This paper proposes a novel method for estimating the sparse inverse covariance matrixfor longitudinal data with informative dropouts. Based on the modified Cholesky decomposition,the sparse inverse covariance matrix is modelled by the autoregressive regression model,which guarantees the positive definiteness of the covariance matrix. To account for the informativedropouts, we then propose a penalized estimating equation method using the inverse probabilityweighting approach. The informative dropout propensity parameters are estimated by the generalizedmethod of moments. The asymptotic properties are investigated for the resulting estimators.Finally, we illustrate the effectiveness and feasibility of the proposed method through Monte Carlosimulations and a practical application. 展开更多

The derivation of a diagonally loaded sample-matrix inversion (LSMI) algorithm on the busis of inverse matrix recursion (i.e.LSMI-IMR algorithm) is conducted by reconstructing the recursive formulation of covariance matrix. For the new algorithm, diagonal loading is by setting initial inverse matrix without any addition of computation. In addition, a corresponding improved recursive algorithm is presented, which is low computational complexity. This eliminates the complex multiplications of the scalar coefficient and updating matrix, resulting in significant computational savings. Simulations show that the LSMI-IMR algorithm is valid. 展开更多

For real-time jamming signal generation in deceiving inverse synthetic aperture radar(ISAR),the target characteristics modulation is always processed in the expensive field programmable gate array(FPGA).Due to the large computational complexity of the traditional modulating operation,the size and structure of simulated false-target are limited.With regard to the principle of dechirping in range compression of linear frequency modulated(LFM) radar,a novel algorithm named "inverse dechirping" is proposed for target characteristics modulation.This algorithm only needs one complex multiplier in the FPGA to generate the jamming signal when the radar signal is intercepted,which can be obtained by multiplication of radar signal samplings and the equivalent dechirped target echo in the time domain.As the complex synthesis of dechirped target echo can be realized by cheap digital signal processor(DSP) within the interpulse time,the overall cost of the jamming equipment will be reduced and the false-target size will not be limited by the scale of FPGA.Numerical simulations are performed to verify the correctness and effectiveness of the proposed algorithm. 展开更多

The drawbacks of common nonlinear Filtered-ε adaptive inverse control (AIC) method, such as the unreliability due to the change of delay time and the faultiness existing in its disturbance control loop, are discussed. Based on it, the diagram of AIC is amended to accommodate with the characteristic of nonlinear object with time delay. The corresponding Filtered-ε adaptive algorithm based on RTRL is presented to identify the parameters and design the controller. The simulation results on a nonlinear ship model of "The R.O.V Zeefakker" show that compared with the previous scheme and adaptive PID control, the improved method not only keeps the same dynamic response performance, but also owns higher robustness and disturbance rejection ability, and it is suitable for the control of nonlinear objects which have higher requirement to the maneuverability under complex disturbance environment. 展开更多

Based on an analogy between thermodynamics and Bayesian inference,inverse halftoning was formulated using multiple halftone images based on Bayesian inference using the maximizer of the posterior marginal(MPM) estimate.Applying Monte Carlo simulation to a set of snapshots of the Q-Ising model,it was demonstrated that optimal performance is achieved around the Bayes-optimal condition within statistical uncertainty and that the performance of the Bayes-optimal solution is superior to that of the maximum-a-posteriori(MAP) estimation which is a deterministic limit of the MPM estimate.These properties were qualitatively confirmed by the mean-field theory using an infinite-range model established in statistical mechanics.Additionally,a practical and useful method was constructed using the statistical mechanical iterative method via the Bethe approximation.Numerical simulations for a 256-grayscale standard image show that Bethe approximation works as good as the MPM estimation if the parameters are set appropriately. 展开更多

We employ Davidon least squares in training the multi-layer feedforward neural network used in approximating the inverse model of plant to expedite the convergence, and then through constructing the pseudo-plant, a neural network inverse adaptive controller is put forward which is still effective to the nonlinear non-minimum phase system. This paper proposes a model for image restoration by combining the wavelet shrinkage and inverse scale space (ISS) method. The ISS is applied to the wavelet representation to modify the retained wavelet coefficients, and the coefficients smaller than the threshold are set to zero. The curvature term of the ISS can remove the edge artifacts and preserve sharp edges. For the multiscale interpretation of the ISS and the multiscale property of the wavelet representation, small details are preserved. This paper illustrates that the wavelet ISS model can be deduced from the wavelet based on a total variation minimization problem. A stopping criterion is obtained from this minimization in the sense of the Bregman distance in the wavelet domain. Numerical examples show the improvement for the image denoising with the proposed method in the sense of the signal to noise ratio and with fewer details remained in the residue. 展开更多

Inverse speed is a reversible maneuver.It is a characteristic of underwater vehicle at low speed.Maneuverability in the vertical plane at a speed lower than inverse speed is different from one at higher speed.In the process of underwater working for observation,AUV's cruise speed is always low.Therefore,the research on inverse speed is important to AUV's maneuverability.The mechanism of inverse speed was analyzed,and then the steady pitching equation was derived.The parameter expression of track angle in vertical plane was deduced.Furthermore,the formula to calculate the inverse speed was obtained.The typical inverse speed phenomenon of the flat body and the revolving body was analyzed.Then the conclusion depicts that,for a particular AUV with flat body,its inverse speed is lower than that of revolving body.After all the calculation and the analysis,a series of special experiments of inverse speed were carried out in the simulation program,in the tank and in the sea trial. 展开更多

In real-time strategy(RTS)games,the ability of recognizing other players’goals is important for creating artifical intelligence(AI)players.However,most current goal recognition methods do not take the player’s deceptive behavior into account which often occurs in RTS game scenarios,resulting in poor recognition results.In order to solve this problem,this paper proposes goal recognition for deceptive agent,which is an extended goal recognition method applying the deductive reason method(from general to special)to model the deceptive agent’s behavioral strategy.First of all,the general deceptive behavior model is proposed to abstract features of deception,and then these features are applied to construct a behavior strategy that best matches the deceiver’s historical behavior data by the inverse reinforcement learning(IRL)method.Final,to interfere with the deceptive behavior implementation,we construct a game model to describe the confrontation scenario and the most effective interference measures. 展开更多

For ship targets with complex motion,it is difficult for the traditional monostatic inverse synthetic aperture radar(ISAR)imaging to improve the cross-range resolution by increasing of accumulation time.In this paper,a distributed ISAR imaging algorithm is proposed to improve the cross-range resolution for the ship target.Multiple stations are used to observe the target in a short time,thereby the effect of incoherence caused by the complex motion of the ship can be reduced.The signal model of ship target with three-dimensional(3-D)rotation is constructed firstly.Then detailed analysis about the improvement of crossrange resolution is presented.Afterward,we propose the methods of parameters estimation to solve the problem of the overlap or gap,which will cause a loss of resolution and is necessary for subsequent processing.Besides,the compressed sensing(CS)method is applied to reconstruct the echoes with gaps.Finally,numerical simulations are presented to verify the effectiveness and the robustness of the proposed algorithm. 展开更多

An iterative method is introduced successfully to solve the inverse kinematics of a 6-DOF manipulator of a tunnel drilling rig based on dual quaternion, which is difficult to get the solution by Denavit-Hartenberg(D-H) based methods. By the intuitive expression of dual quaternion to the orientation of rigid body, the coordinate frames assigned to each joint are established all in the same orientation, which does not need to use the D-H procedure. The compact and simple form of kinematic equations, consisting of position equations and orientation equations, is also the consequence of dual quaternion calculations. The iterative process is basically of two steps which are related to solving the position equations and orientation equations correspondingly. First, assume an initial value of the iterative variable; then, the position equations can be solved because of the reduced number of unknown variables in the position equations and the orientation equations can be solved by applying the solution from the position equations, which obtains an updated value for the iterative variable; finally, repeat the procedure by using the updated iterative variable to the position equations till the prescribed accuracy is obtained. The method proposed has a clear geometric meaning, and the algorithm is simple and direct. Simulation for 100 poses of the end frame shows that the average running time of inverse kinematics calculation for each demanded pose of end-effector is 7.2 ms on an ordinary laptop, which is good enough for practical use. The iteration counts 2-4 cycles generally, which is a quick convergence. The method proposed here has been successfully used in the project of automating a hydraulic rig. 展开更多

An effective maintenance policy optimization model can reduce maintenance cost and system operation risk. For mission-oriented systems, the degradation process changes dynamically and is monotonous and irreversible. Meanwhile, the risk of early failure is high. Therefore, this paper proposes a dynamic condition-based maintenance(CBM) optimization model for mission-oriented system based on inverse Gaussian(IG) degradation process. Firstly, the IG process with random drift coefficient is used to describe the degradation process and the relevant probability distributions are obtained. Secondly, the dynamic preventive maintenance threshold(DPMT) function is used to control the early failure risk of the mission-oriented system, and the influence of imperfect preventive maintenance(PM)on the degradation amount and degradation rate is analysed comprehensively. Thirdly, according to the mission availability requirement, the probability formulas of different types of renewal policies are obtained, and the CBM optimization model is constructed. Finally, a numerical example is presented to verify the proposed model. The comparison with the fixed PM threshold model and the sensitivity analysis show the effectiveness and application value of the optimization model. 展开更多
