摘要
直至近代,珍珠、珊瑚与玳瑁等海产宝石始终广泛应用于奢侈品或装饰品领域。伴随近代西方海洋科学知识的传入,人们逐渐了解到海产宝石本身的海洋生物属性,并且在科学认知下,衍生出人工养殖与人造海产宝石的技术,加之海关贸易中进口的国外海产宝石,使得近代市场获取海产宝石的途径进一步拓宽。海产宝石供应渠道的增加,促使其不仅占有原先固定的、较高端的珠宝装饰市场份额,而且逐步被用作眼镜、镜子、皂缸等日常器具的镶嵌材料,市场流通度较之近代以前有了较大提高,并日益走进大众消费视野。
Until modern times,marine gemstones such as pearls,corals,and tortoiseshells have been widely used in the fields of luxury goods or decorative items.With the infiltration of modern Western marine science knowledge,people gradually understood the marine biological properties of marine gemstones themselves,and under scientific knowledge,the technology of artificial breeding and artificial marine gemstones was derived.In addition,the import of foreign marine gemstones in customs trade further expanded the channels for obtaining marine gemstones in the modern market.The increase in supply channels for marine gemstones has not only enabled them to occupy a fixed and high-end market share in jewelry decoration,but also gradually become used as inlay materials for daily appliances such as glasses,mirrors,soap dispensers,etc.The market circulation has greatly improved compared to before modern times,and they are increasingly entering the public consumption field.
