It uses the available information about mobile node(MN) such as user mobility patterns and MN's velocity to reduce handoff latency. In the proposed scheme, the movement pattern of users plays an important role in the performance analysis. The proposed scheme develops LBS that records a number of mobility patterns based on user daily behavior, and exploits these information to reduce the handoff latency. The evaluation is based on the transient heating measurement of the A1GaN/GaN HEMT by pulsed electrical temperature sensitive parameter method. The extracted chip-level and package-level thermal resistances of the packaged multi-finger A1GaN/GaN HEMT with 400μm SiC substrate are 22.5 K/W and 7.2 K/W respectively, which provides a non-invasive method to evaluate the chip-level thermal resistance of packaged A1GaN/GaN HEMTs. It is also experimentally proved that the extraction of the chip- level thermal resistance by this proposed method is not influenced by package form of the tested device and temperature boundary condition of measurement stage.展开更多

The lung is one of the earliest organs affected by sepsisassociated with acute lung injury. High mobility group protein B1 (HMGB1) is an important late-actingpro-infl ammatory cytokine involving in the pathophysiology of sepsis. It is also involved in the injuryprocess in the lung, liver and intestine. There has been no report on the involvement of HMGB1 inVibrio vulnifi cus sepsis-induced lung injury.METHODS: Sixty rats were randomly divided into a normal control group (group A, n=10) anda Vibrio vulnificus sepsis group (group B, n=50). Sepsis was induced in the rats by subcutaneousinjection of Vibrio vulnificus (concentration 6×108 cfu/mL, volume 0.1 mL/100g)) into the left lowerlimbs. The rats in group B were sacrifi ced separately 1, 6, 12, 24, and 48 hours after the infection.Their lungs were stored as specimens, lung water content was measured, and lung pathology wasobserved under a light microscope. The expressions of the HMGB1 gene and protein in the lungswere detected by RT-PCR and Western blot. Data were analyzed with one-way analysis of variance(ANOVA) and the LSD method for pair-wise comparison between the two groups. P〈0.05 wasconsidered statistically signifi cant.RESULTS: Compared to group A (0.652±0.177), HMGB1 mRNA expression in the lungs ofgroup B was signifi cantly higher at 0 hour (1.161±0.358, P=0.013), 24 hours (1.679±0.235, P=0.000),and 48 hours (1.258±0.274, P=0.004) (P〈0.05), and peaked at 24 hours. Compared to group A(0.594±0.190), HMGB1 protein expression at 6 hours (1.408±0.567, P=0.026) after infection wassignificantly increased (P〈0. 05), and peaked at 24 hours (2.415±1.064, P=0.000) after infection.Compared to group A (0.699±0.054), lung water content was significantly increased at 6 hours(0.759±0.030, P=0.001),12 hours (0.767±0.023, P=0.000), 24 hours (0.771±0.043, P=0.000) and 48hours (0.789±0.137, P=0.000) after infection (P〈0.05). Compared to group A, pathological changesat 12 hours in group B indicate marked pulmonary vascular congestion, interstitial edema andinfl ammatory infi ltration. Alveolar cavity collapse and boundaries of the alveolar septum could not beclearly identifi ed.CONCLUSION: Vibrio vulnifi cus sepsis can lead to injury in rat lungs, and increased HMGB1expression in lung tissue may be one of the mechanisms for injury from Vibrio vulnifi cus sepsis.展开更多

The absence of ideal recording materials has hampered the realization of their commercial applications. Here we report that the response time of a bismuth and magnesium codoped lithium niobate(LN:Bi,Mg) crystal is shortened to 7.2 ms and a sensitivity as high as 646 cm/J. The crystal was used to demonstrate a real-time holographic display with a refresh rate of 60 Hz, as that of the popular high-definition television. Moreover, the first-principles calculations indicate that the electron mobility while Bi occupying Nb-site is significantly greater than that in Li-site, which directly induces the fast response of LN:Bi,Mg crystals when the concentration of Mg is above its doping threshold.展开更多

A growing body of evidence suggests that the activation of a proinflammatory cascade is responsible for the development of immune dysfunction, susceptibility to severe sepsis and septic shock. The present theories of sepsis as a dysregulated inflammatory response and immune function, as manifested by excessive release of inflammatory mediators such as high mobility group box 1 protein (HMGB1), are supported by increasing studies employing animal models and clinical observations of sepsis. HMGB1, originally described as a DNA-binding protein and released passively by necrotic cells and actively by macrophages/monocytes, has been discovered to be one of essential cytokines that mediates the response to infection, injury and inflammation. A growing number of studies still focus on the inflammation-regulatory function and its contribution to infectious and inflammatory disorders, recent data suggest that HMGB1 formation can also markedly influence the host cell-mediated immunity, including T lymphocytes and macrophages. Here we review emerging evidence that support extracellular HMGB1 as a late mediator of septic complications, and discuss the therapeutic potential of several HMGBl-targeting agents in experimental sepsis. In addition, with the development of traditional Chinese medicine in recent years, it has been proven that traditional Chinese herbal materials and their extracts have remarkable effective in treating severe sepsis. In this review, we therefore provide some new concepts of HMGBl-targeted Chinese herbal therapies in sepsis.展开更多

Simulation with Ansoft Maxwell 12 is carried out to analyze the electric field distribution within the IMS, and to offer the basis and foundation for analyzing the measurement results. The measurement results of the quantities of electrons show that when the drift electric field strength and the ring inner diameter rise, both the number of ef- fective electrons and the effective electron rate are increased. When the discharge voltage becomes stronger, the number of effective electrons goes up while the effective electron rate goes down. In light of the simulation results, mechanisms underlying the effects of drift electric field strength, ring inner diameter, and discharge voltage on the effective electron number and effective electron rate are discussed. These will make great sense for designing negative ion mode IMS using the needle-ring pulsed corona discharge as the electron source.展开更多

HMGB1 is secreted into the extracellular milieu and acts as a proinflammatory cytokine. In this article we reviewed briefly the cellular immune response mediated by HMGB1 in inflammation and sepsis. This systemic review is mainly based on our own work and other related reports HMGB1 can actively affect the immune functions of many types of cells including T lymphocytes, regulatory T cells (Tregs), dendritic cells (DCs), macrophages, and natural killer cells (NK cells). Various cellular responses can be mediated by HMGB1 which binds to cell-surface receptors [e.g., the receptor for advanced glycation end products (RAGE), Toll-like receptor (TLR)2, and TLR4]. Anti-HMGB1 treatment, such as anti-HMGB1 polyclonal or monoclonal antibodies, inhibitors (e.g., ethyl pyruvate) and antagonists (e.g., A box), can protect against sepsis lethality and give a wider window for the treatment opportunity. HMGB1 is an attractive target for the development of new therapeutic strategies in the treatment of patients with septic complications.展开更多

Scheme A is designed to reduce handover delay by making handover preparation before handover starts. Scheme B aims at reducing unnecessary handovers and improving handover success rate, by calculating the geographically best target handover cell, which makes it easier for mobile terminals to access the target cell. A system level simulation is conducted to evaluate the performance of these two schemes. It is shown that, scheme A could reduce inter-site handover delay by about 50 ms, while scheme B could cut down nearly 50% of all handovers when time-to-trigger (TTT) is 0 ms. Besides, as TTT gets larger, Scheme B has much better success rate.展开更多

文摘The pore structure and oil content of shales have an important influence on the oil mobility and enrichment. In this study, the lacustrine shale samples from the Qingshankou Formation(Q1)of Songliao Basin were selected.TOC,pyrolysis,XRD and nitrogen adsorption were performed on the original and extracted shale samples. Then the influence of mineral composition and organic matter(OM)on the development of nano-scale pore, the oil phase states and mobility were analyzed. The Q1 shale samples can be sub-divided into three types according to the isotherm characteristics.Type A samples are characterized by high kerogen content, with oil mainly existing in the free phase state.Type B samples are characterized by medium kerogen content, oil mainly exists in the absorbed phase state.Type C samples are characterized by low kerogen content, with trace oil found in the absorbed phase state.Nano-scale organic pores are well developed in the Q1 Formation.Oil is primarily found in the pore spaces with diameters less than 10 nm,this being the pore size threshold for mobile shale oil. When TOC>2.0 wt%and EOM>1.0 wt%,Q1 Formation shale oil mobility is high, resulting in prospective drilling targets.

文摘The evaluation of thermal resistance constitution for packaged A1GaN/GaN high electron mobility transistor (HEMT) by structure function method is proposed in this paper. It is also experimentally proved that the extraction of the chip- level thermal resistance by this proposed method is not influenced by package form of the tested device and temperature boundary condition of measurement stage.
文摘BACKGROUND: Vibrio vulnifi cus inside the body could activate the NF-!B signaling pathwayand initiate the inflammatory cascade. Alveolar cavity collapse and boundaries of the alveolar septum could not beclearly identifi ed.CONCLUSION: Vibrio vulnifi cus sepsis can lead to injury in rat lungs, and increased HMGB1expression in lung tissue may be one of the mechanisms for injury from Vibrio vulnifi cus sepsis.

文摘Holographic display has attracted widespread interest because of its ability to show the complete information of the object and bring people an unprecedented sense of presence. Moreover, the first-principles calculations indicate that the electron mobility while Bi occupying Nb-site is significantly greater than that in Li-site, which directly induces the fast response of LN:Bi,Mg crystals when the concentration of Mg is above its doping threshold.

文摘Objective This study was performed to investigate the effect of high mobility group box-1 protein(HMGB1)on immune function of human T lymphocytes in vitro and explore its potential role in cell-mediated immune dysfunction. Methods Fresh blood was obtained from healthy adult volunteers and peripheral blood mononuclear cells(PBMCs)were isolated, then rhHMGB1 was added to PBMCs.Four-color flow cytometric(FCM)analysis was used for the measurement of intracellular cytokine including interleukin IL-4 and interferon IFN-?ELISA kits were employed for the determination of IL-2 and sIL-2R protein levels in cell culture supernatants.Results(1)Different stimulating time and dosage of rhHMGB1 did not alter the number of IFN-αpositive cells(Th1).rhHMGB1 stimulation provoked a dose-dependent and time-dependent increase in Th2 subset and decrease in ratio of Th1 to Th2.(2)Compared with the untreated cells, when the cells were coincubated with rhHMGB1(10-100ng/ml)for 12 hrs, protein release of IL-2 and sIL-2R were significantly up-regulated.At 48 hrs,in contrast, protein production was relatively lower in cells after exposure to 100-1000 ng/ml rhHMGB1.Conclusions These findings demonstrated that HMGB1 has a dual influence on immune functions of human T lymphocytes.

文摘Bulk graphene nanofilms feature fast electronic and phonon transport in combination with strong light-matter interaction and thus have great potential for versatile applications, spanning from photonic, electronic, and optoelectronic devices to charge-stripping and electromagnetic shielding,etc.However,large-area flexible close-stacked graphene nanofilms with a wide thickness range have yet to be reported. Here,we report a polyacrylonitrile-assisted’substrate replacement’strategy to fabricate large-area free-standing graphene oxide/polyacrylonitrile nanofilms(lateral size~20 cm).Linear polyacrylonitrile chains-derived nanochannels promote the escape of gases and enable macro-assembled graphene nanofilms(nMAGs)of 50-600 nm thickness following heat treatment at 3,000℃.The uniform nMAGs exhibit 802-1,540 cm^(2)V-1s-1carrier mobility,4.3-4.7 ps carrier lifetime,and>1,581 W m^(-1)K^(-1)thermal conductivity(n MAG-assembled 10μm-thick films,mMAGs).nMAGs are highly flexible and show no structure damage even after 1.0×10^(5)cycles of folding-unfolding.Furthermore,n MAGs broaden the detection region of graphene/silicon heterojunction from near-infrared to mid-infrared and demonstrate higher absolute electromagnetic interference(EMI)shielding effectiveness than state-of-the-art EMI materials of the same thickness. These results are expected to lead to the broad applications of such bulk nanofilms, especially as micro/nanoelectronic and optoelectronic platforms.
文摘Sepsis is an infection induced systemic inflammatory response syndrome and is a major cause of morbidity as well as mortality in intensive care units. In this review, we therefore provide some new concepts of HMGBl-targeted Chinese herbal therapies in sepsis.

文摘A simple negative ion mobility spectrometer (IMS) is designed and used to investi- gate the factors that influence the number and efficiency of electrons generated by the needle-ring pulsed corona discharge electron source. These will make great sense for designing negative ion mode IMS using the needle-ring pulsed corona discharge as the electron source.
文摘In recent years, with the growth in Unmanned Aerial Vehicles(UAVs),UAV-based systems have become popular in both military and civil applications. In these scenarios, the lack of reliable communication infrastructure has motivated UAVs to establish a network as flying nodes, also known as Flying Ad Hoc Networks(FANETs).However,in FANETs,the high mobility degree of flying and terrestrial users may be responsible for constant changes in the network topology, making end-to-end connections in FANETs challenging.Mobility estimation and prediction of UAVs can address the challenge mentioned above since it can provide better routing planning and improve overall FANET performance in terms of continuous service availability. We thus develop a Software Defined Network(SDN)-based heterogeneous architecture for reliable communication in FANETs.In this architecture,we apply an Extended Kalman Filter(EKF)for accurate mobility estimation and prediction of UAVs.In particular,we formulate the routing problem in SDN-based Heterogeneous FANETs as a graph decision problem. As the problem is NP-hard,we further propose a Directional Particle Swarming Optimization(DPSO)approach to solve it.The extensive simulation results demonstrate that the proposed DPSO routing can exhibit superior performance in improving the goodput, packet delivery ratio, and delay.

文摘High mobility group box 1 protein (HMGB1) is a highly conserved, ubiquitous protein in the nuclei and cytoplasm of nearly all cell types. HMGB1 is an attractive target for the development of new therapeutic strategies in the treatment of patients with septic complications.

文摘Two position-assisted fast handover schemes, scheme A and scheme B, for LTE-A system under very high mobility scenarios, are proposed, together with their performance evaluation. Besides, as TTT gets larger, Scheme B has much better success rate.

文摘To enhance seamless source mobility support in the mobile NDN(Named Data Networking) environment,we propose a novel Locator Based Mobility support Approach, dubbed LBMA.In this approach,we assign a unique topologically layered locator to each AR(Access Route)in NDN network, and extend the AR with additional functionalities, such as caching and forwarding Interest packets on behalf of the source.Meanwhile,we add an optional field to the original NDN packet, and modify the Outgoing Interface(s) field in the AR's original FIB(Forwarding Information Base)entries,to record the mobility status and the current locator of the source.Specifically, the consumer in LBMA can continue the interrupted communication, without delivering Interest packets towards the old location of the source, nor waiting for all relevant devices completing the FIB entries updating. The performance analysis result indicates that LBMA has lower handoff cost and shorter handoff latency, compared with other existing source mobility support approaches.
