The necessary and sufficient conditions for quadratic stability are presented. Moreover, the stability robustness index is introduced as the measurement of the stability robustness. For the systems with given uncertain parameter bounds, checking the necessary and sufficient conditions and calculating the stability robust index are converted to solving minimax problems. It is shown that the maximization can be reduced to comparisons between the functional values of the corners when the parameter region is bounded by hyperpolydredon, and any local minimum value in the minimization is exactly the global minimum.展开更多

A circular zone counting (CZC) method is proposed in this paper, by combining the Duffing oscillator's phase trajectory feature and numerical calculation for quickly and accurately identifying state transition and determining the critical value, to realize a high- efficiency weak signal detection. Detailed model analysis and method construction of the CZC method are introduced. Numerical experiments into the reliability of the proposed CZC method compared with the maximum Lyapunov exponent (MLE) method are carried out. The CZC method is demonstrated to have better detecting ability than the MLE method, and furthermore it is simpler and clearer in calculation to extend to engineering application.展开更多

Based on the Lyapunov stability method, we prove theoretically that the duplex network can achieve intra-layer synchronization under some appropriate conditions, and give the thresholds of coupling strength within layers for different types of inner coupling matrices across layers. Interestingly, for a certain class of coupling matrices across layers, it needs larger coupling strength within layers to ensure the intra-layer synchronization when the coupling strength across layers become larger, intuitively opposing the fact that the intra-layer synchronization is seemly independent of the coupling strength across layers. Finally, numerical simulations further verify the theoretical results.展开更多

Motivated by the vehicle's steering practice, the yaw angle regarded as a virtual control plus the surge thrust force are used to force the position of the vehicle to globally track its reference trajectory. The control design is based on several recent results developed for inverse optimal control and stability analysis of nonlinear systems, a new design of bounded disturbance observers, and backstepping and Lyapunov's direct methods. Both state- and output-feedback control designs are addressed. Simulations are included to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed results.展开更多

The Markovian jumping parameters are modeled as a continuous-time finite-state Markov chain. The main aim is to design a delay-dependent robust H∞control synthesis which ensures the mean-square asymptotic stability of the equilibrium point. By constructing a suitable Lyapunov–Krasovskii functional(LKF), sufficient conditions for delay-dependent robust H∞control criteria are obtained in terms of linear matrix inequalities(LMIs). The advantage of the proposed method is illustrated by numerical examples. The results are also compared with the existing results to show the less conservativeness.展开更多

The control design is based on a global exponential disturbance observer, a transformation of the ship dynamics to an almost spherical form, an interpretation of the tracking errors in an earth-fixed frame, an introduction of dynamic variables to compensate for relaxation of the reference path generation, p-times differentiable step functions, and backstepping and Lyapunov's direct methods. A new suitable Lyapunov–Krasovskii functional(LKF) with triple integral terms is constructed and a tighter upper bound of the derivative of the LKF is derived.
