The candlenut, Aegiceras corniculatum,w hich belongs to Aegiceras genus of Myrsinaceae family, is a crypto-viviparous species of Mangrove. And it is a native species of the main woody Mangrove for afforestation in the area of the Luoyang River Wetland of Quanzhou Bay. The breeding and afforestation experiments, including using different planting densities, methods, time and qualities of seedlings in different tidelands and silty lands, were carried out to study the sylvicultural technologies. The results showed that the most favoritea reaf or Aegicerasc orniculatum growth was flat, soft and permeable bayou tideland; the best seedlings for afforestation were 1-year or 2-year old seedlings with clods on roots; the best time for afforestation was the period between May and October, during which seedling planting should be carriedo ut betweenM ay and August, over-sowing with hypocotyls for supplement should made between August and October; andt he proper higherp lanting density coulde nhance their survival rates. 展开更多
