摘要
郑观应在经商之余,勤于著书立说,思考富国强盛之道。他接续了明末清初到晚清思想家的主流观点,揭露当时学校教育的衰落,批评八股取士的危害。他在阅读李提摩太、花之安、王韬等人论著的基础上,认识到西方“富强之本”是在“教养得法”,提出在各地遍设各级各类新式学堂、优先发展实业技术教育、倡导女子教育、创立师范学校、重视慈善教育、奖励留学、改革考试制度等教育现代化思想。郑观应的教育现代化思想与晚清魏源、冯桂芬、王韬、张之洞、康有为、梁启超等人的思想相比,既有明显的进步,又有自己的特色,因而在中国近代教育史上应有不可忽视的一席之地。
Zheng Guanying was diligent in writing books and thinking about the way of rich country and prosperity in his spare time from business.He continued the mainstream viewpoints of thinkers from the late Ming to the late Qing Dynasty,exposed the decline of school education at that time,and criticized the harm of the imperial examination system.On the basis of reading the works of Timothy Richard,Ernst Faber,Wang Tao and others,Mr.Zheng realized that the"root of prosperity and strength"in the West powers was"the right way to cultivate".He put forward an educational modernization system,including immediately establishing new schools of all levels and types in various places,emphasizing the priority development of industrial and technical education,vigorously advocating women's education,establishing normal schools,attaching importance to charitable education,rewarding overseas study,and reforming the examination system.Compared with the thoughts of Wei Yuan,Feng Guifen,Wang Tao,Zhang Zhidong,Kang Youwei,Liang Qichao and others in the late Qing Dynasty,Zheng Guanying's idea of educational modernization not only made obvious progress but also had its own characteristics,so it should not be ignored in the history of modern Chinese education.
