed finally by numerical calculation and the results show that anti-backlash gear can increase the composite mesh stiffness comparing with the mesh stiffness of the normal gear pair. At the pitch points where the frictions change their signs, additional impulsive effects are observed. The width of impulsive in the same value of center frequency is wider than that without friction, and the amplitude is lower. When gear pairs mesh in and out, damping can reduce the vibration and impact.展开更多

Measurements were carried out before and after isochronal thermal treatment step by step with increasing temperature. For all specimens, the strain dependence of the logarithmic decrement exhibits two regions. At lower strains the logarithmic decrement is strain independent and in the higher strain region it depends strongly on strain amplitude. The strain-independent logarithmic decrement is mainly composed of thermoelastic damping and dislocation damping, which can be explained by Granato-Lticke theory. In addition, the strain-independent logarithmic decrement for the specimens annealed at higher temperatures is a little lower than that for as-cast specimen, and it increases with increasing temperature of heat treatment. Microstructure changes due to heat treatment are responsible for changes of the logarithmic decrement.展开更多

However, conventional WADC design method neglects the influence of signal transmission delay and damping performance of WADC designed by the conventional method may deteriorate or even has no effect when signal transmission delay is beyond delay margin, an index that denotes delay endurance degree of power system. Therefore, a new design method for WADC under the condition of expected damping factor and required signal transmission delay is presented in this work. An improved delay margin with less conservatism is derived by adopting a new Lyapunov-Krasovskii function and more compact bounding technique on the derivative of Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional. The improved delay margin, which constructs the correlation of damping factor and signal transmission delay, can be used to design WADC. WADC designed by the proposed method can ensure that power system satisfies expected damping factor when WADC input signal is delayed within delay margin. Satisfactory test results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.展开更多

With the static balance characteristic of the screen body/surface as well as the deformation compatibility relation of springs considered, static model of the screen surface under a certain load was established to calculate compression deformation of each spring. Accuracy of the model was validated by both an experiment based on the suspended mass method and the properties of the 3D deformation space in a numerical simulation. Furthermore, by adopting the Taylor formula and the control variate method, quantitative relationship between the change of damping spring deformation and the change of spring stiffness, defined as the deformation sensitive coefficient(DSC), was derived mathematically, from which principle of the TSMM for spring fault diagnosis is clarified. In the end, an experiment was carried out and results show that the TSMM is applicable for diagnosing the fault of single spring in a LVS.展开更多

The effects of air damping in traditional inertial switch with spring-mass system can be ignored for its large volume and mass. But, many properties of MEMS switch, such as sensitivity, resolution and contact time, are affected by the air damping caused from the squeezed air film between two parallel plates moving relatively. Based on the conservation laws for mass and flux and the nonlinear Reynolds equation, the coefficient of squeeze-film damping was derived. The dynamic responses of the inertial switch with and without squeeze-film damping were simulated by using software ANSYS. The simulated results show that the sensitivity and contact time of the switch descend by about 5% and 15%, respectively, when the effects of squeeze-film damping are considered.展开更多

Satisfactory test results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.

文摘Based on the statics theory, a novel and feasible twice-suspended-mass method(TSMM) was proposed to deal with the seldom-studied issue of fault diagnosis for damping springs of large vibrating screen(LVS). In the end, an experiment was carried out and results show that the TSMM is applicable for diagnosing the fault of single spring in a LVS.

文摘AZ31 alloy sheet fabricated by rolling was processed by friction stir processing(FSP) with different passes. The effect of FSP on the microstructure and damping capacity of AZ31 alloy sheet was discussed. The fine and equiaxed grains were obtained in the stirred zone(SZ) for FSPed samples from 1 pass to 3 passes with the average grain size of 10.6, 10.4 and 13.6 μm, respectively. The damping peak P_1 was presented on the curves of temperature-dependent damping capacity for FSPed samples. The damping peak P_2 was restrained after FSP and the damping peak P_1 was a relaxation process. The FSPed samples(2-pass FSP and 3-pass FSP) obtained high damping capacity. The best damping valuesQ_0^(-1)(ε=10_(-4)) and damping values Q_H^(-1)(ε=10^(-3)) of the sample subjected to 3-pass FSP(0.0131 and 0.0496) increased by 33.7% and 157.0%, respectively.
文摘Wind energy sources have different structures and functions from conventional power plants in the power system. These resources can affect the exchange of active and reactive power of the network. Therefore, power system stability will be affected by the performance of wind power plants, especially in the event of a fault. In this paper, the improvement of the dynamic stability in power system equipped by wind farm is examined through the supplementary controller design in the high voltage direct current(HVDC)based on voltage source converter(VSC)transmission system. In this regard, impacts of the VSC HVDC system and wind farm on the improvement of system stability are considered. Also,an algorithm based on controllability(observability)concept is proposed to select most appropriate and effective coupling between inputs-outputs(IO)signals of system in different work conditions. The selected coupling is used to apply damping controller signal. Finally,a fractional order PID controller(FO-PID)based on exchange market algorithm(EMA)is designed as damping controller. The analysis of the results shows that the wind farm does not directly contribute to the improvement of the dynamic stability of power system. However,it can increase the controllability of the oscillatory mode and improve the performance of the supplementary controller.

文摘Magnetorheological elastomer(MRE) is a new kind of smart materials, its dynamic mechanic performances can be controlled by an applied magnetic field.MRE is usually used as a stiffness-changeable spring in the semi-active vibration absorber. In order to get perfect vibration control effect, low dynamic damping of MRE is need. But the dynamic damping of MRE was not studied deeply in the past. The dynamic damping of MRE was studied and analyzed. The influences of different test conditions including test strain amplitude, test frequency and test magnetic field were deeply studied.MRE sample and pure silicone rubber sample were prepared and tested under different conditions. The test results show that the main source of dynamic damping is the friction between iron particles and rubber matrix. And the friction is mainly influenced by the strain amplitude and test magnetic field.
文摘The squeeze-film air damping exists in a lot of micro-electronic-mechanical system (MEMS) devices unavoidably. The simulated results show that the sensitivity and contact time of the switch descend by about 5% and 15%, respectively, when the effects of squeeze-film damping are considered.
