The students took part in my survey are those just say goodbye to the high school and are freshmen in college now. The English learning experience narrative is in a form of diary. Through the students themselves' own point of views in recounting their English learning experiences, I want to find the reality hidden behind their failures in learning English. Based on basic situational research and analysis carried out on 638 college students using network, we found that as many as 20 percent of the students are not only largely dependent on internet, but also addicted to ...Based on basic situational research and analysis carried out on 638 college students using network, we found that as many as 20 percent of the students are not only largely dependent on internet, but also addicted to it. Further biography characteristics analyses for different individuals on the four dimensions of the network forced addiction, tolerance, and time management and interpersonal relationship and health, show that there are significant differences in grades, gender with different education levels of their parents. Further researches on discrepancy that addicted groups have in network entertainment addiction, network information, cyber porn, network relations and network transactions addictions also illustrate that significant discrepancies exist in gender, net age, different discipline and other factors. Finally we put forward some correlative measures to solve the problems of college students network psychology from individuals, schools, and society levels.展开更多

Epidemiological studies showed that night workers are at higher risk of developing chronic metabolic diseases.However,no study has investigated the changes in circadian rhythms caused by a combined effect of sleep and...Epidemiological studies showed that night workers are at higher risk of developing chronic metabolic diseases.However,no study has investigated the changes in circadian rhythms caused by a combined effect of sleep and diet in a real-life setting on cardiometabolic health,gut microbiota,and psychological status in healthy people.A 4-week step-wise misaligned-realigned controlled-feeding trial with a 2×2 factorial design(sleep and diet)was conducted on healthy young adults.At first,subjects experienced a one-week circadian rhythm misalignment with a high-fat fast-food diet,extended eating window,and delayed sleep schedules,then gradually transited to a complete circadian rhythm realignment with a high-fiber balanced diet,8-h timerestricted eating,and normal sleep schedules.Circadian rhythm misalignment led to significantly higher levels of fasting glucose and homeostatic model assessment for insulin resistance(HOMA-IR)of subjects compared to baseline and failed to recover to the baseline level in circadian rhythm realignments.Notably,the incremental area under the curve(iAUC)of postprandial glucose decreased with circadian rhythm adjustments as compared to that in circadian rhythm misalignment,suggesting circadian rhythm realignment by sleep or/and diet could partly restore glucose metabolism impaired by a short-term circadian rhythm misalignment.However,circadian rhythm changes did not result in overall perturbations of gut microbiota diversities.展开更多
I, an introvert, have observed the introverted EFL teachers in my work place in terms of the characteristics of communica-tion in class since I felt some of my personality traits get in the way in my class. The findin...I, an introvert, have observed the introverted EFL teachers in my work place in terms of the characteristics of communica-tion in class since I felt some of my personality traits get in the way in my class. The findings correspond to Brian R. Little's per-sonality psychology.Brian Little has revealed that introverted people lack mutual gazes and tend to talk past each other, and intro-verted EFL teachers are no exception according to my study. In the perspective of personality psychology, avoiding too much eyecontact is not because of a lack of confidence, but a way for introverts to reduce the outside stimulation. This explanation is reason-able but not good for communication in EFL teaching. In fact it is contradicted with the notion that language teachers should be amaster of communication themselves. Then I managed to identify these seemingly anti-social characteristics of communication andseek for some other means to compensate for what might be missed out in class communication. Brian Little clarifies the relation-ship between free trait, core projects and acting out of character. I conduct an empirical study by using questionnaires in which tenhigh-achieving university introverted English teachers with ten-year teaching experiences illustrates their initial problems in EFLteaching as well as their possible solutions. By collecting some characteristics of communication in class, I provide a three-stepcounter strategy for introverted EFL teachers to survive language class communication. First, accept the"weakness"and feel com-fortable with it. Second, set goals to practice it. Third, look for other means to compensate for it. This counter measure conforms toBrain Little's theory on the relationship between"free trait","core project "and"acting out of character".
