Integrated Sensing and Communication Enabled Sensing Base Station:System Design,Beamforming,Interference Cancellation and Performance Analysis

This paper studies the sensing base station(SBS)that has great potential to improve the safety of vehicles and pedestrians on roads.SBS can detect the targets on the road with communication signals using the integrated sensing and communication(ISAC)technique.Compared with vehicle-mounted radar,SBS has a better sensing field due to its higher deployment position,which can help solve the problem of sensing blind areas.In this paper,key technologies of SBS are studied,including the beamforming algorithm,beam scanning scheme,and interference cancellation algorithm.To transmit and receive ISAC signals simultaneously,a double-coupling antenna array is applied.The free detection beam and directional communication beam are proposed for joint communication and sensing to meet the requirements of beamwidth and pointing directions.The joint timespace-frequency domain division multiple access algorithm is proposed to cancel the interference of SBS,including multiuser interference and duplex interference between sensing and communication.Finally,the sensing and communication performance of SBS under the industrial scientific medical power limitation is analyzed and simulated.Simulation results show that the communication rate of SBS can reach over 100 Mbps and the range of sensing and communication can reach about 500 m. 展开更多

Integrated data and energy transfer(IDET)enables the electromagnetic waves to transmit wireless energy at the same time of data delivery for lowpower devices.In this paper,an energy harvesting modulation(EHM)assisted multi-user IDET system is studied,where all the received signals at the users are exploited for energy harvesting without the degradation of wireless data transfer(WDT)performance.The joint IDET performance is then analysed theoretically by conceiving a practical time-dependent wireless channel.With the aid of the AO based algorithm,the average effective data rate among users are maximized by ensuring the BER and the wireless energy transfer(WET)performance.Simulation results validate and evaluate the IDET performance of the EHM assisted system,which also demonstrates that the optimal number of user clusters and IDET time slots should be allocated,in order to improve the WET and WDT performance. 展开更多

A large language model(LLM)is constructed to address the sophisticated demands of data retrieval and analysis,detailed well profiling,computation of key technical indicators,and the solutions to complex problems in reservoir performance analysis(RPA).The LLM is constructed for RPA scenarios with incremental pre-training,fine-tuning,and functional subsystems coupling.Functional subsystem and efficient coupling methods are proposed based on named entity recognition(NER),tool invocation,and Text-to-SQL construction,all aimed at resolving pivotal challenges in developing the specific application of LLMs for RDA.This study conducted a detailed accuracy test on feature extraction models,tool classification models,data retrieval models and analysis recommendation models.The results indicate that these models have demonstrated good performance in various key aspects of reservoir dynamic analysis.The research takes some injection and production well groups in the PK3 Block of the Daqing Oilfield as an example for testing.Testing results show that our model has significant potential and practical value in assisting reservoir engineers with RDA.The research results provide a powerful support to the application of LLM in reservoir performance analysis. 展开更多

The network on chip(NoC)is used as a solution for the communication problems in a complex system on chip(SoC)design.To further enhance performances,the NoC architectures,a high level modeling and an evaluation method based on OPNET are proposed to analyze their performances on different injection rates and traffic patterns.Simulation results for general NoC in terms of the average latency and the throughput are analyzed and used as a guideline to make appropriate choices for a given application.Finally,a MPEG4 decoder is mapped on different NoC architectures.Results prove the effectiveness of the evaluation method. 展开更多

Serving multiple cell-edge mobile terminals poses multifaceted challenges due to the increased transmission power and interferences, which could be overcome by relay communications. With the recent advancement of 5G technologies, non-orthogonal multiple access(NOMA) has been used at relay node to transmit multiple messages simultaneously to multiple cell-edge users. In this paper, a Collaborative NOMA Assisted Relaying(CNAR) system for 5G is proposed by enabling the collaboration of source-relay(S-R) and relay-destination(R-D) NOMA links. The relay node of the CNAR decodes the message for itself from S-R NOMA signal and transmits the remaining messages to the multiple cell-edge users in R-D link. A simplified-CNAR(S-CNAR) system is then developed to reduce the relay complexity. The outage probabilities for both systems are analyzed by considering outage behaviors in S-R and R-D links separately. To guarantee the data rate, the optimal power allocation among NOMA users is achieved by minimizing the outage probability. The ergodic sum capacity in high SNR regime is also approximated. Our mathematical analysis and simulation results show that CNAR system outperforms existing transmission strategies and S-CNAR reaches similar performance with much lower complexity. 展开更多

Anisotropy of permeability has reconstructive effects on well patterns. The originally designed flooding units are broken up, and new pattern units are made up of the wells that belong to different original units. The behavior possesses strong randomness, and leads to a complicated relationship among the injection and production wells, and unpredictable productivity of the formations. To prevent the break-up of well patterns, well lines should be either parallel or perpendicular to the maximum principal direction of the anisotropic permeability (i.e. the fracture direction). To optimize the development effects ofanisotropic formations, the latitudinal and longitudinal well spacing of the well network are calculated from the principal values of the anisotropic permeability. 展开更多

The focus is on analyzing the effect of flexible airfoils types and blade flexibility on turbine net output power. To this end, five different flexible airfoils (Symmetric and Non-symmetric) are employed. The results show that the use of a thick flexible symmetric airfoil can effectively increase output power compared to that achievable with a conventional rigid blade. Moreover, the use of highly flexible blades, as opposed to less flexible or rigid blades, is not recommended. 展开更多

In free space channel,continuous-variable quantum key distribution(CV-QKD)using polarized coherent-states can not only make the signal state more stable and less susceptible to interference based on the polarization non-sensitive of the free-space channel,but also reduce the noise introduced by phase interference.However,arbitrary continuous modulation can not be carried out in the past polarization coding,resulting in that the signal state can not obtain arbitrary continuous value in Poincare space,and the security analysis of CV-QKD using polarized coherent-states in free space is not complete.Here we propose a new modulation method to extend the modulation range of signal states with an optical-fiber-based polarization controller.In particular,in terms of the main influence factors in the free-space channel,we utilize the beam extinction and elliptical model when considering the transmittance and adopt the formulation of secret key rate.In addition,the performance of the proposed scheme under foggy weather is also taken into consideration to reveal the influence of severe weather.Numerical simulation shows that the proposed scheme is seriously affected by attenuation under foggy weather.The protocol fails when visibility is less than 1 km.At the same time,the wavelength can affect the performance of the proposed scheme.Specifically,under foggy weather,the longer the wavelength,the smaller the attenuation coefficient,and the better the transmission performance.Our proposed scheme can expand the modulation range of signal state,and supplement the security research of the scheme in the free-space channel,thus can provide theoretical support for subsequent experiments. 展开更多

Providing alternative PNT service to GNSS-challenged users will be an important function of next-generation NGSO broadband satellite communication systems.Herein,a packet-based PNT service architecture in NGSO broadband systems is proposed in which a primary satellite and selected assistant satellites work together to provide PNT service to requesting users.Its positioning performance bounds are mathematically formulated by rigorously analyzing the bounds constrained by different waveforms.Simulations are conducted on different configurations of Walker Delta MEO constellations and Walker Star LEO constellations for corroboration,revealing the following:(1)Both MEO and LEO constellations achieve sub-meter-level positioning precision given enough satellites.(2)Compared to the GNSS Doppler-based velocity estimation method,the position advance based velocity estimation algorithm is more precise and applicable to the PNT service in NGSO broadband systems.(3)To provide PNT service to users in GNSS-challenged environments,the primary and each assistant satellite need only∼0.1‰of the time of one downlink beam. 展开更多

Ambient backscatter is a new green technology for Internet of Things(IoT)that utilizes surrounding wireless signals to enable batteryless devices to communicate with other devices.The battery-free devices first harvest energy from ambient wireless signals and then backscatter the signals for communications.Clearly,sensitivity and distance are two important parameters for system performance.However,most existing studies on ambient backscatter communication systems do not consider the impact of the sensitivity of the energy-harvesting nodes and the distances between these devices.In this paper,we first provide a literature review for ambient communication technology and then take sensitivity and distance as two key parameters and investigate the sensitivity and distance based performance for ambient backscatter communication systems.Specifically,we establish the mathematical model based on distances between transceivers and backscattering nodes,extract a parameter that can differentiate the direct path and the backscattering path,evaluate the effects of transmit beamforming,design an energy detector for the reader,and analyze the outage probability of energy harvesting at the tag and the bit error rate(BER)at the reader.Simulations are then provided to corroborate the proposed studies. 展开更多

This paper proposes an analysis model of frame aggregation in error-free channel with unsaturated traffic and fixed aggregation size. Integrated with model of channel access, calculation of MAC (Media Access Control) average service time and queue model of frame aggregation, our model can get the stable result with a recursive algorithm, and it further derive the throughput and latency of frame aggregation in steady state. As the impact of traffic, frame length, collision probability, buffer size, aggregation size and interactive effects are taken into consideration, the effect of every parameter could be evaluated and the major factor which degrades the performance of frame aggregation can be determined in different situation with this model. By the simulation and numerical analysis, this model confirmed its accuracy. The proposed model can be used in the design, optimization and deployment of WLAN (Wireless Local Area Network) and WMN (Wireless Mesh Network) widely. 展开更多

This paper focuses on the methodology analysis for the stability and the corresponding tracking performance of a closed-loop digital jump linear control system with a stochastic switching signal. The method is applied to a flight control system. A distributed recoverable platform is implemented on the flight control system and subject to independent digital upsets. The upset processes are used to stimulate electromagnetic environments. Specifically, the paper presents the scenarios that the upset process is directly injected into the distributed flight control system, which is modeled by independent Markov upset processes and independent and identically distributed (IID) processes. A theoretical performance analysis and simulation modelling are both presented in detail for a more complete independent digital upset injection. The specific examples are proposed to verify the methodology of tracking performance analysis. The general analyses for different configurations are also proposed. Comparisons among different configurations are conducted to demonstrate the availability and the characteristics of the design. 展开更多

Emulation platforms are critical for evaluation and verification in the research of networking technologies and protocols for space networks(SN).High fidelity emulating technologies have been extensively studied for SN in earlier work,while little emphasis has been placed on the performance evaluation part.In this paper,the design of a network performance analysis architecture is presented,with which high-speed network traffic can be captured and indexed,and the performance of the emulated SN can be well analyzed and evaluated.This architecture comprises three components,namely capture layer,storage layer and analysis layer.Analytic Hierarchy Process(AHP)and several analysis methods are adopted to evaluate the network performance comprehensively.In the implementation of the proposed architecture,configuration optimization and parallel processing are applied to handle large amount of high-speed network traffic.Finally,experiment results through the analysis system exhibits the effectiveness of the proposed architecture. 展开更多

The model of a three-terminal thermoelectric refrigerator with ideal tunneling quantum dots is established. It consists of a cavity connected to two quantum dots embedded between two electron reservoirs at different temperatures and chemical potentials. According to the Landauer formula the expressions for the heat current, the cooling rate and the coefficient of performance (COP) are derived analytically. The performance characteristic curves of the cooling rate versus the coefficient of performance are plotted with numerical calculation. The optimal regions of the cooling rate and the COP are determined. Moreover, we optimize the cooling rate and the COP with respect to the position of energy level of the right quantum dot, respectively. The influence of the width of energy level and the temperature ratio on performance of the three-terminal thermoelectric refrigerator is analyzed. Lastly, when the width of energy level is small enough, the optimal performance of the refrigerator is discussed in detail. 展开更多

The rough decrements of drain current and transeonductance with the operation temperature are observed. Compared with the conventional HFETs, the drain current drop of the PolFET is smaller. The transeonductance drop of PolFETs at different gate biases shows different temperature dependences. From the aspect of the unique carrier behaviors of graded AlGaN/GaN heterostructure, we propose a quasi-multi-channel model to investigate the physics behind the temperature-dependent performance of AlGaN/GaN PolFETs. 展开更多

The phenomenon of data explosion represents a severe challenge for the upcoming big data era.However,the current Internet architecture is insufficient for dealing with a huge amount of traffic owing to an increase in redundant content transmission and the end-point-based communication model.Information-centric networking(ICN)is a paradigm for the future Internet that can be utilized to resolve the data explosion problem.In this paper,we focus on content-centric networking(CCN),one of the key candidate ICN architectures.CCN has been studied in various network environments with the aim of relieving network and server burden,especially in name-based forwarding and in-network caching functionalities.This paper studies the effect of several caching strategies in the CCN domain from the perspective of network and server overhead.Thus,we comprehensively analyze the in-network caching performance of CCN under several popular cache replication methods(i.e.,cache placement).We evaluate the performance with respect to wellknown Internet traffic patterns that follow certain probabilistic distributions,such as the Zipf/Mandelbrot–Zipf distributions,and flashcrowds.For the experiments,we developed an OPNET-based CCN simulator with a realistic Internet-like topology. 展开更多

Satellite mobile system and space-airground integrated network have a prominent superiority in global coverage which plays a critical role in remote and non-land regions, as well as emergency communications. However, due to the gradual angle attenuations of the satellite antennas, it is difficult to achieve full frequency multiplex among different beams as terrestrial 5G network. Multi-color frequency reuse is widely adopted in both academic and industry. Beam hopping scheme has attracted the attention of researchers recently due to the allocation flexibility. In this paper, we focus on analyzing the performance benefits of beam hopping compared with multi-color frequency reuse scheme in non-uniform user and traffic distributions in satellite system. Aerial networks are also introduced to form a space-airground integrated network for coverage enhancement,and the capacity improvement is analyzed. Besides,additional improved techniques are provided to make comprehensive analysis and comparisons. Theoretical analysis and simulation results indicate that the beam hopping scheme has a prominent superiority in the system capacity compared with the traditional multicolor frequency reuse scheme in both satellite mobile system and future space-air-ground integrated network. 展开更多

This paper provides an analytical framework for the outage probability evaluation of dual-hop decode-and-forward relay systems operating over K-μfading channels in the presence of co-channel interference. The interferers are independent non-identically distributed K-μfading. An accurate analytical-form expression for the cumulative distribution function of the received signal power to interference and noise ratio is derived. Various numerical results are compared with Monte Carlo simulation results in order to corroborate the accuracy of the proposed expressions. Our results show that increasing the value of kappa of main links will decrease the outage probability of relay systems. Furthermore, the system performance degrades with the number of interferences. 展开更多

Scheduling schemes assign limited resources to appropriate users,which are critical for wireless network performance.Most current schemes have been designed based on saturated traffic,i.e.,assuming users in networks always have data to transmit.However,the user buffer may sometimes be empty in actual network.Therefore,these algorithms will allocate resources to users having no data to transmit,which results in resource waste.In view of this,we propose new scheduling schemes for onehop and two-hop link scenario with unsaturated traffic.Furthermore,this paper analyzes their key network performance indicators,including the average queue length,average throughput,average delay and outage probability.The two scheduling algorithms avoid scheduling the links whose buffers are empty and thus improve the network resource utilization.For the one-hop link scenario,network provides differentiated services via adjusting the scheduling probabilities of the destination nodes(DNs)with different priorities.Among the DNs with same priority,the node with higher data arrival rate has larger scheduling probability.For the two-hop link scenario,we prioritize the scheduling of relay-to-destination(R-D)link and dynamically adjust the transmission probability of source-to-relay(S-R)link,according to the length of remaining buffer.The experiment results show the effectiveness and advantage of the proposed algorithms. 展开更多

This paper deals with a multidimensional examination of the infrastructural, technical/technological, operational, economic, social, and environmental performances of high-speed rail (HSR) systems, including their overview, analysis of some real-life cases, and limited (analytical) modeling. The infrastructural performances reflect design and geometrical characteristics of the HSR lines and stations. The technical/technological performances relate to the characteristics of rolling stock, i.e., high-speed trains, and supportive facilities and equipment, i.e., the power supply, signaling, and traffic control and management system(s). The operational performances include the capacity and productivity of HSR lines and rolling stock, and quality of services. The economic per- formances refer to the HSR systems' costs, revenues, and their relationship. The social performances relate to the impacts of HSR systems on the society such as congestion, noise, and safety, and their externalities, and the effects in terms of contribution to the local and global/country social- economic development. Finally, the environmental performances of the HSR systems reflect their energy consumption and related emissions of green house gases, land use, and corresponding externalities. 展开更多
